Poor Customer Service from Michael. Also why is there an option for Spanish speaking customers if all you’re going to say is that no one there speaks Spanish?
Call them to discuss why my bill was double the amount, had bad connection and the lady decided to hang up on me in the middle of the conversation. Very rude and not helpful with my needs and concerns.
Exceptional customer service and ease of transaction! Not sure why so many negative reviews as I’ve ALWAYS had a great experience when calling EWEB for anything!
I have always had great service when I have called customer service. Once I reach someone they look up the information that I am looking for and promptly answer my questions.
a rate increase of 8% is completely unfair and cruel to us on limited fixed incomes, we have all folowed your directions to conserve and use less of our resources and now you want penalize us with another rate increase, your ideas of use …
Awful. No other words to explain. The world’s worst customer service. Good think they’re a monopoly/public utility. Otherwise their customers would vote with their feet and leave!
Really rude representatives that talk over you and interrupt while you are trying to speak. Oh well, it’s not like they really have to strive for any kind of pleasant customer service experience…I mean where else are we going to get power from?
Could be the most corrupt and poorly run public utility in the nation…I should know I worked in there Electric metering department. They knowingly overbill their customers because they have NO integrity whatsoever……STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!
Payments kept getting declined/rejected despite nothing being wrong with my account. No notification whatsoever that the payments were getting rejected. Just a completely non-functional website.
If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst water company in this state and they charge you so many extra fees that it DOUBLES your electric and water bill.
It’s the fact that people complain about paying, even though they waste money when it is in surplus, that payment costs a taxable fee homie. Good ole EUG mentality. Eweb has a mind for the future and we are paying for so much more than just power to the machine.
Eweb is a rip of they are a evil menoply that cares about no one but them selfs rates are some of the highest I have ever heard of its a shame that they cant charge more realistic rates like sub in springfield does
I didn’t have any problems with EWEB while I was their customer, however I have had a lot of problems with getting a letter of credit from them. Their communication and customer service is poor.
Even if you’re calling to switch the electric to your name and always pay on time the customer service is still rude and condescending and will put you on hold for long periods of time if they feel even slightly disrespected.
Eweb is a tyrannical company! I tried to get service and they denied me because I had a late bill 17 years ago! The masses of People need to stand up and not take this kind of behavior from this greedy corporate villain! There’s more of us then them, yet we allow them to be this way…
They were happy to answer any questions that I had. They admitted to a power surplus and trashed solar. They are expensive and entitled. They have no clue that the people own the resources they sell and we are not their servants. 2 stars.
Interesting thing. I turned on my heat all day cost around 90per mouth. And on the second mouth I turned on my heat like 10 hours per day cost 150per mouth? Wait? What? How? Why?
Not only was the person who initiated my account NOT a surly moron, she THANKED me and WELCOMED me to Eugene. It’s amazing to have a PUBLIC utility, as opposed to a Portland-style exploitation factory (read: PGE).
Leaving eugene just so i dont have to deal with getting robbed each month! I ran my ac in the summer but am using wood to heat my home in the winter and my bill is still 300+!!!
Too expensive. I want to move back to Springfield where my community-owned utility board, SUB, charged me $40-$50 for a month of water/electric while running my air conditioning unit constantly
It’s really unfortunate that there’s not another utility company around. Eweb would lose 90% of their customers. The prices are outrageous and the customer service is terrible. Seriously considering a move to Springfield just to avoid them.
The bill is way too high for never really using anything. I seen someone say that this is an area for low bills. All I can say is that is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. I’ve normally never paid over $100 for water and electric …
Got some great customer service on my call today regarding my concerns about the possible impact of the weekend heat wave on our solar hot water system (most likely none)— thanks!
