Consumers energy is a monopoly. Poor customer service. Their set policies are parallel to their monopoly scheme. It’s best to stay out of their monopoly service areas.
They don’t maintain their lines, this is I believe the 3rd time stuff in our woods has caught fire because of branches in the lines. Don’t even get me started on their customer service. I only wish I could give zero stars.
I’m a landlord and is being charged with the tenants $9,234 energy use. How? The theft investigation woman name Kristen is rude and very passive aggressive. This has become a nightmare and I’m losing sleep cause I could lose my house over this.
Terrible service. Customer service is terrible. Dont switching to natural gas. Taken over 3 months and still don’t have a line in the ground. Make sure if u switch from propane to natural gas you have plenty of propane in the tank. U won’t be getting a gas line in a timely matter.

While I was at work, Consumers Energy shut off my gas to change the meter without a guarantee to have it back on the same day. Have to wait until tomorrow sometime and now I have to take off work. Temps down to freezing tonight with no heat. This is monumental incompetence. Looking into alternatives.
Out of power for 5 days, doesn’t meet their threshold for a credit. Doesn’t matter that I had to call every one of those days without power. Doesn’t matter that their restoration map lied to us twice a day during the outage. My time …

Consumers Energy is great. We live in the woods with a lot of trees. As such, we’re more vulnerable to power outages from trees falling. Our power hasn’t gone out for more than a couple seconds this year. Whatever they did to improve the reliability of our power, I greatly appreciate.
