Firelands Federal Credit Union had its humble beginnings at the railroad in 1955, when seven Nickel Plate employees joined together to form a financial savings club. Each of them put in $5-$10 and they applied for a charter from the federal government. Chartered in 1957, Firelands Federal Credit Union presently serves over 31,000 members. During its first 15 years, the credit union was open only to railroad employees, but in 1970, opened its membership to include anyone who lives or works in the community.

Terrible service, they do not treat you any different for being a loyal member, they will not help a long time customer who has had multiple loans, vehicle, personal, and others, never missed a payment, paid off a few months early. Learn how to treat customers different, don’t be lazy and judge everyone the same.

Absolutely terrible. They changed the whole online banking. Now they have a security code sent to your email when you try to log in. I’ve clicked resend code multiple times and never got my email code so I can’t check my bank.
Ridiculous fee’s, poor customer service and heaven forbid the online banking actually works and is accurate! It’s ironic they disabled their Facebook customer posts because the ratings continued to fall and complaints continue to raise. Can’t wait until we are able to transfer banks!
