2000 Hospital Dr, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464
The front desk staff is rude and cold. The doctors and nurses are the opposite of the front desk. Thank goodness 😅 …
This is a wonderful medical facility. I’ve seen other reviews complaining about the rudeness of the lobby staff. No way. I have been treated with respect by everyone at this facility. My husband has had two procedures there and I am so …
unprofessional
unprofessional disaster
rude. Unbelievably rude.
Excellent people
Very nice hospital.
They are awesome!!
Awesome hospital. Awesome staff.
Great staff
Inflated bill. Take forever to do anything. …probably to inflate the bills
Polite staff quick service. Unfortunate to be here but glad we came.
Prompt emergency care, friendly Nurses, Doctors and Receptionist.
My son was born here. Staff was great.
This place will illegally charge you for things you did not get done…. stay clear and they wont figure out your issue anyway.
Admin staff are rude
DO NOT go to this hospital unless you want your credit ruined.
We delivered our first child. it was an excellent experience!
Amazing staff calm clean environment single rooms. Just amazing!!
RUDE. RUDE . RUDE. I understand we are all under pressure but change your attitude – it’s not helpful. God bless you today.
Very nice facility. Very efficient staff.
Compared to trident hospital this place is the Taj Mahal!! Clean, staff is friendly!! Wonderful hospital!!
I would highly recommend this hospital. The Dr’s and staff were friendly and took great care of me.
The absolute worst hospital to give birth in. Do not go here. Trust me.
Extremely rude and unhelpful front lobby staff. This very unpleasant encounter tarnished my view of the hospital.
I got a splinter in my foot and when I went here to get it out they made me wait 4 hours to call a doctor from another hospital just to tell me I needed an antibiotic
I was there for out patient knee surgery. The staff was great and very professional. They had the whole process down pat.
I have had only excellent care, three surgeries. Doctors, Nurses, Tecs & Hospital we’re fantastic!
It was the best experience I’ve ever had at a hospital. It was like being at a five star hotel.
Excellent ER department. Very professional and super friendly, which make the experience as “stress free” as possible given the typical circumstances.
Thanks to all on 2nd floor with my test for the past 2 days. You are all the best and friendliest people and of course Dr.Rya Kaplan💖You are all the best❤️Kathleen Fitzpatrick …
Dr Bens and the nurse Lauren excellent people took time to listen and cared for me had me feeling way better in no time thanks yall!
Very compassionate nurses, top quality care from Dr Coleman in ER!
Had surgery on my knee today. Staff and stay was awesome. Dr. Geier performed my surgery. I’m well pleased.
This hospital is a great place for any procedures that you may need to have done. It is very clean, and staff are all very helpful.
Been here 2 day still haven’t had for because I am diabetic and am on a low carb diet but they feed me food I am not able to eat I just had spine surgery I can’t uber and go get it when I can’t walk I’m at a loss as to what to do I’m at their mercy
The Staff and Doctors at ECMC are a rare breed, they dont specialize in what you want, but are Master specialists at what you need. Would always recommend.
The nurses and doctors like Dr. Brodie McKoy were all AMAZING. The care and everyone’s bedside manner was top notch.
The people make the difference. Everyone we encountered was not only the tops personally and professionally but also genuinely concerned that we were comfortable and all needs were being met. We are highly confident for our future needs here.
I called this morning inquiring about a doctor and I spoke with a woman named Shaunte. She really went out of her way to help me and I really appreciated her kindness and patience. Thank you Shaunte!
We’ve been harassed by the billing department over payment when they cant show us where our money went. We have spent hours on the phone with this incompetent group and still no resolve! Never again will we come back here.
While I’m sure there are many kind and caring people who work here, the employees we dealt with were extremely rude and unprofessional. This was on 2 separate occasions, so we will seek our medical care elsewhere.
Like the Ritz- Carlton of hospitals. From the Volunteers, food service, general staff, Nurses , PAs and Physicians all are helpful and polite. Rooms are first rate, quiet and service is quick and helpful when requested.
This hospital is just amazing! All the staff & medical personnel consistently go above & beyond. Everyone here is so genuinely nice! The process for surgery is well planned & the facility is extremely clean. Best of the best!!!
Made an appointment for 11:40am online, indicating I was a new patient. After driving an hour to get there, I was told new patients could not be see. After 11am. What??? Their system scheduled me knowing I was a new patient.
I had to make a trip to the ER due to a broken arm while on vacation. I cannot say enough about how wonderful and attentive all of the staff was. They made me feel at ease and at home. Thank you for helping me through a difficult time!
The doctor that was there for 15 minutes gets $2000. So he makes over $8000 an hour. I should have just left my shoulder dislocated. …
Never have I ever had such great care and service as I had with East Cooper Medical Center. All the staff and nurses cared for my every need. I highly recommend East Cooper for your surgery and professional care.
They get a five plus an A+, for cleanliness, efficient check in, professional courtesy.
They took very good care of me! The dietitian even tried to provide balanced meals, for my asthmatic restrictions.
I had knee surgery by Dr Brodie McKoy at East Cooper. Everyone was great, I was extremely well prepared in advance of surgery by the hospital. I could not have asked for any better care. I recommend Dr. McKoy to everyone I see who is considering surgery.
They are accepting of animal abuse and don’t deserve anyone’s business. A person who abuses animals shows they have very little regard for life in general-including human. Avoid this hospital on those conditions alone. …
Our first child was delivered at East Cooper, and I can’t say enough about how great our experience was. The nurses and doctors were great (even at 3:00 in the morning). I highly recommend this hospital.
The parking here is horrible. I am 65 and suffer from extreme arthritis. As with other businesses there is assigned parking for handicapped, expectant mothers. The rest of us have to park a good piece away from the building entrance. I …
Mary Lou was an EXCELLENT nurse for my stay on 7-16-22.
Was recently cared for by the Infusion Center for the last several months. Was very impressed with both with Kate and Jeannie. They are both very professional and yet treat each patient with great kindness. The registration desk also do a great job problem solving. Sherry Makela
Second time here for a ultrasound. First time 3 hours from scheduled appointment time before they saw me today it’s been over an hour. Just left and told them I am going elsewhere. Roper gives much better service. No respect for my time
Sent my Mother home from the ER after 9 hours when she had such terrible back pain that she couldn’t even sit up. Transferred her home via ambulance and the transport team moved her from gurney to the bed, where they knew she was immobile …
One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Dr. Olson in the ER is one of the most uncaring individuals I have ever met. He is in the wrong field for sure. This used to be a decent hospital, it has gone down the tubes majorly. Really sad to see.
This is the BEST HOSPITAL AND STAFF I have ever been in!! The nurses and staff were incredible. Always on point, very professional and pleasant to be around. This is my hospital of choice. Great job everyone and thank you.
The staff was somewhat professional, not great. Unfortunately the billing department is a racket. They tried to charge over $12,000 for a kidney stone visit that lasted under two hours. Would never go back.
I have just moved to this area three months ago, and was hoping to receive good care. I found out that I have had a kidney stone, and they took the scans, blood work, and gave me pain medicine then sent me out. I was still vomiting, crying …
Just in case you didn’t know, East Cooper Hospital is a “For Profit” hospital so be prepared to pay more for your services. I strongly suggest anyone that chooses this facility for their care, to ask for an itemized billing of their …
The care at EC was terrible & ultimately led to my mothers death much before her time! I have lived in Charleston for many years but didn’t know much about hospitals & my mom needed care at the time. Sadly, once I admitted her EC made it …
“Not impressed with this place at all” My wife had back surgury, was to be only one night wound up being 3 nights. I realize the pt. has priority but sometimes it’s worse on the family because the pt. Is medicated. The staff didn’t hardly …
I recently went to the Emergency Room at East Cooper Medical Center for a GI virus. The nurse did not ‘scrub the hub of my IV’/sterilize my IV access before administering medication nor did she wear gloves while doing so. I will never be returning since they cannot follow basic infection prevention methods.
Worst experience with a medical facility in my life! Went in for (what I thought) was a gallbladder attack. The intake nurse was beyond rude. She didn’t even write down any of my initial complaints, just a bunch of dramatic bs that she …
I had my baby here and it was a complete disaster. Between numerous epidurals not working and shots to kick start it that caused me to crash twice and my baby to lose oxygen levels. Baby would not fit so had to do a c section. They forgot …
This hospital ER should be examined. Too many details to share.
Except for one female ER doctor just about every one that works there needs to …
I delivered my son there 6 months ago and I STILL think about how awesome the nurses were when I delivered Carter. I couldn’t think about delivering anywhere else in Charleston, when it comes time for a 2nd child. Daddy was impressed with the steak dinner as well!! Thank you again for being awesome.
My review is prior to surgery. I’ve been calling and leaving message and emails for 15 days with the financial and insurance department to ask a few simple questions and nobody will even return my call. My pre-op is scheduled for Monday and …
I would give them 0 stars if I could. I went into the ER yesterday for difficulty breathing only to be told “It is state law that service animals are not allowed in patient or surgical rooms.” I pulled up the Americans with Disabilities Act …
Most incompetent ER doctors and nurses. First I had to worry about Summerville Med and Trident being the worse hospitals in the area. Nope East Cooper is now tied with them. Go to MUSC or Roper and save yourself pain, hassle, and maybe even …
We were in Charleston on a mini-vacation when my wife became very sick. Luckily ECMC was nearby and was able to see her right away. From the receptionist to the nurse to the doctor all were top notch and very friendly. We were made to feel …
Very impressed with this hospital. Lots of volunteers to help guide you. The registration process was easy and very pleasant. All the nurses were excellent in their care and advice. I would highly recommend East Cooper Medical Center if you need to have surgery.
I give them 4 stars for service and the doctor staff cause they where great and my procedure went perfect.
BUT THEY have the worst people and program when it comes to payments …
Unfortunately this review is due to extremely poor billing experience. I’d recommend going elsewhere simply to not have to deal with months of trouble. After providing my secondary insurance in the beginning, it somehow was lost. So when I …
I have had various medical procedures done at this hospital, and each time it never ceases to disappoint me. The lack of staff competency, the RIDICULOUS controls they have in place (why did east cooper put into place a 72-hour wait time …
I really enjoyed this hospital. The doctors, nurses was great. Gave me details on how my son was doing, kept me updated. I wasnt planning on delivering at this hospital since I’m from virginia but God knew what he was doing at the right …
I’m sitting here on my second visit for a pre-op appointment. They are currently 1-hour late. I was told by neighbor doctor that they are owned by tenet health, and one of the most profitable hospitals in the network. They do charge …
East Cooper is a good hospital for routine births. Howerver for premies (under 37 weeks old) or for babies with other complications East Cooper is not a good choice. The providers at this hospital provide excellent care for routine …

