Austin Regional Clinic Reviews ( 117 )

  1. I called to make appointment with a foot doctor was put on hold for a total for one hour and 40 minutes when answered he said I that was normal! Can’t believe this! Still no appointment

  2. I’ve been on hold for an hour and 15 minutes trying to schedule an appointment. It’s like this every time I call. WAKE UP. You need to hire more call takers.

  3. I am not sure if 1 star is even appropriate. My daughter saw Dr. Khan, who was rude, inconsiderate and inappropriate. Run… find another MD..there are lots to chose from.

  4. Phone line for appointments is never answered, been waiting for the whole morning. Can’t use the website as it shows no appointments available. I called the main desk, they say they can’t help, told me to keep waiting. Great first time experience.

  5. The hold music is torture! Scratchy, squeaky, and impossible to do anything else while you are holding because they talk occasionally and you think it is the person you are waiting for. And you will be on hold a VERY long time every time you call.

  6. Went in for a yearly physical was told anything other than what a yearly physical entails would be charged extra they do not have a list of what they consider extra insurance paid for the physical doctor charge me an additional $110 for …

  7. Since they’ve centralized their phones, you can’t contact them. It’s quicker and less aggravating to drive to the clinic and talk to the staff. Use their weak online tools and hope

  8. My husband & I had our covid vaccine taken at ARC administration bldg in March 12th. We were so impressed with the entire organization & their friendliness, thoroughness & ability to service so many people so seamlessly.

  9. I have been a patient of Dr. Markley and Dr. Mason for more years than I can remember. They are both extremely caring and professional. I have never had a bad experience and always leave feeling like I was well cared for. Dr. Markely knew both my husband and I and after he died, she has always mentioned him as if we were family.

  10. I would not recommend going here to anyone that is in need of care. Doctors are not willing to take the time to actually figure out anything pertaining to what you are feeling or experiencing what’s so ever. The solution is not to prescribe …

  11. My daughter’s in pediatrics w Dr Day and I have recently had the pleasure of having Dr Cheville for myself. Been going to ARC for near 20 years now (my now adult son went as well) and have had a great experience every time.

  12. Just had to spend 24 minutes on hold to cancel an appointment. I like my PCP, but it’s almost impossible to get through to him. Calls are routed through a central number and wait times are ridiculous. I don’t want to change providers, but my time is valuable too. I hope they get their act together.

  13. Clean and professional but they didn’t tell me there is convenience fee for Saturday appointment. I don’t mind to pay what I am supposed to pay but I feel so bad if someone try to steal my hard earned money. I didn’t ask Saturday and was …

  14. The phone system is a maze, and will take you an hour. I was put on hold for a nurse, and then finally they answered. I said the doc was a Nephrologist, she said the doc was Internal Med. They don’t have kidney doctors, unfortunately. I …

  15. I am a pharmacist. I’ve been on hold for over 20 minutes now trying to reach a nurse about an incorrect prescription that was sent in for a pediatric patient. They do not answer the phones here and they do not respond to faxes. I am not …

  16. Tried to get an appointment today or anytime soon for my son and the lady tried to send me to their Fort Worth location…. I’ve never ran into this problem of not being able to get anything or they offer a call back if there is a …

  17. Not helpful – long wait times, impersonal experience, and never see the same provider. If you want mediocre health care where you’re just another number in the line, this is the place for you. I’ve struggled to find quality medical providers in Austin, and this place is no exception. Would NOT recommend.

  18. Austin Regional Clinic is the epitome of what’s wrong with American healthcare. Immediately want to put you on some sort of medication without any regard for root causes. I mean not even a conversation about it, mainly because they want to …

  19. if you’re ever scheduled here CLEAR THE WHOLE DAY. If I’m scheduled at 10 I shouldn’t be just getting called in at 11. Why not just schedule for an hour later? Waiting 40 mins for the dr to come to the room and talk to you for not even half of that is really not a good look. Pretty place though.

  20. My son recently saw Dr. Angelle Oliver for a high fever and headache – we tested for the norm (strep, flu) and then waited for his symptoms to improve. After a few days, his fever persisted and new symptoms kept popping up. We were sent to …

  21. Love this Place! ARC has great Doctors and Staff. Will not go anywhere other than ARC. Very professional and prompt. They have many clinics all over the greater Austin area.

