I do not see exceptional care at this hospital. Unless I am having elective surgery or it is a life and death situation this hospital would not be my choice.
ON 7/15/16, I WAS TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM VIA AMBULANCE AND VERY PROMPTLY TAKEN CARE OF…I HAD FALLEN DOWN MY CELLAR STAIRS AND HIT THE CEMENT FLOOR AND ENDED UP WITH HEAD INJURIES…. …

Please think twice about going to Ellis for medical care. Amy and Thomas I will never forget this night. As a medical professional you both should be ashamed of yourselves. Both personally and occupationally. For you to treat a patient the …
I would HIGHLY recommend NOT going to the mental health clinic!!!! You will go through multiple counselors each year as they cant seem to keep them and the doctors are horrible!!!
Worse hospital ever, you go there for severe back pain numbness in your legs and they make you a doctor’s appointment with your own primary doctor they don’t even try and help you find a spinal doctor I could have made my own appointment …
. I never go to the doctors but this morning I woke up feeling extremely sick after being outside in the cold on monday for hours. I go in here and the “physicians assistant’ (whp’s pretending to be a doctor) talks to me for idk 20 …
This by far is the worst hospital I’ve ever been to if I could give or leave no stars I definitely would went to Ellis Hospital stood in the waiting area for over 2 hours only to be seen by Stephen Sokaris MD and told that they could not …
This place is horrible and its sad that this is the only place equipped to do xrays if needed. Urgent care doesn’t have that!!! Ellis ER are so slower than molasses. The staff are unbeliaveably rude one of the techs/Medical assistant came …
Short staffed facility unfortunately. No one explained why we weren’t qualified for fast track care. We sat in the FIRST waiting room for 3 hours just to move to another waiting room when we were puking and coughing with severe flu. Worst …
Rude staff incorrect information doctors who give misdiagnoses “emergency” rooms with 2 and a half hours waiting times dirty facility and too top it all off nobody in there seems to give a damn, worst experience with a hospital ive ever had …
Worst E.R. The staff was rude, and you wait hours to see someone. This is with chest pain, arm pain and jaw pain. Heart Attack. No One Cares. Just take a sit and wait.
This hospital is a joke.. Injured back came to ER the doctor comes in rubs my back and gives me painkillers and sends me away no x Ray just by touch…..a one second rub down my spine…..nurses are rude and make sick jokes about …
Have waited in the ER for 7 hours before being seen. After seeing the doctor for a minute, waited another several hours for xray to come. Worst service ever. I’m sure everyone is working hard however their system is not.
Don’t go there if you have a child!! I was there with a 2 year old that hit his head I waited 3 hours! I left and went to Albany med .. they took him in in less then 30 min!! They only had 2 pa’s no doctor!!! It was a terrible experience.
Careless, unprofessional hospital employees, the staff violated my rights
They put me in a predicament that was indignant they
Should’ve been penalized for there actions i faced repercussion even tho I was …
Is the worst hospital around they should be ashamed of themselves.poison ivy and there asking about my breathing .lol makes ya wonder about them being dr.s
This Hospital needs -0 Stars !! Worse hospital probably in the whole NEW YORK STATE ! Seriously need to close this hospital and revamp with NEW STAFF !! The entire hospital staff is lazy and inadequate to do their Job !!
Checked myself in because I have had sucidal thoughts,I was there for just over 6 hours, didn’t see anyone till 5 hours later.I finally got to talk to a crisis member,I was told there were no beds available and to follow up with my doctor, told me to call if I was still having bad thoughts.I feel that they should of done more.
This hospital is the most nasty place to go too. Don’t go here. This hospital need a new management and a new owner like what the heck. Down right disgusting
Gave my elderly Dad all the wrong medications and none of the ones he was on, they never put the medication list given to them in the ER in his chart. Then they discharge him with the wrong diagnosis, we just found out he had a FRACTURE in his elbow and we were never told.
