This place is a joke they wouldn’t even come out and turn someone’s lights on that is 8 months pregnant and has a young son. And paid $500 to have it turned on!!!! BULL S***
I came upon a downed power line on my way home tonight and I tried to call and report it, but there was no way to contact an after hours dispatcher. Their phone system is ridiculous. Oh well, guess they can find out about it in the morning.
Horrible customer service. Power failures on a regular basis. Can’t wait to move back to Nashville where there is dependable electric service. What a joke of a company.
I have worked for CEMC for over 6 years and I would not want to work anywhere else in Clarksville. My work family is incredible and I hope to stay here until I retire one day.
I had an issue with billing, CEMC called/emailed me to work through the issue. We found a solution through our communication, and CEMC took the time to listen to my additional concerns. Thank you!
I was told I had a balance that I was not aware about now they want to charge me 230 for a deposit cause of a 52 dollars balance. where does that make sense…
My husband and I have been customers with CEMC for 13 years, including two moves. They have continued to provide great service and easy transitions throughout.
Hands down the worst electric service I have used. They were unfriendly, did not give notice of planned outages, wildly inconsistent with their billing and unable to answer about large fluctuations in cost. If you have a choice, do not choose CEMC.
I have never had such poor electricity. We lost power during almost every big storm. You’d think they would learn after losing power the first few times, but nope, they just slap a band aid on a bullet wound and wait until the next storm.
A behind the times corrupt business that doesn’t care about customer service. Having a monopoly on areas of Clarksville has resulted in frivolous charges, a “membership” to a “co-op” that yields nothing but power; yet the consumer is left …
Highest electric bills in Tennessee by far. Poor service, outages all the time. Wasn’t even home for a whole month, didn’t use any eletricity and they still charged 300 bucks?!? If you can help it, never use them. …
In my opinion I pay way to much for electric. My energy cost is not much but the other fees is crazy. Ive also been in a bind and couldn’t pay bill and I call them to ask for more time…they say we can’t guarantee anything. I’ll pass info along!!
Big shout out to the guys on Truck 171. They came out to solve a ground rod issue, that turned out to not be CEMC’s issue and solved it for me anyway. Thanks alot men!!!
Had a good experience with changing over the information from my deceased ex-husband’s name to my name for billing and ownership of property.
However, things went very badly when it came to final billing. I called and …
I have stopped by this location several times for last 3 years and have had no issues. All the staff here are very friendly and helpful. Recently, 21MAY19, I needed to set up a landlord account and Mrs. Stacie Williams explained …
If I had an option to power my home with a dozen hungry bears on bicycles peddling to keep light bulbs on, I would choose that. I’m currently writing this review in the dark, without power, yet again, for the umpteenth time within the last …
not even worth one star. Required $500 deposit to initiate service, I have never had issues with power companies before. Would not state reason why or get me to a manager to help determine the reason. Moved to TN in November, my power …
Never had problems with CEMC staff from office to field staff, always courteous and professional! Only problem I have is with the contractors hired to clear trees for the new fiber optic service! Cut trees and limbs down along side our …
If a person has good credit, they will not need to put up a deposit, but only a 35$ membership fee. When service was disrupted due to a storm or a downed line, my husband would call and would be notified if the outage had been reported or …
This is a great company to work for. They are involved in the community and with charities. I am also a member, and have been for 31 years. Never had any trouble with service. Yes there are occasional outages, but I know they are …
We had a wonderful experience when trying to set up service over the phone. The phone representative was so polite and kind. Moving from out of state is already so stressful, but the process to get electric set up at our new home was a fast …
Our family has experienced at least 6 outages in the 8 months we’ve been a “customer” of CEMC. Customer service is not very helpful and are eager to interrupt and deflect. We’ve lived near or in the “gulf” most of our lives and endured …
I’ve lived in Clarksville for 12 years and use to have CDE. Never had a power outage issue. Bought a house and it was only serviced through CEMC. It hasn’t even been a year and I had 7 power outages! SEVEN. One right now and it isn’t even …
I have been a part of Cumberland Electric (CEMC) for a little over a year now. I have to say between them and CDE they have been more affordable and offer several solutions for electric. Either the old school month by month pay or you can …
Today was my first time visiting. EMC and it was amazing! The service is amazing and the employees are super kind and helpful. The building is super clean and the prices are amazing!
