Cedar Springs Behavioral Health System Reviews ( 155 )

  1. Not going to try and rate the care of this place, instead I will rate my interactions with the staff. “Emily” was very rude to me on the phone, seemed to care about being misgendered rather than helping me talk to my sister. I’m can’t see you over the phone, change your name to Karen

  2. Haven’t even made it past the front desk and you get a 1 star review. Get your stuff together and get my brother checked in. Not professional

  3. Very dirty facility I don’t even understand how they can still be operating horrible workers all just bs they didn’t help me at all I just wanted to get out of there and the doctor is a creep

  4. They’ve been helpful for me, first time I feel like I’ve ever been listened to and actually helped rather than being treated like I’ve lost my mind.

  5. We had a wonderful experience working with your marketing and outreach team as co-sponsors this year. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgabe and we are excited for future endeavors!

  6. I was a Senior staff member at this facility. I am a mental health professional, highly trained, seasoned, compassionate……This was one of the WORST experiences of my career……a very toxic place with very toxic results.

  7. I was in the Air Force. They made my PTSD symptoms worse and gave me anti psychotic meds when they weren’t supposed to. They need all there licenses taken away

  8. Horrible Mental work horrible staff some of them don’t even speak English they can’t even keep track of their patients doesn’t do anything to show care or concern for patients

  9. They told me I was going to be there for 72 hours and ended up keeping me for a weak and another girl I was in there with is still the and I got out almost three months ago and they told us since We are not adults that they would take us …

  13. I am looking for a hospital to go to because I’m suicidal. I have already had severe trauma at another hospital in Texas that sounds similar to this one, but honestly from the reviews, and I trust and go reviews for services and goods, …

  14. The residential at Cedar Springs is great! staff are supportive and funny. The food is just like any other food, and the outside area is beautiful

  15. I would not send my dog or my worst enemy to this facility you send a person there to get help and they do not get the help they need the staff is rude they do not return phone calls they don’t know where their administrator is when you …

  16. First off let me say sorry for the ppl who had a bad experience. As for my son who was treated for a week, I seen a tremendous difference in his mood & behavior. The staff was always polite and showed entrées.

  17. I would not give this place even one star. Worst place on the planet to send your loved one. They put a mentally ill person on a bus and sent them to a city they didn’t even live in without telling any family member. Told the family he was …

  18. They almost lost my wife’s intake paper work. Really rude nurses, had my wife in the same scrubs for TWO DAYS. Please if you can help it DO NOT have your family, friends or soldiers sent there.

  19. My family was very upset with the outcome of my mental health after going there two times. There was no professional therapy just normal activities and did not protect everyone as needed.

  20. Dr. Sims was very unprofunprofessional . The treatment there is far from helping any one. You go in needing help. However when you come out you are worse off. After they force you to stay by placing a hold on you. Recieved zero treatment .No counseling .

  21. At first I did’nt like the place at all , but after realizeing the staff in the Birchwood complex were there to do the job they were meant to do I strongly suggest if you need help an admit to yourself thats what you need it was a place to …

  22. Contact the CCHR (citizens commission on Human rights) about the abuse by Dr. Shores. Psychiatrists get paid bonuses for every medication they put children on. cchrint.org you can file a complaint there about him.

  23. They treat you like a number the staff doesn’t really care I was in cotton wood and the only good person who worked there was Jamie he cared other then that they didn’t care they don’t give you the help you need or want they did more damage then good

  24. I always wanted to work here but I kept hearing all bad stuff and now seeing the reviews make it worse. What is up with that doctor? Dr. Shores should have been gone, your suppose to help not drug someone up. Help people don’t turn them away

  25. Absolutely horrable. They messed up my meds and gave me a higher doseage without consulting my family first. They accused me of making myself throw up cause I was throwing up so much ( the meds they put me on were too much and made me sick) do not recommend.

  26. For all of those reading this, the only way this facility is going to change is to complain to the State of Colorado. Cedar Springs does not take these complaints seriously but I can assure you that the parent company UHS does.

  27. Worst experience EVER!!!! I left in worse shape than I came. Horrible food, won’t even give you a laxative or a benedryl. Violated the HIPPA law ALL DAY LONG!! I knew everyone’s privileged information just from going to the window. Unprofessional staff and one inept Dr. What a joke, it should be closed down.

