Horrible service, poor response times to outages, and way too expensive. This co-op is a joke and has a monopoly on many communities that deserve better.
This is the worst company ever. We get over charged every month. It seems like every month we pay more and more. I hate this company and can not wait to move.
One of the great drivers here tried to intentionally merge into our family and then felt it necessary to flip us off after making our family of 5 swerve into oncoming traffic and almost get in an accident.
Worst customer service ever, was treated beyond rude. She should be fired! Showed no respect to a Vietnam veteran and Colorado native. We will be sharing our experience.
Avoid this company at all costs. Constant power outages with no resolution. Extremely overpriced for terrible service. Cannot wait to move, just to avoid this company
Lost power for 12hours one day and six the next. Each time I called they said “we don’t k ow when power will be back sorry” all the food the our fridge was ruined.
If there was any way possible to have a different provider I would do it. Worst customer service I have ever experienced with any company, and the cost is rediculous. I would rate this company in the negatives if possible. Disgusted
The supposed costumer service seemed annoyed that I even dared to call with a problem. Human services wake up and hire people that have an appearance of at least minimal interest and problem solving skills
Great Service Always. 14 years in Livermore with little problem. When problems arose, just called and they were on it. Poudre Valley employees deserve Big Kudos…. Thanks PVREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This company CUTS PEOPLE POWER OFF W/O WARNING. What if someone relies on MEDICAL EQUIP. TO KEEP THEM ALIVE?? They DON’T EVEN SEND WARNINGS TO REMIND people. Those living in mountains—can suddenly find themselves in the dark—like us and we’ve always paid our bills.
People don’t realize how difficult it can be to provide power to rural areas, especially mountain areas. Been with pvrea at several homes over the years. They always do their to keep the power on, even when it snows four feet.
Terrible customer service. If you have a child whose life depends upon a powered medical apparatus or you rely on medications that must be refrigerated I strongly suggest you find another power provider (if another is available).
Absolutely the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. They had the audacity to tell me it was my problem that their phone system was overloaded and routing my calls to the wrong person. Extremely RUDE… I was hung up on… …
I wish I had another option for our electricity supplier. Would give a zero if I could. Their Customer service just makes customers’ lives worse and a lot more unhappy. They do not try to be helpful at all. So sad I’m forced to use this company since there’s no other option in our community.
Have used them for 6 months with no problems. They have an awesome rebate program too!!! Nothing like saving money and making your home more efficient.
Horrible service, in the last year power has gone out 6 times at least and each time it takes hours to get back on. A storm I understaffed, but this has gotten ridiculous. We need a new power company.
Worst service ever!!!! They don’t mantain their equipment so every time it snows powers goes out then they tell you they can’t control the weather. We live in Colorado that should be something you plan for don’t please don’t use this …
Mostly only disgruntled people leave reviews. Imagine all of the thousands of people that have never had a problem with PV REA. I missed a payment one time and they worked with me to get it resolved. Thanks.
We have a 3000sq/ft Auto Repair facility in Longmont, my electric bill through united power is about $150 a month. We have an 800sq/ft home that I heat with wood, our electric bill through Poudre Valley REA is $160 a month….
Poudre Valley Rea is the absolute worst. I have lived in many places and have never been so overcharged for so many services. Unfortunately they have a complete monopoly on the Fort Collins area…. ILLEGAL!!! so we have no other choice. I wish i could leave 0 stars or negative stars!! NEGATIVE 10
Editing my original comment from one star to three. PVREA credited my account after they realized there was an error on their part and service was shut off during the christmas weekend and holiday. They provided me a credit towards my account and apologized for their error. They are willing to help if given the chance.

