AES Indiana Reviews ( 105 )

  1. Bills are ridiculously high, they don’t work with you at all, power just randomly goes out without an explanation…please bring back IPL!

  2. I feel like I get power from them, like, all the time. I mean, it’s crazy! Power seldom goes out, but when it does go out, it is always fixed right away.

  3. This company is not good company they charge me 380$ dollars and disconnect my house electricity and I even didn’t know any information form the company that they change into new company from IPl to AES

  4. What did I like about it? Ummm… I guess the over priced power is nice? When you have it. Odd question. Maybe the question should read “after a 1 star rating…what don’t you like about it? Maybe the the fact that Pakistan has a better …

  5. I have more than 10 days waiting for a new meter to be brought to me, so while they have me without electricity, all the food is spoiled, and even worse I am paying for a hotel because I cannot be there at home without electricity, with the family, terrible service

  6. I’ve paid my bill on Illinois Street for more than twenty years ” and I got a double billing may ” so I called and was told my payment was lost in cyber space ” very scary and now there’s an open investigation looking at were my money went ” this is a Scam “please pay close attention to this new company and your account

  7. Horrible service trying to pay my bill down but added an extra 150$ to my account I just paid 125$! What more do you want from a hard working individual?!? Thanks ipl for trying to take hard earned money from us…

  8. I’ve lived in my home on the South side of Indy for 2-1/2 years. In that time my power has flashed at least 2 times each week and been off for extended periods (2-3 hours – 2-3 days) at least 6 times. If anyone else ran a business like theirs, they’d be closed. Fed up!

  9. This place is trash. Will charge you fees without you knowing. When you transfer your service they will not send bills to the proper address. I can only hope they go under just like IPL

  10. Thank you for offering net metering and for working to safely restore power. Please stay safe while working on the high voltage wires.

  11. Continuously paying our bills, on time, through Chase bill pay. Yet we repeatedly get late notices on our bills, even though our bank statements prove otherwise. Customer service declines to help despite physical proof from our bank …

  12. ipl sucks they hiked up my bill and then wouldn’t work with me to make payment arrangements. then my identity got stolen account was closed out without my knowledge and the bill was reversed I then tried to make arrangements and they …

  13. When IPL made the switch to AES something happened. Now I experience a brown out at least once a month it feels like. Not happy with the service.

  14. Ever since the switch to “AES Indiana” my power goes out daily for a few seconds here and there. It just went out for 6 hours for no reason at all… I hope this isn’t going to be the norm. Screw AES I want IPL back.

  15. I BEEN OUT OF POWER FOR ALMOST TEN DAYS, NO WARNING AT ALL, HAD TO COME HOME LAST TUESDAY TO ALL POWER OFF IN THE HOUSE, I COULD SEE IF I WAS NOT PAYING MY BILL BUT I’M ALWAYS 2 OR 3 MONTHS AHEAD, NOW AFTER MISCOMMUNICATION FROM AES I …

  16. Trashed my yard replacing a pole behind my house. Took months to repair, and it still looks awful. Was told it was fixed by their standards, not back to where it was before. No standards at all.

  17. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE POWER HAS GONE OFF IN JUST MY NEIGHBORHOOD TWICE WITH NO EXPLANATION FROM THE COMPANY. MORE GARBAGE THAN CURTIS PAINTER’S CAREER WITH THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

  18. My bills went up almost $30 since they switched to aes. I haven’t changed the way I do things around my house and it’s only 2 people that are out half the time. This is ridiculous.

  19. I’ve had no problems with IPL, so far. They have reliable electric service, and at reasonable rates. If power goes out, they’re pretty reasonable about getting it back on, usually in relatively short time. …

  20. Since its become AES, its gone downhill fast. They dont work with you, dont help, dont respect you, dont care about you, jack up bills, etc. This company is corrupt and hateful.

  21. This place charges too much for power usage, and the state tax that’s included is out of control. And when you call to ask why extra charges are on your bill when you use the same amount of power each month, they just keep telling you how …

  22. Power just went out, not sure why. It goes out at least twice a week southwest of Indy. It’s ridiculous that we don’t have a choice in our electric company so they know we just have to deal with it!

  23. The worst experience with a utility company I have ever had. I have a medical device and was disconnected for a $389 bill. They now want over $1000 to reconnect after telling me I should’ve never been disconnected but since I was there is nothing they can do. I have been without power for 2 months now.

  24. Tried to call about a down power line in the road. No one picked up for 25 minutes on the emergency line then it told me their mailbox wasn’t set up and ended the call. Tried again, same thing. Hope noone gets hurt.

  25. Be very wary of the bill prepay feature. I set my bill to pay on 12/03 and they ran it at 12/02 11 PM which over-drafted my account and then refused to credit $34 to remedy the situation. $34 is a very small amount to satisfy a customer. …

  26. Power disconnected with no 14 day written notice. They slipped a notice through door after they turned my power off. I had recurring/autopay payments set up going on over 4 1/2 years and then out of the blue they turned my autopay off …

  27. This is the worst state run utility service I’ve ever had to deal with. They close at random times when their website clearly says 5 pm. Google needs to let reviewers give ZERO stars. That’s what they deserve

  28. Set up auto pay over the phone to find out several months later that they don’t do that, I tried to figure out who was the one who took my bank info but they refused to tell me. They said I was lying and stacked my account with a bunch of fees.

