Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative (FLEC) is a non-profit member owned utility providing electricity to portions of Blount, Loudon, and Monroe … See more
Worst company you will ever find. Horrible customer service and still very much in the Stone Age. Unfortunately they have a monopoly and unless you are off the grid, these are the “people” you get.
I need power in the middle of the night it says system down for maintenance call back after 12:15 am…..called back 36 times after 12:15 am before it would let me through…..company’s system is junk
These women that work there are very rude and some even snotty, they are no better than anyone else ,I think they need to read their reviews and do something about it
Never had any issues with this company and have always paid my bill on time in person, because I do not like paying the online convenience fee of over $4 which I think is ridiculous so wouldn’t it make sense during a pandemic with social distancing being encouraged to waive the fee!? 🤷♂️ …
Never gives a notice when their gonna be turning off ppls power to work on a poll. Your supposed to give a notice informing residents of the community. But then again that would a common sense thing to do. Clearly y’all lack that.
Ayo Turn my Fricken power back on I’m done with this its been 2 days with outage my fish are about to die without a water heater ill make yall pay for it too
The most unintelligent, arrogant people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. If there was any other option for electricity I am positive they would be out of business. They are rude, unhelpful and dishonest.
FLEC has NO programs in place to help customers with their bills during the pandemic and continuously increases their rates, leading to double and sometimes triple precious, similar usage months. This place needs to be investigated.
Change your office hours on the website and on the door if you are going to be locking the front doors at 4:19. I had to drive from over by West Town Mall when I got off work, only to find a locked door. Need to tell people that you may not be open till 4:30, just say 4:00 👍 …
Never had issues with the company. Good experience all around. When power does go out wait time is from 30 min to 2.5 hrs. Usually on the low end. Prices are competitive. I prefer co-ops to big elec. co.’s any day.
They wouldnt have any business if there was another electric company around. My light bill has always been a steady $70 and thats with electric heat. Now that ive switched to wood heat I have a $211 bill even with having one of the warmest winters i can remember.
Huge shout out to Fort Loudon Electric. I’m the new outreach worker for Volunteers of America we help house homeless veterans. Keri is always a blessing and so helpful. Thank you for allowing us to place our flyers on your community information table!
One of your drivers tonight at 6:30 decided to almost run me and my children off of the road by tailgating us to the point with where we had not even one car link between us and they turn their brights on and drove right up on us for about …
Been with Ft Loudon Electric Coop for several years now. Always prompt service any time there is a disruption. Prices seem reasonable. Much better customer care than some of the big companies I’ve been with before.
Absolute WORSE COMPANY EVER!!!! Power went out when the first drop of rain fell at 2am. It’s now 7:15am & STILL NO POWER!!!! They work on their own time & that’s exactly why they are the most disliked electric dept in all of Blount/Louden County!!
This months bill was 280 .Got my bill yesterday for February its 306. Bad I’m useing kerosene I don’t even have my got eater Heater fuse in .and no oven .and i do not belive the they have came to check this Electric smart meter. I’ve …
This review is for their line clearance contractor and the customer service department. They recently had their “tree contractor “ Strickland tree service out clearing lines in our area they have this machine called a giraffe a very large …
While the employees have been friendly, my issue is with the billing. First off…it cost 450.00 bucks to get the power turned on. Second…even when I’m not using the power, my bill is sky high. It’s crazy! My heat went out this month so I …
For the past 2 weekends our power as been off and I mean off for hours. We live in a very rural area and depend on this power to operate our well and all the other items. I had bragged on FLEC, but I’m not bragging anymore, I am tired of …
I have a few mixed emotions for this company. Mark has always helped me and has compassion for customers. 2019 for me has started off rough. I requested an extension, was told no I am on the disconnection list for today 1/16/2019. They …
Where do I begin? So much is wrong here. Deposits for new service are insanely expensive. Especially since there are many in this area living below the poverty threshold. The employees in the office are rude with the exception of a couple …
They are crooks! They charge what ever they want…my bill this month is $350! I call to ask why and they say “it’s cold and my heat is using more electricity” the only problem is I use wood heat! When I told them this they immediately had …
My power goes off regularly. Usually for a couple hours in the morning when I try to get ready for work. This happens least every couple weeks since I moved into my place in the summer like clockwork. Their billing system is dated, with …
I’ll give three stars, which is being extremely generous. I don’t expect that this review will make a difference at all but here goes. I’ve lived at this location for two years and the power seems to go off quite often. More then any place …
This utility company consistently sends me my bill AFTER it is past due and then tacks on late fees and threatens to disconnect. I got a phone call today, July 17th saying my utilities were getting cut off and have still never received my …
My family has had a wonderful experience with this company. We have been very happy with all customer service (both for billing and for actual power and electric issues). Getting our power turned on, when we first moved into this area, …
I have never, in the dozens of States I have lived in, had so many power outages and fluctuations in my service. I would truly rather produce my own power, than have to rely on a company that resets my alarm on a nearly daily basis… My …
I don’t understand why your phone reporting system keeps going in circles you have my phone number in your system all I am trying to do is let you know that the power here on North Sequoyah Drive in Friendsville is flickering on and off and …
Tuesday: passed electrical inspection and now ready for FLEC to come connect power to new home construction. Physically went to FLEC to pay the 700$ fee and alert them of the coming inspection report. Told by the receptionist to call her …
This is the worse electric company there is! If the power goes off it’s gonna be off for hours! Actually it’s off more than it’s on!! It doesn’t matter to them if you are on oxygen or other life saving machines. Flec get it together and get the power back on!!!
