Overall rating of 2 stars? Big surprise. I’d give 0 stars if I could. My child was there and they treated her poorly. They never answer their phones. They forget to bring patients down when you visit. The list goes on. First and last time my child goes to this facility.
Awful. The building is filthy. Acute care on floor 2 is a nightmare. My experience was like the Stanford Prison Experiment. Stay far away from this place.
When I went to Prairie at the end of 2019, beginning of 2020, I was in a very dark place in my life. Quite frankly, Prairie saved my life. Ebonee was great, and so was Anna and the activities ladies. The program truly helped me and I was …
Seriously stay away..
well-run facility
It was adequate.
Needs to be shut down.
It sucked
Too many complaints to list here!
they don’t care.
youve GOT to be kidding. this place is criminal!
Good luck trying to get any help here. Very unprofessional!!!
Those people lie lie lie hold you against your will
The worse experience in my life!
This place only cares about making money than taking care of the patients!
Straight up 0 zero star rating
They have staff that are using and try to acquire drugs from patients.
This is the best place helped me alot. Thank you guys. I can now move foward with my life and get back to my life. Thank you so much
My son had been to a lot of places and this one helped him 100 per cent if u really want help prairie saint johns is the place to go
I hate this place The staff are so mean this guy name Matt drag me out of my room because I don’t want to go to the groups 😭 I hate that place …
I want to say thank you to all the staff that was in my unit, I can really tell that you guys care.
Thought this place suppose to help people but I guess I’m wrong.
Wish I could give 0 stars. If you need help don’t come to this hole.
Could have some decency to call back after interviews.
Very kind and dedicated staff.
No family support at all! Husband relapsed two days after discharge.
The way patients are treated as sub-human in this place will never not disturb me.
rude nurses and they have no compassion for the patients
Gang followed me in to the hospital, never once felt safe.
Anyone who gives a bad remark is there against their will. Seriously. This is an awesome place to get better. Believe me.
The staff was helpful, however, the assessment staff is very uneducated and unprofessional. They weren’t able to help my father in anyway. Very unfortunate.
Never ever go here the staff treat you like garbage and have no respect for patients
Organized and pleasant offices! Staff is friendly and well informed. The offices are pleasant, comfortable, and inviting.
When life throws you lemons, make lemonade. If you are struggling with things and can not cope, the kind, caring and friendly staff here can offer hope! It may sound like I am a sales person but that I am not. If you don’t have the strength to make lemonade out of those lemons do not be afraid of this place, they can help!
Therapist spent all our time letting me talk about cats instead of actual helpful things and the psychiatrist accused me of cheating on my boyfriend!!!
They put you in a room maybe with roommate and you eat 5 times a day 3 meal and 2 snacks and tons of groups nice people inside
Some of the nurse where alsome but they did not help me at all, I went in expecting intense treatment for pass traumatic events Instead they treated me for my autism with out realizing that I was part of the neurodevisty movement and that I …
I would give it a zero if I could. The place is a joke! Wouldn’t send my worst enemy there. If you are looking for real help, go anywhere but here!
If you think a facility that still uses shock therapy is virtuous then perhaps you need reevaluate your standards.
Group therapy, recreation, and discussion. Too bad they have not been able to build a new facility yet.
Not very good, no actual healing or helping. A lot of watching movies, playing games and other random distractions. Very little therapy or real treatment for either addictions or mental health issues. Can’t keep patients from using while staying inpatient. Kind of a joke.
Worst place i have ever been to. People in prison get treated better than the saff treats the patients here. People that are looking to get help are just being punished. I strongly do not recommend.
This facility is a joke!!!! When you call they take over 15 min to answer. They don’t care about thier patients at all! This place needs new employees who actually care not just care about a paycheck!
I was in inpatient for 8 days and it was awesome 10/10 would get sent back.
Edit: I like inpatient but I wanna go back to php because I miss thermond 😥 …
This is place’ ethics are disgusting and the Doctors there…should ashamed of themselves!! Especially one in particular! This woman makes accusations on families without even seeing or meeting them. She can take her little power trip and her accusations and shove them right up her foreign ass!!
