  1. I will NEVER put my care in the hands of those who try to force their employees to vaccinate against their will.
I hope they lose needed staff and patients!!!!

  2. I can’t believe in this day & age that there are more resources available that the hospital would send a patient home worse then when they were admitted shame on you LGH.

  3. This is the most poorly mapped hospital. I was looking for dining room #3 for an AA meeting and couldn’t find it. Also when I took the elevator to the second floor, I couldn’t get back on because the doors locked behind me.

  4. This will be my for time at Lancaster General Hospital as a new patient I’m having my wisdom teeth out there I might have to stay the night because I’m having major surgery done on my mouth the oral surgeon is doing bone grafting.

  5. Horrible service. They DO NOT care. Took my husband there for a severe back problem. He couldn’t sit, stand, hardly walk. He paced the lobby for over an hour. They took back a women who came in long after us because she was DIZZY.

  6. My 4 year old was seen at the ER and admitted for pneumonia. Everyone was so helpful, friendly, knowledgable, and kind. Thank you for making a scary situation, much less so.

  7. Great hospital! Very helpful staff! I only give 4 stars due to it being in a not so nice town. Other than that, i recommend them if you need medical help.

  8. Very efficient. Everybody was great, kept us well informed of what was going to happen next. Also kept my husband well informed as to how I was doing. Dr. O’Connor also talk to my husband about how everything went which I thought was great that he could take the time to talk to him.

  9. horrible service.. fell down the stairs cracked my neck but i was treated as though i was there for drugs.. was disrespected by staff a nurse moving my bed scarred my foot on the xray machine. i chose to leave and risk paralysis instead of …

  10. This is the worst hospital around even the patient reps. No one at this facility cares about anything. Your supposed to be helping people not being ignorant asses. So until someone proves me wrong this is by far the worst place ever an penn …

  11. If the Three Stooges had lobotomies and then opened up a hospital it would be a billion times better than the shitstorm that is Lancaster General.
No one seems to think ahead or talk to each other. What they have put my father …

  12. The English language does not contain enough words to properly express disgust with the socialist agenda and practices that have infiltrated this once leading hospital. Avoid with your own life, or that of a loved one if you are able.

  13. Excellent but for a very few nurses in Neuro Trauma ICU. Dr Bradburn, Dr Dziurzynski and the Excellent Trauma Team saved my daughters life. In 2020. Exceptional care and Excellent doctors. The nurses and staff, the Anesthesiologists …

  14. Need to tell their workers to mind their own business. And stop running their mouths about the patients in the hospital. And going into their rooms with out permission just to be nosey. Yes I said it.

  15. You would think a child with a head injury would go right back to a room. No it’s been almost 2 hours and we are still in the waiting room. Already went up and said something but they still make you wait.

  16. Today August 2019 had the greatest doctor ever , he was very caring and had a sense of humor . And when I thought I came to a dead end due to my insurance he stepped in and solved the problem , Hope they keep him around !

  17. This place is horrible. I’ve used this hospital all my life. Time to change. The place is dirty, the care is horrible, and all the staff are extremely slow!
Last year I came in with extreme pain and high fever and they sent me home …

  18. One of your nurses stole our drivers tip money. A customer asked to be called when the driver arrived and said he’s sending the money and tip with one of the nurses. The nurse pocketed the tip money in front of the driver. The driver called …

  19. One more example of modern medicine and where it has gone wrong. Things keep getting bigger and bigger! The left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. I felt like a rat in a maze when I went there. My nurses were awesome but otherwise not impressed.

  20. Have a 30 year history of migraine headaches. Only once before in those 30 years did I seek urgent care for a headache that my migraine medication did not work. Was treated by the ER staff like I was an addict looking for narcotics. …

  21. On July 21st, 2017, on a very hot Friday afternoon, I had the extremely and enormously unfortunate experience in the Medical facility located at 555 North Duke Street, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in the Lancaster General Health Emergency Unit, …

  22. ER is a joke, if you have an emergency that is not life threatening (or at least you think is not) call an ambulance thats the only way you will avoid 3 to 5 hours wait time, went in today with possibly the worst migraine headache in the …

  23. I wouldnt step one foot in this hospital. Pretty sure the doctors at this hospital got there degree from a cracker jack box. Husband was admitted three times only to be sent home and told he has pancreatitis. York Hosptal admitted two days later and was told within 2 hours cancer on his spine.

  24. Worst experinces(plural) ever. My insurance pays for a free physical per year. Both times they billed as regular appts because i brought up a health concern. Apparently when asked Do you have any concerns?, ask for a list of items you can talk about. Even better yet find a competant health service.

