Dental Select Reviews ( 81 )

  1. Good service, fast and prompt. Although, my question was not anything extremely difficult. Miss Jackie was courteous and professional. Thank you

  2. Needed my benefit info so i could go to the dentist . i wasn’t sure on what i needed to do or call to get my information but Julie made my experience so easy and quick

  3. Whenever I have called Dental Select from our dental office with a question or concern, the Customer Service Department has handled them quickly and courteously. I always get the answers I need!

  4. Website and app features do not work well at all. I tried to use the website customer service chat feature and no-one ever responded. I can’t use the website to find an in-network provider.

  5. Have reached out to customer service 3 different times about a problem logging into their online portal, and, despite each person with whom I spoke saying they would resolve the problem and reach back out to me, the issue still hasn’t been resolved, nor have I ever heard back from them.

  6. Dental Select are very willing to help resolve and insurance claims issues. We didn’t have a very long waiting time on the phone either. That is a definite plus!!!

  7. This is the worst dental insurance I’ve had. They don’t pay claims quickly and I had dental offices calling me for the payment since the hadn’t been paid by dental select. Awful customer service. The reps were rude and condescending. DO NOT BUY THEIR SCAM

  8. Five stars just because I’ve never had an issue with them! After so many terrible experiences with our health insurance, I’m so grateful that I’ve never had to even make a phone call to Dental Select…they just process all our claims and I don’t have to worry about it.

  9. This has been a great insurance company to work with. Very friendly staff always helpful with every question I have and I never feel rushed when I’m calling on an aging claim or getting a breakdown. I never fret when I see I get to call them for a patient.

  10. For the past 10 days I’m trying to see my plan details on their website but when I click on my plan details or ID cards it never open and hang. After seeing many reviews I doubt that their service will be horrible too.

  11. I have been trying for MONTHS to get a claim paid. They continually have excuses for why the claim hasn’t been paid, or they “need more information.” It is ridiculous! Do NOT chose them for your insurance coverage, it will be a nightmare. I wouldn’t even give one star, but I have to to be able to post this.

  12. Dental Select is commiting fraud. We are opening a case with the Insurance Commisioner of Utah. They purposely don’t process claims until after the deadline for submission then say that the claim was submitted late. We are taking all of our evidence straight to the state

  13. Scam…when you call their office for the fee schedule i should use, they told me it will be UCR fee schedule since i am not in network with them. after i sent the claim, they pay me based on some other network fee schedule. They always say …

  14. So they have excellent benefits and cover everything. Just about every dental office in my area accepts the insurance. When you call customer service they are super nice. Brenda (my rep) answered every question I had and she was super courteous.

  15. I am a dental assistant student, and i am currently learning about insurances. I got a homework assignment where I needed to contact my dental provider and have them answer questions about my plan. Mara hopped on a live chat with me and …

  16. I didn’t receive my dental insurance card at the beginning of the year. I have tried to access my insurance information through their portal and by calling customer service. I keep being put on hold for almost an hour, where I then get hung up on. I’m paying $60 a month and not getting access to what I’m paying for.

  17. Impossible to reach anyone. Hold times are constantly over an hour. They never send the information they are supposed to. We have requested the same EOB and benefits twice and still haven’t gotten them ! And what’s worse is prior auths are …

  18. I generally have not had any issues in the past with Dental Select’s costumer service until today. If you are going to call someone back as a representative, I would think you would need to actually be ready to hold a conversation AND maybe know your product-even if it is insurance???

  19. Do you want to pay “way more out of pocket” at the providers office? If YES , then you should go with this insurance as they will THEY WILL LOOK FOR EVERY WAY to avoid paying claims and ultimately patients will have to pay out of pockets. I …

  20. Horrible company. You have to submit claims via mail or fax and that doesn’t work. I mailed my son’s out of network claim to TX like they said and that was a month ago and they don’t have any record. The customer service people can’t help …

  21. Having the same problem as many of the other reviews. I have their insurance through my employer and they continue to deny my dentists routine check up claim. This has been going on for almost 6 months.

  22. Legit one of the best and easiest insurance companies I’ve worked with. I can’t count how many issues I’ve had dealing with different insurance companies over the years, but Dental Select had excellent customer service with simple plans. Seriously, pick Dental Select and you won’t regret it!

  23. Worst money I have spent in any insurance product. Waited 18 months to qualify for a crown and that are paying for way less then they said they would when I originally signed up. Would have paid less if I had just saved money I spent for coverage. Don’t waist your money the other 5 star reviews are probably employees of the company

  24. We have this dental insurance because it is offered through my wifes work. We had an issue with them paying for our 19 year old daughters dental work. They claim that they dont cover your children ages 18-21. So ok we will cover that. Then …

  25. They are horrible! My children where double insured and they would never pay until they heard from my dental insurance yet they were the PRIMARY and they had been told that and given paperwork over and over and over again! It took them a year and a half to pay my dental office for my daughters wisdom teeth. So infuriating!

