One of my favorite hikes! It’s a beautiful area. Great for hot days; you can cool off in the water and escape the sun’s rays in the trees. Dog friendly.
Love this place
Beautiful views
Excellent waterfall
Great hike
Had a great time
Loved it
Beautiful
Beautiful hike.
Fun time
Awesome scenery
Beautiful hike!
Great hike
My family Deuel canyon cabin creek!!
Lovely summer time hike.
Nice hike.
A really good hike.
Fun spot
Solid
I say don’t go – hoping less people go
Fun hike with all the little bridges
Super fun hike!!
Rope swing and a waterfall, what more need I say?
Went up to the ATV course. Had fun.
The hardest dirtbike trail that I ever tried
Great hike. It’s kind of a hidden jem
Beautiful trail beautiful waterfall mostly shaded
Great trail. Beautiful scenery.
Excellent place
Great hike with an awesome tree swing!
Beautiful hike, mostly easy
Don’t go here. It’s my favorite trail and we prefer less humans. Lol
The rope swing is pretty legit
Kids couldn’t finish the trail. Notable rock climbing required.
Nice hike along a creek
It was a blast to hike and the swing at the end of the the trail is the cherry on top of the sundae.
Amazing fun hike! Beautiful waterfall at the end
Beautiful trail. Took off one star because I broke my nose on the rope swing.
Great hike with a swing and a waterfall. Can get crowded particularly on weekends.
One of my favorite hikes. Really sad the swing broke. New swing is just not in a great place.
Nice hike that has a lot of wild flowers, and it’s not to steep.
Great place to go hiking or whatever, but the road up is pretty rocky and bumpy.
Great hike for the dogs that is shaded and has plenty of water. I couldn’t ask for more.
One of my favorite trails! Love that there is water the whole way for my pups
Super fun and easy! Mostly kid and pet friendly on the South Trail. Fun rope swing too!
This hike is an all-time favorite. It’s especially great to do in small groups.
The south side is where it’s at, you get shade and water and neat rocks to climb on. The north side is a steep barren wasteland.
Great hike that hugs Deuel Creek for 4.5 miles. Moderate in difficulty, a bit tougher in the snow/mud.
Great hike! Lots of shade and beautiful vegetation.
Great hike. Fairly busy. Was colder in the morning than expected on a warm day.
Good hiking and a good workout. The stream and shade makes it some cooler on a hot day. Best part, no bicycles.
Good place for a morning hike
Great place for hiking, riding dirt bikes, ATV’s, even Mt. Bikes. BUT the road getting UP there is bumpy and had to put the Truck in 4-Wheel drive.
Moderate difficulty hike along a beautiful creek. Rope swing and waterfalls make this hike worth at least one go.
Pretty much a spectacular trail. Kid friendly. Right up by the ” V ” in centerville. Its also got lots if 4wheeler access nearby and mountain bike trails.
fantastic hike with a rope swing about a mile from the trailhead and a waterfall just past 2 miles. there can be lots of traffic on the weekends.
A sight for sore eyes!
A great hike, and suitable for most (except little low riders on fresh snow days, like my girl Stormy!
Although there is a small dam right here it’s a pretty good trail to hike. It’s moderate and only 2,5 miles in the the end of the trail.
Great trail. One of my favorites in Davis County. There is a rope swing towards the top that is fun to to on, just don’t swing in to the tree.
One of my favorite hikes. Nicely shaded and there is a fun tree swing around the half way mark
Great trail for families and dogs. Not a great trail for bad hips, bad ankles, bad knees or other walking problems. Not paved and not obvious trail for some of the hike.
This trailhead would be hard to access in the winter, the little road that leads up to it is pretty rough. Summer is fine for most vehicles, but 4wd even may not be enough if it’s snowy or icy.
Hitep the North Trail came down the South Trail. The beginning is a little bit steep for the first half. Not terrible. Enjoyable short hike. Took us about 55 minutes taking our time
Beautiful short hike. Great alone or with kids.
The access road is pretty rough though- while it can be traversed in a sedan, I recommend having a higher clearance vehicle.
Lots of motorized recreation at the trailhead so keep your dogs and kids close. Trail is really well maintained and not that tough – great for families. There are also a few places to BBQ along the trail.
This is a way fun hike. There are a ton of bees, but for the most part they will leave you alone. My kids would have done the swing at the end, but because of the long line chose not to.
Awesome time as usual love 4 wheeling here in the jeep and the trooper!
Now is a good time of year, but in the summer there’s too many bugs, too many snakes, too many people, too many kids. Ruins it. I often read posts of people complaining that dogs aren’t on leashes like they should be. Well I come up here so …
Great dog friendly trail. Moderate difficulty with great tree coverage. Really cool swing about half way up. The waterfall is not quite the end of the trail but a great place to stop.