  25. Never recommend this place on any thing. For any one. Doctors are rude. Nurses aren’t the best of moods. No remorse for those that are in pain.
Dont handle people well like they dont care. …

  26. Was sent home 6 times from E.R. after coming in hunched over unable to stand up, sit down, lay down, ect. I was in the most pain of my life and they kept saying it “might” be a UTI. Turned out I had an infection in my lung which caused a …

  27. I broke my ankle and needed emergency surgery. Everyone from the doctors to nurses and patient care associates were so kind, patient and helpful. Excellent treatment!!!

  28. Was just visiting at the hospital as patients are allowed to have two caretakers. Place was always clean. parking is his parking garage is as it would be at a busy place like a hospital. Employees were very helpful

  29. On Sept 16, there was a nurse named Chris on the 5th floor. My mom was passing away and he was there the whole time, making sure that she was comfortable as possible, answered any questions I had, and overall was just really genuine and …

  30. This place is disgusting. Its full of fresh out of school nurses and doctors who got their degree out of a freaking cereal box. They have no idea what they are doing. They dont care whats going on with you, they just want to slap a …

  32. Worst hospital to go to when looking for help, I waited in the waiting room over 4 hours with a temperature of 103 and rising. They show no care for human life. Lancaster general is just all looks nothing more. Then when they did take me …

  33. Pretty terrible overall experience. Long waiting times (4 hours there, spent about 25 minutes in an actual room). The “Doctor” came in and spoke to me for approximately one minute. I sprained my ankle VERY bad and they didn’t offer me crutches. Never will I come back here.

  34. The billing department at LGH is absolutely horrible!! I received a bill and paid the amount in full and then got a final notice letter a few weeks later. So I called them and they saw that it was “applied to a different payment plan” so I …

  35. Very friendly MRI staff, especially Denise Hollister. She was very helpful throughout the process from start to end and made my father and us as a family feel welcomed…Although cafeteria cashier was rude and impolite.

  36. Awful came in a lot of pain. The wait was long. Then when they put me in a room the wait was even longer. I came out to ask where the bathroom was the nurses texting, talking looked up and look back down. No may I help you? I stood …

  37. No matter what we come here for, the wait is extremely long. They tell you they’ll be back with discharge papers, then next thing you know it’s 2 hours later and your still waiting. It’s extremely hard to find someone that will listen. LGH just continues to go downhill.

  38. Received bill from LGH dated 9/16/18 for $106.03. Bank sent check on 9/10 but customer service said they only received it on 9/17/18 (Monday) but it was not posted until 9/20 (Thursday). Accounts receivable said I had a 0 balance. When I …

  39. Don’t bring a love one her if they need critical care. My mother died do to lack of critical care no being available here. Only two nurses out of ten were great at thier jobs the rest just were not careing and not trade well GOD BLESS mom

  40. This hospital puts a lot of people through their system. The employees are the best and go the extra mile. I think both visiting hours should be posted somewhere at each floor door where entering and somehow posted the rule about only the …

  41. My fiancee was sitting with my 2 year old son, who was throwing up and had a high fever for THREE HOURS. I called and they didn’t have anyone to speak to me or her to explain why they would allow a toddler this physically ill to suffer that long with NO DOCTOR. Screw this place.

  42. Best Cardiologist and Thoracic surgeon in Lancaster county!!! Hands down best staff and cutting edge facilities!!! Love the Penn Med group and their local level of Excellence. LGH is the county’s premium hospital.

  43. Great place for what they are intended for. Helped my father-in-law after he had 5 strokes in a week then went to LRC for the reminder of the time. He’s doing good now that he’s finally home. Great nurses. Good doctors.

  44. Absolutely horrendous experience with everything associated with Penn Medicine/LGH. Botched billing, failed surgeries, arrogant and obnoxious staffing, incompetent doctors. Forget about it. They’re a total FAIL!!! I dumped all the physicians and moved on to UPMC.

  45. Doctor told me my numb limb could be fixed if I tried harder and told me I was wasting her time as if I want to be here in the first place. I didnt get taken seriously by staff until I mentioned having a doctor in my family. A few months …

  46. The front desk in the ER was efficient and friendly. The doctor and nurses were excellent – good medical care as well as compassion. We were not there nearly as long as you’d expect an ER visit to last. Quite pleased!

  47. While the wait time at the main hospital emergency center has been slow in the past, the care is top notch at the main hospital, health campus/suburnan pavillion, & womens & babies center. But as with all medical care everywhere nowadays, you or your family must be your best advocate in following up with all health care.

