Cottonwood Springs went above and beyond my expectations for treatment! The hardest part was making the decision to come, once I was here I’m so glad that I made the decision to have my treatment here. Everyone I met was so kind and …
I did part of the outpatient program(s) and thought it was a very smooth process throughout. Lots of help with any task and making sure everyone was healthy and establishing healthy habits and critical thought processes affecting individual …
Cottonwood springs inpatient was great for my detox and their outpatient program is very helpful to keep my mind in a positive space. The staff are very nice and truly care about the patients.
Love Dr. Willey and Dr. Wambugu and the therapists Alexis and Sarah! And nurse Hailey!
If you or your loved one (the only people who would seek this type of facility) are in need, avoid this disgrace to the mental health community at all costs. From intake to termination of experience, receptionist to whomever was acting as …
I went here and really got the help that I needed.
Great Staff! Highly recommended.
DO NO HARM
The staff are wonderful!
got good help friendy staff
They care about money. Period
I was there in 2017 it saved my life
Terrible billing staff… made the entire billing process way to difficult. And they hardly ever call you back
Great place, great people,, thank you Dr. Willie, thank you Caitlin, thank you Holly,, safe place, would recommend this place to anyone who needs help
Staff was very nice, and the hospital is very accommodating to my needs.
Addiction is a horrible disease…this place is the only place I’ve found in the Midwest to learn coping skills with it.
Worst place in the world. Nobody even tells you what is going on with your loved ones. Rude nurses and terrible doctors
The programs are outstanding, the staff is highly qualified and unbelievably caring.
Calm in take and the staff is very helpful with mental illness.
Very friendly and professional. Saved my life. Great staff, great care, and great food.
I had the best therapist Stephanie she was amazing
ariel is great. always keeps a lively discussion combined with his vast knowledge of the brain.
I called to check on the admission process. Staff was very helpful. Smooth and easy. Plan to work with the in the future.
If you are looking for non-judgmental help, this is a great facility. The food is wonderful which also helps! the staff is in this with you and is outstanding help.
Drove all the way to Olathe from Topeka and sat 2 hours for an assessment, just to be told they wouldn’t take my insurance.
great facility and excellent staff all the help and tools you need to learn to cope and live a clean and sober life i highly recommend them and am thankful for all they do.
The PCA and R.NS was amazing and the food was good and I learned a lot about my PTSD and other things I need to work on I thank them for all that did
TOO MANY BAD THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE TO WRITE. THEY DON’T HELP, THEY DON’T CARE AND ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY. THE TREATMENT PLANS DON’T WORK AND THEY DON’T LISTEN. THIS PLACE MAKES YOU WORST AND A WASTE OF TIME. RUN!! PLEASE DON’T COME HERE IF U NEED REAL HELP UNLESS YOUR MAYBE AN ADDICT WHO NEEDS TO WITHDRAWAL.
This is a terrible facility only in it for the money. Do not send someone that you love and care for here. They will invalidate what you are feeling and then kick you to the curb.
Complete BS! Turning away people who OBVIOUSLY need help and their primary doctors AND THERAPISTS are recommending treatment at this facility, you spend an hour and a half and don’t scratch the surface of why they are seeking help, saying they do not pose a threat to themselves or anyone else…. THAT’S WHY WE ARE HERE!
Great Staff! Very Helpful if you are in a crisis and can’t seem to pull yourself up. Regardless of all the limitations you will read about, it is helpful and I would highly recommend that you get yourself some help here. They will see to your everyneed!
great care providers ,nurses , medical, its overall a safe place for patients and the cafeteria is really good , the people care for your needs and is attentive to them also
I didn’t know what to expect when I came here. I was sick and needed help. The staff IMMEDIATELY welcomed me and took care of me like family. I’m leaving today happy & sober!