Great hike to the rope swing but the rope has been moved closer to the tree and not as easy or fun to swing on anymore. About 2.5 miles round trip if you turn around at the rope.
My husband and I go here, not to hike, but to go “Jeeping”, or “Crawling” our Jeep Commander and our Trooper II!! Splashing through the mud, and puddles, and rock climbing our trucks! Love, love, love going up to this area. It’s so …
I love this trail! It’s perfect for a Sunday hike, because it’s only moderately difficult at select points, requiring very light bouldering. Sundays are also low-traffic days in Davis County, so that’s a plus. However, I dislike the …
Very pretty trail, a little difficult in some spots, but worth it (especially since there really aren’t many doggy poop bags past those points). Some people like to leave bags of dog poo on and off the trail, not a lot, but it’s pretty gross cause a lot of people go here, but other than that its nice.
Duel Creek is a great, well trafficked trail with an awesome rope swing a few miles up. The trail has river access the entire way up. It’s well shaded and good to hike and trail run, year round.
Great trail to a rope swing (1.15 miles) and a small waterfall (2.35 miles). More technical than most in the area, but not as steep as others. Watch out for poison ivy late May to August. You can get a passenger car to the trailhead in the summer and fall if you drive carefully, but higher clearance is better.
Really great trail with beautiful views and nice shade for almost the entire hike. The trail follows a stream for most of the hike to Deuel Creek Waterfall, so there’s plenty of fresh water for your pup. There were a few muddy spots and a …
It was quite awesome, I definitely plan on coming here again. Even though most of life is dead during this time (November), it still had some greenery. When coming up to the trail, there were a few points where it was difficult for 2 …
It’s a good hiking trail, but you got to have a good car (better AWD) to drive here. Also the trail is very narrow, and will be full with snow in the winter. So not recommended do hiking here in winters, it’s quite dangerous.
Only rating this a 3 because it’s super sketchy with littler kiddos. My 6 year old is a pretty experienced hiker for his age. Carrie’s his own gear(well most of it). So I don’t usually need to worry. However on this beautiful trail I was …
Amazing trail. Difficult, I only hiked 1.3 miles uphill most of the trail is shaded and along the creek. There is a section of steep rocks to climb. At the end us a cool rope swing. I am told the trail continues.
My family liked this hike. Fun to be right by the creek a lot of the time. My kids afraid of heights were nervous about some parts of the trail, I didn’t think they were very dangerous but I would hang onto young children. I thought the …
Hiked with my three older children and Siberian Husky early in the morning. Peaceful trail running along a creek. Perfect weather, green, and not many bugs. The falls are gorgeous right now with spring run off. The swing has been redone with a tie down and works perfectly.
my favorite hike EVER! the swing is way cool and it’s so pretty
This is a lovely place to hike. Let me set something straight first, the drive up to the parking area and trail head is sort of terrifying because it’s pretty steep and you definitely have to watch for oncoming vehicles because there are …
We love this hike! There are a few steep drop offs right at the beginning, so it might not be ideal for really small children, but our 6 year old did fine. The incline of the trail itself is gentle and it runs along a really nice little …
Always love this hike! Beautiful, fun terrain, and quite shady.
If you want a family friendly hike covered by shade with places to play in the water, an awesome rope swing, and beautiful views, Deuel Creek is the hike for you! Bring plenty of water, watch for snakes, and maybe a 4×4 vehicle to access the trailhead. Overall highly recommended trail.
PICK UP YOUR TRASH!! We picked up these empty water bottles as we were leaving on the short drive from the trail head to the neighborhood below. They are all Arrowhead and all seem to be from the same people. Seriously??? Come on, people. We had to stop every ten yards to pick up two or three bottles each time.
We love this hike! Our 3-year-old always asks to go to this trail. Lots of shade, streams, and boulders to explore.
A cool trail . The trailhead is up a bumpy dirt road but I made it in my prius, so I guess it’s not too bad. The hike has a moderate elevation gain throughout. Bring micro spikes at least in the winter mo that and there’s a tiny bit of rock climbing. Have fun
This is one of our favorite hikes. It runs by a stream/river the whole way and is just delightful. The rope swing half way is fine for kids and adults alike!
Super fun hike! Mostly shaded. Beautiful cascading water along the river. There are several areas on the trail that are narrow but do-able and you have to scramble some rocks at one point. Look for the a rope swing about half way up, then …
This rating is more regarding the trailhead and not the trail/hiking experience itself. …
Horrible experience here. I love hiking and the outdoors. We came here one weekend for a morning hike up to the waterfall with some friends. We parked where everyone else was parked along the side of the road coming up (no signs saying no …
Great hike once you get past the parking area it gets more and more beautiful.
This is a fun little trail. It is easy and not to popular. It has a cool creek you can hike along and a waterfall to check out. Great spot for a quick hike with the dog.
Magnificent, close, moderate trail, that I took my grandchildren on. Ages 16, through 11.