Wasnt a patient but my child was, poorest thing I ever saw, bugs, dirty, do not trust this place, they medicate patients to zombie status and do not have clean units. Breathing flies, I agree with previous comment of “criminally negligent”.
Call in to talk to my wife, Some Blond sounding bimbo answers the phone with no empathy and a snide attitude. If that little girl is any representation of the treatment my wife is suffering. I urge No One to go to this “Business”
Poorest service in the mental health industry I have seen as of yet. Criminal negligence through malpractice and overall lack of real effort. Massive waste of resources. Should be thoroughly investigated. Extremely poor note taking in files, and clearly they aren’t trained very well.
This place is hell on earth. Where they get off calling it ‘st.’ Jonh’s is damn right blasphemy! God would never sanction a place as terrible as this, where ex-cons mutter that prison was better suited than this place. Avoid it at all costs if you’re looking for help. Look elsewhere, you won’t find anything but despair here.
Very rude telephone system with personnel who interrupt, block, insult all in the process of trying to communicate. I’m a professional and was spoken to as if I were caught stealing something. Two different experiences with Prairie, two different years.
Unfriendly workers, They hurt me when I was there, Lied to me as well. Roommate was touching me in my sleep and I had to beg them to move him. Would not let me watch wrestling, Had to watch boring help video’s, Couldnt talk about violence and they stole money from me that my grandfather gave to me. yelled at me.
Our daughter really needed Prairie Saint John;s when no one else wouldn’t listen or help us Prairie did!!!!!! The next stay again was for an unpleasant thing with same daughter. The care was not as good as the first time but really …
Food was great and staff was super friendly and compassionate. They helped me wash my hair being I had a hurt wrist and staff also brushed and braided my hair. Some of the nurses were able to relate to my situation which gave me hope and moving forward with a better life.
This place saved my life and im so grateful for all the staff. Anybody that says anything negative about it eitherwas not ready or in denial. After struggling with ptsd major depression and addictions for 27yrs and 17 yrs of incarceration …
This place is not a Hospital, this place is the highest restrictive “help” you can get. The counsrlers and nurses don’t believe anything you tell them, they question everything you say, as tho your already guility. The food is nasty the bed …
This place doesn’t even deserve a star went for an eval for treatment said I needed residental.waited for a bed to open and then had to come back and do another eval before i got put in.they said I didn’t need treatment after a month …
They care more about the MONEY than the patients. The main area in the entrance area was very dirty. The staff was rude. VERY unprofessional. People should goto another hospital and NOT this one. They runn the play badly and can’t keep …
For my first experience in treatment this was a very welcoming place. The people make you feel that there is hope. They don’t allow you to give up and motivate you to keep moving foward. I had the opportunity to do outpatient and inpatient …
If u have blue cross and a drinking problem this is not the place for you. I was enrolled in a program here for 5 days before I was pretty much kicked to the curb and enrolled in a different program I had already done for insurance reasons. …
When I was at prairie last year in may, I was in the children unit (12 at the time). Some of the children in my unit had anger issues which led to screaming and tantrums from them in the middle of the night which made it hard to sleep and …
I’m putting 5 stars because people need to see this. I was a previous patient at PSJ almost 2 years ago. I was a very lost girl. My depression and suicidal thoughts/actions were terrible. After a suicide attempt my parents had no choice but …
Having had family and personal use of this institution, I understand if you live in the area and there are no other options, other than Sanford. The in-patient doctor, Dr A., charges a full hour for 15 mins of Px interaction, simply because …
Wont answer if they have open beds makes u talk to intake if they answer because they never call back no matter how many times you leave ur name and number. Then they say oh we have a week waiting list always! So they are doing nothing to …
I hate this place. I had a total breakdown and they moved me to another unit
Worked here as a traveler. They lacked proper staff for the acuity they served. One nurse for a whole unit is unacceptable. A long with one tech for said unit. They were very nonchalant about safety. Also, staff was racist. If you’re …
i had to go there a few times about two years ago. each time it felt like the place was understaffed and poorly organized. some of the staff there was awesome, but a majority of it was either well-meaning but couldnt do things effectively …
I just got out of this place. I agree with most people on here. I was luckily only there for 3 days but I’ll never go back. I only talked to the therapist/ Psychologist once. I only talked to the head dr on the morning I was going home. I …
A relative was committed here against their will. They repeatedly were told fraudulent information, including being misled about release dates, and were told they couldn’t leave when they had every legal right to leave. Every time we called …
I tried to get help twice from Prairie in the last six months. My husband & I begged for help and for me to be admitted and I was denied both times. Today, an administrator together with Dr. Mayor Mahoney talked about getting help here. …
This place is a joke. They skip over the kids when they open up and talk. They don’t go over any copping skills, things to help with their issues. I lost my clothes and you get none when you ask. You get uncooked meals
the policy is very transphobic- would not recommend for a trans person who has unsupportive parents.
