tried to contact member services, was keep on hold for over 15 minutes and at that point it just disconnected. then when I called back it just disconnected. no option given to leave a number for them to call me back and no number available for my branch, just the one 800 number for all of them

Do not accept checks from here if you do not have a bank account, unless you charge an additional $5 for the service. If you bank here $5 of your hard earned money for every check you write for good reasons has the potential of lining their pockets.
