Very difficult to get a hold of very difficult for someone to call you back very difficult to get any answers on any claims. Frustrating to say the very least !!
Your provider line employees are rude and disrespectful. They will hang up the phone on you mid conversation and very short on the phone. Very disappointing.
I had a great conversation calling in to ask questions about coverage. Was on hold maybe a minute, the customer service agent was patient and even answered commonly asked questions I hadn’t thought of yet.
I would give zero stars if I could. Horrible experience, long story short they don’t pay for stuff they should. And then your stuck with a 776 dollar bill.
I would prefer to give no stars for this company. They will deny your claims at the drop of a hat. There should be no reason why preferred one be operating in healthcare. They are anti-healthcare.
Seems to take a while to actually figure anything out. Not the best insurance to have. Doesn’t know how to communicate the best. Always comes up with excuses before actually helping out.
I’ve had good experience with customer service, but them paying only $20 on a $1103 bill is ridiculous. What’s the point of insurance if they won’t cover a reasonable amount?
PO is owned by Fairview so if you use a FV pharmacy and there is a drug manufacturer’s discount or payment assistance PO/FV will not count the drug cost towards your out of pocket or deductible.
I love it when you have a surgery but preferred one thinks it’s necessary to put a hold the pain meds you need. Thanks guys I hope one of you guys have a herniated disc in your back and see how your legs feels. Feels great…
This insurance company is terrible to deal with. They try to tell you aboit rules and laws that don’t exist I have been working with insurance for a while and you would be better off not having insurance than deal with this company.
Another company that proves for-profit insurance is the root of all evil. Incredibly high deductible, confusing policy navigation… I would rate 0 stars if I could.
My wife and I call it Preferred by None. I’d consider a nurse line a fairly basic service, but they have none. Just overall a much worse experience than I saw with Cigna
Expensive for terrible coverage. They cant get their information right either. I have had to call them 3 times now to update my effective date of my coverage.
I work for a co-op this is who they have my work also pays mine but it doesn’t matter I paid 100 a month for aetena with airgas and they covered everything. This dump insurance is so bs didn’t cover anything on my lab work or yearly check up. Fu my name is Derek I’ll be calling
my family and i have a lot of medical problems and they have helped out in so many ways! there is a lot of work to do unfortunately papers to sign and everything but once it’s all worked out it’s not perfect but pretty damn good …
Just had a simple question about a bill that I misunderstood. The woman on the phone talked down to me the entire time and made me feel like an idiot. After clarifying everything, I thanked her and said that was my only question, and she …
I am not sure how well the actual insurance aspect of this company is because my parents deal with that. But I called costumer service and was not on hold at all. The gentleman who helped me answered all my questions and helped me get some options for specialists and was generally just a nice guy. Overall nice phone call.
Worst customer service and coverage I’ve ever had and I work at a hospital where this terrible insurance is the only option. I would highly recommend a different insurance if you have a choice. I, as a patient, should not have to call to …
Called and had questions regarding my own health insurance , and all my questions were answered easily and right away. Great customer service, very helpful.
The customer service is horrible here. No one knows how to get anything done. Trying to get authorization for medications shouldnt be as difficult as they make it. Call Magellan, Call your provider. Its like running in a circle.
I used to rave about PreferredOne, but since June, I have called to check the status of a claim 6 times. Each time I have been told something different. Be ready for a lawsuit PO. Glad to be switching insurance companies in January.
Laurie and Sue at the customer service line, were less than useless. Long story short, had to call repeatedly regarding a pre-cert. Was told I could leave Sue a message..but not get her direct line. After 10 days no response (more 30 days …
Had this insurance through an employer for a year. I really didn’t have any trouble with them. Just follow the rules. Stay in network and such. Just a little slow getting approved for meds and certain procedures.
I just received in the mail a notice/advertising about depression? Awesome thanks. Truly tacky and invasive. Thank you for only covering a third of general therapy costs within your “super tier” coverage plan. I’m thrilled to be out.
If you have a child with autism and are considering PreferredOne, please pick any other insurance. I pay an enormous amount to have this insurance (through my job) and they push back on nearly EVERYTHING. We got a $7,000 bill in the mail …
I had dual coverage for the month of December and even though I gave them the document proving that I had dual coverage they would not refund my premium for December. I have been a loyal customer to them for years and have never been so …
I would give no stars, if I could. I fell and have a concussion so I have all these appointments. I called preferred One first to see who was in my network for Neurologist, chiropractor, concussion clinic, and Physical Therapist. I just …
“Customer service” agents don’t give the same answer to questions Some questions aren’t even able to be answered. Probably not the agents’ fault, but moreso within the company training. 98% of agents often seem miserable to be there and …
We just received our first patient with this insurance. The card is very generic and no phone # or address as to where to send claims. I found a phone # online and called. Amy in customer service was very polite, but the cards are very …

