Worst experience of my life. Completely disrespectful staff. I tried having a conversation with a nurse and she walked away in the middle of my sentence. Never go here ever !!! Very disgusting and not clean at all.
rude staff and they don’t return messages or hardly pick up the phone. Once they did pick up the phone and said they were “very busy” when I asked for the results of a test that were ready. UMMMM SO? I pay for these things and don’t care how busy you are. Treat your clients with respect. I will not be returning.
1 star is for the staff – the absolutely worst i have ever had to deal with in my entire adult life. They are unorganized and extremely rude – which strikes me odd, given they are dealing with women’s reproductive health – they could be a little more sensitive to that.
I have been with Downtown Women for as long as I can remember. I personally see Dr. Buxbaum, and she is fantastic. She generally meets with me first, and we go over every detail of my health. She takes her time, and asks questions. She is personable, as is the balance of the staff. I feel amazing well taken care of!
Long wait times, rude staff. I had a question about something very important to me and the doctor was incredibly rude and made me feel like an idiot. I will never go back. I felt unsafe and left in tears. Terrible bedside manner.
nurses are nice enough, but otherwise it’s impossible to get in touch with these people. Billing department will obviously answer your calls though.
want your money and nothing more. Wouldn’t recommend.
Do NOT go here. Doctor was extremely rude and the nurses act put out if you expect them to answer any questions. You have to hound the office for test results. Everyone I’ve spoken to who went here also had horrible experiences. This place was so awful that I had to switch to a different practice mid-pregnancy.
I’ve been going here for years and love it. The receptionist is bubbly and friendly, the staff is polite and caring, and my doctor (Kolton) is amazing. She listens to what i have to say, answers all my questions and is never in a rush.
I repeatedly have positive experiences here and have seen more than one GYNO/Midwife. Dr. Whitehead’s bedside manner is second to none and she makes you feel comfortable and listened to no matter the subject topic. The office is usually packed so get there early to check-in.
A midwife made insensitive and medically false statements to my wife concerning her weight on a Friday afternoon in a voicemail and then left town for the weekend. The doctor was late to our birth and didn’t actually make it to the hospital …
Avoid at all costs. This place is so disorganized. They will double charge you, they will make it impossible to book an appointment, they won’t refill your prescriptions. A receptionist once scolded me on the phone (as if I were a child) …
I am of the “don’t say anything unless you have something nice to say” school of things, but I am breaking my rule today. 16 years ago I had such a terrible delivery under their care that I am still dealing with the emotional ramifications. Absolutely awful experience. Many of the doctors are still there. Avoid avoid avoid.
This review is specifically about Nurse Michelle she is amazing. Very good at answering questions and going over all possibilities, creating a plan with you. Checking up on you and really makes you feel like she cares. I highly recommend being seen by her.
I went to Downtown’s Women on the referral of a colleague. I had been with the same ob/gyn for the past 15 years and needed to switch to a closer and more modern practice. The staff was friendly, including the receptionist. I found the location to be convenient and clean. I will be back.
Terrible experience with multiple doctors. I knew something was wrong and multiple doctors refused to take action or even run tests. Turns out I have a genetic disorder which OBGYB should have diagnosed. The specialist I finally found was appalled that OBGYN did not diagnose.
I got billed $225 for having a conversation, yes a conversation about birth control. I didn’t physically receive from them. And I wasn’t told that I would be charged for having a conversation about it.
Just went for my first appointment. Love, love this practice. Check in for a new patient was seamless, waiting area bright and well decorated, great music, welcoming and efficient staff. Nurse practitioner immediately made me feel at ease.
Adding to the slew of negative reviews about this place, particularly about their billing. Was double billed for what should have been a covered annual visit because of a yeast infection I had at the time. Spoke to my insurance who said …

I highly do not recommend this place to anyone. The doctors are awful. They will not address any concerns that you have. The doctor that I saw said she point blank that she was too busy to answer any of my questions. Never bother to return …

Have been going to downtown women for years and have reco’ed many friends. The absolute best patience care! Dr Buxbaum was so wonderful— incredibly kind, extremely thorough and knowledgable, comforting. Every doctor I’ve seen over the years as been great!
I want to be clear that this post is only about the OB side of the practice. I’ve come to see Jessica Safier on the GYN side for years and she is amazing. But in the middle of march, I was pregnant and had a really negative experience on …
I started at Downtown Women OB/GYN this year after trying two other OB/GYN practices in the area. Downtown Women provided such wonderful care of us through our pregnancy and delivery of our baby girl in March. We loved every doctor we saw …
I do not suggest this office if you are planning on getting pregnant. They were fine for my annual check ups but not a good choice when I got pregnant. The office has six doctors and you see a different one for each pregnancy follow-up …

I had a very good experience with Downtown Women OBGYN. They were there throughout my entire pregnancy. Dr. Suzanne LeJoie successfully performed an external version on me just two weeks before I was due, and Dr. Antonette Whitehead …
I really don’t understand these reviews. The office is never packed and I am always seen on time and certainly no one is ever rude. I love all of my doctors here, especially Dr Kolton and Dr Buxbaum. The care and treatment is top notch and the respect and listening is of the highest order.
I can’t recommend these docs highly enough. I’ve been a patient for 10+ years and have been kindly, generously, and expertly cared for in every checkup, test, and procedure. I’ve referred friends for OB services with happy, healthy babies …
I would not recommend this office. They are unresponsive and difficult to communicate with. They do tests without asking the client and stick you with the bill.
Unfortunately, I had my first baby with this office and wish I would have seen these reviews. Their office was convenient for my husband and I but I will be not returning. My experience is too long to type but from billing to my delivery …
I’ve always had a horrible experience. Just about everyone at this practice lacks basic manners, respect, and decency. The nurses and office managers are rude and they clearly care very little about the patient experience. They are quick to …
I’ve been a patient for at least six years and will never go back. For GYN visits, they’re fine but after terrible experiences with their OB practice, I cannot tell others enough to run, quickly, from this practice. Both nurses and doctors …

I came for an annual check-up and mammogram prescription with Dr. Leat Mechlovitz. I was charged $400 for mammography services, which surprised me because usually, when my previous doctor ordered a mammogram screening, I was 100% covered. …

This place is a complete letdown. If I could give them a 0 star, I would. There are much better OBGYN service providers in the city. DO NOT go here if you could help it. I had a C section and the doctor (Dr. Lui) did a great job. However, …

I’ve consistently received really great care here over the course of 8 years. Everyone has been kind, thorough, and professional. When I had a situation that required being seen urgently, they made room for me immediately. I’m a huge fan of this practice.

Do not go here
Horrifying service, unorganized and rude. Look elsewhere ladies.
This poor review is based on poor customer service over the phone.
OK care, rude receptionist, insurance claim incorrectly filed. I won’t go back.
Only had good experiences here! I recommend this office.
Took my wife there and it’s like a zoo. Nurse are unprofessional and very very rude.
Dr. Lajoie is awesome. She actually listens!
Just left after seeing Michelle Robbins. She was so thorough and informative and the front desk was a dream.
I’ve gone here for many years and found the staff warm and helpful. The docs are smart and listen and helped me through various issues.
Loved having my baby with Dr. Lajoie. The whole practice was very professional and encourage little intervention delivery
Hour plus wait time. Rude staff. Kept being told 5 an inaccurate wait time. Would avoid at all costs.
Love Dr. Whitehead. I have had good experiences with this office for both Gyno and OB services.