One word. TAXED! And what’s makes it even worse is that the EUGENE Water & Electric Board has a mailing address in Vancouver WA. They already put wear and tear on our system from living in Vancouver and working in Portland… now they …
Over priced, dont work well with customers, outrageous deposit prices, they will rob your with your money any chance they get. Eweb is the only thing in eugene that makes me hate living in eugene. Eweb make it horrible for ppl to live here and livable. Your offers and pathetic and ridiculous. Idk how you ppl sleep at night
awful. online pay is the worst I’ve ever encountered. Pretty sure they did that on purpose so that people would be more inclined to pay the fee charged for paying over the phone. The execs of EWEB should go walk into traffic.
The worst experience ever. This idiots can’t even get their website to work properly, and they bounce your payment if you make it on the day they are transferring their servers. I just called to get help with setting up my account after …
Eugene Electrical Services came out to my home as part of a home warranty to deal with an issue with a breaker. The professional electrician was very polite and fixed the problem in short time. Additionally, this electrician also changed a 3 prong dryer outlet to a 4 prong outlet.
Bad customer service, poor billing information. I tried to call and ask for the adjustment billing information but they didn’t give me the correct one. Besides that, they are very inpatient about the customer, I would definitely not use EWEB if I don’t live in Eugene!!!
They charge WAY too much and have no sympathy about late bills and they will shut you off just like that. I wish we had another option. Makes me want to move to Springfield just for a better electric company.
The worst place on planet earth. Like there are prisons that give their inmates more fairness than eweb. Literally a monopoly that makes up rates at will. We have thought of moving our house to Springfield…not just move to a new one but actually move the whole house. It would cost us less to do this than pay their outrageous rates.
i have never lived in a place that had such high rates!!! I freeze to death in my house during winter and my bill is still over $100!!! and i hardly ever turn on my heat pump or even pellet stove. I can’t believe it!!! I’ve talked to …
Always had a good experience w/EWEB. 35+ year user and only good things to say. For a public utility they do a good job and the folks in the field have gone out of their way to help at a couple of our rentals even when it was not necessarily their issue.
Threatened to shut our electricity off after we paid almost $300, said the payments didn’t post in time and they don’t check their automated payment systems before sending a shut off notice. Made us pay another $250 to keep our electricity. The most unethical company in Eugene.
Did you know that the CEO of EWEB pays himself $250,000 a year? You could play golf all day everyday at the most expensive course in the world and still have enough to buy a new car every year. I can only assume the CEO plays at least …
During record snowfall and numerous power outages and trees down, their trees fell at their water facility off Hayden bridge in Springfield blocking the road and almost taking out the power line on the other side. One of the trees fell on …
This company is crooked. We moved out of our apartment at the end of August and then I get a phone call the day before Christmas eve saying I owe them $200 and it was going to collections if I didn’t pay. They’ve been charging me this whole …
$157.00+ to heat a 900 sq foot apartment in the bedroom only at night, and daily only in the living room in dec-jan for a few hours . ( we never leave it running constantly ) My last bill after the winter storm, this past 2 weeks, was …
Most expensive utility company I have ever seen. More expensive than California, super cold Missouri and anywhere else in Oregon. If I had known how much of a rip off they were I would not have bought a house in Eugene and instead would …
The hall is currently closed to the public but there is not notice in web or google map. I came here and it is closed in the office hours. Amazing how they are not open to the public as the pandemics is ready done.
Paid my electric and water bill.
The clerk/cashier was helpful enough.
