Progress West Hospital Reviews ( 250 )

  1. Horrible place nursing staff refuses to work . There 7.5 to get pain pill and to go to obgyn this place is a joke but not funny .if you go God help you

  2. If you don’t have insurance you go to the bottom of the list they will just make sure you aren’t going to die during their shift then you’ll set for 3 hours just to be told to go home and come back if it gets worse

  3. I’ve had 2 babies here, the service is horrible…the nurses are so unorganized and some uncaring..wouldn’t reccomended having a baby at this hospital..st Luke’s or mercy is a great baby hospital

  4. OMG. NEVER AGAIN….WHERE IS THERE A GOOD HOSPITAL NEAR TROY MO. .THE CHECK IN NURSE WAS SO RUDE. LOUD AND IF I DIDNT KNOW ANY BETTER SHES HITTING THE MEDS…NO ONE ACTS LIKE THAT….KIDS GO AHEAD OF ADULTS. NO MATTER WHAT..BEEN HERE 2 HOURS. LOVE TO CHARGE THEM FOR OUR TIME..NEVER AGAIN..BEWARE

  5. They Obviously can’t get it together.. I just kept thinking while sitting there forever with my very sick 2 year old… I need to leave and find a hospital because I have an emergency….. My mind couldn’t process this as being an emergency room.

  6. Okay there’s service seems to be getting a little better. At least they hung a bag of fluids now. When I was at SSM over 6 months ago they were trying to give me the fluids while I was walking out the door. Go figure the fluids should go first.

  7. Don’t go to this ER or hospital if its a true emergency. Worst experience of all time. I think this might be a hospital where you could see a doctor but not sure of that. If there was a rating lower than one this would have it.

  8. I hate this hospital..I had a spasm in my back and almost fell but I caught myself on the metal sink and my ring made a loud smak sound on the metal and the nurse actually threatened to have me escorted out by security for damaging property and in front of my young daughter as well..will never go back even if I’m dying.

  9. Going to the hospital is a miserable experience, no matter the reason you’re there. However, the staff, nurses, and doctors there really do their best to make you comfortable

  10. If i could give 0 stars i would…. came into the er and got checked in just fine after being put into a room 1hr and 45 mins later and still no-one has come into my room…and i think I’m about to walk out.

  11. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL OR ER FOR ANYTHING…I went to this so called hospital for help with withdrawal symptoms that I was experiencing from running out of a medication that I could not get filled due to financial issues…the nurses …

  12. Watch out for this ER, the doctor dxed my daughter as constipated ( she came in with severe Rt epigastric pain, nausea, and diarrhea, his less than bright suggestion was Miralax ( a laxative), I asked for Hida scan as it appeared to be …

  13. Physicians who think their God and nurses play their kids games
Federal protected activity civil rights violations
U.S.C. § 1346(b). Thus, both federal and State law may impose limitations on …

  14. I was on time at 11:45 am for my procedure and it is now 2:00 pm and I’m still waiting. This is a routine procedure but the keystone cops had no idea what was going on. Don’t come here.

  15. This is the worst hospital ever. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND going somewhere else. Staff is bad doctors are bad and front desk is bad. It’s all bad 0/100

  16. Extremely long wait times, poor communication. Staff is nonchalant which gave me the impression that they didn’t care. This is my second time visiting this hospital and receiving the same leval of service. Do yourself a favor, go to SSM St. Joseph in St. Charles…..

  17. after two hours waiting on the ER never got attended, worst hospital in ofallon. Do yourself a favor and go some where else if you really have a emergency but if you want to died this is the place to go.

  18. The emergency is extremely slow. No sync between doctors and nurses. 4 times I am asked same set of questions. Waiting time is really long and someone appears every 30 mins and asked few questions and left, again the new one came and asked same set of questions.

  19. I have had my share of bad hospitals, but this isnt one of them. Never been cared for as well any where else. So many thanks to them. Nurses are incredible.

  20. I called 3 times and not once would they return an important issue. So much for emergencies 😡 Never depend on progress west hospital for X-rays!!!!!!!! …

  21. Horrible er experience i was told by my doctor to go to the er for a lump on my neck and I’ve sat here for 3 hours now.. there were only 2 others in the waiting room. Maybe they should have less nurses and more doctors. Half the nurses weren’t even working.