Horrible treatment they put my under age daughter outside holding on the excuse of covid, Noone to complain about it, no calling back. I give it a -0 awful
This man if any being would be forced to call him, Zachary Sanderson from Nutrition Services in the kitchen is the most disgusting and repulsive abomination that I have ever witnessed during my existence. I am referring to his vulgar and …
Went for mental health crisis. Put me in a room for 6 hours, drugged me, took my clothes, spoke to exasperated social worker then kicked out onto street. I’m not impressed.
My father waited for about 5-6 hours before he could be taken care of. It was pretty dangerous waiting with him for that long time since he had a mental disorder and can be violent. …
Everytime i come here which is only if its something serious my experience is TERRIBLE! The doctors do whatever just to get you out of there and not to truly help you with whatever your there for. No matter what time it is, there is always a wait time of an hour or more. This hospital should be shut down!!
Worst experience I ever had. Waited over 4 hours for them to tell me I might a fracture and splinted me.Took 5 minutes for a professional to tell me they did the worst possible thing by splinting and nothing was wrong. Would give 0 stars if alllowed.
I worked here, and even I DONT GO HERE! i had TIA symptoms , plus an auto accident and they brushed me off, and it cost me my Mustang. there is a reason i quit, and the hint here is it wasnt the pay! i went to the 1101 nott street, and the emurgent care in clifton park, both brushed me off. DO NOT GO HERE, you could die!
Called to get the address for the best parking area and got transferred 3 times and then the woman who finally responded was confused and put me on hold then just gave me the general street address for the hospital. Wow, just wow…..
Very patient. Very knowledgeable. Treated me like a human should be treated. Thank you to all the staff there and best of luck during this difficult time!
Started off with front desk having a conversation about their coworkers ( and not a good one ) then waiting and waiting it’s has been over 3 hours and still haven’t seen anyone . We are currently still waiting
I’m a 15-year-old and I can here and they told me I had constipation and to go home drink warm apple cider and 2 days later I ended up getting a major emergency stomach surgery at Albany med which is way better (this was at the ER btw)
The doctor in the icu who took care of my brother killed him. She put him on a ventilator after we requested that they do not. He died the next day. They let my brother die and no one is held accountable!
The nurses who greet you when you enter are rude and lack empathy. The security and building maintenance are kinder than the nurses. Don’t come here if you have other options
I had to call them every day for 4 days just to get them to send a doctor’s note to my place of work so I could return to work. The staff was rude and dismissive. If I ever need to be hospitalized again I will be going anywhere but here.
Staff was wonderful but clearly overworked to the point that the care I received was useless. Left in worse shape than I went in and paid handsomely for the privileged. I wound up leaving the Ellis system entirely, based on the experience. Avoid if at all possible.
Excellent experience. It’s good to know there is a better than average hospital that is not Albany Med. Albany Med is overwhelmed with student as a teaching hospital. I prefer Ellis whenever possible.
Been here at the ER for 7 hours. Still in the waiting room Many people have already walked out since I got here. This place is terrible Do not come to this hospital !
I dont think Ive meet a more unprofessional staff in my life the will take ur call button then go hide somewhere if u want to be in pain the whole time then go here doctors were on the up and up but for the rest go anywhere else
This hospital is the worst hospital I have ever been too!!! We waited 4 hours in the crisis unit and no one ever came to talk to us!!! They all had attitudes and was bothered for trying to talk to them!!! Staff just sat at the desk talking to each other laughing. Waited for discharged papers for 2 hours!!!!
I don’t even want to give this place one star. Sat in the waiting room for 3 hours got seen and waited another 2hr to be discharged and they couldn’t even do nothing. This hospital is a joke and needs to be shut down. Nurses just sit around …
I see why this place has the ratings it does. I live 5min away from this hospital and it was my first and last time visiting this location. I don’t believe Ive ever even waited sooo long in Albany. 5 hour wait to not be seen. Ridiculous. Take my chances home and pray to live another day. If I could give no stars I would.