Although he seemed not to know the scope of their utility . He made reference to …
If you think your electric bills are high now, the legislature is on the brink of passing a mandate for higher renewable energy sources. A little known fact is that in prior years they defined hydro as a non renewable! So with EWEB …
Just look at the other comments. Shitty, condescending customer service. Lady had the nerve to talk down to me, then couldn’t even adequately explain what a smart meter is. Also read me someone else’s account info. Good job /s. If you are …
This is the biggest example of cooperate greed I have ever seen in my lifetime! My bills run 500.00 month in the Winter due to bad wiring in a rental home and I am on Disability with a fixed income. There is zero flexibility with this …
My daughter has some mental disabilities. She went and got assistance from LIEHP. She had a late notice and was concerned about losing her power as she has a $2000 Humira shot in her frig. Alden was our customer service rep. She was …
These micro power outages should have never happened in the first place if EWEB actual did their job and trimmed the branches surrounding power lines like they are supposed to. I am so sick of all the issues I have had with EWEB and having …
Just signed up for EWEB. A $15 Account set-up fee? I’ve NEVER been charged to get set up an account to get a basic need. Imagine if you had to pay $20 just to enter Albertson’s or Safeway. And WTF! They need an emergency contact??? I …
iI have been an EWEB customer for 48 years and they have done a fantastic job for the most part. energy conservation programs are generous beyond expectations. rates are very reasonable if you look at other locations although that is partly …
I have lived in multiple states, cities, and countries. I can honestly say that EWEB has got to be the worlds worst utility. Their customer service has got to be the worst I have ever encountered. Their billing rates are always going up, …
I’ve been living in Eugene and using EWEB for over 10 years. Years ago I might have given EWEB a higher rating. Back then my bill was consistent and reasonably priced. Back then when I made a change in energy usage (either less or more) my …
About 2-3 years ago, EWEB increased their base fee, from about $7 or $8 UP TO OVER $20… So essentially they TRIPLED the base fee in one swoop. I’m not ok with that BS, and furthermore, no warning? I asked them why I wasn’t informed at …
I have lived in Eugene now for over a year. First off I live in a mobile home, so the walls are not that thick, but other than that I, (you) can make changes to how you use your power and water. This last winter I put heavy plastic on all …
My boyfriend and I, both students, live in a pretty small one bedroom apartment near campus. And holy hell, these EWEB bills are killin’ me. Our bills are extremely inconsistent. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re just throwing numbers …
When you go to sign up for electricity and the clerk knows about a DHS case I had open when I was 17-18. That was a long as time ago! I cried because this complete stranger knew details about that case. This man went above and beyond today …
With the recent ‘price hike,’ my average went from $100 to $160 in my 800 sq foot home, and we’re SUPER conservative about energy use. Customer service is good at times, limited hours, but emergency services are superior.
I’m not sure that the fellow below me has lived in many places. Eugene and the Pacific Northwest have some of the lowest electric rates in the nation. We pay something like 8-9 cents per kilowatt hour. I think parts of Idaho may be …
It’s safe to say that EWEB does not measure the utilities used by a property and they just throw numbers around. July was our first month with EWEB and our bill was about $146. We thought that that was high but we had been using the air …
Moving from Washington and new to Eugene this is by far the worst company I have ever encountered with. If we had a different route we would take it, absolutely absurd and ruthless when handling customers. I can’t even believe no other …
Worst utility company out there. I fell behind on payments when my fiance lost her job. They called me asking for their money. They said I could do a payment arrangement. I offered them $300 a month on a $500 bill and they wouldn’t accept it. So much for trying to pay my bills. No these guys want to raise their rates???
I pay my bill a year in advance with my tax returns. In February I give them $600 plus and it last me until the following February. Never have a problem. Everyone is friendly when I go in there once a year. Lol yeah they are higher than Springfield. You have the choice to live where ever you want.
For the second time, I received a Past Due notice when I never got a bill recently. Solution – set up eBilling, right? Forget it. Their website is a disaster, and Bill Gates could not get it to work. The obvious goal is to have the …
I have lived in the same 1100 sq ft house in West Eugene for 15 years. In the winter my EWEB bill ihits between $4-600 a month. Very rarely do I ever see a bill under $200, even in the hottest summer months. There are 3 people living here, …
Eweb is the best utility company I’ve ever dealt with, and I’ve lived in two towns in PA, including Philadelphia, as well as a small town in FL. They give you 12 days extension to pay your bill! Phillly shut off our power just bc we were …
If I could, I would give negative stars to EWEB. Firstly, we pay 150% for service as our neighbors in Springfield and rates continue to climb. They charge hook up fees, processing fees, seasonal fees, and the list goes on. No wonder they …
I am a new customer to EWEB and had stacked up 3 months without a payment. (Shame on me) I had not received a bill from them during this time and mentioned it to my spouse earlier in the week. The next time I get an over due notice so I …
Live on Polk St. Called to report a leak at 7:30 am. Backhoe, dump truck and vacuum truck were done with a five foot deep repair by noon. Courteous and competent field hands. Let the children watch and explained each step.