I have been a customer since 1974. When we built our new home in 1999 I made sure we were building in Poudre Valley REA service area. We have been happy with every aspect of their service.
AVOID THEIR SERVICE AREA! Constant drops in our service that they admit are happening, yet they offer no resolution. Garage door opener must be constantly reprogrammed, and cannot trust our alarm clocks at all. So tired of watching all of our clocks flash. Love our location, just wish we could get our service from a better provider.
I Have been with this company for over a year Problem free on both ends. Due to a bank error my electronic payment was declined. Pouder valley has a one strike only rule with this. They also dont feel the need to inform you that you have …
Hands down the best energy folks I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Often times, we are in there for a reason that is not so fun. Whomever was at the front desk was one of the most helpful people I’ve dealt with in recent memory.
Worst utility company I have ever had the displeasure of using. Important paperwork is never sent, or sent to the wrong address, then the customer is punished with late fees and disconnect notices. Final bill was never sent out, I’ve had to hunt all the information down and drag it out of customer service agents.
By far the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. The employees (including ‘supervisors’) are very impatient always rude and extremely unprofessional. Given the situation of many families hit by hard ships this company is not only …
Horrible power management company. They cut my power and after calling they had the worng house and account? They take there dam time to fix a street light and wow even slower to fix an outage. I know it takes time to fix a down line or …
We’ve been with PVREA for over 15 years and the service has been nothing short of exceptional. Their response times for trees down on lines is usually the same day even if it is only one customer without power. Serving this mountain area is no easy task for any company – they handle it very well.
I am moving into a house where I have to use Poudre vally REA. They gave me no choice but to pay a $362 deposit for the service. At the rate I use power, the deposit is worth over 7 months of service. This is totally unacceptable, but I …
Total clown-show. Took 3 weeks to get service, then I never received a bill and finally got a delinquent notice. Next? Unable to log in online to pay. Good grief.
My husband and I thank Poudre Valley REA for helping us out of a real bind at our ranch with last snowstorm. Kim in customer service was a huge part of making this happen when we were in extreme need for service.
Thank you so much Kim!

Great difficulty getting through to someone who works there. After long waits, my multiple calls were all answered by a call service who could not help. It would be nice if the engineering dept and other depts could post their numbers online. I finally got through to a very helpful person through Facebook messenger!
On Sunday 5/8/16 we were in a mountain cabin we own in Red Feather Lakes. The power went out around 11 am. I was able to use my phone to connect to the REA website. I looked at what to do in an outage and I was directed to the Outage Map. …

This is the first time in years a utility company has decreased our rates in this time of inflation. They are out in the middle of ice storms trying to repair electric when lines go down and are very good at communicating with their customers. I’m happy to be a customer.
Poudre Valley REA has been very responsive when we have had power outages in our neighborhood. Given where we live in proximity to the mountains we have a lot of storms both in the summer and winter that potentially cause power outages. …

The best customer service I’ve ever had with any company. The ladies in their office have always been so helpful and are super friendly. 5 stars for customer service.
Unfortunately, PVREA is still finding ways to add costs to customers who are trying to reduce costs by going solar. Adding a “Peak Demand Charge” for customers who are producing electricity FOR the grid. Super frustrated.

Super responsive and very helpful
It’s cloudy today so the power is out.
Fall festival was great!
Always been helpful and the service has been reliable.
Worst company to deal with. I agree with all the bad posts.
Worst service ever received after 2 1/2 hours of 5 phone calls and no answers.
Love PVREA…always responsive, always personable, and always have the info I need.
No problems at all in over 8 years of service. Thanks PVREA!
Our PVREI employees rock!!! And I LOVE being in a co-op.
We did not lose power yesterday. Well done PVREA.
46 minutes from time I called to service restored. Great job gentlemen!
Worst service ever!!! How am I getting charged for two months when I paid last months bill! Y’all are ridiculous
My called was answered by a man named Jason. He was pleasant to chat with and he helped address my issue.
Always been very helpful when I call the office. Strive to keep energy costs low.
Worst service I have ever had. More outages in 3 years with them than my entire life combined
Horrible service, poor response times to outages, and way too expensive. This co-op is a joke and has a monopoly on many communities that deserve better.
Why must I put down a deposit to guarantee payment when you can’t even guarantee me electricity? Never experienced so many outages!!
Totally unreliable. Poor customer service. Slow repair times. No weather or barely any rain takes the power down.
This is the worst company ever. We get over charged every month. It seems like every month we pay more and more. I hate this company and can not wait to move.

The supposed costumer service seemed annoyed that I even dared to call with a problem. Human services wake up and hire people that have an appearance of at least minimal interest and problem solving skills
I have used them for 9 years with no issues. Cheap rates per kWh, and I love that they are a coop and refund the excess every year.