We didn’t feel our baby kick for a couple of hours so we got worried and came here. After an hour and 30 mins we weren’t even seen and when we asked what was going on they said other people were more important but I walked around and no one …
The doctors at clifton park Ellis are great, however, the lab and billing department at clifton park Ellis are awful. The lab did a lousy job doing a routine blood test for my son and his left arm had several bruises and purple from several …
4 hrs waiting and counting to be seeing, dirty ER, bathroom, ppl trowing up in bags, and none with mask on. Contaminating and spreading bacteria, germs every where. They shouldn’t close the McClellan ER, if they couldn’t deal with the …
Ellis ER is horrible. My significant other is in severe pain, and we’ve been waiting for 6 hours. Still haven’t gotten past the waiting room. The service is terrible and all they care about is money.
Dr. Montalto and his crew or fantastic. If you are a woman suffering from fibroids or any other gynecological issues, check him out. davinci was the name of the machine, laproscopically done, minimal recovery time… a lot of bad reviews …
I Went to this hospital 5 times to mental health but before I Went there me and my mom we were sent in a room at night they always said there’s a night doctor to call us when ready but it was always a lie there’s only morning doctor so me …
They killed my mother with insulin….she was not even on insulin before entering the hoptital. She had well controlled, type II diabetes but not severely. Her blood sugar went down to almost nothing in the middle of the night with the insulin and they didn’t discover her until the damage was done.
WORST hospital you will EVER go to just dispicable and unprofessional and FILTHY. I waited to be seen for 3 hours in the waiting room with extreme cramps and bleeding at 5 months pregnant and then when I finally went to be seen the doctor …
My boyfriend was sent to Ellis to get an evaluation and he was forced to wait ten hours to see a social worker. They refused to give him his p.m. medication and were rude to him. They wouldn’t communicate at all with him. Terrible facility, DO NOT go here if you want reliable mental health services.
On 3/16/18. I went to Ellis hospital emergency room, waited 4 hours and never was seen by a doctor or nurse. I am sure my insurance Company is happy that they did not have to pay Ellis for services NOT rendered
They are a malpractice suit waiting to happen. Between multiple violations, lack of communication which almost caused a patient to die, and trying to take blood from a male visitor rather than the female patient. The list goes on, and …
Worst ER in the free world. Exepct an 8 hr wait minimum. The staff manning the front desk are rude and are not afraid to let you know they could care less. The only bright spot in the entire place is the helpful and friendly security staff.
THE WORST HOSPITAL I COULD EVER IMAGINE. They don’t do their jobs right. my mom goes in with early signs of ms and they give her a muscle relaxer for the spasms dont order any tests no doctor sees her just a nurse and tech my mom tells them …
DO NOT send your teen to the psych unit. ever. the food and bedding was mediocre, and you couldnt go outside, but the staff was TERRIBLE. most staff members were emotionally abusive and treat the patients like absolute garabge. i still have …
The absolute worst place one could ever end up. My sister hadn’t been allowed a shower with running water for 6 days(menstruating 3 of said days)! They kept cleaning her with the wipes that broke her out into sores from head to toe. if …
what does it take to get people to understand how important it is to call a family member and let them know how their loved one is doing ..i get transferred all dept that are not answering their phones and no call back when i’ve been told …
I had to go to the ER at Ellis 2 times today. I was very pleased by the professionalism, courtesy and concern. My care was excellent and though the ER is never quick anywhere it went much quicker than I thought it would.
Just arrived to the hospital to see my dad. Between yesterday and today they changed the visiting hours from 10am to noon. Now I have to wait in the parking lot to go and see him. A little prior notice or some kind of communication would be much appreciated.