Most disorganized facility I’ve been too… few staff that were actually engaged with myself or other patients Intake and discharge were a mess not conducive to my recovery at all and they need to address financial issues and insurance …
I have been to cottonwood springs four times every time was an awesome experience Dr Dave Willey is a special doctor with something in common I won’t go anywhere else if I’m ever in need again ..oh yes the food is great
Cottonwood springs is top notch. I have experience at other hospitals and there is no where else I would recommend for either inpatient or outpatient therapy/treatment. Cant say enough good things
Cottonwood Springs is the best most helpful place I’ve ever been to. They have helped me tremendously through my suicide ideations and depression. I couldn’t have found a better place!
Complete failure. No communication even though I asked multiple times. Daughter came out worse than when she went in.
Went in to see what programs they offered, before we even knew what was going on I was forced to stay as a voluntary patient and my husband was threatened to have police called. Definately a FOR profit agency.
Even though my insurance was an issue, the staff here were all so very friendly. They are very cheerful and informative. The building itself was very cozy and clean…xoxoxo
Horrible place. Waited 3 hours for a 10 minute conversation with someone to tell me they couldn’t help me as I’m leaving in tears. They also lost my purse for about 30 minutes when I was trying to leave.
I owe so much to Cottonwood and the people who helped me while I was a patient. I am now TWO years sober! It’s an awesome place, with caring therapists and doctors. Thank you.
My friend I brought here is alive. I’ll give them credit for that, especially Dr. Willy. However, I will take my next friend somewhere else because I personally don’t appreciate being treated like a criminal when seeking medical attention for someone I love.
I would give 0 star. They are unprofessional and also just recommend patients what medication they should take. This place is a joke and avoid this place if you want to get better. Lastly, they need to hire some smart and professional people.
good mashed potatoes, therapy’s alright too
I have been here more many times. Everyone from the CEO every one really nice. They help with peope who come back. Every one in the kitchen help when i had a special. The doctors are alot of help too.
I wish I could give this place zero stars. Terrible doctors and disorganized staff. The doctor never had time to speak with me and all they would do was keep prescribing a bunch of meds. If you don’t take your meds you don’t get out so I …
This is a horrible place. I had made an appointment for the outpatient group therapy intake session. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes past my appointment time. I had decided to leave but was not allowed to leave until I completed a safety assessment. This is not a place of healing do not go here for help
This place is amazing I’m getting the help I need!
Cottonwood Springs is the only adult behavioral facility I would trust to send patients to for treatment. From the minute the intake is initiated through the program and outpatient if necessary, the team has a professional manner and …
The PHP and IOP programs here are great. You learn so many coping skills to better control your daily life when struggling with depression and anxiety, along with medication management. They also have a substance abuse recovery program which seems to be successful as well to those I’ve spoken with.
Cottonwood Springs is, in my opinion, the best psychiatric hospital in the KC area. There is a positive vibe to this place, not just with the patients, but with everyone who works here.
started making me take 9 times my dose of NRI medication until I told the doctor that it was going to kill me. Staff was really nice otherwise.
Great staff gave me the treatment I deserved, made me feel safe and welcomed. I had great groups where I learned a lot. Other facilities need to learn from them if they want to really help.
the people I met there were from all walks of life e everyone with tbier own individual story..The staff was amazing. and very caring .the stay taught me about thiN gs that I didnt even know about myself..overall I feel like I …
Could not have asked for better care and a more caring staff. The campus was nice and clean. Fantastic food too. I would definitely recommend Cottonwood Springs to anyone who needs their services.
I give this place 5 stars hands down! I would give more if Google would let me. I love this place and the staff is amazing. Food is excellent and the building is always so clean! Everything I have learned, and the programs they offer have …
Very simply put this place is outstanding! A very caring staff. I have been several places over the years with poor or no results until I found this place.Laura is always available to answer questions, as far as that goes the entire staff …
Horrible stay, Dr. Sitzman couldn’t keep his hands to himself. I’ve reported him to the Kansas Board of Healing Arts. If it happened to you, please report him. The PCAs were great, bright spot in the whole nightmare.
It’s certainly good to know that Olathe and the Kansas City area offers such a holistic approach to assist individuals and families seeking resources for treatment. I have an acquaintance who referred me to Cottonwood Springs because she said it was the first time her family member felt they’d been treated like a human being.
