Yale New Haven Hospital Reviews ( 107 )

  1. Years ago, I showed up to Yale New Haven Hospital’s ER (on York St) with clear signs of congestive heart failure. The APRN who saw me assumed it wasn’t heart failure and didn’t test for it. As a result, it delayed my heart condition from …

  2. The valet parkers suck. My family and I waited for 45 minutes while so many others who came after us had edit before us. Never coming back here again, and if I do, I’ll park myself.

  3. I signed 10,30 pm . 11,45 pm When I asked them how many patients front me! ? They said 19 patients!!
1,15 am I asked them how many patients front me now? They said 19 patients
I’m very honest that’s what happened

  4. I hate visiting, obviously, but the nurses and doctors are almost always friendly. This place has seen me plenty of times and I’m always grateful for their help.

  5. This facility is super efficient and clean! The staff members made my father feel at ease. It is clear they take pride in their work and care for their patients.

  6. Highly trained and well-qualified Doctors, Nurses and support staff! I can’t hardly wait until I have my own heart attack so I can be a patient! The BEST hospital ever!

  7. Horrible experience every time I’ve been there. Hospital staff is super rude to everyone, especially the staff at the front desk. They yell and give attitude to patients. Doctors don’t do anything to help you, you walk out the same way you came in.

  8. I was born in this hospital. But I never got the chance to look at the design of this hospital with my own eyes as I was raised outside of the US. I really want to come back to this place and explore this city and also to live here when I have the opportunity.

  9. Excellent top quality care. One of the best hospitals in America. The doctors are well prepared and well trained to do the work that they are doing. I would suggest that if one is not well, that they would go to this hospital when in the new haven area.

  10. My only complaint is the hospital policeman was extremely rude to us, because we accidentally went through the wrong door after being told by a nurse to just buzz in. No greeting, raised voice and very rude angry tones. It was very …

  11. Once, I was in the kids ER. I had a broken arm and had to wait 8 hours for surgery. I was complaining how I was sow hungry. Now I realize why it took so long. There were other kids with worse cases than me, such as three degree burns. It was worth the wait, though. I got to watch 4 movies.

  12. I have had repeated negative experiences with Yale New Haven Hospital. I live with an “invisible illness” and have unfortunately been to the ED more times than I would like. Seldom am I treated with respect. Generally the sequence of events …

  13. I admire the ppl at this hospital. I know they have been stretched beyond believe and it must be difficult with the Covid and now the Delta but they do their best. So give them credit please!

  14. I got into a highway accident saturday evening where I passed out behind the wheel and crashed. I’m grateful I’m the only one involved and I’m still alive. I just want to say every single person that helped me treated me with the up most respect and made me feel like everything they did came from their hearts!

  15. Worst Hospital in Connecticut. Don’t take your family here. Take them somewhere else. They care more about education than carrying for patients. Nurses and doctors shows no signs of sympathy or remorse.

  16. I have had good experiences with the treatment of family and friends at this hospital. The doctors and nurses are nice and smart. The facility is nice and clean. The cafeteria has good options. I wish the parking was a little cheaper.

  17. It feels like you’re going to jail not a hospital they keep you bedded in the hallways and then expect you not to get up to stretch or that’ll get in the way you’re in the hallway you have no privacy you have no comfort.

  18. great. i can mostly speak only for the NICU, since that’s where I stayed the vast majority of my time, but they were unbelievable, the doctors, nurses, techs, procedures – unbelievable. I know my family loved it. there was always a doctor …

  19. Yale is one of our top medical facilities in the country along with some of their out pt programs. Like any buisness they can be slow, rude or sometimes not efficient but it’s also a HOSPITAL. They trige treatment by importance. Waiting is …

  21. I love YNHH because of the people who work there. They have a true and authentic approach to healthcare. I am simply overwhelmed by the caring staff, that listens to the patients. From 6 Aug. to 9 Aug I was a patient there, Section 6-5 room …

  28. This hospital is very difficult to have someone treated on an acute level of care. Their priority is education over patient care. 20% of the nursing staff are unfit to care for patients. My wife was treated by Johns Hopkins for symptoms as …

  29. If I can give this hospital a 0 I would. We waited over 2 hours in the emergency room. Took my grandma here and the Nurses and Doctors were horrible. Did not show any type of sympathy toward my grandpa. I will never take anyone here again.