  28. Wow where do i begin first off they lied about being able to care for my daughter they let her suffer the unfortunate part is my daughter was jst another dollar to these people they did not care. Everytime id call it was a bother to them …

  29. Calmed down due to drugs they made me take. They had ants everywhere, and in my clothes. I had to sweep myself since no one could do it right. Sheets were gross, no privacy for the bathrooms. I woke up every 20 minutes because they would check on us during thre night (even tho they had motion sensors).

  30. I stayed for the mandatory 72 hours. No psych help. Saw the doctor once. The group activity was learning how to color inside the lines. That is seriously all we did.

  31. kids 20-30 min screaming little girls through the wall not even in movies. I will never forget those girls screams for as long as I live brings me to tears brake me down completely doesn’t even come close to describing it and imprisoned …

  32. My 15 year old autistic daughter attended the adolescent PHP program. It was very beneficial for her. She learned distress tolerance and patience. I am very happy we decided to send her and I would recommend the program to anyone who is having difficulties with their child.

  33. I just went in for help and to start php program and in order to do this program successfully i needed a conflict free environment in which they have a contract with a local hotel to provide just that a safe environment and was told i …

  34. Attention all military and family. Do not, i repeat DONT go here for any help. They didn’t do my referral to tricare and i have been left with nearly 4K of debt. Tricare recieved no referral, and they sent me to several collection to pay on their mistake. I’d i could give a negative star review i would. Please heed to my advice

  35. The doctor I was working with told me to bring back any paperwork I had from my employer so that I could get in to their PHP program. I brought the paperwork in, she said she can’t fill it out because she doesn’t know how long I’ll be in …

  36. If I could leave zero stars I would. I was approved for a 28 day program then denied when I arrived. I arrived on my own accord and sober with no blood alcohol level detected and put into detox for 5 days so they could collect insurance …

  40. this place uses isolation and pharmaceuticals to treat children. their “doctors” diagnose after less then a half hour interview they dignosed me as schizophrenic, obsessive compulsive and a slew of other things at the age of twelve. then …

  41. Hospital discharged my grandson in emergent state, without stabilizing him. When I sent them a grievance, the only response I received was “we cannot confirm or deny that he was a patient”. Unfortunately, this carless discharge affected his life very seriously. I only hope that they will be more diligent with other patients.

  42. In it for the money that’s for sure. I witnessed a worker lose his cool and lay on a young kid and hurt him. Make sure you order your child’s medical records so you can see how brief and unprofessional they are in their documentation. 8 days and 13k later with no aftercare scheduled.

  43. High standard of care, acute stabilization only. Majority of involuntary patients would end up in jail if not a psych hospital. Likewise if you want to sign yourself out of voluntary heroin withdrawal, that’s your right. You see babysitting but it’s personal accountability

  44. Look having o go through this sucks but I promise you this place will help you through hell. It’s awful having to suffer and have withdrawal. I specifically remember the staff being professional and kind. We made our own beds. Thanks

  45. I think it’s odd that so many say they pump you full of drugs here. They wouldn’t give me any of my prescribed medications.I was told that when I got here a Dr. would be waiting and I’d get my meds and be made comfortable. They had their own …

  48. This is the worst place I’ve ever been. The nurses were rude and unhelpful and didn’t let me shower for three days. They tried to convince me I need anxiety medication (I don’t have anxiety) and that I should stay longer despite being sent there falsely. They are unhelpful and purposefully try to make you stay longer.

  49. Kathy myatt is absolutely amazing! She is the most compassionate & patient provider I have ever worked with. Amanda is exceptional as well, working hard to get me seen. Thank you Kathy, I’m now ready to deal with the most painful experience …

  52. It’s ok, kids are cool. Shout out to the aspen techs Courtney, Josh, Misha, Ashley, and Nick, y’all are cool. Also we had a riot in a different unit while there, that was cool to look at through the doors of my unit.

  53. I have been through 3 rehab/detox facilities and this one is by far the cleanest and most helpful one. The staff were great and helped me whenever I needed a little extra assurance. I would definitely be recommending this Hospital to any of …

  63. I was here for 15 days as an 11 yr old. I had a terrible experience and everything got worse during and after. I witnessed terrifying things and was forced medication I didn’t need.
