University of Alabama Hospital Reviews ( 250 )

  1. Been here for hours and still haven’t been seen I could be possibly having a miscarriage and told the staff and guess what I’m still waiting it’s almost four hours now no excuses for them to be this slow this will be the last time I come here

  2. Always thought UAB was a good hospital but after going through pancreatic cancer with my mom I can say the oncology department was the worst they acted like she was just a number her appointments were always messed up the doctor never followed through on her medical issues in the end mom suffered through so much unnecessary pain

  3. I got in right away. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I was put at ease right away. I was also told what they were going to do and they explained it so I understood it

  4. ER is horrrrrrrrible!!!!! Waited for 8 hours and still waiting. Why use the word “Emergency” room if you are going to make people wait 10 and 11 hours. Your emergency is not their emergency….

  5. Took my wife to UAB Saturday afternoon and even though we were there for 4 or 5 hours, they were very good to her with the most careing staff and doctors, thanks to all who helped her through health concerns .

  6. If you’re going to be in the hospital, I would choose this one. I’ve seen first hand the things that happen in other hospitals in the area, and some of it is not good.. Not that bad things don’t happen here… you’re just better off if they do. Just my .02

  11. Been waiting for 5 hours in excruciating pain but nobody at this hospital seems to care. Extremely dissatisfied with everything possible. Considered calling 911 while I was sitting in the waiting room just so I could be seen. Never ever go here!!!

  12. Pitiful experience but nice staff. We waited for about 3 hours in the waiting room and it took about 8 hours for my step dad to finally leave the ER for a broken elbow and didn’t even get surgery

  13. Thank you Dr Perry, Dr Maddox and team for everything you are doing for my Dad. I cannot express enough gratitude to these doctors and nurses. God bless you all

  14. If I could give no stars, I would! Uncaring doctors on previous visit. This visit have an appointment at 9 and here it is 45 minutes later and there is still no physician here! Absolutely freaking ridiculous!

  15. You’ll die in the ER before they even take your temp. I work for UAB and I don’t recommend it. They get all weird about what we post online because of how we represent the hospital but screw this. This place sucks.

  16. The nurses do not care and it’s obvious. I will never be back. It was so bad I keep crying. They aren’t about care, they are about control. I’m bothered about humanity after this.

  17. I’ve been in the emergency room since 8 pm it’s about be morning time. I have asthma if I pass out uab will be sued because I can’t breathe. This is the most horrible experience I’ve ever encountered. 🥵🥵🤬🤬🤬😡😡 …

  20. UAB is a top notch medical center. I had my kidney transplant here and then had melanoma eye cancer treatment at UAB. I just can’t say enough about the wonderful staff

  21. Horrible communication. Left emails and phone calls to get info on my father. Left phone number with a nurse, and was told the charge nurse would call me back. I never received any phone calls or emails back.

  22. I had a traumatic brain injury here January 9th 2016 and I flatlined I’d say their food is the best and I wanna thank the people that saved my life

  23. Best medical care in Alabama and Mississippi. Some of the physicians are nationally renowned. Some other physicians have even performed electrophysiological procedures to treat animals from the Birmingham zoo. Babec, the gorilla, had a pacemaker implanted by Dr. Kay, a fantastic cardiologist.

  24. We were referred from over 5 hours away for a specific reason, and we couldn’t even exain why we were there before cutting us off and saying we didn’t need to be there. Zero care for us and zero attempt to help

  29. Treated with kindness, dignity and respect. The entire care team really tried to help me feel better. I was admitted for a week of testing. EXCELLENT care!! Forever grateful!! …

  30. Hope nobody gets Benjamin. He is an arrogant man with no sense of professionalism. He stated that he wished that he never met a patient when he botched an operation. I hope he has to be reprimanded for his actions. A man with no remorse is not a good doctor.

  31. Called to speak with my mother in law who had a heart attack and the lady who is transferring calls was so rude, hung up on us twice, had no answers for any question I was asking, worst first impression I’ve ever had with someone, she should be fired!!!! August 9th at 1am. Please find out who this was!

  32. If you have a service animal they won’t allow it to go in with you… at a hospital. This is completely sad and it could potentially cause someone to lose their life.

  38. ER is a medical Mafia. Total neglect of family in waiting room. 5 hours with refusing update of critical relative. Belligerent team of intake nurses. Hospital is great but the ER was 3rd world experience

  39. Due to an RN on the fifth floor orthopedics named Jo I would never come back to this hospital nor refer to anyone. I cant even get patient reps to hear my most unfortunate experience due to this abusive nurse! She has no business working with ppl!

  48. Was hospitalized here in June 2020 for surgery on my foot and leg that needed trauma care after a car accident. 5 stars is not enough for the level of care and treatment I received while there. I want to give a special recognition to Ms. Chris, Ms. Chloe, Ms. Faythe, Ms. Anna & Mr. P.J. from 9th floor.
