St Charles Psychiatric Associates & Midwest Research Group Reviews ( 46 )

  1. Canceled our first appointment (that we scheduled two months in advance) at the last minute. Offered to reschedule us a month later. Unacceptable and disrespectful.

  2. Dr. Wilson took the time to listen to me and started me on medication that has helped alot. I would recommend this place to anyone I don’t understand all the negative comments on here when I had nothing but a great experience. Great staff and doctor!

  3. Ignore any one star rating you see. I have been getting treatment from these people for more than 15 years. They have a system and that system works. Because of their knowledge and expertise I have been able to live a healthy happy independent life. No one better.

  4. I have called this place multiple times now without being called back. The last time I called was today and was told their voicemail was full so I was unable to even try to set up a new patient appointment. This is extremely frustrating as I have been trying to make an appointment for over a month now.

  5. Terrible office. They are very clearly primarily concerned with research, patients are an afterthought. Good luck getting them to do things like call in a prior authorization or actually see you at your appointment time (I’ve been “rescheduling” for about a year).

  6. I have been seeing Doctor Anderson since i was in elementary school (23 years old now) and he is one of the best doctors I have ever met. I have never had any problems with this facility and he is one of the only doctors I have met that …

  7. He prescribed medication for my daughter and never monitored it. She had a breakdown because of it. They have no compassion or empathy. Office staff disrespectful. There is no emery number or anyone on call. Suggestions find another practice

  8. just letting y’all know that the service at the reception desk is absolutely ridiculous. they are disrespectful, and don’t prioritize putting client’s medications through – hope you guys understand that you’re putting peoples’ mental health …

  9. Scale not low enough to rate this office. The staff is down right incompetent. They can handle very simple tasks. Don’t trust prescriptions to be mailed when they say. Always pick them up. They lie to cover there butts, and are simply rude. …

  10. Absolutely fantastic care but their system to get refills, ask questions and make appointments is very frustrating. It is a big time commitment to get ahold of anyone at their office they would benefit from an online portal of some sort.

  11. I used to see Dr. Anderson until he started having his own health problems. I saw him for over a decade and he helped me through two pregnancies. If anyone knows anything about mental illness , pregnancy triggers …

  12. My wife has been with a doctor here for 20+ years. IVY ALWELL has taken over this doctor patients. IVY has made such statements as, “your husband has great insurance.” Then she wants to see my wife every 3 months instead of 6 …

  13. The front office receptionists and Danielle, the Dr are absolutely amazing. Very friendly, understanding, helpful, caring, patient, sweet, professional, polite, and wonderful people. I highly recommend going to this office. Two thumbs up!

  14. Previous to Dr. Wilson I was stuck with a psychiatrist who never listened to me, pushed pills on me, and treated me like I was some bad teenager selling my pills to kids in school (I am 30 and have never sold my pills) I had to change my …

  15. I can not say enough about how greatful I remain for this office and their staff. My Dr., Ashley Osborne has listened to my concerns with an open mind and deep consideration. She has certainly expressed a level of trust and kindness that I …

  16. My experience with this office and staff was alway great until Dr. Anderson left. Being placed with IVEY ALWELL was a nightmare and when I asked her to please let me speak with a DOCTOR I was dropped by this office. Dr. Mattingly is the best, I hope he doesn’t let this Alwell poser to drag down his good name.

  17. Expect your medication to be abruptly changed constantly. And by all means don’t tell them you aren’t okay with those changes or you will without warning be removed from your psychiatrist patient list 1 week before you run out of all of …

  18. Why can’t I get through to speak to anyone? Why are my prescriptions not being refilled on time? This is an extremely frustrating level of customer service. I don’t understand what is going on. Please someone help.

  19. Cannot ever get a hold of any one, they only answer phones for 4 hours a day, cannot email them, cannot sign up on their new portal to refill a prescription, and when you finally get a hold of someone they are rude and try to rush you off …

  20. Every month I try to get my medication refilled, they don’t refill it for at least a week after I’m out of medicine. I call much before the prescription is out and try to get it refilled on time and they say they will call it in, but when I …

  21. I am getting fed up. It been months since my son had been seen in person. I know about covid but this is getting ridiculous. First we almost lost our guardianship of our son because Dr.Mattenly mistakenly wrote a letter saying Dylan didn’t …

  22. After seeing my psychiatrist once. And talking to her once she drops me and then doesn’t give me a referral to another psychiatrist. This is the worst I’ve ever been treated by any psychiatrist ever. I would recommend you to not come here …

  23. This place is open for like 4 hours a day so whenever you try to contact them it’s so busy I can’t ever get a hold of them. Also, just got an additional $100 a year fee for my prescription so I need to call in to get it paid before I refill …

  24. We love Dr Wilson however, the new $50 charge every 6 months to refill controlled substances is ridiculous. The staff person told me, “If you would like to continue to receive your medication prescription from our office, you will be charged a fee of $50 every 6 months.”

  25. Why is having access to Mental health care so difficult? My primary doc sent me to a psychiatrist to get adhd meds. I got them but couldn’t afford it because it was $300+ even with insurance. I’ve been going to my primary for my anxiety and …

  26. Love Dr. Wilson but the fee to charge both kids $50 every 6 months for their medications is just not doable. Now we’re looking for a new provider. It should be illegal to charge a “stimulant fee” in exchange for a control prescription!

  27. The WORST “doctor’s” office we have ever dealt with. Started off alright with first few appointments, even though the doctor (Dr. Ivy) was always several minutes late, which led to the appointments being much shorter and rushed. Then there …

  28. I’ve been seeing Dr Mattingly for years now and never had any complaints up until the last year or so. I would wait months and months for an appointment then be called days before to be told he has to cancel. A new appointment would be made …

  29. This office is run horribly and is terribly uncaring. Be warned if you are an ADHD patient, that you will be charged additional fees “for the provider’s inconvenience in writing your prescriptions” and your prescriptions “held hostage” …

  30. Counselor Mary Jo Price is really good. She is great at asking the right questions to get you to really open up and get to the root of your issues. It can be uncomfortable to dig into your shortcomings and your past but if you are not …

  31. I like my son‘s doctor, but they absolutely do not have enough people answering phones. It is worse than calling the IRS in terms of wait time, even if you get a wait time. Usually, The system will send you through a loop rather than let …

  32. This doctor’s office has recently instituted a new policy that all patients who require a stimulant prescription will get charged an extra stimulant fee that will get charged directly to the patient, and not as a fee that can get processed …

  33. I am not sure about the circumstances around all of the negative reviews, but that is not our experience at all. My son is a new patient. Before the appointment communication on new patient forms were clear and the patient portal is user …

  34. I’ve had only positive experiences with St. Charles Psychiatric Associates. My original doctor retired and I was able to see Dr. Joshua Wilson. He is an amazing psychiatrist. Extremely caring and knowledgeable. Really listens to the …

  35. Their research sides does some solid work with some important pharmaceuticals based on my experience, but they’re also consistently very disorganized and fail to follow up with important information. Even with repeated callbacks my calls …

  36. My son is 14 and it is very hard to find a child psychiatrist taking new patients. I have to say I was very worried to bring him here based on the reviews. We had our first appointment yesterday and we had a really good experience. Danielle …