A little hard to understand why one would have their power cut off for being 20 days late on a bill, but with EWEB it happened. I wasn’t even 30 days late, no warning, no door hanger. They wanted to charge the 3 months in advance, I …
I have COPD and a heart Condition. I woke up with no electricity. When I called I couldn’t get past the machine. Just to bad I couldn’t give a negative rating. That’s what they deserve.
If i could give them negative rating I would. There was an issue with there account not being able to pull payment and they charged me 25$ twice without telling me. Rude customer service no support what so ever. I had tried to pay 3 times …
Closed except to make payment at Dropbox… Night security harasses us in our tents by ‘brighting” and talking stuff to others by phone making it loud and obvious… Sitting at the entrance with bright lights on our tent… Great security …
Ive had to have eweb for years now and they are terrible. They charge you an outrageous amount compared to SUB, the people working customer service are extremely disrespectful and apparently if I dont pay my bill right now instead of at …
I moved apartments 6 months ago, all I wanted to do was transfer service from my old apartment to my new one. I literally moved NEXT DOOR to my old apartment. I didn’t think it would be a difficult request. 6 months and a million minutes on …
I was surprised to see all the negative ratings. I’ve had a few mild issues over the years, but for the most part I’ve had positive experiences and as has been noted, the rates are lower than many if not most of the places I’ve lived. …
I have had a pleasant experience with Eweb in the past and especially one time when a woman name Meena or something at the front desk gave me some advice on how to handle my bill because I was struggling as a student. The prices are high …
Great customer service! 4 out of 5, because they permanently closed the lobby! I used to like to come in and pay my bill, even though I can do it online. I liked seeing everyone’s office flair, smiling faces and the random surprise freebies you would get for coming in. I hope yall are doing well you will be missed!
Fraud & rip off. Way overprice, overcharge people & they even shut my power off because they said i was short $38 on my payment last month when i pay them $250 monthly, other than the $38 short i am current & they shut my power off! I wish there’s other power company in Eugene because EWEB is fraud & could careless for anyone.
Hands down the worst customer service I have ever received next to Comcast. They then tell me that it was my fault for not calling them (which I did while sitting at American Title). Aside from the terrible way I was treated, the billing …
Get a person on the phone–everyone I’ve spoken with is competent and friendly and fast and know what they’re doing. The phone menu is just awful though. You have to “Press One” or “Press Two” four times just to report an outage. But …
Horrible wait times, along with a poor notice and billing policy. Currently waiting to speak with customer service, who knows how long it will be. Their phone system is tough to hear and sounds like it was recorded in the 70’s. Calling …
The price for heating 1 small bedroom and turning on a light or two is $350 for 1 month! But other months it’s $250 for the same thing. Still way too high. I’m a Eugene native and EWEB is one of the top reasons I’m moving out of the area. …
I’ve always had a decent experience with EWEB. The only time I had trouble with rates had more to do with the terrible, inefficient wiring in my apartment. But I’ve always paid on time and they’ve always returned the favor, waiving fees for …
Absolutely the WORST customer service. I can’t even begin to explain how bad my experience has been working with EWEB. After ending my service at my address, I moved and had been anticipating a final bill at my new address. Never received …
This company robs people by charging unbelievable amounts for electricity and they are the only option in Eugene so they can continue to do so without losing business. My electric bill has reached $399 for a month with three people in a two …
I don’t even know where to start. I feel like EWEB is genuinely out to ruin people’s lives. I received a bill, and there was a past due amount of a little under $200, so I called the next business day to pay said $200, when the customer …
Because I can’t do 0 stars. I was robbed $1400! Eweb has hardly been on top of it. If it weren’t for me checking my bank statements I’d never know, they said they’d reach out. They don’t/didnt. I’m highly disappointed and filing a police report. THIS IS GRAND THEFT.
