Berkshire Health Systems Reviews ( 128 )

  1. They allowed my friends blood sugar to drop to 29 overnight, and what’s even worse, they didn’t allow his wife to be there. We are 3 years in, and the draconian restrictions need to end yesterday. Want to know what happens when family can’t monitor the treatment of their loved ones? This right here.

  2. On the surgical floor as we speak….waiting for 2 hours for an IV nurse for pain meds!!!! 1:30 am….ready to lose my freaking mind!!!!!!

  3. AS USUAL THE ER HAS MADE SERIOUS ERRORS IN THE CARE I WAS GIVEN. BAD FALL ON ICE A MONTH AGO. FULL WHOLE BODY SLAM BACKWARDS ON ICE. SO MUCH PAIN COULDN’T MOVE AND OUT OF IT FOR AWHILE. FINALLY GOT IN HOUSE SOMEHOW. CALLED AMBULANCE AND …

  4. Google says this site has “COVID-19 Testing for all patients”, but they say they will not test asymptomatic people because they don’t have enough tests right now to do that.

  5. A receptionist broke a doctor’s instructions with the circumstances that my family member had to be accompanied by a family member which was myself, the receptionist kicked me out by overriding a doctor’s instructions needless to say no …

  6. Worst hospital I’ve ever dealt with rude staff terrible communication dropped the ball on care wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here for care and the staff are thieves doesn’t even deserve one star

  7. Was in ER for four house. Now I’m in the back and it’s been over two hours and still haven’t seen a doctor! This is ridiculous. Staff has not came on to check on me and seems they could care less unless its about their trips they will be taking 😌😡 …

  8. Long wait in E.R. but, people need to realize colds are not an emergency, so it is not BMC’S Fault. Mom was in here many years ago and was treated awesomely

  9. When I was calling to check on a friend’s health condition and try to comfort him they refused to tell me anything or let me speak to him and they were waiting for his family to tell them what to do, not cool when you love someone you’re not blood related to.

  10. Hospital experience wasn’t bad but the after math with all the billing issues was ridiculous gave them all my information but still they weren’t billing in the proper order insurance wise 8 months later and I’m still receiving bills because they keep sending to the wrong insurance

  11. So far, I have had excellent service on Telemetry, food service, and, X-RAY. This has been an enjoyable stay so far which is changing my opinion about BMC some, another department that has been excellent is the Dialysis

  12. Dr. Bansal at Berkshire Internists of BMC is not representing Berkshire Medical Center in a productive professional manner and should be termed. The staff at this practice are exceptional.

  13. Wow where to begin I mean I knew that this medical center was bad and had gotten worse I just didn’t realize how down hill this hospital has gone in every way possible including keeping a staff that is able to at least show the smallest ounce of empathy or caring for another human being

  14. Sat in the ER for 3 Hours then got brought into another room for an hour .. all i needed was stitches on my leg . They said they where “busy”. Personally I would take the extra Hour or so to drive all the way to Springfield. This was a joke

  15. Simply the worst hospital I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. Total incompetence at every level. Total lack of regard for the patient or their family. I would bleed to death before I went the their ER.

  16. My father (70 years old) is stuck in there right now due to a foot infection. He’s been there for literally days and staff haven’t updated him on what’s going on or even allowed him access to a tub so he can bathe. Is BMC owned by a …

  17. This hospital’s nursing staff is awesome. I was on the second floor and everyone was great. As a person with different dietary needs the kitchen did well, and the portions were on point. Thanks!

  18. Got rushed in by ambulance and still waited 3 hours for someone to take my vitals, another 3 for someone to take my blood and then 2 hours later to be sent home. There was definitely pee on the floor in my room.

  19. Triage is a joke – you WILL be there a minimum of 2 to 4 hours unless you go by ambulance to the Emergency Room. Staff socialize while patients, in pain, wait to be seen. They define ‘busy’ as anything more than 5 patients. I have …

  20. The detox mcgee center was absolute worse place ever! They did not treat what u were there for,i suffered the whole time, the only thing worth it was a nurse kayla who was the absolute best nurse ever ppl refer to her as little kayla i refer to her as an angel

  21. I had a sub-luxed shoulder (had) the orthopedic surgeon I had seen was very, very bad but the ER doc Dr. Jessica took the time to call another ortho doc to expidit my care! I’ve read the other reviews but I will say they took care of me!! …

To my question regarding the last time the xray machine had been calibrated, i …

  24. I had a broken foot..As soon as I arrived the head nurse took excellent care of me. The x-ray tech personalty helped me into the x-ray machine and the MD showed me what the problem was, Outstanding care. I have seen the other comments and totally disagree. Outstanding care

  25. I have had occasion to be seen at emergency center twice in last 3 years and have been thoroughly impressed with treatment received there. I was seen quickly and treated with respect and kindness. I found the doctors to be very thorough and efficient.