We waited over 2 hours for my spouse to be seen and he went back to the other waiting room and was never seen by anyone. If you or someone you know needs help, DO NOT GO HERE. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They let people who need help sit …
I came here today to learn about the program and they locked me in when I was ready to leave after waiting an hour for somebody to talk to me and nobody came so I was ready to leave for another appointment but they refuse to let me leave.
This place is not only a scam they have the worse personnel in the field.
I felt I had come to the right place from the minute I got there. I was shown around and told the rules. The entire staff was professional, friendly, and courteous and I feel like the counseling was helpful in all ways. The opportunity to go to IOP for 3 weeks after was also a really good thing to do. Would recommend highly !
BEWARE: Do not leave your belongings with them – you will find things missing.
They will attempt to admit you against your will for financial profit. I recently only came for group counseling and decided to opt out at the last minute. …
I was just a visitor but have heard RAVE reviews of the services. The building itself is relatively new and the decor was on-trend and attractive. The staff that I had interaction with was kind and helpful. I have come to the conclusion …
Inpatient provides a wide spectrum of group counseling while the Partial Hospitalization/Intense Hospitalization group programs go in depth re: a wide range of mental issues. The staff is very dedication and go above & beyond to help. I would absolutely recommend this treatment center!
Stay as far away as possible. 7 months later we are still getting new bills from this place after being told that we are paid in full numerous times. This was and continues to be the worst experience possible thanks to the terrible people …
Had a great help last time I was there 5 27 16 to 6 3 2016. Had great dr Burd took time to listen and explained and he said if I didn’t sleep 3 to 4 days to come back. I couldn’t get my meds and everything else. There was a few bumps but …
I would give them 0 stars very bad place to go to staff very rude you get treated poor
I’ve been going to off & on mental health facilities for over 20 years & hands down, without a doubt i unfortunately spent over 2 weeks @ cottonwood & have NEVER BEEN SOOO DISAPPOINTED in their medical doctors as well as their staff & …
I have had excellent attention given from the first phone call, through admission process and during treatment. Any concerns were addressed immediately and to my understanding. If you have any behavioral health need, struggling with mental …
As if people dealing with depression/mental illness don’t have enough to deal with. Insurance hasn’t been billed yet or even paid anything, you discuss financial payment with patient and has only been in facility 2 days. Yes I know …
They gave me the help I needed. Most of the staff are absolute angels. My only complaint that there was never any one-on-one therapy during inpatient stay, but I know how incredibly hard they work and how busy they are. If you have the attitude to help yourself, they will give you the resources you need to get help.
Went here for inpatient as well as intensive outpatient for drug & alcohol rehabilitation. Staff was kind, knowledgeable, & sincerely devoted to helping me establish a foundation for a lasting recovery. I cannot thank them enough for all they do. Highly recommend to anyone seeking help.
I’m very grateful for Cottonwood Springs. The PCAs were very attentive and the group environment was surprisingly uplifting. I definitely recommend this for anyone with depression. Just don’t go in expecting a lot of one on one care. It’s much more group based.
Worst hospital experience I have ever had!!! Like said in the reviews, looks luxurious from the lobby, but get in the locked unit it’s not so great. They strip you of your patient rights, I came out worse than I was when I went in. Most of …
I would not recommend this place if you are just wanting an assessment for their Intensive Outpatient Program. I took my Son on a Saturday for an assessment and ended up leaving after waiting two hours as they are extremely understaffed on the weekends.
It was very difficult to see a therapist. There’s no plan of care. I was verbally attacked by my therapist during one of my meetings he told me that I just cried when I can get my way because I want to talk about how I could be discharged. …
If you are looking for a joke, you have the right place. An immediate family member of mine was admitted for a suicide attempt, drug addiction, and multiple suicidal threats. They released her after just 4 days. Someone close to us died the …
I was in a very desperate place when I was looking for a detox/recovery center. Cottinwood springs was exactly what I needed. The Nursing staff was attentive and caring. The therapists and group leaders really give it their all. But most of …
I am going to say because of what I saw my son go through that this just a place that push pills onto him and no true therapy. My son took his life after 2.5 months it didn’t help him at all. The pills that were prescrib for him did …
Felt safe, ok Psyciatrist, met some friends. Some staff were great, some ok. Dr messed up on how he wrote my meds so was given an antipressant at bed with sleep meds, when it should have been st 4pm. Didn’t sleep that night
Sister was released without a prescription, was told the doctors were too busy to fill it. One month to stabilize her just for her to go days without medication, causing her to be admitted to another hospital? Cruel.