They weren’t sending me any form of bill for my current address to either my mail box or email and then I get a phone call out of nowhere saying they are gonna shut me off unless I pay 300$. I had only been living in my apartment for a …
Will give 2 stars because the services were consistent. However, the customer service is less than acceptable. Please fix your website as the “stopping a service” link online leads to a web page that only allows you to START a service. …
Aside from horrendous prices my biggest complaint is customer service. I was told that they no longer give “courtesy reminder hangers”. I’ve been with Eweb for my entire life and this came as a surprise to me. Mind you I may have had 3? …
I was warned and now I know why. It seemed odd that my bill was sorta low when I was running the A/C during 100 degree heat. Now I get a bill the says I am using more then 3 times the amount I was, without the A/C or fans?
I promise you that I’m not a person who typically is unhappy with services. But today was one of my worst days in Eugene. Apparently, we were late paying (we genuinely did not get a notice in the mail, if we HAD gotten that, we would have …
EWEB has always been responsive to my various issues. I have had a couple interest-free loans for upgrading windows and putting in a heat pump. They also helped me through a major water line break and refunded some of the resultant high …
I paid twice in 1 month (in total about $456.00). For the second $230 bill they said the reason why it’s so high is because it wasn’t safe to have someone come out and read the meter. So they charged me 3 times our normal bill because they …
Got one email notice that they were changing their entire system (which went to my spam folder, which is not on them) so the first that I know of a complete overhaul of their entire online system, which is breaking their old system in the …
I am currently living in Portland and trying to move to Eugene. I drove over 2 hours down to get to a 2 minute appointment to verify my identity. I was not given an address and simply told “you can’t miss it”. I am unfamiliar with Eugene …
So I first want to start off by saying that I used to struggle with liking eweb, some policies I do not agree on but I believe they can work to be a better place. I just want to give this review based off my experience I had tonight. So I …
I am not nor do I live in Eugene. I do not have an account with these ppl. But I tried to help my sister and nephew get their power back on. I was on hold for 30 min. and never talked to a person. So while they sit in 100 degree heat, I was …
The customer service representatives are as nice as can be. They just seem very high in my opinion. I lived in Springfield and i paid about $200 less a month in utilities and its 15mins away. …
Update: Years later, same BS. How can my power go out so many times every year!? The transformer RIGHT in from of our house has blown twice in lass then 3 months. Get it together. …
I have been an EWEB customer for 55 years and they always done a fantastic job of service and mostly a great job at keeping costs down. Eugene rates are among the lowest in the country. all hail hydroelectric power.
EWEB had to replace the utility pole in front of our house, which was so old it had a two digit serial number. They were great to work with. They gave us plenty of advance notice of the work and the planned outage, their staff answered questions about impacts on nearby plants, and they did a very neat job.
This is how EWEB leaves things in front of your house. Been called in and complained about numerous times over 8months. Still nothing done. EWEB is really a bad company that does not care at all about its customers.
Always prompt and easy to deal with. Power has never gone out in 4 years. My water meter sprung a hugely and they were out to fix it the same day. I utilized their window loan program to install new windows. Excellent work! Also give the EWEB building to the science center please.
to expensive
outrageous rates
Way to much $$$
Needs regulation
Excellent service
The worst!
Eugene Water cures cancer
Eugene water cures cancer
Terrible customer service.
you suck and everyone in town agrees.
Prices are crazy,
Should be illegal
Horrible horrible service!!! Overpriced and unorganized.
I wish this was more affordable.