  26. So having my son who is only foxing 85 sit for 2 hours is unexplainable. My wife is a nurse, Who worked in the ER. Who knows that he is very short of breath and vomiting all day. Has had no fluid intake since 10 am. And now 12.5 hours later …

  27. They did not let me have visitors and falsely claimed to my family that there was no visiting. Meanwhile the guy I shared the room with got visitors. This place has a history of being rude toward patient family members.

  28. I visited the BMC Emergency Room September 28 because I needed to be evaluated for a possible heart attack. They took me right in and treated me promptly, efficiently, and professionally. I am very pleased with the level of care I got there.

  29. Absolutely the worst hospital in Massachusetts. If you have a medical emergency take the two hour trip else where because you will die in the care of these people. I waited hours to be scene with only a few others in the waiting room who …

  30. The after surgery care was excellent, once I could order my meals and a guest meal for my husband the food was great! Always what I ordered and very helpful with what could eat, if my doctor put me on a special diet.

  31. My husband had debilitating pain in his left foot. After two-and-one-half hours of waiting in a room, I asked if someone was going to care for him. A few minutes later someone appeared and addressed the problem – had to have a CAT scan, …

  33. Hello, I never rate anything though I should! I just wanted to say my most recent experience at BMC ER was awful! A Physicians assistant waited on me, he was condescending, unsympathetic, would listen to nothing I had to say, and was …

  34. Complete incompetence, the doctors do not listen to the patient. I’ve been suffering from excruciating migraines on a daily basis for five months. Every treatment they’ve tried only makes it worse, they have forgotten to phone medication …

  35. The Doctors and Nurses treat all patients with the upmost care and respect regardless of their race , religion, or gender. They were very attentive to my dad’s needs and I was able to communicate with them with no problems.

  36. Filthy floors, apathetic/rude staff, my mother was in for a surgery and was told she could have a sponge bath but there was “no soap” and we watched as her elderly roomate was not allowed to leave and 2 massive security guards keep her from …

  37. I just came from the ER and the staff there couldn’t have been nicer. I was taken right away and since the doctor thought I either had a torn rotator cuff or a pinched nerve in my arm I had X-rays done. From the X-Ray tech to Sean D and …

  38. We were vacationing in the Berkshires. On the morning of our last full day, my husband was concerned with upper back pain, heavy sweating and high pulse rate. Just to be safe we were off to BMC. Arrived at the ER just before 10 AM. …

  39. I have had good experiences and bad at this hospital like at other hospitals . It all depends on what doctor is there. I think the state needs to investigate these hospitals that get a lot of complaints and find out what doctors are the …

  40. On June 18th my husband went to the emergency room, having fallen on a hike and cut under his nose right through to his mouth. Berkshire Medical were terrific: quick, kind and effective. Dr Patterson stitched him up, six stitches …

  41. The ER is the worst thing about medical care in the Berkshires. If you have anything short of a severed limb be prepared to wait at least 4 hours probably 10. I was once brought in by ambulance and still sat in the waiting room for an hour …

  42. I am.an MD and have been a attending physician or house officer at several world class hospitals. I cannot comment about other departments of the Berkshire Medical Center , but the endoscopy service is as good as any hospital I have ever worked or been treated at.

  43. I had TSS (one of the rarest diseases) and one of the doctors kept insisting that I was made out to be “a lot worst than described” even though my kidneys were in full failure and I was obviously in a great amount of pain and my skin was …

  44. This place boasts being in the top percentile, but those accolades are paid for! Yes, it is a teaching hospital and seems to be good at that, but as for serving the public…not so much! I have been fortunate enough to be connected to …

  48. If you want to die, go to this hospital. My mother went here and was overdosed by the doctor and now her kidney function is killed and she has to start dialysis immediately 3 times a week for for four to six hours a day. They were only …

  49. Awful. It is a mish mash of nasty, incompetent nurses with a sprinkle of a few that are actually very good. The food service is deplorable. Almost every meal ordered was wrong, items missing, or small portion, or late. DO NOT order any …

  50. Jennifer, RN and Dr. Owens along with everyone else I came in contact with in the ER were very knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms and hallways were clean and well kept. Thank you for your dedication during these hard times!