Unnecessarily rude, especially the overnight staff. Some things are better left unsaid especially when your father is dying in a bed. Obviously we know he can’t move himself. Terrible. If it were their family member I’m sure they would …
Arrived to a sea of people in the waiting room, most of them wearing face masks even some children sleeping on the chairs with obvious fever.. The receptionist said it would be a 6+ hour wait.. I don’t know what kind of emergency should …
Very under-reviewed and underappreciated hospital. Have saved thousands of lives in the capital region. Nurses, doctors, and staff are awesome, and helped me tremendously.
My wife and I have been coming to Ellis for more than ten yrs to have her feeding tube cared for and have always had a wonderful experience, wehave never had long waits or been mistreated. We LOVE Ellis Hospital and would go no where else!
First of all, my nurse was fantastic in the ER and communicated with me on the treatment; I’d go so far as to say she was more competent than the inexcusable doctor that administered treatment. Came in with excruciating chronic neck pain …
Don’t go there unless it is absolutely necessary. Albany medical center is a far better equipped hospital with a much better attitude of the doctors. In our case all we could feel was that they were trying to make money and do nothing else, where going to albany med was like magic compared to this place. I don’t recommend Ellis at all.
I was in a bad car accident on 5/12/18 and was brought to Ellis Hospital by ambulance around 5am. I gave staff my parents phone number to contact them and they never did. When I woke up around 11:00 They handed me the phone and said I could …
Every single time I come to this ER I’m waiting over an hour to be seen. I would rather take my chances driving to Albany med in an emergency then waiting to be seen by doctors here. No matter what symptoms you complain of you will wait more then an hour. its crazy!! Worst ER ever. I never have a good experience here.
The wait times are ridiculously long.
If you plan on coming in for a visit, be prepared for a lengthy wait. The only way you will be seen quickly, if your dying!!!
One of the Best Hospital I have been to. Top notch nurse Andriah Emery and Doctor Maura Brondi. Very caring. I come in for my blood pressure and Chest pain. They said we r going to take good care of you and they did. Being from out of town they treated me with respect and caring. Thank you for taking care of me.
Cousin came in for heart Cath. And Stent. Unbelievably Wonderful care. Surgeon Dr Weitz was fabulous. Nursing care in ICU was kind, compassionate and top notch. …
My name is Cindy Sedaker.. my daughter Becky was in your ER Wednesday. I came over from New Hampshire to be with her being she called me screaming in pain.. I got my friend to bring her over to the ER since she refused the ambulance and I …
The only and main thing I’d like to say is, I just heard and seen on the news that Ellis, is merging with St.Peter’s. Smfh😬😒🙄 St. Peter’s is truly taking over like they did with Northeast practices and hospitals. Why are they even allowed …
I used to go to them as my primary care provider when I moved back to the area, and while cannot say that they did anything ‘wrong,’ they are hard to work with. It is very difficult to get a hold of the office for anything including the …
A hospital that accepts a trauma patient with a stated injury should consider not accepting that ambulance admission when they do Not have the surgical staff on call to care for that patient.. I was that patient. I was injured at work, a …
Terrible service. I can be dying & they still wanna take their sweet time!! I been in this hospital for 4 hours & they’re just seeing me & taking my blood. Wouldn’t recommend this place to NO ONE, it needs to be shut down. All of the nurses talk loudly about their business right outside my room, beyond unprofessional.
This place is a disgrace!!! They leave you for dead. My mother has been there for 9 hours with no one to give any pain meds or ANYTHING!!! They left her to the next shift. Pfff Ridiculous and un humane!!!
Emergency room is NOT 24 hours! Arrived at 4am and made to wait until Dr arrived at 9am. Wasn’t told that fact until 7am after my child witnessed things she should not have, would have gone elsewhere.
Waited 5 hours before my fiance was seen; Horrible experience. Currently waiting to be seen myself (different day) & ive been waiting for 4 hours to be seen so far. This hospital is the worst place to go to. I definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone. Next time ill travel if i need medical attention.