This place is terrible, it doesn’t deserve to be labeled a “Hospital. When I stayed there I was eighteen and well on my own, but the hospital put me into the Adolescent unit. And treated me like a child, scolding me and putting me in a …
I was a patient here as a teenager and came back to work as a Psych Tech (they require 2 years since being a patient before applying). Being on both sides I have a unique view of this place. I’ve also been to several other mental health …
I felt unsafe and even told my techs that. Greta one of the techs/rn was the rudest one and would roll her eyes and just didn’t care. I had to wait a day and a half to get something from the nurse. I’m pregnant and a doctor and a nurse both encouraged me to get an abortion🤦♀️ I don’t recommend this place. …
Well my experience was awful. I really wanted and needed to be there and I did hit all programming classes ….. Until I got the call from a well known software company whom I really wanted to go to work for. In less than a couple of hours …
My daughter is currently a patient at this facility, it has saved her life thus far. I have contacted my daughter and I can already see the good results in the short amout of time she has been there. I salute the professionals at PSJH on …
My fiance was involuntarily placed in that hospital and they wont let him discharge! He was informed twice of discharge date and. When that date arrived, they ripped it from him ONE HOUR before he was to be! They refuse to tell him …
This place is a joke. Especially there day program for kids. Would/will NEVER recommend this program to anyone.
it was pretty bad but i had a decent amount of fun there and took it seriously the second time i was there. the time away from home and taking meds as perscribed helps some of the time
I actually went here when I was younger. they never washed our clothes. there were kids who would wear the same clothes because the ones they had got lost. this place should be shut down. the staff were borderline abusive.
Excellent staff, supportive care, social psychologic & comprehensive education. Off to a new life experience of health thanks to Prarie St. John’s rehabilitation.
the staff were very VERY transphobic to me, lost a whole bag of my clothes and I still haven’t gotten it back, lost my eyeliner for a while. Staff lose stuff alot, at least the snacks were good lol
I drove two hours to see my cousin with her best friend, knowing we would be late we called fifteen minuets before they closed letting them know we would arrive shortly. They said ‘see you soon’ on the phone. We got to Prairie at 8:38 and …
I was in Prairie from Oct 28th and released Nov 3rd for my particular issues of anger, anxiety, and alchohol. The extreme damage that was eminent was luckily barely avoided by luck because of my family, friends as well as myself admitting …
The staff is completely overwhelmed by the more intense patients. The level of cleanliness there is appalling. The showers reek of mold and mildew and it’s up to the patients to make sure their rooms get cleaned and bedding gets changed. …
If you had any concern about this facility, just go check the 5 star reviews. How many of them only mention the food? How many of them are from parents who never had to go through the treatment? How many specifically say stuff like “its …
I was there almost a year ago. It was a great experience and they had healthy food. Healthy employers whom made me feel like I was worth getting better. Not everything was perfect but it was the best inpatient treatment I have had. They helped me and I have been successful ever since!!!