  48. Our family came from out of town to be with our loved one while he was in LGH. Concierge were very kind and caring during our time there. The Palliative Care Team was instrumental in the care and support we needed for our loved one and …

  52. The last time I was seen in er, I needed “comfort meds” whilst morphine withdrawal. I was treated with such contempt and disgruntlement. I was polite, patient, and persistent. The doctors I saw were knowledgeable and compassionate. It is the nursing staff that are miserable. But that depends on many different variables.

  53. 15+ Phone calls from a fax machine in less than 2 hours!! Someone needs to wake up and figure this out. You’re calling a business number and monopolizing the phone lines. Wakey wakey!!!
    Up to 18 calls …

  56. I’ve always had excellent care by the nursing staff and aids .my Drs were great explained things in terms I can understand. The only problem I have is takes too long get discharged iv been waiting 3 hrs to get discharged that’s too when people are waiting for this room.

  57. If you go to the emergency room you must be an advocate for yourself. Do not let them start a treatment unless you know that they have checked the medications you are on against the medications they want to give you. Make sure they are …

  58. I just got home. Still with a high fever and oozing puss and blood from my ear. I had to tell them it was my ear or they wouldn’t have know. An ambulance brought me Which was more comfortable then the whole visit I was at lgh a total of 4 …

  61. I was there on 11-11-20 in the OR for a colonoscopy given by Dr. Daniel Connell of Regional GI. I had a wonderful time with staff from start to finish. The front desk, the check in staff member that was in the small glass door room, nurses, Drs., Everyone was absolutley wonderful!! They all had me laughing. Great job!!

  70. Don’t take anyone with severe covid here. The doctors who observed my loved one essentially refused and argued with my family every day about medication, and every time we tried to get things to her, it took far too long to get them up to her. We are absolutely disgusted.

  71. The staff is very helpful and will go out of their way to help you find your own. They also are very flexible with payment arrangements and trying to help people who don’t have the funds to pay for healthcare. I think that’s one of the …

  76. This place has gone waaaaay down hill since the last time I was here. Transferred from urgent care and they and they didnt perform all the recommended tests.. just did the bare minimum to get us out the door. The room was filthy.. doesn’t look like the floor has been swept or mopped in weeks. It was appalling.

  77. I had my right knee replaced at the orthopedic wing here at the end of October and my surgery went amazing with Dr. Zartman, and the care and attention I received were AMAZING! 79. The wonderful staff here made the visit a lot more pleasant (at least as pleasant as an experience can be when one’s son is getting surgery!). Special thanks to our nurses Chris, Amanda, and Russell and to Heidi, John, and Kay at the Sunlight (?) Information Desk for making it a good experience.

  89. This is a hospital I trusted for everything. I went in for a normal mental hospital visit and let’s just say you should not trust your children, son or daughter to this kind of treatment. You don’t know what happens in their silent rooms before they place you in your respected hospital stay. Go somewhere else.

  93. Initially I did not have a problem with waiting over a month for a pediatric appointment for my kid. After taking all of our insurance information when we made the appointment, we show up a month later to be told they do not accept his insurance and we would pay out of pocket. What a mess of an organization.

  94. I had an auto accident that broke my tibia in three pieces. The ER took me in less than 5 minutes as a priority. The trauma orthopedic surgeon treated me with pain killer and spline etc. Since there was no blood or cut outside, internal …

  95. ER wait TOO LONG. Honestly. Waited 9 hours with my 87 year olds mom so she could have an infection looked at, but we finally left after 9 hours without being seen. I don’t know how the staff does it day in and day out. They are so overwhelmed with patients they don’t care anymore.

  96. Very pleased with the ER last night. My mom fractured her pelvis and had to be admitted last night. The care she received in the ER was quick and compassionate along with professional. As a RN I am a bit critical but have no reason to complain. I hope the experience from her on out is as positive.

  97. The system in this hospital is flawed. Doctors are great, patients show progress at a steady but decent rate, but honestly, the nurses and employees do a terrible job. I was helping watch a family member, who was in the intensive care unit, …

  111. Waited over 8 hours with heart attack symptoms and never saw a doctor, so we risked it and left. If the nurses weren’t so knowledgable and experienced I would give 1 star. I’ll go to McDonalds for medical attention before I go back here

  112. Had a Cat Scan at Parkesburg Urgent Care last Thursday. My doctor has yet to get the results. I have been in pain all week. Not my idea of quality medical care. But my insurance will get billed.