  26. The WORST insurance I have ever worked with. They are so stupid. I have literally been told something different every time I’ve talked to them over the phone. Same goes for our dental office calling them. …

  27. Find a different provider. Anytime I call in I have to wait on hold for at least 15 minutes. The few people I’ve talked to on the phone don’t know what they’re talking about, constantly having to put me on hold to “go ask”. With how much I …

  28. This is the absolute worst insurance I have ever had.
For starters, they will randomly change your monthly premium without notice. I never received my “Member Card” in the mail, and so I was never able to create a …

  29. If I could rate less than a star I would. They required so many other forms/documents compared to most other dental insurance providers. Which results in you having to battle with the dentist and your own insurance company for coverage …

  30. So i am new to this plan since last November and i am past due to pay my premium for January and change my billing account info and they don’t even have an option to pay your bill online and should have a 24/7 customer service but they …

  31. Over the past two days I had to make two calls to Dental Select. This was due to issues that my kids out of state dentist had caused. They resolved the issues very quickly and were very professional in handling of the matters. I spent less than a total of 10 minutes on the phone with them. This company is great.

  32. I’ve had three different plans through Dental Select over the last 10 years. They are somewhat affordable for individuals but their coverage has gotten so bad their allowable amounts no longer even cover basic cleanings, let alone any …

  33. If you want to (invest) in Fraud join dental select? We deduct your premium, our reps (are not on the same page) you are told one thing by dental select and another thing at dental office? For as much as I have paid (throughout the years) …

  34. I had dental work done almost 7 years ago. The dentist’s office told me they could bill my insurance. Lo and behold, seven years later, I am being taken to collections and now being asked to pay lawyer fees because this …

  35. This place is a scam. I handed in my termination in person to their office and they have been charging me monthly for the last year and they said I never terminated my coverage. I did it in person! They won’t refund me. They don’t accept …

  36. Dental Select does the very least possible, and sends checks to the patient to have to then turn around and pay their dental office instead of the insurance doing their job and paying the offices directly. They’ll state their reasoning for …

  37. Before even signing up for the plan, I inquired about rates and fees of what would be covered or not. They sent me a confusing list of numbers and figures, none of which made any sense since I hadn’t had any prior dental needs. It’s been …

  38. I’ve made an account but unable to login to their website. I also went to check their provider list and zero dentists are on that list. Came here to see if others experienced the same thing only to find consistent horrible reviews. I hope my new employer can ditch dental select and sign up for a legitimate business

  39. Submitted a claim with all the requested information, the agent could not “read” the CPT code and said it wasn’t real (they said the D looked like a 0). I called and pointed out that all CPT codes for dental start with D and they said …

  40. As a Dental professional, this company is by far the worst to deal with. FIX YOUR AUTOMATED SYSTEM ALREADY. Dental Select, do you even have a plan to fix this ongoing issue? It has been down for over 6 months at this point. Having to wait 1 …

  41. How is this company still in business? Why does it take more than an hour on hold to reach anyone? BTW I actually haven’t reached anyone, because who has time in a dental office to hold that long? I tried to contact them on FB. They had …

  42. I paid them premiums for 6 years for absolutely no reason. I realize this was my bad but I kept having my dentist send in claims and they wouldn’t even pay a $5 claim! I kept getting them confused with my old employer plan (select health …

  43. I visited their store on 1300 west and 7800 south and I can’t tell you enough about the wonderful service I received from the young women at the register.
She didn’t try to up sell me or anything, just asked me what I needed and how …

  44. After 30 years in the dental industry, I have still never seen anything as pathetic as Dental Select. Asking providers to wait on hold for 2 hours is not acceptable. Promising a fax back of benefits that never comes is not acceptable. …

  45. Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! I am choosing to pay for insurance out of pocket. My employer is providing us with insurance through DentalSelect but I would rather pay money out of pocket than to have to deal with these terrible people. The …

  46. ZERO STARS! Beware! Horrible insurance. The only safe way to know what they will cover is to get a pre-authorization, and getting one from them is almost impossible. Then they deny everything. I actually had a claim denied because the …

  47. This insurance company is a joke!!! I was so excited when my husband switched jobs and his new job offered dental so we could have 2 dental policies. That was short lived. I have to call in EVERY TIME (usually multiple times on each visit) …

  48. FIND ANOTHER PROVIDER.