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was admitted for almost 3 weeks. It is truly hell. One patient had an absolute schizophrenic meltdown for an hour straight while hurting themselves and none of the staff cared. One nurse told me …
It is a money scam, please avoid this place, the people that run it are not in it to help the health of their patients …
I was a in-patient for 11 days I love the staff staring me down but I was alway troubled kid they always thought the worst of me but I did sneak a vape in the bathroom so I get why but like still don’t think the worst of me food was goated …
Wasn’t inpatient, was in the adolescent day program for over a month. Didn’t get any helpful info or tips and they spent time on everyone’s issues but mine (was in for severe anxiety and severe depression and was placed in the child group …
Always a pleasure.
Dr. Eric Tee is a great man. …
Prairie Saint Johns was the worst mistake our family ever made and we are still trying to fix the damage they helped to cause. They were supposed to protect her against themselves, instead they allowed the patient to act out in very harmful …
I was there a total of 4 days and they tore me off medication I have been on that worked for me for years. I didn’t sleep. They treated me like an addict when I don’t even use drugs and alcohol. I was a mess when I left. Having severe side effects from meds they put me on. Wasn’t sleeping and having restless leg syndrome.
Absolutely horrible. I went in April of 2018 and none of the nurses would help. My doctor was very rude and tried to keep me longer for my agression. That “agression” was me getting frustrated because he kept saying the same things over and …
this is a wonderful place to receive treatment. i’ve been inpatient eight times and inpatient here four times and only at prairie st. john’s have i left each and every time feeling better. i came in very suicidal and hopeless, literally …
If I could rate this place any lower then I would, the nurse staff is rude and unhelpful, if you have loved one in here you will just have to reside yourself with being unable to get any information out of them about your loved ones. My …
If I could describe this place with one word it’d be “traumatic”. The staff seemed to be doing their best with what little they had to work with. They had almost zero control over the more extreme patients, my roommate was delusional and …
I was traumatized there. During outpatient they tried to put me in inpatient against my will. Had to run away. Literally run away because I was gonna be put away against my will. During inpatient I was having a panic attack and hit a wall. …
Looking for empathy, compassion, understanding and patience, in a secure environment around knowledgeable and sympathetic staff? Look elsewhere. I was a volunteer admit(non-chemically dependant). I’m also a chronic pain patient. The 1st 3 …
If you have an option, don’t come here. A random patient walked in to my family member’s room while she was in the restroom, an employee had told them it was ok for the other patient to utilize her restroom. Additionally, I am here waiting …
To date, I’ve been to this place twice. Both times were horrible experiences. There were few redeeming staff, and myself and other patients were punished for not following non-existent rules. Of the redeeming staff, I can say that they were …
Prairie, is the WOSRST HOSPITAL to go to, if you need help I suggest another place… They love to push medication on people and if u need to be hospitalized they make you do interview 5 days later. But if I lived in twin cities I can get it right away.. so u tell me what’s wrong with this place? And I live 1 mile from them
didn’t give me my meds for 3 days and changed my meds without telling me
I went there and how I’m more aggressive even tho that’s not why I went there for. The staff are nice but I didn’t like my doctor he threatened to put me on hold because I gave him attitude because he made me mad every time I saw him. But the good is good and groups are good
When I was being forced to go there it was so cold on the floor I was on and I got the thinnest blanket ever. When I came back on I probably felt worse than what I was. The treatment they put me on didn’t do anything, and it maybe even made …
“Take the other reviews for what their worth….mental health patients with suicidal ideation and/or drug addiction wondering why they can’t smoke in their rooms, have cell phones, and shoe strings.” …
My son was discharged after 3 days. They didn’t give him his meds, and though its in his records that he is a video game and sugar addict they enabled him into a relapse. Dr McKinley is a narcissist with a God complex and incompetent …

My Husband was sent there with a broken back which occurred during his mental health crisis. He was in excruciating pain and was not given any pain medicine until the next day after I made multiple phone calls to the nurse( I was not …
Awful, I would give ZERO STARS if I could. The doctor basically was playing god and felt like he could do whatever he wanted. The charge nurse was rude and uncompassionate. The vast majority of the workers were there only for the paycheck. …
I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I was there back in 2018. I was inpatient twice, and was in the partial program after both inpatient stays. From both experiences, I felt like people there didn’t care about my mental …
First off the majority of the nurses have a bad attitude and pretty much roll their eyes whenever a patient asks for something. Situations are allowed to escalate to violence or very aggressive actions before staff will step in. If you need …
If you literally treat PATIENTS as untermenschen, it’s unlikely to result in a good outcome.