Took my family member here for help and they refused to release him even though he voluntary admitted himself. It has been 4 days and they still won’t let him go even though he is not, and has not ever been a threat to himself or anyone. I …
The psychiatrist was worthless, complete air head. Barely spent anytime w/me. I asked to be admitted but they would have regardless & only out for ins money & don’t genuinely care about status of pt. Came home to mail from ins deny them …
amazing staff and therapist wonderful dr.s would recommend this place for sure
I really liked cottonwood and it was a great help to me and my mental health journey. I would say though that if you are considering cottonwood you have to go into it with open eyes. If you want to get the help you need or want then you should also be willing to try too.
They would not accept my sister despite stating active suicidal intention, this was due to not accepting her insurance. She waited 7 hours to hear this. I am shocked and she is still suicidal. This is unethical and dangerous. Screw this …
Bad place, little to no help. Services are designed to help there bottom line more than people, to the point of what I can only call insurance fraud. Constantly losing paper work and disconnect between patients docs and keeping approved …
I would give negative stars if I could. Showed up on Friday for individual help with PTSD and was locked up for 3 days, no one listens to you at all, and even when they do it’s for 5 minutes with no results. You basically have to fake your …
If I could leave negative stars I would. DO NOT send anyone you love or care about here. They are awful people. My daughter needs her meds readjusted and they want her to check herself in back in for in patient care to do this. Its completely ridiculous

It’s a beautiful thing to watch patients get better. This staff works their butts off for this line of work, mental health isn’t simple and criteria is very tricky on services(patient bill of rights). Don’t be afraid to call before going so …

Very caring staff. Easy to work with and flexible. Highly recommend
My wife has been inpatient there for a couple of weeks. Don’t go there at night staff needs to be retrained. All I have got is nothing but complaints about them from her. Day seems to better. Better get it together
Very good program. Very detail oriented, with great communication. It has been an eye opening experience in a good way. Its good to see peers and staff interact, while seeing improvements, not only if ones self, but in the peer group …
When I first arrived things seemed to be okay. But then you find a couple/group(6-7) people that are in their own little clique. They were much younger(early to mid 20’s) so there was A LOT of drama until a few days after one certain person …

As someone who has visited this facility multiple times, on three separate …
I just spent a week there and I have mixed feelings about the place. There is no individual treatment. It’s all groups which did not help me much. It’s also very much a cooperate hospital. They’ll meet with you about payment on your first …
A war zone. Therapist is basically a person who plans your discharged. Doors to patients rooms always stay open. No privacy. Staff ignores patients. Staff is rude, uncaring. Patients yelled/talked/cussed 24 hour seven.
I can only say that there was two doctors and a nurse that was helpful during my stay in mid January of this year. Otherwise this place is extremely overpriced for rude and inconsiderate staff that doesn’t care much more than a pay check. I …
Very disappointed as a family care member, Leslie for inpatient discharge planning was a real horror to talk to she hung up on me because I questioned her professionalism when speaking of the patient at hand. She was the worst person I have …

I’m so grateful I came to Cottonwood Springs. They do an amazing job impowering patients to learn coping skills, medication management, and advocating for themselves. I was able to go from a place of extreme stress and paranoia, to feeling …
Absolutely horrible place. They are clearly in it for the money. My loved one went for PHP and was conned into signing a form to be stuck there. There is no structure, “therapy” is whenever they get around to it. There is a schedule but …
This might get very long, so we’ll see how many of these I have to create!
In August 2020, I was inpatient at Cottonwood Springs in Olathe, KS. This was …
This place traumatized me. I was in the psych ward. At least we got to smoke and the food was good, and most of the staff were nice. But I wouldn’t suggest this place, there are other facilities out there. I would look elsewhere unless you have no other option. I won’t speak on the detox because I was never there.