  22. Like others, I like the doctor, but good luck calling in or doing anything online. They keep supposedly sending me some link via email to setup a MyChart but it never shows. …

  23. Terrible, terrible place to get medical care. It is almost impossible to reach anyone over the phone. They failed to report and treat my abnormal lab results until it progressed into a severe infection and required an ER trip. I will not trust these people with my health again. Stay away.

  24. I like my primary care physician, but (like the others). expect to hold > 30 minutes to maybe get to speak someone (note – not a specialist – just anyone). If you try to book online – good luck as you may or may not get what you want and …

  25. DO NOT GO HERE. Waited for hours to see the doctor for literally 5 min. Then the office coded it as an “in office procedure” that cost me nearly $500 AFTER insurance. They have so far REFUSED to change how it is coded and I am a couple months deep in to an appeal with my insurance company. Actual scam artists.

  26. Is there something wrong with the automated system?I have been calling all day and as soon as I select the option to schedule an appointment and/or speak to a nurse it drops the call.

  27. I love my doctor here. However, it’s easier to change doctors than it is to get through their phone line to make an appointment. After three phone calls all over an hour long and still no one picks up, what else can I do?

  28. Do not recommend. I scheduled for an annual wellness check which is 100% covered by my health insurance plan. 3 weeks later I get a $192 bill from ARC. After contacting my insurance provider they advised me that the doctor/ARC had billed …

  29. My primary care physician at ARC is awesome but unfortunately part time so it’s hard to get an appointment. The specialists I’ve had at the SW Austin office are awful They’re always in a rush, dismissive, don’t listen to issues and just …

  30. Would post 0 stars. Incredibly unhelpful and rude. I was just wondering why my needed prescription is taking so long to fill as I’m going out of state in a few days. The nurse said it’s not their problem… don’t come here. Some of the drs are greats but the nurses are all trash

  31. Facility was clean, if somewhat old. Unfortunately the staff weren’t particularly friendly and seemed only concerned with churning through patients as fast as possible. Phlebotomist was the only one making conversation and that was only …

  32. In the last two years, the Austin Regional Clinic has become infamous for their scheduling system: you have to wait 30 – 45 minutes on hold to make an appointment. …

  33. I had to call my little sister, Emilia M., works for ARC/James Casey location to tell her about my vaccine shot experience. Since I’m a teacher and was eligible for the Covid vaccine, she gave me information that this ARC location would …

  34. Staff were professional and the facility was clean, at least when I went. Also want to give credit to the fact that the medicine I was prescribed helped my issue. My complaint comes from the prices. …

  35. ARC has delays and holds, but Beverly (nurse) was very helpful in cutting through the red tape and resolve an insurance requirement. Very quickly and methodically. When patients finally connect with medical professionals – things start to happen. It’s the other stuff that’s fairly disorganized – and of course that’s not acceptable.

  36. Phone lines are always busy whenever called. Tried booking appointment online using patient portal, Even the online portal throws a message “we are experiencing high demand right now” please check back in a bit. It is really annoying …

  37. They say they’re open 24 seven 365 yet I’m having trouble taking care of my grandson and I can’t even reach them by phone every referral phone number they have is the same and they won’t reopen until tomorrow morning so I am out of luck with a child that has 102 fever I’m so glad I’m only visiting Austin and don’t live here

  38. Worst place to get an appointment, when you call they will try to set you out two weeks. Even it your in back shape but not life threatening still your primary won’t see for at least a week what’s the point of having a primary? We should all just go to the emergency room…

  39. I have been a patient with ARC for past 20 yrs! Always been pleased with the level of care and compassion. Love having easy access to appointments and other needs through MyChart. Thanks ARC!!!

  40. I am so thankful to have been referred to my new PCP Dr. Andrew Walters, he and his staff are just so friendly and helpful. I look forward to a long-lasting relationship with this office! Dr. Walters gave me suggestions and options for my care and even called in my prescription before I even had a chance to leave the parking lot!