  29. Horrible company! I paid my bill two weeks before it was due. They rejected my payment because I was $1 off from paying the full balance. They disconnect my power and it only took me 5 minutes to pay it. So far it’s been a whole day …

  30. IPL rebranded to AES. What changed? No clue, but the level of ineptitude remains the same. Three times in the last year, the neighborhoods of 10th and Franklin have gone without power. This time, there is no indication of why. The weather …

  31. Want to make it horribly inconvenient for me to pay my bill? Guess you don’t want me to pay my bill then. WORST customer service ever. Absolutely horrible company.

  32. Apparently when you make a payment to them, they will wait two weeks until you no longer have the money in your account to withdraw it and say you have insufficient funds instead of taking the money out then and there like any sane business practice. Thanks for the disconnect because you can’t function like a normal business.

  33. Received a rebate in the form of a prepaid card. The card company they used is virtually nonexistent and impossible to reach. Calling to activate the card does not work either. On the rebate i received it was stated that they get the money back if it isnt used. Pretty convenient if you arnt able to use it at all.

  34. After they switched from ipl to AES I quit recovering bills until they turned my power off while I was making pancakes, now they want a security deposit for thier incompetence. not the first time they switched providers out of the blue either

  35. New name, same terrible service as IPL. Our power has gone out consistently once or twice a week for the past few months. My wife and I are BOTH employees that work from home, and we should not have to to deal with this. We value our customers…..not.

  36. Since they’ve gone from IPL to AES my power has gone out every week. The rates have gone up also. What a great company (major sarcasm). If I could give zero stars I would.

  37. Their website to pay online is ALWAYS down, forcing you to give them MORE MONEY by paying by phone. Rates are ridiculous! I live by myself and I still receive a bill at least amounting to $140 a month.

  38. Awful way to pay your bills. I just move to IN. I try to pay my bills with a person and you have to give all your credit information to them( it call Cooper) and that’s kinda scary. Then I call customer service to ask how secure, she told …

  39. I’m upset with AES if I had another choice I would take it. IPL only charge me around 50$ to 100$ every month. AES charges me around 400$ to 500$ every month. After I made all the changes of light bulbs and got a smart thermometer device they advice for a more energy efficient home my bills been crazy.

  40. Since we transitioned from IPL to AES they are always shutting the power off at their leisure without notice putting families in a vulnerable state. I do not like their service at all. I work from home and my mother has a heart monitor that needs to be on at all times.

  41. Have to agree with another commenter, although with tonight’s outage it seems like there have been more than three this summer. A brief rainstorm with no lightning and the power goes out? Really??!! That’s the problem with corporations …

  42. They called me and said they were turning my power off in 45 minutes because I hadn’t paid my bill. They said they had sent me notices, etc. Finally, the guy realizes he has the wrong person. I’m not Phillips!! AND our power is constantly going out!! IPL was bad enough!! AES is worse!!

  43. Completely useless company. There is no one working at either location. Tried to update our account. They created a new one with all the same info so couldn’t access new account. Paid every month on time and account was locked out. Unlocked …

  44. Worst light company I’ve EVER used. IPL was one thing but these people are ridiculous. Power goes out. They raised the rates as soon as they took over and their “pay online” option that never works forces you to pay over the phone.

  45. A complete monopoly that actively works against the people it’s supposed to serve. They consistently put the losses they incur on the shoulders of taxpayers, and profit their gains. If there were any other option I’d jump off a bridge to sign up.

  46. Horrible billing.Didn’t recieve a bill for a month. After paying my account in full. They charged a reconnect fee which is fine then added a deposit fee that is more than any bill I’ve had with them in 8 months. On top of my usage being …

  47. Have been using less heat this month then I have in previous months and my bill is way way higher then normal. Got told to keep my heat turned down it will solve my problem. Let me freeze so you can have more money makes so much since

  48. Very rude company they add feee to your bill then when you need help with payments they deny you. And BIG HEADS UP YOUR SRUFF IS SHUT OFF ON DUE DATE SO PAY SUNDAY IF DUE MONDAY 😂 it’s their way of getting extra money because without …

  49. Our power goes off every once in awhile for absolutely no reason. It didn’t used to happen like this when it was Indianapolis Power & Light Co. We had to have a really strong storm for our power to go off but not with AES Indiana – what the heck is going on??? Very frustrating.

  50. Ever since they went to AES from IPL they keep trying to take an automatic payment from a bank account that is no longer available. I get charged for the kickback. I then call and they say they have removed it but my bill says otherwise.

  51. Couple weeks ago, I lost power for 14 hours!!! I had to replace majority of my food (some of it I just bought) which was an expense I was not expecting. Plus my apartment is all electric which meant no air conditioning! AES is terrible.

  52. My business has quarterly power surges and issues. AES seems to be raising our rates to pay for the rebranding and event sponsorships to promote their monopoly at the expense of the people they claim to serve. Utilities should not be for …
