Wish we had a different option, but sadly we don’t. They take advantage of their monopoly and charge grossly high rates. Absolutely heartless.

Their so-called “Budget Plan” is a joke, especially when you have to pay at the end of the year, the overall overpriced rates which leaves you with a $500 to $700 BILL over thier so-called “budget plan”!!!!!! Give me a break! They need compitition!!!

We must band together and demand lower prices. The company is taking advantage of the fact most parts of the U.P. are isolated.
Rates are exponentially higher than other areas in the great lakes region that are just as rural and far off the grid. There is no sane explanation for these rates. It’s robbery.
Shut off power without notice customer service will hang up on you if you bring it up and the new digital meters they put in are overcharging me significantly
I have had no problems with UPPCO or their staff, despite what some of these folks say. Like any utility they charge you based on what you use. If you are wasteful your bills will be higher. Anytime I call they are polite and the workers have also been helpful to me in times of need.
I don’t know how these crooks can get away with charging 60 cents per kwh. Their staff is always friendly but this company is awful. Too bad they have a monopoly on electricity
Aside from sky high rates and an incredible monopoly on many areas in the UP, no major complaints. However that’s a huge complaint. So one star, and that’s because you have to leave at least one.
Absolutely rip off pay the highest in USA maybe even world they overestimated every other month like $200 more than the actual use so read your own meter better off I live in lil trailer pay like 150$-200$ month and sometime not even here work 2 jobs gone alot and shut every thing off when I leave

If you have any other choice than to choose UPPCO, do so. They monopolize the area and they know it, their fees aren’t represented with any sort of service. Some of the highest rates in the country for no reason other than there is no competition. If I could have rated them a zero, I would have.