  41. ARC has some of the best employees and wonderful caregivers. You can really tell they care about their patients. It’s incredibly easy to get access ti a health care professional so I appreciate that too.

  42. My experience with ARC has been amazing. Their iphone application makes it very easy to communicate with doctors, review paper work, and schedule appointments. Super friendly and efficient staff – barely any wait times. Would highly recommend to all!!

  43. The worst medical center ever. All calls go through one operator and it’s impossible to reach your doctor or even local medical center directly and have to wait extended periods of time on the phone even to make a appointment never mind if …

  44. Came to the far west clinic for appointment they were very slow and not organized I had a 1130 appointment nobody has seen me after waiting 25 min went to the front desk the lady not so nice has no answer to why nobody have called me at …

  45. I used to be a happy customer for years. I finally lost my patience with having to be for 1hr plus to speak to a nurse to get an after hours appointment. Customer has gone down and every interaction is worse than the one before.

  46. I waited for at least 15 minutes to schedule an appointment with a doctor that I’ve previously seen a couple years ago only to find out she didn’t have any availability for another month so I chose the first available doctor. After that the …

  47. ARC does a fantastic job at ensuring their patients receive top quality care. The time, attention, professionalism and follow up care that ARC physicians and staff give to their patients is unsurpassed. I’ve been with ARC for quite some time and all I can say is thank you ARC for the amazing job you provide everyday.

  48. I’ve had good experiences getting help from ARC doctors and nurses recently, this has nothing to do with them. What this review has to do with is the fact that Austin Regional Clinic appears to not believe in patients contacting their …

  49. having to wait on hold for over an hour to schedule an appointment or to speak with a nurse is not only unacceptable but dangerous to your patients. i liked my doctor but i am not returning.

  50. My ARC care team feels like family. In addition to walking me through some major milestones of life, they also help me talk about and think through how to stay engaged with my health care. And after hours clinics mean I’ve got access to trusted health care when I need it, where I need it.

  51. Presented stomach pains three times in 5 months to three different cavalier GP’s at two separate ARC sites. One week after the third visit and I was in the emergency room with acute diverticulitis and emergency surgery to save my life. I will never return to this group.

  52. I can take care of all of my healthcare needs at ARC. My entire family goes to ARC. We love our physicians, and the online scheduling option makes it easy to schedule my entire family! They have triage nurses that can help answer any questions you have (or get you where you need to be.) ARC is the best!

  53. Not sure why they’re getting such negative reviews. Yes, it is a popular spot that accepts most insurance, so there will be a wait at times. But the staff there has always been kind and courteous, and the doctors have never steered me …

  54. I was recently diagnosed with covid. When I got my diagnosis yesterday, I was given 1 pain pill in the Ed and instructed to call my physician. Anytime I have tried to call my physician, there are no appointments. What concerns me is the …

  55. This is for the S. 1st location:
I went in for my first Mamo, not only did the nurse/technician back away from me like I had the plague, but she wouldn’t give me the scan because I checked one …

  56. I have been a member of ARC for over 30 years. The last 3 times I needed to use urgent care/after hours ARC was booked with no appts available. I was willing to go to any ARC clinic and all of them had no availability. Also the telephone …

  57. My mom arrived by ambulance this morning. The care she received was good until it wasn’t. I was told they were short handed, I get it.
You know what I don’t get? Literally sitting for over an hour and half to have …

  58. I recommend ARC to everyone who asks me where to see a doctor in Austin. My doctor always treats me with compassion and has excellent recommendations. I can tell all the staff truly care about the patients, going above and beyond when needed. Seriously, if you need to be seen look no further.