  22. This hospital is a joke the people that work there don’t care about u they will leave u in the waiting room for over 3 hours. They don’t read your chart cause they give u medicine u are allergic too. I wouldn’t even take my dog there to be seen.

  23. Had a mammography several weeks ago. Still waiting on results. When I call the hospital they always say the radiologist Hasn’t read it yet! Are you kidding me? How many weeks do I have to wait for a radiologist to read it??? I’m going somewhere somewhere else next time!

  24. My daughter was not given proper treatment this morning at this hospital!
She’s going to get a 2nd opinion and I sure hope nothing goes wrong in the next 2 days with my daughter! …

  25. Worst ER I’ve ever been to. Came in with blood pressure at 179/100 and chest pain after taking my blood pressure I was put back in the waiting room. I will never go there again. I waited 2 hours and left without being seen.

  26. Pretty impressed. During my visit they had 3 emergant people come in. (Not that mine was not however they were worse). Still was in and out within 6 hours with many test ran. Felt confident that what they diagnosed me with was correct. On top of that they apologized for the wait many times which is something no er has ever done.

  27. I wouldn’t recommend going here. Every ER visit I’ve ever had in the last 40 years resulted in one bill, but this place gives two. Not only did I receive a $1000 bill for an IV and not much of a diagnosis, I also just received a $1600 bill …

  28. I had a great experience in the emergency room. Everything was very promptly done and the staff was nice. Dr. Fouts came in shortly after I got gown on; he was so cheery, it made me feel great!

  29. My PCP has her office here. I get all my imaging done here. Always on schedule. My granddaughter spent one overnight stay here. All care was professional, personal and thoughtful.

  30. I was so impressed with Progress West. The staff was friendly, caring and professional. The hospital was extremely clean and up to date. A big thank you to Dr.Khan, Dr. Feit, Nancy, Becky, Melissa and Tim for all your kindness.

  31. i can not believe some of the reviews i have read. this is a phenominal hospital with drs., nurses, and techs that really care. i have spent most of the past year there passing by 2 other hospitals that i wouldn’t take my animals to. …

  32. Went to er at my doctor’s recommendation for high blood pressure and massive headache, over 6 hours later and still no help. I could have been to doctors appointment and gotten medicine hours ago.

  33. don’t come here while the night shift is here. day staff is amazing, night shift won’t take anyone seriously. night shift was extremely unprofessional, didn’t even wear gloves.

  34. I’m not sure why this ER has such bad reviews. I came on a Friday night I was seen quickly & everyone was very friendly. The pediatric side is phenomenal too I’d recommend anyone to go here.

  35. This year has been very trying. I have been unemployed for 4 months due to medical issues. I had to get assistance through bjc, which discounted my medical for 95%. This is the cheapest medical care since all the free clinics take an act if …

  36. Never a wait. Super fast and efficient. I first went to St. Joseph’s Lake St. Louis cause it’s closer to where I live and was told people had been waiting over two hours so I drove to Progress West. Drive time and waking in, was in a room …

  37. I wasn’t sure about the hospital after reading some of the reviews, my kid was sick and this hospital was the closest one, the front nurses were awesome, I got into the emergency room in just minutes, still in the room waiting for xrays but so far a good experience. Everyone has been so nice.

  38. Absolutely amazing every single time. I’ve had two babies there, used the ER, and rely on the physicians in their medical office for routine care. I would definitely recommend Progress West to anyone for any medical need.

  39. Normally I rave about progress west. They are usually excellent. Im 38 and healthy and I went in to er for blood pressure issues. My average bp was 153/102 for 2+ days. Dr Fouts just brushed it off and said it was likely transient. He said …

  44. Just not happy with having to sit in the parking lot, while my daughter was in surgery. Accommodations should be made, to allow family to sit comfortably, away from elements, in the safety of the hospital facility.

  45. This is the worst F’ING hospital I’ve ever been to in my life. My first nurse I got was extremely rude and unprofessional. Her first words were “im giving you an iv” which i replied just out of curiosity “whats that for?” And she gave me a …

  46. SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE TO BE ABUSED AMD NEGLECTED. No lab or pathology on site. They will run out insurance and discharge patients without actually doing a damn thing. Good luck talking to an actual doctor, that wont happen. Also, the case manager Jessica is THE WORST. No answers, no compassion, just a bed to be turned over.

