Carteret Health Care Reviews ( 208 )

  1. Very poor hospital . Waited over 5 hours and never once saw a pa, Dr , only a nurse and that was for maybe a minute . Would not be so bad but to see and hear the staff laughing and carrying on with each other and not focused . No way they …

  2. What a huge joke!
Waited 4 and a half hours to be seen, sat in the room for 2 and a half hours only to be told that they can’t do anything for me. Thanks for wasting my time. Glad I wasn’t in critical condition.

  3. For their surgery department A++. The er is horrendous. Have been here 4 hours and am still in the waiting room. It was not that busy. I have been passed up a few times due to complainers.

  4. This hospital is a joke been here for 3 hr still haven’t been see my son is running a fever of 103.2 no test have been ordered or medicine been give after being triaged so sad that this hospital is like this

  5. I went here after a scuba diving accident on holiday and the service here was amazing and everyone was so kind and while I was alone waiting for my family it was very pleasant to share a chat with the nursing staff.

  6. I have said this before and I’ll say it again the ER evening and night shift need some direction! Whoever is in charge needs to rework those shifts they are so inefficient.

  7. Well, they saved my daughter’s life. I guess that’s pretty good. Couldn’t ask for much more I reckon. I’m pretty satisfied with that. I thought they were top notch myself.

  8. The absolute worst hospital around go to Newbern if you need emergency care. If you go to carteret plan on it taking at least 5 to 6 hours just to see a MD.

  9. Terriable sevice. They didnt help at all. Took over 2 hours for them to print a piece of paper. They laughed at our wait. Horrible, ive had better service from a burger king.

  10. I have been here since 730pm and now its 1245am. I asked where I was at in line and the rude receptionist says you need to stay over there. All this for covid test.

  11. Waiting in the er for 5 hrs. Next I will just go to Bell Munden !!!??!!
Now here again with my mother. She has heart trouble and have been wating for 4 hrs. Have not even made back to er.

  12. I have seen people sit and sit for hours in the emergency room. Not really sure if it was necessary.
But I can say ,the people at the front desk are very sweet.

  13. Staff and Doctors were uninformative and condescending. I would rate a zero if I could.
The only positive thing was the lady who drew my blood was Angel.

  14. My stepdaughter is there and I said something about how u can’t have anything inside they made me and my wife leave I wouldn’t have post this if it was just me because I said it but told us both to leave and wasn’t allowed to be in there …

  15. I had my daughter at carteret. The upgrade to the building is beautiful. The facilities were very clean, the staff super friendly, and the overall experience was amazing.

  16. Excellent facility where the staff consistently display a patient-first mentality. Everyone was very welcoming and knowledgable, willing to educate me along the way. I will definitely return, when needed

  17. I don’t know why people say such bad things about this place. They’ve saved my life twice and staff is always nice. Just had surgery and they even called to check on me. Very clean and love that they have a Starbucks.

  18. Women at the emergency room check in desk was extremely rude!! If you are going to be rude and have an attitude you should not be working with the public. All I did was asked her for directions to the south entrance.

  19. Want to experience the WORST care of your life? This is the place to go!
Careless, Despicable, overly dramatic emergency room staff. Don’t waste the time here? There’s a reason they have a short wait time, and it’s not because they are good.

  20. Retired firefighter paramedic went there thinking I was having AMI. Staff showed no urgency, 12 lead ekg done with me sitting in a chair in triage area by paramedics who placed leads poorly. Over all not professional and very poor customer service!

  21. I would not take my dog to Carteret general hospital. been here for 4 hours and they are the slowest people that’s ever been on this Earth there’s no sense in this I’m not here for me I’m here for somebody else but there’s no sense in this they need a lot of help here in the emergency room I just don’t understand it

  22. Place is the worst hospital I have ever been to. No one checks on you, and the wait time is ridiculous.
Edit to add: I’ve waited so long that I had to give my wife the wheelchair

  23. I had to go to the emergency room and everyone was so nice and thoughtful and really took their time to explain things to me and even asked me if I understood everything. This is an awesome hospital and it is always quick!

  24. If you have spent anytime in this hospital and have anything bad to say then you might have been the problem these people go above and beyond absolutely top notch thank you to all of you there I hope the Board sees this you should be very proud of your staff

  27. My so had a spinal cord implant surgery done here through veterans choice, he is a disabled veteran. The staff was very nice, the facility was clean except in the bathroom.

  28. It would be nice to talk to a live person instead of recordings and robots. 5 attempts to call during my breaks at work and always leave a message. The world does not revolve around cartereth.c. How about a little customer service?

  29. This hospital has the potential to be a really good hospital. The staff is hit or miss but the ones that are good and care can’t be beat. They need to spend some money on upgrades and employees. That would be a great start on improvement.

  30. I was in the hospital 4 days before the hurricane, I had a cyst on my ovary that Blood in my belly. . I just want to say thank you all for saving my life .. my family and I Thank you all so much.. thank you Carteret Hospital and OBGYN …

  31. I brought my daughter in around 730pm. We sat in waiting room for 4 hrs before being brought in the back. However people complaining of vomiting but laughing came back before my daughter who has been bent double the whole time. We have been in the back now for almost an hour and no one has came in. This place needs helps.

  32. Pediatric elbow injury. Staff efficient, friendly, fast! We were terrified being from out of town, but these folks were awesome. (I’m an RN, so better believe I was watching)
    Thank you!

  33. The front desk of the ER is not equipped for emergencies. They don’t seem to understand the emotional state of a patient in extreme pain and their partner in extreme state of concern and fear. No compassion whatsoever. No sense of urgency …

  44. I wish it was possible to give the place a “zero” instead of one star. I have never seen a hospital that is so slow to take care of patients. I’m from the southwest VA mountains where healthcare is pititful, at best. This hospital makes …

  45. Think you need to go to the emergency room? Be prepared to be price gouged. A visit where the only thing done was temperature, weight, and vital checks cost me $2600. I haven’t got the bill yet for the cat scan and blood test but I wouldn’t be surprised if the total is well over $5000 when I do.

  53. I only have the best things to say about Carteret Health Care. Over the years they have provided excellent service to our family. Our son was born there, they have helped with emergencies over the years, and they have provided care for many of our elderly family members. Wonderful staff and great service.

  67. Almost horrific experience, but when I say Charles is the best paramedic, I mean it. Such an awesome guy, he saw us waiting for hours on end and had our back completely. If everyone in the healthcare field had as much compassion for people as him, the world would be a much better place!

  68. Very very long wait after getting an x-ray before the doc came. Then later, when trying to retrieve the x-ray images, the medical records department was a headache to deal with. They don’t email, they’re hard to get in touch with, and they have all kinds of unnecessary/archaic red tape in the way of you getting your medical records

  69. This hospital is AWESOME!! As a healthcare provider and a mom, I am impressed and so very grateful. They have sweet caring staff, intelligent and skillful nurses, Rockstar OR team and Dr. Z is a God send. Can’t say enough good things about his place. Forever in your debt!!!