This hospital saved my life!! I was there and I had an ultrasound the radiology tech wasn’t even supposed to look at the a certain area but instead she did and found a huge sack of fluid on my spleen, that explained all the pain I was going …
Billing. I came into emergency room, quoted 150 with no insurance. I then received Bill for 350 from hospital. Then 1000k Bill from 3rd party company that “rents” out doctors. I was there for 42 mins. Doctor did 10 mins with me. East …
I had an excellent experience here. I was a new patient and felt as if everyone cared about getting me well. Joel Moore was an excellent doctor and you could tell he cared. The nurse was cool too but I unfortunately can’t remember his name.
I had the best experience in labor & delivery. The nurses that cared for me and my baby were amazing, I cried when it was time to leave them. It was totally worth the drive from North Charleston to Mt Pleasant for all the prenatal appointments at East Cooper Gyn/OB.
Had surgery here. Service was quick, professional, and kind. Couldn’t have asked for better service. They we’re very accommodating by getting me warm blankets when I was freezing, using numbing in my hand before putting in the IV, which was a welcoming difference to prior surgeries, and more.
The only reason they get 2 stars is because of very nice receptionist Alice at ER entrance. Drove 2 hours to the hospital my orthopedic and pain management docs work through, because I was having severe acute new onset back and hip pain. I …
Im at EC right now and this is hands down the worst hospital experience I’ve ever endured. I cant believe a hospital of this prestige can be so inefficient and slow.
My wife had hip surgery with Dr. Pappas at East Cooper Hospital yesterday. From beginning to the end the nurses and hospital staff were full of love and care. Many thanks for a great outcome to everyone involved
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

