Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates Reviews ( 53 )

  1. Trying to get routine questions asked has been a real challenge. The staff is rude and has actually hung up on me. There are many levels of bureaucracy and the person that you speak with on the phone is not knowledgeable. My experience with the doctors has been overall good.

  2. An MRI two days before surgery indicated that I did not have the condition which I was having surgery for. Dr. Beasley never told me that I did not have a back fracture. Instead, she proceeded with the surgery as scheduled.

  3. I had an MD with Dr. Nelson on 4/30 for an l4-l5 herniation and I am almost 4 months post op and doing amazing. I am so thankful for the PA Mike and Dr. Nelson for getting me through this difficult part of my life. Thank you BNA!!!

  4. Do not see Dr Beasley unless you want your fractured spine, bulging disks, disk herniations, spinal stenosis, and degenerative disk disease to be minimalized and compared to the broken wrist she once had. She will likely refer you to a pain …

  5. Had a microdiscectomy done by Dr Beasly. Everything went according to plan and the operation was a success. The administrative staff were professional and courteous and the medical staff were compassionate and sincere.

  6. New patient consult will cost you between $700-900 dollars if you’re a cash pay patient. They want a $400 deposit before you even walk in the door. If you can’t work because of your injury hence no income and no insurance, you’re screwed! …

  7. I was very disappointed in Dr Beeson’s demeanor. Her body language alone spoke volumes! slouching back against the wall, arms crossed, swinging her leg up and down rapidly like she had better things to do. Very unprofessional and rude. We paid for her time so she could atleast treat us with courtesy and respect.

  8. When you pay your bill with a credit card over the phone, the receptionist writes your credit card info on a piece of paper and gives it to accounting and says that they shred it when they are done. Not very secure. I complained and they said that’s just the way they do it.

  9. Initially, I thought for sure that I was going to have my spinal stenosis surgery here.
But after meeting the doctor and dealing with the staff I knew this would be a …

  10. Dr. Beasley may be very smart, but she cares more about protecting her career than doing what is right to help the patient through a series of mistakes that she and her team made. Most heinously unethical doctor I have ever met! I do not make these allegations lightly being a healthcare practitioner myself.

  11. The rude and inefficient staff made it impossible to move forward. I was supposed to switch from one surgeon to another due to scheduling. Both schedulers were rude and accused me of “not choosing a surgery quickly enough,” “suggesting …

  12. I went to see Dr.Bauer this morning after waiting for a month and a half. I brought all of my xrays in with me that showed a lumbar curve of 10 degrees to the right. I’ve had back pain my whole life, when I went to see him today he wouldn’t …

  13. Dr Bowers was attentive and showed empathy over my situation. The staff were very friendly and human. The understood us being a few minutes late because of road detours. Most offices would of made me reschedule .

  14. Boulder Neurosurgical Associates is our first choice for spine evaluation and care for our patients who don’t recover from their spine pain and injuries with PT alone. The reason we use BNS for our patients is that all their surgeons listen …

  15. I spoke with a rep. to mail me out the new patient paperwork. never did. I called and got the worst nastiest person I have ever spoke too. AND still do not have an appt. I have a referral and 2 insurances all she was worried about is that I …

  16. I was referred to Boulder Neuro by a local orthopedic office and tried to schedule my appointment today. I was told that Boulder Neuro, even though they accept my insurance, would not contact my insurance provider to authorize my service. …

  17. My husband broke his neck @ C1, for 10 years we suffered his pain, we couldn’t find a surgeon who was confident enough to fix him, & surgery gone bad is hard to fix. After tons of research we found Dr. Villavicencio, he performed a …

  18. Had a new patient appointment with Dr Beasley. 3 additional patients came in after my appointment time. Finally brought into the exam room at 11:30. Dr Beasley rushed through my appointment so she could go to lunch at 11:45 (heard her …

  20. please do your research…if your looking for sometimes flat out rude staff, double or triple booked 45 minute waits past your appointment time, terrible management/owenership, and SHOCKINGLY neglegent doctors and/or PA’s, this is the place …

  21. I don’t recommend this surgeon office. It’s been unorganized from the beginning. All my information was stolen out of the assistants backpack (why was it out of the office anyways?) You have to call multiple times a day to maybe get ahold …

  22. I agree with the other review about Dr Kara Beasley. What a beast of an attitude about my care, too. She was demeaning and didn’t even take the time to bring up my MRI to discuss anything on my 1st visit. She pushed two sore spots and …

  23. I was hospitalized at BCH for an injury that resulted in a herniated disc. This office was called in for a consultation while I was still in the hospital. No one disclosed at the time that the neurosurgeon was not in my network, even …

  24. I was warned ahead of time that going to the best surgeon ( in the entire country from the awards I saw) might mean a bad bedside manner! I didn’t find that to be true, but I don’t need a lot of coddling. It didn’t offend me that he was …

  25. Very pleased with the appointment I just had with Dr. Bauer. He listened closely to what I have been going through and answered all my questions thoroughly. He also provided amazing options for me that my last two neurosurgeons never …

  26. Dr. Nanney & his team are incredible. I had been struggling with low back pain for about 10 years. Finally went to see him for a consultation. Felt he answered absolutely every question I had. He was patient and reassuring. I had already …

  27. DR. DORMAN is cold, uncommunicative, & an off putting man. He performed a surgery on me fusing 4 vertebrae instead of 2 vertebrae I was told were being fused. The BNS pain relief policy is draconian!!!! I was left sobbing & in pain all …

  28. Dr. Villavicencio (Dr. V) is amazing! I am 2 years post spine fusion this December. I actually saw him 2 times before deciding on surgery. The 1st time he offered suggestions on other modalities I could try before committing to surgery. …

  29. I’m just not sure that I can find the words to describe the level of excellence, care, concern and competency demonstrated by this office. I was a patient of Dr. Nelson’s. It is clear that he has a heart for people and commitment to his …

  30. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! “Dr” chow Was the rudest human being I have come across! He showed no compassion what so ever. The second he walked in the room he had a nasty attitude. I have been told I have a herniated disc, degenerative disc …

  31. Well… this is a cattle shoe. Absolutely no bedside manner… talks for five minutes and sends in his schedule person to book surgery. Front desk woman was unpleasant and inaccurate..turns out I got my mri in 2 days. She told me that wouldn’t happen. He may be a very skilled surgeon…but come on!!?. We are humans here.

  32. Dr Villavacencio lacks any sort of bedside manner and his level of compassion is non existent. He did not review any medical history or imaging prior to walking in the patient room. In addition for waiting nearly 2 hours for the …

  33. Recently recovered from 2 spinal fusions, cervical and lumbar, performed at BCH. These were big procedures, and I was grateful to have Dr Villavicencio and his team as my caregivers. I felt well informed and prepared for each operation, and …

  34. Surgery with Dr. Nelson 2 years ago and have only seen him a couple of times. Pushed off to his asst, Mike who constantly reschedules appts. Still having issues after surgery and can’t get in to see anyone for followup. Once again, they …

  35. Wow, had L4-S2 fusion from Dr Chow on 11/17/21 and now I feel like I have a new back! My chronic pain was noticably less when I woke up from surgery and now six weeks out barely any pain is noticable. For years before surgery I could barely …

  36. Dr. Villavicencio – aka Dr. V – at BNS was my neurosurgeon. He is a genius! I was in too much pain in my back to want to live that way. He performed a two-level cervical fusion to prepare me for the extensive thoracolumbar fusion that was 5 …