  47. Just had knee replacement surgery, and I have nothing but compliments for the surgical ward staff. They are aces in my book, prompt, thorough, caring, and professional. Again an overall positive experience, well done

  48. The ED staff are wonderful. Best emergency care I’ve ever received. Highly recommend. I hate going to any hospital based on prior experience but Progress West has changed this for me. I never write reviews but they definitely deserve one!

  49. I have been there with heart problems and recieved excellent care. Was there last weekend and I think they are overwhelmed, understaffed and exhausted by this flu epidemic. Doctors are grouchy and nurses are worn out. Until this flu is done, if you can, go to Urgent Care. Save the ER for life emergencies.

  50. this hospital is a joke TBH. don’t send anyone here, they have NO CLUE what they’re doing. they don’t know how to properly diagnose. unprofessional, rude staff, causing uneccesary pain to patients. doctor physical injured a patient. didn’t …

  52. I came to this er with a migraine on August 24th . The care was great in both the ER and the Pediatric floor . My favorite nurse was caitlin who was on the night shift. She was exceptional ! She made me feel like I was in a Ritz carlton hotel and not a hospital . Thanks caitlin and all the other awesome nurses that took care of me .

  53. Extremely incompetent Doctors in this ER. Took my son in 2 times in 3 days. He had 105 fever the 2nd time. We asked for Mono test because he had Mono the year before and the symptoms seemed similar. They never did one. They didn’t do …

  55. This is our favorite hospital ER. We’ve been to all of them in the area at one time or another and this one, by far, has the most comforting and compassionate staff. The exams were thorough and only one time did we have to wait in the lobby.

  56. At the ER for 7 hours so far and only saw the Dr for a few mins. When we complained the head nurse came in and asked how my wife’s head is feeling… We are in the ER for severe back pain! They didn’t even have what we came in for charted! …

  57. I would avoid going to this hospital. I’m not really sure what exactly they do treat. Each time I take my kids they transfer them to children’s. They couldn’t even do a broken bone. Don’t waste your time, just go to Mercy or St. Luke’s instead.

  58. As a former employee of this facility I cannot tell you how wonderful this place is. Of the 7 facilities I’ve worked for this is the only one that I’ve ever felt like the doctors, nurses, and all the staff cared about what they do and try …

  59. Just like many reviews before this one the trend is no service or care for about 5 or six hours. When the “Doctor” did finally make it in she had no idea who i was or why i was there. She asked me “what can I do for you?” No answers, no diagnosis, no help or modicum of service or care. Absolute disaster.

  60. I was here for 3 days, then out for one, then in for another three. The second round included surgery. Everyone was extremely nice! They are obviously packed but the nurses and doctors are doing the best they can! Their food is wonderful and everything is clean! If you have to go to the hospital, I’d go to this one!

  61. Had a hysterectomy yesterday(Dec 11th 2017) and had to stay the night. This review would’ve been 5 stars of it wasn’t for a nurse named Jayne. I was in the most pain when in her care. She took FOREVER and sometimes didn’t come around at …

  63. This hospital stay and staff were nice. I just wish they weren’t so slow with admitting and discharge. They’re very nice but there were times when it was pretty loud on the floor too. Sick people are staying there. The staff needs to keep it to a dull roar.

  64. I had to be seen tonight due to hitting my head 2 days ago and felt worse ever since the incident. I was in and out sooner than I’ve ever been in an emergency room. Dr. Nancy Niemanm-Royer was very polite and understanding of my concerns. …

  70. I wish I had gone to a different hospital. I have been here for over 3 hours. My son may have broke his foot but we still have not got report from radiology. They have had him in a hallway for over 2 hours and still no diagnosis. They have examined and did an x ray at least 1.5 hours ago.

  79. Very clean quiet hospital with caring staff. Kudos to the ER dept! Our family is on their frequent flyer program, think we have enough points built up for our next visit to be no-charge :). But hey if you are having a heart attack or other emergency, like the ratings matter, get here and live another day.

  80. I have had good and bad experiences here, but my visit on 9/4 was worse by far. Never let them stick you in a triage room. You will be forgotten. I have been here for 1.30 hours pain level is well crying on and off. Had to call a nurse for …