The worst light company ever. They are outrageous and when the power goes out you cant report it because you cant get ahold of them. There are hidden fees on your bill that you only will see if you pay the bill online but if the bill is mailed to you it is on it. The employees are rude and disrespectful.
Customer service at this business is non existent. The office staff is rude and condescending. Also, they charge a fee to pay your bill over the phone/online. They could care less about the people in this community.
I dont know why but for some reason Fort Loudon Electric Cooperative can’t seem to keep the lights on. Our power has gone off twice in 3 days. The first time was over 2 hours. The 2nd time the power actually came on then back off very …
Our power goes out around 8-10 times a year. That is not counting the little 5 second blips of power lose we get that resets literally everything in the house. Just got power back on after 15 hours of no power…an 18-wheeler took out a …
After over a year of having service with Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative, the usage has dramatically increased. In an attempt to figure out daily usage and handle energy drains, I have called a few times to inquire what certain days’ …
It is absolutely ridiculous that on CHRISTMAS EVE they do “mandatory outages” there are people freezing at home that do not have a fire place. it is 9 degrees or lower in tn. So stupid.
Had a power outage in the evening and they came out that night and fixed our line in the dark and also fixed our transformer I hit with my tractor! Very nice workers! Couldn’t be happier with FLEC!
Customer service is least on FLEC’s mind. They recently suspended bill payments via People’s Bank, then proposed that we customers set up automatic payments via (wait for it) our banks. We are told to use USPS to mail our payments; one of …
3 power outages by 10am on Xmas eve, this is getting ridiculous. I heard about roaming power outages but this is terrible when it is 10 degrees out. Very unacceptable and very unhappy
This is the worst electric company I’ve ever seen in my life and I have been all over the world. Third world countries have better electric system than Fort Loudon electric we lose our power at least once a month here which is totally …
First of all having power is almost essential but these “ladies that work customer service” are always rude. Blackouts light 5 to 7 times a year. And I’ve never paid so much for power! This place has a monopoly and they use it to milk wallets
Very hard to reach and deal with. I contacted engineering before the holidays about moving the high voltage primary line from across the driveway on an older property we just bought in greenback. I spoke to a young engineer who said he …
Absolutely rude. My wife called to get a explanation of our late fees and was told if she wanted to know about late charges then she should have paid on time. She was told she talks to much. Etc the lady that answers the phone is one of the …
Very undependable electricity! Solar panels are looking better and better!
they are wonderful to work with
Overtime guys are great!
These People in the office are EXTREMELY rude.
Power goes out all the time.
Bad Customer service
Crooks!
Ridiculously high rates. poor customer service. frequent power outages
Great service
A horrible company. Out for money and that’s it. Pay your electric bill and they still cut it off. Ridiculous
Never a better example of greed. Bunch of crooks. If there was a choice for another company I would so drop this company.
They helped me when i needed a couple of days longer to pay my bill
Power is always going out and they never answer their phones!
awful. power is out all of the time.
It’s not a cooperative as it states.
Fastest response times, best experience I have ever had with a utility company.
Worst company you will ever find. Horrible customer service and still very much in the Stone Age. Unfortunately they have a monopoly and unless you are off the grid, these are the “people” you get.

Sorriest electric company I’ve ever had to have. Moving in May and will not move anywhere that is required to use this garbage electric company.