The highest electricity bill i have ever witnessed. who charges a fee for being a customer. I wish CDE serviced my area, my bills were never over 160$ with them and that was including internet.
We have been with them for a year and a half. If you’ve never been with them before, or new to TN, there’s a $500 deposit to get electric. You’re supposed to get it back as long as your bills are paid on time. Common sense. …
Thank you CEMC for your quick response to the power outage near my mother’s and my house. My 84 year old mother is ill with cancer and has to use oxygen at times. We came back home from the Dr today to find our electric was off. We thank …
They charge you $30.00 per month because your their customers plus they charge you something TVA fuel cost and the electric charged. This is something that never happened to me with CDE I just pay my electric utility this people(CEMC) are stealing our money I have bad luck that CDE don t work in my area …
First experience made me regretful to move to TN. I have almost an 800 credit score and they charged a $315 deposit that you don’t get back for 3 years!! Worst customer service ever.
I moved my internet service to CEMC because of price and services offered. I also made the move because they promised better security ad the ability to resolve any intrusion issues from hackers, etc. They later introduced more services …
If I could put no star I would, this company be stealing people money. This is the highest electricity bill I ever paid. My bill went from $230 which I thought was the highest bill I ever paid to $389 the following month when nothing have …
The highest eletric bills I have ever had in my life and have lived in about half of the great usa. Was on prepaid at first because our deposit if remember correctly was like 5 or $600 and we could not afford at the time so went prepaid and …
Yesterday was my first time setting up services with CEMC (I have always had CDE in the past) and I was so thankful for the smiling faces when I walked in. My service was setup by Mrs. Williams and she was so pleasant to work with. She was …
No words for this company. In December I lost my wallet and CEMC was one of the companies tied to my cards. Obvious it was late because on the autopay I just don’t pay attention and it comes out. Well this was late, I paid the bill plus …
Forming a petition to stop negligence with this company, they keep adding fees, but refuse to service their grid or existing lines. More power outages with this company than anywhere I’ve lived including TEXAS and thats saying something. I will have lawyers follow suit after.
One star is the most they deserve. I’ve moved out from the area they serviced a while ago but they still charge me the bill for the part I’m not responsible for paying. Absolutely horrible and very greedy.
Always a huge disappointment
No reguard for human life.
Thay always take my money with a smile.
Outages EVERY month. Rain? Outage. It is clockwork.
I love working for a company that cares for its members, employees, and community!
Great place to work. Wonderful employees that truly care about their community.
May be the only provider here.
Thank you to everyone who worked late shifts so that the greater portion of Woodlawn could have power again.
Y’all are disrespectful af. I work all day and come home to a power outage?!?! The nerve on y’all.
Not up front about prices, bit outdated, Monopoly on being the only service provider.
I absolutely hate that when I moved I had to go over to CDE. CEMC is by far the better group.
Workers are very nice and helpful
Great to work at a place with so many high quality individuals. Excellent customer service and prompt response when dealing with power outages.
Highest electricity bills i have every paid.Slow repair service to boot.CDE runs circles around them plus charge less for service.
Customer service is excellent!!
Outside crews do a great job restoring power in a safe and timely matter.
Affordable and reliable electric service. Very prompt response when dealing with unexpected power outages. Courteous and professional staff.

We’ve been their customers 4 months now and have lost power each month. No joke. It’s ridiculous for the price we pay.

A tree at my house has fallen across the power lines and I have tried SEVERAL times to contact CEMC and no way to after hours.
