Since 1928, Northern Communities Credit Union has been serving our members and our communities in Northern Minnesota. We were formerly known as the Duluth City and County Employees Credit Union. Membership is open to anyone who lives , works, worships, or attends school in St. Louis County, or is the relative of someone who is a member. Our mission is to promote member and community success by meeting their changing financial needs.

I have been a member of this credit union since I was a child. I have gotten many car loans and my mortgage from them. Great rates! Great service!
Asked the bank to stop payment from sending my account into negative and wants to charge 33.00 dollars for that service. This bank is garbage showing signs of a bank in trouble like TCF and Wells Fargo when they start wanting to get paid off overdrafts.
We had a recent security breech. NCCU staff was extremely helpful in helping us through taking the necessary steps to recover. We have been members for years and have consistently found the NCCU staff helpful and knowledgable.
Everyone is always very helpful , whether you go into the credit union or use the drive up teller.
Also, whenever I have a question or concern that I can’t take care of using the app or call 24, I know that I can call the credit union and a real person will help me.
These guys have helped us restructure our finances several times and make getting a loan hassle-free. My kids have started banking there too. Simply put, they offer great service to everyone.

I get hundreds of offers to switch to another card w/lower interest rate or transfer your cash balance every year,but none can assure you of being there if there’s a problem.Also they have a very knowledgeable and likable staff. Wouldn’t consider changing financial institutions
I have always enjoyed doing business with NCCU however, recently they have duel factor authentication and the only means to receive the code is via a phone call. I have no clue why texting is not an option like every other business. I hope they can get this resolved soon.

I have been banking at NCCUfor about 5 years. The two times I had a problem it was quickly resolved. I (or my wife and I) have several accounts there. I like the card navigation programs, ease of access and use when we’re in Mexico for several weeks each year. And for me it’s very conveniently located.
