Having put down its roots in Madison in 1995, Capitol Bank has a story that is closely entwined with that of the local community and people we serve. When it was established, the vision was for a bank that focused on local decision-making, above-and-beyond personal service, and deep roots in the community. This vision created the platform for the kind of bank it would become and the qualities which customers would come to depend on. Throughout its history, Capitol Bank has grown from a few staff members to over 50 today. When we first opened our doors, we had $5 million in capital representing the Banks total asset base. After the first full year in business, we reported assets of $35.6 million. In 2006, Capitol Bank opened in Verona and in 2022, a third location opened in East Madison. In 2022, Capitol Bank had over 60 employees and over $500 million in assets. We’re known for business banking, commercial lending, mortgage lending and community-centric values.
