They are notorious for delays because SFO always has either air traffic or weather conditions. Right now in the winter, Denver is having the weather delays.
This airport makes visiting the peninsula easy, even if flights are limited, especially from the eastern portion of the country. United isn’t my favorite airline, but that’s not MRY’s fault. It still beats the 1.5h slog from/to SLC. The extra $ is worth the convenience.

Great little airport. Super cool say to get to. And 10min from Monterey beach/Pier. Car rental facilities on site next to baggage claim. 1 small gift shop and 1 small coffee / snack shop on site. And a little bar. Getting thru security and to your gate takes 2min