They were mesmerized at the butterflies, the plants, the birds, and especially the water.
Awesome trail. Saw a Moose once. Used to have an AWESOME swing but the last time I went someone had taken it down. Haven’t returned since then…
Great trail. Beat the heat and enjoy the beautiful Creek. The kids (10 & 12) both did fine on the trail, it does get a little sketchy in areas but if your kids are agile they be fine.
The best place to hike ! Lots of shed and good enough for 4 hours hike total !
Beautiful, shaded and cool. You meander along Deuel Creek for roughly 2.75 miles up to the falls. A few steep sections to watch for. A great hike for families.
Such a beautiful trail. I hiked to the rope swing with my baby in my back and it wasn’t too bad. I heard that was the half-way point to the waterfall. In May it is wonderful with wildflowers everywhere. Thank you to whoever built all the sturdy bridges!
Beautiful canyon hike, there’s a slide early on that the trail has been sort of repaired, but is a little sketchy. We only hiked up to the swing, my kids had lots of fun on that. …
Not to difficult of a trail, but careful driving up to the parking area as there are a many pot holes. Follows the stream and gets some nice open views at parts.
SUCH A COOL HIKE!!!
Has all the elements you’d want — rock climbing, bridges (11!) over water, an amazing swing, and waterfalls! …
Fun trail! Nicely shaded so it keeps you cool in the summer. Good for hiking or trail running. Nice steady climb. Rope/chain swing about 1.3 miles from trail head. Waterfall 2 miles up. …
First time hiking this trail and it will not be our last. The pups had a blast in the creek on the way up and the falls were an awesome spot to hang out.
Awesome shaded hike. Moderate difficulty for children. Just over 2 miles one way. Really fun rope swing waterfall at the end.
Super nice trail that can be done in sandals. Quick trip from car to Creek, but interesting enough to make it worth the trip. Park at trail head or park at the bottom of Hill in the neighborhood for some challenging hill climbs.
It was a very shaded trail with a nice creek running right along the trail. Not too hard and dog friendly. There was a rope swing halfway up the trail to the waterfall.
You need a truck or jeep to get past the steep, rutted, rocky road. There are also some holes in the road in order to get to trailhead. …
The canyon is beautiful and I’ve taken my family there many times. However, as a word of caution, In 2020 Davis County Search and Rescue has pulled many people out of this canyon with broken or twisted ankles. The trail is narrow, twisted …
Love the little waterfalls along the creek and the big majestic waterfall at the end. The shade provided by the trees makes it nice on a hot day. The flowers and trees and the aroma of mother nature gives along this trail is so peaceful. The fun part is the rope swing!
I’m not sure if I can describe how amazing this trail is. Lots of creek crossings via bridges and magnificent foliage. It is also a bit crowded for my taste, but the fall colors are spectacular. Plenty of Golden coin-shaped leaves, in and …
Beautiful trail with little traffic the two days I’ve been (weekdays in the morning and afternoon). Walking alongside the stream is very peaceful. It’s only a couple miles long but with the elevation gain you feel like you’ve done more than …
The first part of the trail is not very shaded, is narrow at spots and has some pretty big drop-offs, so be careful. We took our kids up and they really liked it. This trail has plenty of shade, waterfalls, rocks to climb over, nice clearings. So much fun!
This is a great trail! I went last Sunday early before the late morning rush a friend and I. This trail is great for families. I enjoyed the shade on most of the trail, the water was relaxing while hiking, cool bridges, beautiful flowers, …
Great hike with just enough tree coverage to keep you out of the sun for 90% of the hike. The swing at 1.5 miles in was fun. The waterfall isn’t super close to the trail, you’ll have to venture into the thicket to get close. Lots of wildflowers along the trail.
Great canyon hiking all year round. The rushing water is very pleasing. There are a number of water falls of various sizes all along the canyon. A fun feature is the rope swing.
Moderate hiking with a lot of shade. Kid friendly and the swing is amazing!!! I could not go until the waterfall but next time I hope I can do it.
Great moderate trail but mileage may vary when you go.
Prior to going the photos of the falls looked spectacular. When I went the trail …
We live real close to this hike and love it so much! a stream next to you the majority of the hike, very shaded, a fun rope swing, and gorgeous waterfall at the end! highly recommend and not too challenging!
Love this hike, easy access, just enough of a challenge with a great reward at the waterfall. I love that you can either choose to drop below to view the glory of the entire falls, or hike above and sit above and take in the sights and …
Super-awesome trail in early spring with snow and ice along the way. Will go back. Great views and a swing hallway up! Waterfall at the top was fun as well, with iced forming around it. Can’t believe I didn’t know this trail existed!
Excellent hike! Loads of shade, a clear path with nicely groomed access throughout, and a few nice stopping points that make the journey overall well worth it. Be sure to stop at the makeshift rope swing, loads of fun, literally! Also, the …
