I was there with my fiancé, and it was supposed to be just a couple hour visit. We got into the emergency room at 1pm, and was not allowed to leave until 12am the next morning. We were only checked on maybe a handful of times, never offered anything to drink or eat, etc. Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had. Would NOT recommend.

The ER staff did a commendable job of placing fifteen stitches in my forehead after scoping myself with a .308 rifle while hunting in December 2015. The scar is unnoticeable unless pointed out. The physician’s assistant and staff on duty were pleasant and professional, and were well-equipped to handle my injury.
For a hospital that serves a rural health community, I’d say they do a great job. I delivered my daughter here almost a year ago, and I was impressed by how well they treated me. They also haven’t had any Hospital Acquired Infections in 4 years ehich is more than WVU can say. Keep serving your community SJMH!