The rates are very high and keep going UP! Too much
Great customer service!
This website is terribly designed. And the electricity bill is too damn high!
Them people are always work in g hard and ready to help
Always nice when i go in and so helpful!! And understanding!!
Friendly and efficient customer service.
Monopolistic parasite of a company. The city needs to do something about these guys.
They are always kind and helpful.
website and e billing never work, rates keep increasing!!!!!! I spent the last year bundled
Terrible customer service, tried to call to get power back at my house and they didn’t do anything.
To have a company like this in charge of utilities is horrendous. They ruin lives.
I would rate them lower if I could. This company is incompetent and a bunch of thieves! Customer service is horrible!!!
Hands down I agree with horrible customer service. Oh hold for forever!!! You want payment! Please answer your phones!
CUT MY POWER OFF FOR NO REASON THEN SAY ITS GONE TAKE 6 HOURS TO CUT IT BACK ON!!!
Customer service reps are the rudest.. I hate calling in. If I had another choice I would switch in a heartbeat!
Been sent to collections twice from this company. I have never had eweb service.
It’s unbelievable how high their rates are. Unfortunately they have a monopoly thinking of moving to Springfield.
Double what people pay for the same amount of power elsewhere. Rude customer service and ruthless business practices.
Absolutely worst customer service on the Market! AVOID at all cost. Will steal money from you.
You will be on hold until the end of time. Customer service is a joke. Hire more people!!
Why is my bill due on the day that I receive my bill in the mail?
I would give EWEB zero stars but that isn’t an option. Worst ever. If you can avoid EWEB do yourself a favor and do it.
Poor Customer Service from Michael. Also why is there an option for Spanish speaking customers if all you’re going to say is that no one there speaks Spanish?
Most overpriced utility company I have ever seen. I don’t trust their billing either.
I am always pleased with their service. Friendly and helpful people.
They say EWEB belongs to the people but they operate like any other utility company. Customers don’t matter.
Working with EWEB has been very nice. Customer service gives me the detail I need to move forward.
We needed a quiet place to plan our wedding.. sweet benches over looking a pond full of water bird’s
Anytime that I have gone into pay my bill, the customer service was just fine. No problems.
They charged us a $700.00 deposit based on last years use at this address and we just bought the home 24 hours ago.
Call them to discuss why my bill was double the amount, had bad connection and the lady decided to hang up on me in the middle of the conversation. Very rude and not helpful with my needs and concerns.

Really rude representatives that talk over you and interrupt while you are trying to speak. Oh well, it’s not like they really have to strive for any kind of pleasant customer service experience…I mean where else are we going to get power from?
EWEB is terrible. They charged me a piece of notice paper work for 15$. “a notice which sticked on my front door then 15$ is gone to them.
Always very pleasant to deal with. Had a bill that accidently didn’t get paid on time and they were very understanding and had no penalty.
christina had a serious lack of manners on the phone

Slick don’t like service companies but they are considerate of people, very fair, and not bad customer service honestly good.
Too expensive. I want to move back to Springfield where my community-owned utility board, SUB, charged me $40-$50 for a month of water/electric while running my air conditioning unit constantly

i have never lived in a place that had such high rates!!!
Eweb charges you for water run-off.
I also read a report that the electric meters used by Eweb maybe over or under …
Did you know that the CEO of EWEB pays himself $250,000 a year?
No wonder they …
They will shut off and leave you without power for hours in the middle of summer without warning just to hook up power to a 7-11 at the corner
Would recommend not moving to Eugene, simply for the fact that you will have to do business with this horrible company.
So they charged me 3 times our normal bill because they …
Literally the worst online payment system I have ever used.
Power out for hours with no estimated time to repair. What do you expect from a government run monopoly. terrible service.
They do not care about customers.
They have a monopoly and they know it. It should be outlawed to have a monopoly like this. …
They charge you for all the extra power you use in budget billing after you quit the service. Want me to pay them 355 dollars smd
