  5. WARNING: I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. POOR SYSTEMS AND TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE WHY THIS COMPANY HAS EARNED SUCH AWFUL RATINGS ACROSS REVIEW WEBSITES. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.

  6. With unbelievable damage to my home and a standard deductible, they went me a $200 check after hurricane Irma. Which was not enough to cover one single broken window

  7. They just want your money. They are totally apathetic toward clients, and don’t care about damages to your home, or how MOLD effects your BREATHING and overall HEALTH during the midst of a global PANDEMIC that effects the RESPIRATORY system.

  8. If your agent tries to write you a policy with them, run away and find a new agent. 60% of the time their phones are off, and when you actually get someone they care so little about their job that you might as well not even bother trying to …

  9. Started a policy with them mid June of this year. Gave them the information from the inspection (including the part that the roof didn’t have much life left) only to have someone come to our house while my elderly mother-in-law was home …

  10. Worst company EVER, don’t hesitate to drop them or find someone else. The only thing that there good at is giving you the round around. You would have to get Adjuster for their insurance . The illusion of being something great is what they believe they are. Sad.com

  11. I guess the ones that get results don’t write anything. I was very fortunate and got both of my claims fund within a timely manner. Alron Construction did my claim for my roof and got approved in weeks and when the adjuster came we had him …

  12. Do not do business with this company. 1 month after Hurricane Ida and nobody will contact me. So much more to say but I’m tired from typing after the BBB complaint I just typed up.

  13. It’s been 6 weeks since they processed my daughters claim. They are rude. They transfer and hang up on you. Such a headache! Poor business practice. She makes her payments on time. Somebody respond!!

  14. On January 19, 2017 we made our first claim for water leaking from the master bedroom shower into the masterbedroom and also to the bedroom the on the other side of the wall.we called roto rooter, the filed a claim with southern fidelity …

  15. After the hurricane, I not only needed a new roof, but once the roof was FINALLY done [no fault of SFI] I discovered further water damage in the walls and shower of my master bath. This company was absolutely there for me IMMEDIATELY upon my submission of claim.

  16. I took off from work and they did not show or answer the phones. I had damage caused by Hurricane Irma and Southern Fidelity Insurance was absolutely terrible at simply doing their job. I am sadden to see the Hurricane Irma recovery my …

  17. Cancelled me because they don’t want an electrical panel more than 20/25 years old. I had a 4 point inspection that was fine. Never had any other homeowners ins co do this, it was pretty strange

  18. If there was an option for no stars i’d write -10. After being insured by them for a couple month i get an email saying they cancelled me due to my roof being installed wrong. First of all i have a metal framed house. My roof is steal. It …

  20. Horrible company. Raised my rates over 3600 dollars this year. For what? Never had a claim and have been paying them almost 2000 a year for the last 5 years. They are crooks. Find another company, I am.

  21. This company pays for minimal damage even when it is proven that the damage is greater then what the appraisal shows. They would not renew my insurance while I still have an open claim making it difficult to secure coverage from another company.

  22. We filed a claim on our policy after Hurricane Michael. We met the adjuster at the property and he stated there was no need to tarp the house as it was a total loss. Just received word from SFI…they are paying half the policy as they do …

  23. About the worst company in the entire. They need to take “Fidelity” out of their name for good and be sued into the ground. Not worth the mud off the bottom of my work boots, because I actually work and do my job unlike these worthless people.

  24. Plain and simple they do not want to pay out any claims. You might as well not have any insurance at all. you’re better off saving the money for your own repairs.

  25. Have not been living in my home for 2 years and I get a claim denied. I would recommend that you never use this company. My home needs real home owners insurance not this fraudulent company. I need home insurance HELP! All they give me is 👎 …

  26. We have waited six weeks for details about our claim. They have had the adjuster’s report for a month and have not gotten back to us about whether or not our check will be issued. There is mold in our house! We have to call all the time, they promise return calls, and we get nothing back!

  27. My son had them and had the worst experience, EVER! He had a claim that took them over a year to try to settle. They constantly gave him the run-around, didn’t answer emails, routed his phone calls to other people for information (of which …

  28. If you sign with this company be prepared to never file a claim. I was with them for 5 years and I never filed a claim until last September when I had a leak from my upstairs bathroom. I have owned this house for only 6 years at this time …

  29. I only put one star because there is nothing lower. Trash company that gets liquidated and knew they were in trouble months prior but didnt bother to warn clients until the week before the business is set to close. Just pathetic 😤 …

  30. I would give them a zero if it were an option! Dealing with them has been worse than the experience of the storm itself and we staying in our home while the roof was ripped off and torrential rain poured on us and ceilings fell. Yeah, I’d gladly go thru that again before ever dealing with Southern Fidelity.

  31. 10 year relationship. Zero claims. Rate increase of 120% without warning for July 2022, no lets figure something out, just some letter buried in 100 other pages saying significant increases. Significant is 40%, not 120%. Goodbye. …

  32. After having 10 years continuous coverage with Southern Fidelity, and never filing a claim or missing a payment, I find myself in a desperate situation due to hurricane Zeta. On 10/28/2020 we suffered severe damage when a extremely large …

  33. After placing ins claim as a result of hurricane Ida, we were told a desk adjuster would get back to us in 5-7 days. It has now been 12 days and after calling 6 times (on different days) we still have not even gotten a call back. Each call …

  34. Please, under no circumstance should you make an agreement with this “insurance” company. It is more like a scam company. I’ve been paying for their insurance coverage for over 10 years, and they decided to break the contract for our …

  35. Well, I guess I have learned the hard way why their rates were some of the lowest for my home in south Louisiana. SF is horrible to deal with after Hurricane Ida. The adjuster sent to my home low-balled his report by 75K and they will not …

  36. My homeowner’s insurance annual premium has gone from $1443 to $2033 (29% increase) to $3702 (82% increase) in 3 years. I’ve never put in a claim, and we haven’t had a storm come through here in over 25 years. No explanation letter, no …

  42. Bumped from 2K/yr to $5,425/yr without warning as they go out of business. They didn’t deserve the 1 star here. 347 Negative stars is my real rating. We also did not choose this embarrassment for a company, we got dumped into their rolls without notice or choice.

  43. Charges my escrow more than double the annual premium and then goes out of business. State of Florida refunds 2/3 of what they charged and then bills me for my new premium with Citizens. Premium = $3033, billed $6822 to escrow, refunds …
