  1. Everyone complaining here should do some research on the slew of bad investments and failed projects they’ve been involved with as well bringing on retired Fiber employees to get a second pension on our rate dollar.

  3. This company has taken advantage of the monopoly that they have. No customer service to speak of and they are unwilling to listen to the people who supposedly own this establishment.

  4. Unfair practices. Inflated rates based on false data. Unbelievably bad customer service. Overpaid, uncaring staff. You know… the typical publicly-owned power company.

  5. Nearly every time I have called to speak with a “customer service” representative they have been snooty and condescending. The rates are outrageous and the monopoly they have leaves consumers with no other choice but to deal with them. Beyond disgusted and disappointed with this place!

  6. Talked with Colleen about weatherization stuff. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Was on a hold a bit but once answered the staff was courteous and actually forwarded me to a person.

  8. I simply can’t afford the rate increase. We are a middle class couple who has a mortgage and two car payments. It is absolutely sickening that the cowlitz pud could care less how the ridiculous rate increases affect people. They are using their monopoly to devastate the citizens of cowlitz county.

  9. They are great! I am from out of county and the local group im forced to deal with in my home town in straight nasty. These people are informative and helpful. I do not belive an over the pgone fee close to 10 dollara is necessary though. Other than that, keep it up!

  10. Changed our due date from the usual 9th to the 1st and made our account pay in cash only and then charged us $475 because we were late on the payment. Absurd and almost criminal business practices.

  11. I see a lot of people posting stuff like OMG, my bill was $549 this month. I have a 2500SqFt home and a 1200SqFt Shop and never have I been over $200 for a single month, and I use a lot of electricity. Try turning some things off and not leave them running. Cowlitz is one of the lowest in the Nation. No Complaints here!!

  16. Power outages happen from time to time. Now they seem to be happen more frequently which means calling to report the outage. Incredibly apathetic and disinterested phone support when calling to report or get a status update after 3 hours of being without power while caring for two disabled eldarly.

  17. Anybody complaining about rates needs to move somewhere else, The rates are about half the national average. Been with Cowlitz PUD a little over a year now, had them on the phone a few times, could be friendlier but were always helpful. Will take these guys over Clark PUD anyday.

  25. Every time we’ve had an issue, it’s been resolved promptly. And for those complaining about prices, it’s about 4 cents per kw/h — and since we moved from a place that was literally ten times that amount, we’re always pleasantly surprised by our bills.
