St Charles Community College Reviews ( 74 )

  1. Extremely unhelpful, books are as high priced as I’ve ever seen. Extremely rude advisors and expect you to already know the answers to your questions. Was supposed to be attending will not now.

  2. Professors are nice but the whole system of any type of aid or registering is horrible. They never answer the phone so I have to drive up whenever I have a question 🙂 very rude when you ask a simple question, you have to wait 20 minutes before you find out you’re in the wrong place

  3. Currently going on to my last semester hasn’t been that bad, mainly because I’ve been doing online courses. But, the first semester was a nightmare and the older women in the financial aid department were very rude.

  4. Tuition is cheap and it shows. Not only is the website unsystematic, but making a payment using financial aid is nearly impossible. Professors do their job for the most part… which is what they’re supposed to do. Expect poor communication with anyone who isn’t a professor.

  5. Racist professors in the college. Business 105 Ethics in Business course. Office number TECH 205. That professor worked at J&J in the past. Told me to go back to my country, where I belong. Won’t recommend anyone to take his class.

  6. Everyone in the office is absolutely ridiculous! Everyone tells you something different and everyone is wrong. They all have bad attitudes and misinform you so much so that you get screwed out of your money or any finacial aid that you had. …

  7. I’ve never had a problem at SCC until Covid 19 its impossible to talk to anyone, and recieve any help. Ridiculous you don’t even know when you’re going to get a call from an advisor. I guess you’re supposed to just sit and wait all day.

  8. The teachers can be very hit or miss and the enrollment process along with getting aid can be an absolute nightmare. On top of that the school doesnt even care about its students for example: today it is -30 degrees outside and while every …

  9. Horrible college. Difficult to navigate online. Instructors are only average at best. Counselors are vague. Slow to get back with you over issues they have screwed up in the first place. Way overpriced for constant grief from ALL parties involved.

  10. I Have had to drop my classes so many times because there was always a problem getting started with them I was told to drop them because it would be best to start in the spring and I can’t even do that, I haven’t even started college yet …

  11. As an older, returning student with little knowledge of computer applications, I would encourage you to stay far away from taking any class with Andrea Compton. Four of the four older (over 40 years old) students dropped her class because …

  12. Classes were pretty cheap which was nice but holy cow the financial aid office is a legit jokeeeee. You have to call/email multiple times a day for a week for them to answer or call you back (and that’s IF they even do!) very very frustrating trying to get anything figured out when you can’t get ahold of anyone!

  13. The enrollment services desk, financial aid desk and the help desk NEVER answer their phones and NEVER get back to you. They never offer helpful advice. It’s always log on and figure it out yourself. Very hard website to navigate through. …

  14. I took 4 semesters at SCC before transferring to Missouri State. Their courses are high school level. You will be forced to take remedial courses regardless. They make money while you don’t get college credit. …

  15. Fairly new campus. Definitely a cultural oasis in the middle of rural suburbia. Good looking campus, nicely designed buildings and classes. Cool rec center. This place definitely has its vested interests in technology and teaching it. Great …

  16. I wish I had more options that this place. If you collect FASFA good luck this place makes it aggregating for you to receive the money. After attending this place for the last 2 years I can not do it anymore, I’m transferring to east …

  17. The admissions office has some of the biggest bad attitude rude women working there. I’m a first time student, rushed up after work to get help on financial aid and they all looked at me and treated me like I was stupid. Way to make a student feel secure in an overwhelming situation.

  18. Wow I am depressed, I thought this would be an uplifting expierence. I didn’t realize how expensive college has become. Taking just 2 classesl set me back $750. And the books another $400. For a total of $1000 They call this affordable? …

  19. The school is nice and well kept. The faculty has been nothing but nice. My lone complaint is that it is impossible to get work done on your personal laptop because for some reason they can’t keep the Wi-Fi working in the library. I have …

  20. I went to nursing school here and graduated in 1992. Fantastic nursing program. I am back for a degree in health information technology and graduate in 2014. Excellent instructors. Campus ìs beautiful. Buildings are always clean. Book …

  24. Oh where do i begin… This school has been the death of me. This school gives you the run around. Financial aid/enrollment services black ladies are rude and unwilling to help you out. Came up one day to collect my book voucher for my …

  25. How does it make sense that when we have international students that take up residence in the apartment buildings across the street that are kicked out because they’re destroying the rooms, our solution is to build them dorms on campus so …

  26. I have tried with my daughter to get her Aplus program figured out, and each time she or I go to the admissions desk/department, they seem to not really care and not anxious to help, almost as though they are bothered by her or I asking …

  27. Very good place. Some people are talking about the smell? Lake smells like that and I do like it. its not a candy shop. Some others gave 1 star rating!!! I just checked their ratings to the other places. Thats their routine. They give 1 …

  28. The professors have been extremely helpful but the academic advisors and financial aid department need some work. They seem very disorganized and they need to have a better understanding and/or have more information readily available about transfer information and what courses will be accepted by local universities.

  29. I’ve attended here two years so far and, *overall,* I’m liking it.
The cons? 1) the campus buildings are too spread out, 2) nobody tells you anything about anything (e.g. campus events, how to get a parking tag, etc) and …

  30. The classes are okay, the teachers are pretty good for the most part. But your admissions office and financial aid staff are -AWFUL- at their job. It took days if not weeks to hear back from one lady, no one at the office seemed to be able …

  31. Before classes have even begun, I have had numerous problems. Financial aid offices are absolutely useless in many cases. Went up there several times with several problems and none were resolved until AFTER the deadline they set for us. If …

  32. As for someone who’s graduated from this campus, I must say the tuition for most semesters add up to be under 1,000. Which is great cause I was able pay out of pocket, instead of borrowing student loans. I do agree to what most say that the …

  33. The financial aid process is terrible and I have encountered many road blocks. It took me months just to sort out the paperwork with financial aid. My first semester IN CLASS was good. I enjoyed the class and the teachers were great. I …

  34. The instructors here are very helpful, as for the financial aid, they can be very vague with what you need to do. I’ve had to repeatedly contact them just make sure all the paperwork was up to date. I’d recommend anyone do this as early as …

  35. Dealing with financial aid itself at this school will make you not want to attend classes here. It takes them forever to get back with you. The people handling financial aid issues are rude and unhelpful. The math department is horrible, …

  36. My daughter and several others I know of have attending SCCC and were not disappointed in the education they received. Not to mention the money they saved when navigating the college choices. Smart to start here. …

  39. I graduated in 2019 before continuing on to Lindenwood. Nearly every professor I had was among my favorites and transferring credits was very easy. I wish I had gotten involved with the music program since I’ve been to a few of their shows and had a great time, free community shows are always an awesome opportunity.