Always wanted to write something. To be fair, this is regarding my very long stay at the Big E last year for open heart surgery. Most of the nursing staff on the Cardiac Intensive care are wonderful; some a bit overworked due to short …

The people who work here are extremely rude and dont care about people who are waiting for 3+ hours. They sent 5 people after my mother and when she approached the lady at the front desk, the security man (Indian maybe Chinese whos name i …
With pain in my hurt I have to give 1 star instead of 0. Ellis Hospital sucks I stayed in A6 a couple times I called for help and the nurses and tech literally were answering my bell between 30 minutes and one hour. This hospital is not safe! Go to st Mary’s in Amsterdam, St. Peter’s in Albany or even better albany med.
Don’t go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to give this place a zero star!!!! My mom died there bc they had delayed the treatment. My mom and my whole family didn’t even knew my mom is going to die at the time she past away. The doctor kept …
I would have given this a 0 if i could have, nurses laughing and ignoring patients. Went in because Ellis outpatient insisted if i was upset this would be place to go to get help. It was same Dr that outpatient has!! Problem not fixed,11 …
Okay let’s get this thing started. I went to the ER for vomiting, diarrhea, horrendous abdominal pain and blood in stool. I waited for probably three hours before I was sent to a room to be seen then another hour or so for a doctor. …
Don’t go or send a friend or family member here!
I hate to even give it one star because after my father was in a bad car accident they didn’t notice that his wrist was fractured nor did they do an immediate …
This place is an absolute rat den, the nurses in the psych ward border on hideous by way of their actions and how they talk to the patients. The amount of miscommunication and lack of communication in general was unfathomable.
I spent two days here for Pancreatitis. ER was excellent i came at 6am tho. Admitted to 6th floor. I must say that some staff have no bedside manner. I’m a nurse (20yrs) having 35-40 pt is normal for me, But when you have 1 R.N 1 L.P.N to …

My mother was taken via ambulance on a Sunday morning for chest pains. All appeared fine to the ER staff and they released her without a cardiac evaluation. However her legs were full of fluid and on Monday she was unable to walk. Her …
My daughter when to the emergency room having a panic attack which she wasnt even sure of at the time and the nurses were criticizing and cursing about her condition which I found to be very unprofessional and disappointing. Supervisors should teach the the staff a little more bout courtesy and professionalism when they’re at work.
Horrified that your hospital is so heartless and unprofessional. 1 person visit per day during covid is heartless. My mother was not let in to see my Dad because my sister went in to see my dad first. Don’t bring your loved ones to …
As we sit in the ER waiting room for well over 7 hrs now going into our 8th hour, still not to be seen by a physician, however patients are coming out of the ER but none being called back. This is ridiculous, when asking the nurse how much …

ELLIS HOSPITAL IS THE WORST! They have beyond neglectful staff. The doctors and nurses barely check on their patients. They should be a shamed of how they run that place. And don’t even get me started on the ER. One star is me being generous.
Worst hospital you could possibly go to. My Iv halfway fell out of my arm while I was sleeping so I called for the nurses. They continued to ignore me and by the time they came in the iv had dripped everywhere onto the floor. …
There for surgery and several days after. I was treated well during my stay. The room was clean. Housekeeping asked for permission to come in and clean before they did it. Everyone on the staff was polite and friendly. I felt like I was well cared for.
Fastest I’ve ever been in and out of an ER. They “fast-tracked” my daughter because we were afraid she broke her arm. She got an x-ray, thankfully it was not broken, and we were out in under an hour! We are from AZ and a trip to the ER takes a minimum of 3 hours.
I went to the hospital for severe back pain along with other symptoms and was diagnosed and given a prescription. A few days later the pain again became unbearable so I returned to the doctors. I waited for over an hour, and was still not …

My 5 year old son Steven had an accident at school and had to be transferred via ambulance to Ellis Hospital. The Doctor was great, very informative and took the situation seriously. The he RN’s that dealt with us as well as the CT scan …
My father’s final days were spent in this spectacular facility. All staff were attentive to not only the patients needs, but to our family’s needs. If there could be 6 stars, I would rate it a 6. Thank you for treating everyone with dignity.