  30. This review is for the ED and inpatient services. If I could give 0 stars I would. The nurses and doctors seem to care but overall there is no communication and the doctor only shows up when you call patient relations. I called them twice …

  31. The primary reason I came to the hospital was managed. However, I was unconscious for multiple days and had no idea what happened to me. No doctor sat with me and explained the situation to me. My family members are the ones who explained …

  35. They like hiding 1 star reviews so people don’t see how corrupt this hospital is really. Do not let your love ones be sent here they will be abused and treated like objects by a bunch of people who can care less for them.

  36. Worst Hospital in Connecticut. Don’t take your family here. Nurses and doctors shows no signs of sympathy or remorse. 39. This is the worst emergency room in the whole world this people here don’t care about anything. They are just chatting, making jokes, drinking coffee playing in the computer like they are working. Meanwhile I came with an asthma attack and I’ve been here for over 90 minutes and nobody has called my name. Avoid at all costs.

  40. Patient was changing for a few minutes in the bathroom. Switched from toilet to mobility aid. Nurse walks in without knocking and decides to spread misinformation that the patient can’t walk which can affect insurance and their care received. Standing for a minute does not equal ability to walk.

  41. Disrespectful people in there. Wants to make there own decisions for the patient. Doesn’t respect the patient or family decisions.Highly recommend NOT to bring anybody here for care.

  47. Worst hospital ever, my mom was there with a stroke and the care was horrible even to get her food it would take hours don’t go here unless you want to suffer.

  48. I would be no stars but that’s not an option. I’m looking into lawyers to sue them. That’s all I have to say on the matter. There’s to much to type out here. Don’t go to them!!!!

  49. Only one person could go in the hospital with patient for heart surgery been outside for 2 hours they won’t even let you use the bathroom or get something to eat at lobby court really sucks won’t be coming to this hospital for any anything.

  56. They treat you absolutely disgusting. They will hold down an adult without their will and inject them with unknown medications and refuse to tell you when they will release you. Horrible experience both times. I do not ever recommend going to this hospital.

  57. My eighty five year old mom was neglected by not being washed in the three weeks she was there. Also she was not eating or drinking and we were told they could not force her. I voiced my concern of dehydration and malnutrition but nothing was done until I filed a written complaint with the state department of health.

  58. The staff is rude as hell. My husband of 18 years was in a motorcycle accident. I was on a business trip when it happened. I flew the first flight I could out to Connecticut. 61. The anesthesiologist for my cesarean was cold hearted with no bedside manner. He was instructing residents how to do my spinal block and they missed twice. I was in pain and scared, and he was extremely rude to me. The nurses were wonderful but the experience in the operating room made a lasting impression in the worst way.

  62. I write this review out of immense gratitude towards this great institution, Yale New Haven Hospital! I lost my father to COVID in October of 2020 when my parents were happily and independently living in India. I requested my mom to come …

  63. I was in the East building. The care of the nurses and aides were excellent. The food was the highest level of a well known restaurant. The nurses were so compassionate. They were: Maggie. Rona and Ethel. I can’t say enough of the care I received. The care was the BEST!!

  64. Yale’s doctors are pretty great. I am yet to see their good nurse services because I can’t be with my wife while she’s admitted. And that my friends is why I give Yale only three stars. This hospital is still in 2021 while other hospitals, …

  67. BEWARE: They do not accept lab results from other systems, so they will need to rerun tests at one of their sites. DO NOT recommend if you have recently moved or mid treatment. I strongly urge you to go to another hospital system to avoid redundant invasive procedures.
