The UPMC Health Plan is located in this 98 story structure made of an unusual alloy of copper and steel. the pictures I took are of Pittsburgh after a storm from the buildings roof.
I’ve had several medications, even ones that are generic, refused by UPMC because they are not on their “Formulator Medication List”. I’ve tried unsuccessfully working with my Doctor and calling “Member Services” to no avail. My plan also …

I was told my insurance started on March 1st. I set up my plan at the end of January through the Marketplace. I received my UPMC insurance card at the end of February. I called and made my appointments in March, and the scheduler confirmed …
I filed two claims in October 2018. But I haven’t got the reimbursements even until July 2019. Also they made a mistake in my EOB in which the after in-network discount amount is even higher than the hospital charged. And they denied they made mistake.
I am appalled with this organization! Canceled our coverage without notice whatsoever! So me my husband and our 1 year old daughter do not have insurance till the end of the year! Thank goodness we didn’t need any hospital visits (so far) …

I work for this company and I am ashamed of how horrible their plan is for employees. This multi-billion dollar “non-profit” organization nickels and dimes their own employees for every single thing they possibly can. If I wasn’t stuck with them, I wouldn’t have them. I truly miss the blue-cross blue-shield days.
I don’t have much of a problem with the actual care I’ve received with UPMC’s healthcare plan. My gripe is with the monopoly they’ve formed in the healthcare industry in Western PA. They limit your options severely. I’ll be switching to Highmark in January of 2020.
My husband has had numerous surgeries and doctor visits this past year and a half and I am so happy that we have UPMC for our health plan. The UPMC doctors and facilities are wonderful. Doctors are very kind, professional, yet gentle and …

I only wish I could choose a negative amount of stars. I pay this company over $70 dollars weekly, and have to fight them WEEKLY to cover prescription. I only take 1 prescription, and my doctor is constantly having to call and fight on my behalf so I can get my script covered. Absolutely the worst in customer service and coverage.
I’ve had UPMC insurance for three years now, and they are amazing. They are there when I need them most, especially providing wrap-around services for my daughter with autism. They truly care about me and my family, and they know how …
UPMC staff is always courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. I seldom wait much past the appointment time, and many times have been seen early, a couple times I was done and leaving before the original appointment time.
Everything handled by the customer service rep in need at the time was patiently and thourly looked into. With confusion on payment made easily adjusted to next payment owed. Plus best fairness and all attempts made by UPMC are always made to give u the best and useful affordable plan possible– Larry Monti
UPMC stays up-to-date with the latest tech offerings – you can see a doctor instantly with AnywhereCare. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Definitely would recommend.

I have been a member of UPMC Health Plan for 6 years now and have been very happy with the service and care they have provided. Best there is in Pittsburgh!
They doubled in price for 2020 for a basic one person insurance. Like it was a shock to see what plans they were offering, and what I would need to pay, compared to last year. …
The team at the UPMC Health Plan is very knowledgeable. On my calls, they have always been helpful, friendly and willing to take the time to assist me in such a way that I can understand my benefits.
I absolutely love UPMC health Plan as my insurance company. I receive great preventative care. Anytime I have issues with getting a provider paid, the customer service staff jumps right in and fixes the issue
Denied diabetes sensor to force patients to pay for medically unnecessary classes or specialist visits and tricky pressure tactics. They have no respect for patients. Avoid if possible.
From their vital, ongoing partnership on our Let’s Move Pittsburgh initiative for family health to their generous support of our exhibits and program, UPMC Health Plan has been an indispensable, visionary champion for Phipps, advancing our commitment to human and environmental wellness. Our work would not be possible without them.

Sigh, mixed experience. Medical is fine, prescription coverage is frustating. If you pay out of pocket because it’s not covered, it is miraculously covered the following month. If you make more per hour than the cost of the prescription, …

My 2nd year on this plan, and absolutely loving it, as to how they contact me and offer extra services. And if Medicare & Medicaid you get a booklet to order vitamins quarterly and also an OTC card at your favorite store vitamin area. 6 free items per year, and referral service called as to place to go for some upcoming procedures.
If I did not work for UPMC I would certainly choose another insurance option as UPMC Health Plan is awful. They have charged me monthly payments after a bill had been paid in full for four months. Multiple phone calls and hours of my life …
There’s no doubt UPMC (the health system) is the best in the region. The UPMC Health Plan however is the exact opposite…they’re atrocious to deal with. Every time I talk to a rep I feel like I’m on an episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway? …
I can’t say much in regards to their coverages and what not but I can tell you customer service REALLY does go a long way. If you want someone that will not only help you with what you call in for, but also brighten your whole day, and make …

Wonderful care 1:1 concierge services really makes me feel valued. Great job!
Really good member services and customer service.
Provides me with access to some of the best doctors!
This company is now doubling in price for 2020 for basic one person insurance. It’s network is so limited compared to Highmark and Capital Blue.

They change your plan almost yearly which almost always raises the premium. For the most part the coverage has been OK.

I absolutely love UPMC health Plan as my insurance company. I receive great preventative care. Anytime I have issues with getting a provider paid, the customer service staff jumps right in and fixes the issue
Aggressive, rude and dismissive salesperson. Only cared about his commission, not the consumer. Shop for insurance through Pennie instead.
Affordable Care Act never gets good press. For me it has been terrific. And UPMC is the best of all insurance companies I’ve had.
