Customer service never answers calls. Hold times are over 1 hr. They’re constantly raising rates, while not using that money to repair the horrible infrastructure in our state.
Spoke with Sherry about getting the service switched over as a new owner and she couldn’t have been more pleasant or helpful. I did have to wait on hold for a while though.
Verbrecher, the customer service agents are unhinged and rude. NYSEG, has a monopoly going on and it’s immoral, this is not right you overcharge customers.
Payment arrangement specialists are rude. Will not help pass you to fake managers who again are rude. Dragged me around two weeks submitting information for a payment arrangement to deny me several times. No one knows how to help I’m 9 months pregnant and they hang up on me. Nice service smh very rude.
Their customer service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. No rep. knew the answer to my question. All they did was to keep telling me to call a certain number, but I could NOT get hold of a human being to talk to.
They had charged us 2 months even though we hadn’t even been living there. The payment specialist TIFFANY took our request and was extremely rude and passive. Nothing after 2 weeks. We went straight to NYSEG. The gentleman there was much nicer and turns out she didnt even put the refund request in!!!!! SCREW YOU TIFFANY.
Power outage on a cold day for over 24 hours. Me and my babies are freezing and I see no effort to restore until it’s too late. Food will spoil and we are already sick.
NYSEG rocks! Their agents are ALWAYS the most attentive and knowledgeable and their crews are always on-the-ball in terms of outages and restoration efforts. God bless Carl Taylor and his wonderful team.

NYSEG is a monopoly. They don’t employ enough people to respond timely to outages. The people need electricity options.
It is extrordinarily hard to speak to a human when NYSEG is called except if an emergency. The automated service isn’t truely helpful.

My neighborhood has had monthly power outages that last between 1-4 days each. I’ve lived all over the country and have never seen anything like this.