Drugging and torturing people with disabilities should be illegal. …
My son is there now, December 24, 2021. He is 18 but still in high school. He signed a release of information so that I could be informed about his care. I’ve been trying to get ahold of him all day. I have been hung up on twice, …
PHP staff went above, and beyond for me this past year. I am so thankful for prairie St. John’s
I stayed in the Psych unit for 3 days and the entire place was a joke. There was mold in my shower, the walls were dirty, and there wasn’t much patient/staff interaction. Trying to get my meds after I was released was a joke too. The …
Totally do not recommend this place, it’s way to controlling they basically keep you in your crusty room 20 hours a day , the food tastes awful , other patients are rude , no freedom whatsoever
Nope, nope, nope. There were a couple friendly staff members but the rest of the gig is horrible. We trusted this place for our daughter and they failed. 7-10 day program, and they let her out in 5 days. She wasn’t given any schooling. We …
Checked myself in for alcohol detox and been sober since. I’ve tried to detox at home 2 times prior and failed both times so thanks Prarie and Dr. Smith for the level of care that I received and also the staff of 4 south.
I ended up in urgent care last night and found out i broke my tailbone. You all should have taken me to the hospital, so i would have found out sooner and now its too late. Four weeks of pain and now suffering more
This place should not be a juvenile hall for kids to go to because it will lower their Self esteem even more. This should be a place for healing. I asked a worker to give my daughter sleep meds because the night before she stayed up all …
If you want to chemically parent your kids this is the place to go. The staff just care about your money whether it’s from the state or not. They rely on AA for the recovery aspect also and all the staff look like they want to kill themselves probably cause they know the systems fixed.
The PHP program is amazing! There are many people here who care about you and help you quickly. Med management is great and it took two tries before we found something that worked after trial and error for 2 years with other providers. …
One thing I do not like is when I saw one of the unit (Adolescent/Children)
I almost got put in the wrong one.
Instead got put back into the correct one, …
absolutely awful. almost died in inpatient, because the nurse didn’t care when taking my blood. I informed her I was anemic & unable to lose any more blood, but she took lots. [Was also denied my birth control for my blood disorder, because …
Dr. Green is the worst doctor I have ever encountered! Completely lacks empathy for people who are going through rough situations. Please please please do not go here if you need help. There are so many other options in the FM area.
Don’t go there!Terrible place. I got food poisoning from their rotten food! I threw up for 5 hrs! No one even contacted the kitchen to alert them. The room I was in smelled like urine…I got beat up and slammed to the floor by a patient …
I was in the Adult php program from October 10th to November 11th. This program changed my life and I am so grateful to all the staff that I dealt with daily because they were so friendly and actually cared. The other doctors I had seen in …
Using my husband phone to write this. I was admitted on a north dakota hold was there for a week. The dr changed and added to my meds.this led to my seeing double and my eyes hurt. I asked to see the nurse to ask about this. She never came …
Disgusting and traumatic for me. It’s been four years and I still cannot fathom going near this place ever again. I wasn’t even inpatient and you monsters managed to traumatize me beyond repair. I was 12 and you locked me in a room with …
They gave me lice. The food was good half the time the other half I was alrergic to it. Their are electric plug ins in the rooms. The staff to patient ratio is a absurd. The administration took 3 days and I was lied to oj when I was going …
Psychiatric Institution from a Horror Movie! That is the only way to describe this facility. If I could give it less that 1 star I would. The communication between facility and parent was nearly non-existent unless I had a complaint. They …
Stop asking reviewers to contact you—don’t you think you have enough data? Be accountable! Do better! If anyone wants to share more, great. But you should be able to better your care on your own. And if you can’t, talk to councils and consultants, not the victims of your facility.
Horrible results
Doctors and pharmacies left for weeks on end after discharge without proper document or paperwork. Turning to me for answers on if I can get ahold of prarie for …