If I could put a zero I would!! As a nurse myself it’s unbelievable that the hospital stays open as there are hardly any patients…went to ER with a family member to rule out blood clot.. they could not do ultrasound as they have no one on …
Just went to the ER after my six-year-old injured her wrist. Everyone from registration, to nursing and Dr. Sorrell made her feel so comfortable. The care was both compassionate and efficient and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend East Cooper ER for all of your emergency care.

Want to give a shout-out to Adam, head of security. He was extremely helpful, courteous and had a great demeanor when he was shouldered with an unexpected burden. He spent over 2 hours of his time helping me around the hospital when he didn’t have to do so. Thank you for your efforts and dedication!
My two babies were delivered here. During the course of those two pregnancies, I had six overnight stays which included the deliveries as well as monitoring of some complications. I was very pleased with the way I was treated each time that …

After having a terrible experience at MUSC, I experienced quality care, attention to details, compassionate and professional service at East Cooper Hospital. The facility was clean and inviting. Moreover, the fifth floor nursing staff were excellent. I will be returning soon for an additional procedure.

East Cooper hospital is wonderful. They have wonderful nurses, physical therapist and all the staff. I think that Dr. Brown is a sweetheart, he has a wonderful bedside manner and shows so much concern for his patients. I was there from March 26th to April 7th, I feel like I was always treated great every day.
I’ve had several experiences and surgeries here and all of which were handled very well. The nurses are always very nice and attentive. I would trust this hospital and recommend it to my loved ones. It’s surprising to see these low ratings …

Overall, I had a good experience at East Cooper during surgery a 4 day stay. Very nice staff, with the exception of the ER, intake person. She got snappy with me for moaning and asking to lay down while was in pain and I asking to lay down. Noone else in ER at the time. I may have interrupted her lunch.
I was seen in the ER on Saturday for an allergic reaction. The service was swift and very good. My nurse Rickie was excellent and my Doctor was really accommodating and fast. The room was clean and private. It was a very comforting visit to the ER, so I’m thankful.