I spoke to Nicole on the phone today, I had questions about billing and how coverage works. Nicole was amazing. She answered everything I needed, she was polite, kind, professional and she was just overall wonderful.
Right now 0 stars preferred one. The referral I received from my dentist, to see an oral surgeon for spot on my lip per Preferred One would be out of network. I requested a name of an oral surgeon in network from Preferred One. Yvonne, …
Truly wish insurance companies wouldn’t jerk you around when trying to get a prescription covered. Took a month for them to decide they were going to deny me a migraine mediation my doctor wanted to put me on. They wanted prior …
Worst insurance company I’ve ever had. I had nothing but problems with them in regards to coverage and denials a few years back when my employer had them, then we switched to HealthPartners which was amazing, now back to PreferredOne and …
God forbid you cry, they threaten with disconnecting the call. This wasn’t a one time thing, this happened to me three times. They definitely aren’t trained with empathy. Shame on you preferred one, people are allowed to cry without threats.
0 stars…..After my mom dealt with colon cancer and my grandpa died from it I asked my doctor what I needed to do for screening at an earlier age. They sent me to a genetic counselor (which I called PO before I made the appointment) to …

Over $800/mo for insurance premium for myself and my young/healthy daughter. Just got a bill for a routine exam on my healthy 20 y.o. and PreferredOnd covered NOT ONE CENT. $421.00 for a visit and $120.00 for a tube of Rx Hydrocortisone …
I turned 65 and as Nov1 I now have Medicare. 2 Weeks sho I contacted preferred one and told them to cancel my auto pay $735. I was told that it is automatic when I turn 65. Well it was not. !!!! It was taken out anyways. For 3 days now I’ve …
I have type 1 diabetes, and have been recently diagnosed (May 9th) Preferred one was a fine company UNTIL YOU ARE ILL. Let me phrase that again, when I wasn’t Chronically ill, really no complaints. BUT if you are Chronically ill they could …
Wow, this company has gone straight downhill, and it is now using COVID as its excuse. GIVE ME A BREAK! We all have suffered from the pandemic, but we don’t simply stop doing our jobs. I have been working to get a claim resolved (surgery) …
They cover very little and are constantly looking for ways to cover even less. When I have called in with issues they will not take ownership for issues. Miserable service. I’m definitely switching plans next year.
I’ve never worked with a greedier and more profit before patient company . Constantly a hassle to get prescriptions filled and always having to spend my personal time doing thier job for them . Thoroughly disgusted. If I could do a zero star rating I would !
First off, Colleen in customer service, was extremely nice!
Secondly, why in the world is a dermatologist considered a specialist, which bumps co pay to double? This makes no sense. Even the dermatologist doesn’t know why you do this!
Not good. Stay away. Went from Preferred One with School system to individual account and they changed refills on pre existing from 90 to 30 days. Called to ask why and was told its the policy and was not able to tell me why. This policy …

Great place to work,
PreferredOne is great to work with!
What do you actually cover?
0 stars 🙂 awful customer service
Love working here… 11+ years and counting
The worst insurance experience I have ever had.
Very difficult to get a hold of very difficult for someone to call you back very difficult to get any answers on any claims. Frustrating to say the very least !!
Preferred One has become a HORRIBLE in’s we pay and pay and they deny deny Does not matter what your doctors say they still DENY
Very good to work with never a problem, with a phone call or anything. Preferred One is great to work with.
I really like Preferred One because Customer service has always been helpful, polite and respectful and very knowledgeable.
Great customer service every time. Thanks 🙏 …

They only covered $42 of a $773 bill for prenatal services when it is supposed to be covered 100%. Customer service was no help.
I would give zero stars if I could. Horrible experience, long story short they don’t pay for stuff they should. And then your stuck with a 776 dollar bill.
Do not cover lactation counseling as preventive. They consider it a feeding problem and goes to your deductible.
I would prefer to give no stars for this company. They will deny your claims at the drop of a hat. There should be no reason why preferred one be operating in healthcare. They are anti-healthcare.
Insurance doesn’t cover Enbrel. Terrible insurance. Don’t get if you have injectable medication. The cost is rolled over to you. 3,000 a month.
Seems to take a while to actually figure anything out. Not the best insurance to have. Doesn’t know how to communicate the best. Always comes up with excuses before actually helping out.

Confusing website. Coverage group not listed on card. Rude customer service. Hours lost trying to find a doctor through their poorly website.