My wife got transferred here from St. Mary’s only because St. Mary’s doesn’t have a cardiac cath. ward. The doctor was pleasant but I didn’t like the day shift nurse assigned to her. She was unemotional, drone-like. She didn’t smile or say …
I was on a business trip in NY and I had to go to the Ellis ER at 2am one morning because of ongoing pain and cramping in my left leg. The cramps were bad and I only got a few minutes respite between each one – they made me cry and whimper. …

This is the worst hospital to go to,my family went there and was treated horribly. The staff was just as bad.All the staff does is ignore the patient and chit chat amongst themselves. This hospital should be shut down.
Had liver surgery. Nurses were horrible. I had a nurses aide that was better than the nurses!! She was the only kind person there. I was treated so bad I couldn’t wait to get out!!!
This medical facility is standard as it comes. You will be faced with average waits when compared to regional facilities. From experience with staff, they tend to be balanced, hard working, and under appreciated at times. Based off the area they service, they are adequate to handle the common needs for community.
This place is disgraceful. I took my boyfriend here for a cut on his hand from a broken glass and they admitted him to the psych ward and held him against his will because of the way he reacted as a result of his shock. The nurses …
In 2016, my then 90-year old father was hospitalized at Ellis for a severe illness, eventually diagnosed as anaplasmosis (a tic-borne illness). He nearly died. While some of the staff were convinced he would soon die due to his age and we …

People need to realize that patients are prioritized by issue. All the negative reviews appear to be from people that weren’t in a life/death situation. They are (like every other hospital) handcuffed by the realities of balancing staffing …
The worst hospital I have been to. My newborn and I waited 55 min in line with only 3 patients in front of us. It does not take 4 people to register a patient. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND new staff and new management. This is ridiculous! An ER is meant for emergencies not for staff to be lingering around on their phones!
My fiancée and I waited in the lobby for over 4 hours whilst she was having pains consisting of a heart attack. Couldn’t breath. We came in as emergency patients and weren’t seen at all. After 4 hours we left and went to Albany med where …

I wish I could give it a 0 rating. The ER is horrible. The times we have been there in the past 2 years very few of the nurses actually work and are nice. 6 months ago my brother waited 8 hours to actually see a doctor they were not busy. …
Absolutely horrible, I went in to get tested for Covid because I felt like I had symptoms and the Doctor there felt like he was almost belittling me with how I felt going off of what he sees and not my word to mouth. I was given the test …

Ellis is a good hospital. Here’s what I say to the 1 star raters complaining… if you go to the ER *you are going to have to wait*. Unless it is a life threatening emergency, be prepared to wait an hour or more. Ellis serves the entire …
This hospital is an actual danger to anyone who is admitted. There is no interdepartmental communication, there is a tendency to push people out and back home when they’re actually in dire need of close monitoring. The worst attribute by …
Have been waiting for 3 hours to be seen at emergency room with toddler who needs stitches. Others have been waiting for 5, 6, 8 hours. Several people have left without treatment. A 90-year old woman finally left with her family because …
One of the worst hospitals around. I live in Niskayuna so it’s the closest hospital. I have been myself and w my kids over 40x in the past few years..Extremely rude intake staff in the ER, always turnover in that staffing too. HIPPA …
Was told to get my dad at 2:30 pm for discharge. At 220 pm my dad calls and stated that the discharge nurse was running late. had just spoken to her at 130 pm and everything was ok. Great service since I live 45vminutes away.