  59. First word: disrespectful to patient especially Bandana Risal. I’m so glad she moved. She kept telling me I’m lying about my reason for last appt being dizziness. …

  60. I have complained about lightheadedness and breathlessness upon standing for years at ARC. Doctors have mocked me, minimized my pain, and said “you’re LUCKY you have low blood pressure.” They did a bunch of (expensive) heart tests and said …

  61. the hold music is excruciating. Scratchy, high pitched. And occasionally, an ad comes on and makes you think it is your doctor’s staff. It is impossible to do anything else while on hold. And the holds are very very long. just to make a …

  62. Continuously disappointed with the level of patient care and ARC’s phone operating system. Will be searching for a new clinic immediately

  63. Apparently, Doctors are booked so tightly they can no longer see their patients for more than 5 min. or take a breath between them. My son got his finger seriously crushed today, blooding, fingernail displaced and broken, and we walked in …

  64. Dr. Michael Andreo is the worst doctor I’ve ever met. He could not answer basic questions about my Achilles surgery and acted like I was dragging my nails on a chalkboard every time I asked a question. He has zero clue about non-surgical …

  65. Lazy, dumb, and mean. The doctor recommended a shingles shot and said to schedule a follow up booster in six weeks. No one scheduled this for me or reminded me after the six weeks passed, but that’s fine. I remembered and attempted to …

  66. Both of my kids have been patients of ARC for many years. However, I was just informed that my son was “terminated” as a patient. I have never been notified of this until I called to refill a prescription. How does a practice terminate a minor patient for NO reason without even a phone call?

  67. As an employee and a patient and a mom, I have countless stories of ARC doctors and staff coming through for me and my family. The middle of the night calls about feverish kids, the emergency surgery due to a sports injury, and so many …

  68. It took a month to get on their schedule with a podiatrist. A week before my appointment they told me that they needed to relocate it to a different office that was out of range for me. From there, I asked to get a referral to someone …

  69. Tried calling to schedule an appointment twice in the same hour. Each time I called, there was a 20-minute or more wait time. Once I received a call back, the representative hung up when attempting to transfer the call. Poor phone service which causes a delay in patient appointment scheduling and delayed care.

  70. I have BCBS TX PPO and am being billed for going out of network although ARC states they are in-network. I have called billing multiple times and they are no help, please contact me to resolve this as your billing department is incompetent.

  71. Terrible experience with the staff! The website is so poor. None of the information I input on the website seems to relay to the medical team. The staff is pretty careless also. I setup a video appointment and they didn’t take my …

  72. Haha! Switching medical records when you move is a joke. Going on 2 weeks now and can’t get anyone to give me a direct response. STILL waiting for them to release my records, so I can make an appointment with my new doctor!!!!! Oh and yeah, …

  73. Used to have a great doctor with a great nurse. He retired. Now I get people who are unable to communicate clearly (literally) and mostly unhelpful. Multiple calls, messages and re-routes just to get my medical records. Really uncaring and inefficient. Round Rock office treats humans like factory workers.

  74. This has been the most horrific experience of my life and I’m 59. 10 months of illness and every ARC Dr was useless except 2 surgeons who dealt with a problem My Seton dr found. This was a totally different issue. I’m still dealing with the …

  75. RE: Dripping Springs location. I’ve had nothing but great experiences here. I’ve used ARC for several years – but the other locations. This location has the friendliest staff that I’ve dealt with. And Dr Kielhorn is about as good as it gets in my opinion.

  76. after sitting through multiple different automated messages just to ask a question. The lady didn’t even wanna help me unless my insurance was valid. I’m in a lot of pain (not an emergency) and ya’ll are more interested on who my …

  79. I called to schedule an appointment for my son at 3:00 Wednesday. I was told the soonest he could be seen was Thursday at 3:45. He showed up Thursday at 3:30 and was told his appoint was for the previous (Wednesday)day at 3:45. Absolutely …

  81. My PCP is great but the remaining staff, no! Considering other options after 2 decades of patient care because of recent experiences. COVID-19 changed the workforce forever. The quality of staff is low.

  82. Unbelievably bad business operations. I have not even seen the doctor yet; however, I scheduled an appointment online. When I called to get confirmation of the appointment they said it did not exist. I made another appointment with …

  83. I love the Kyle location. Everyone is so helpful. Britney made my appointment happen when I didn’t schedule properly. She went above and beyond to get me seen. All the front desk staff are on top of their jobs and work excellent with the clinical staff to give patients the best care. I am impressed.

  84. Ken Perez is an outstanding doctor, but the staff and business operations at ARC are abysmal. They have sent me to collections multiple times just this year alone for charges as low as $20. I have visits almost monthly and instead of …