  51. Terrible service. Everyone here was extremely rude, sarcastic and unwilling to help. I spent hours waiting in the emergency room for help to receive nothing and just watch the nurses walked around in circles and chat w friends.

  52. My wife came in the ER with chest pains at 5:45, by 6:20 she had an EKG and blood taken. We then waited to get a room in the ER for 3 hours. The nurse came in 20 minutes, checked my wife’s vitals. All looked good. She said she would take a …

  53. After l was discharged l was humiliated. HIPPA violation definitely occurred. No compassion from the people in front who welcome you into the emergency room. I plan on making a formal complaint because l need the names of the staff who were …

  54. The worst place for a career. Robin Sherman in Human Resources is lazy and worthless. Do not bother wasting your time here. There are much better hospitals for a career. Shame on you Robin Sherman and Berkshire Medical Center. Robin Sherman should be fired!

  55. Went to the ER for kidney stones….and got the slowest, worst service I have ever experienced. I sat in the waiting room and sweated, puked and moaned while others came in to the ER for the common cold. Have people lost their minds??? …

  56. Daughter very sick sent her home without helping her
She’s there again by ambulance and put her in the waiting room and not help her. Just cause she’s half white and Puerto rican. Shouldn’t matter. I am so sick of the hate this world shows we’re all human I will sue the hospital

  57. Noticing multiple covid violations. Disappointed, and not feeling safe in the ER waiting room. They wouldn’t even know if someone died in here waiting. I empathize with the staff during there hard times, but it’s inexcusable. The bathroom, …

  58. Best hospital I’ve ever been to. Went to both Albany hospitals to be sent home with a high fever, high heart rate, severe infection from a kidney stone that was too large to pass. Came here and got everything I needed and got the surgery the next morning. All the staff were amazing!!! And I just found my new Urologist!

  59. Was seen in the emergency room yesterday. Haven’t been there in quite some time. The front where I checked in looked amazing. Very fast from check in point to triage where I had vitals done and bloodwork and then an EKG before even getting …

  60. DO NOT WORK OR GO AS A PATIENT!!! One star is really too generous for the way they treat employees. The management and human resources do not value employees, rather the almighty dollar comes first. They were willing to let one of their …

  61. Don’t come here for anything life threatening or serious. Coming here for the flu is fine. Anything at all needing serious care take the time and go to Mass General. My father died here as the sparse staff (there literally are two people in …

  62. Bmc finance department is the worst I have ever spoke with they are rude and do not consider patients concerns. I had surgery 8 weeks ago I got a bill in the mail that stated in big red letters if you do not pay this will go to collections. …

  63. This place was very hospitable. The workers I met with were very friendly and helpful. I didn’t want to leave the second day because they made sure I was as comfortable as I could be. Also the food is good, and the service is better than any hotel I’ve been to. The surgery was also great because I was asleep and I didn’t die.

  64. My son was sent to Berkshire after his hand went through a pane window at the camp where he is a counselor. I received his call around 3:50pm that he was in the ER. He had a HUGE piece of glass going through his wrist and had little feeling …

  65. Can not be trusted. Do not get any services here without triple checking with your insurance company. I was told that since I was an employee with a specific plan that physical therapy was covered, but then received a $350 bill for an hour …

  66. What a failed business. They shut out all competition in the area, so that we’re forced to use BMC. And then they don’t feel the need to operate in any remotely reasonable way: like 7-hour (or longer) ER visits, with 1 waiting room patient getting in per hour. Never again.

  67. Went to the ER due to suicidal ideation. Had my only form of communication taken from me (I use a text to speech app on my phone), not allowed to have my care person who speaks for me (I am mute), and then a security woman came in, told me …

  76. A woman in the emergency check in at the computer behind the desk blew her nose and didn’t even bother to use hand sanitizer or wash her hands just changed her mask 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m disgusted, there’s to many people getting sick and too many elderly people and people in general in here for you to not use sanitizer or wash your hands. …