If i could give a 0 I would, this company is a joke all they care about is the money nothing else is a factor. They had me inpatient and would not sign off on my fmla paperwork. So now i have to drive to them to cause havoc just to get papers signed just a mess.

I wish I could give zero stars. I went in for a evaluation. Spent 2 hours doing intake. The last 5 minutes they decide to tell me that my insurance won’t cover all of the fee and that I would have to pay over 244.00 dollars in order to …
I had a psychotic episode and was taken to olathe medical center for evaluation and they sent me here. By the time I arrived there I was stable and not a threat to anyone else or myself which I told them repeatedly when letting them know I …
Don’t go! Two bad experiences. No one cares. When insurance runs out patient is out the door. After trying to reach someone for 6 hours today, they called saying my son was “discharged” and if I didn’t pick him up by 4:00, they would call a …
I had a great experience with their outpatient services. Insurance and billing can be a challenge but that’s universal when it comes to mental health services, in my experience. The therapists were really talented and made a huge difference …
Went through rehab here best decision i made in my life and currently going thru the mental health program, also life changing
Really great group therapy. If you are looking for a non-judgmental place to open up, this is the place for you. Everyone here is really easy going and super open. Thank you Cottonwood Springs!
I would give 0 stars if I could. I went and had a terrible experience with the staff, the best part were the other patients. It honestly made me worse, really. After the fact I’ve been trying to reach the business office regarding my bill …
Stay away!! I admitted myself inpatient and wanted to leave once I saw how horrible it is here. I had to wait so long to see a doctor to see if they would let me leave. Finally eventually they did and I lied my way out. Thanks for nothing …
If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is so unprofessional and disgusting. People come here to seek care and they don’t have the slightest regards for patients. They just want your money. The receptionists are rude. If you’re looking to come here for care, don’t.
My first time seeking mental health outside of regular therapy. I’ve enjoyed every day I’ve been here
Loving the experience. From PHP to IOP to discharge. I feel accomplished and ready to maintain my day to day life again with my mental health as a priority.
My group facilitator, Ariel, made group interesting, fun and informative. I learned so much from my time at Cottonwood Springs. This is my second time through the outpatient program and I’m glad I came back to Cottonwood for care.
First time they hadn’t a clue as to what they was doing second time I thought they had an idea about what to do. boy was I wrong. staff needed care just as much as the clients. They’re two-faced , triangulating on and on and on. I felt like …
A 4 hour intake with a client is unacceptable! Customer service, communication, and treatment are completely inadequate and mismanaged. This place is a disgrace to those who need mental health supports and to their support team/family who try to manage their care, especially during discharge planning.
Absolutely vile treatment from staff. From intentionally misgendering patients, insulting and demeaning every conversation to the facility itself. My first day there i was given a room with a bathroom and a shower in it as well. I had to …
They were unsafe. They did no body check on me. Just looked at me and said just tell me where your tattoos are. Asked if I had shoelaces, but never bothered to look at my feet to see what was holding my shoes closed. I was never asked to …
I wish I could give this facility a negative review! My son went inpatient last week and I was in the dark about his mental healthcare the whole time until he was discharged. As a mother you want to know everything that is going on with …
My experience here was an eye opening one. The Staff and therapists were amazing the techniques I was taught really helped me realize things I had taken for granted and the communication skills taught by Patrick really helped me reconnect …
This is absolutely horrid facility. The people that work at Cottonwood Springs couldn’t care any less for the people who seek assistance. On two occasions, I waited nearly 2 hours for a consultation. When I wanted to leave, I couldn’t …
Scheduled an appointment for a tour of the facility. Me and my mother went together. A family member was seeking treatment. We wanted to see if it would be suitable. …
This place will never get a positive review from me. I have a family member who is currently there. The staff is horrible. Several times while on the phone with my family member I could hear staff yelling at and berating patients. The staff …
I am an attorney and I was repeatedly denied the right to see my client at this facility. I sat in the waiting room for over two hours prior to a hearing, regarding my client, and was repeatedly denied entry. Kansas law specifically …