Please listen to the few stars ratings !! I did not because the location is convenient. Take the time to find another doctor office!! One of the doctors, Ineza Sarkisova, saw my husband and ordered bloodwork that was unnecessary for a man …
Inpatient stay, not ER related. On day shift meant waiting 1hr or more for my call bell to be answered. The morning after abdominal surgery I waited 2 hrs for someone to come give me pain medication. I was stuck in bed (abdominal surgery) , …
I was not happy with my experience at all. One of the days I was there the nurse came in to see me once in her whole 12 hour shift. Then when the doctor told me I could be discharged it took them yet again about 12 hours to do so. When we …
I would not even give it one star but in order to leave a review you have to! Worst hospital ever! Was sent by urgent care by ambulance for an obstruction and still waited 5, yup I said it 5 hrs and had yet to be seen; hadn’t even left …
The communication to parents about their children is the worse possible. The staff is very rude. The cleanliness on the unit was horrible. It takes them forever to call you back and they don’t listen when you tell them what phone number to call.
I’ll say this this hospital did not do much to help my father to keep him alive yet the staff is very rude they hang up the phone upon waiting to be transferred to room or er what a shame
I am blown away that ellismedicine.org is NOT a secure website! This is a remarkable dereliction of duty in protecting their patients’ information in the era of identity theft.
I have been waiting in this waiting room for a crippling amount of time waiting to be seen while my body cannot regulate is temperature and I have all I can do to sit up on my own. I would like to know where they draw that line for actual …
My daughter was having lots of pain in her right hip so we went first to an urgent care, and we went in immediately. Then we went to an Emergent care, where we had to wait for hours. She was in much pain, and sitting in an uncomfortable …
Ellis Hospital Psyc Nurse Practioner Edick failed my father. After his first suicide attempt we were hoping she would set up inpatient with him as he was very depressed/ severe anxiety. Well she discharged him and set him up in outpatient …
This is a horrible place to go for an Emergency even though they are a Emergency Hospital. You will sit in the waiting room for hours…. not even exaggerating. People will get sent to fast track for minor things while you and others sit …
They took all the lab tests and no treatment at all on both of our visits. Luckily we went to Saratoga Hospital in the same day, they diagnosed, and treated well. Thank god we are so happy we went to Saratoga Hospital.
Being a nurse myself I was not looking forward to taking my daughter to ER at 9 o’clock at night . She had massive tonsillitis and couldn’t even swallow.
They were professional and proficient . Sherry was her nurse and I can not say enough good. The PA was knowledgeable and we were out after IV meds in 2 hour . Great experience.
This is the most inhumane hospital I’ve ever encountered that I just had to write a review and i never write reviews. My mom was rushed in the ambulance and admitted into the hospital. She doesn’t speak english and of course we can’t even …
If I could give a 0 I would. Been here sense 220pm and haven’t talked to a doctor and it’s been 5 hours. Went to the nurse station twice and was told they are dealing with more critical people and they will get to me soon. And nothing still.
If you suspect you are having a stroke, please don’t got to Ellis Hospital Emergency room. The doctors on staff should know that a stroke cannot be diagnosed via a CT scan alone !! Plus, I never saw a staff neurologist. They diagnosed a …
I arrived at Ellis hospital at 8:30 pm.I didn’t get my name called until 11:30pm.I finally get my xray 11:45pm.It is now 12:43p.m. no word on anything and they sat me back in the waiting room because every room was full of people that have …
Doctors are so inexperienced it’s sad. If you are hurt and need medical attention, you are better off going to Saint Peters Hospital. The doctors in ER truly have no clue what is going on at Ellis, you are better off Googling your symptoms.
My mother has been in there for 4 days. The hospital has done nothing to find a cause and cure her. They just pump her with pain meds. Nurses are fine, but they have no intelligent or capable doctor on the premises. They rather hold people …
Most of the nursing staff are wonderful and very helpful. but there were a few problems that should be addressed. first off, they sent my very sick mom home when she was not ready, only because a winter storm was coming and they thought …
This hospital is beyond awful. Was in waiting room for over 6 hours and the blonde woman at the desk had a disgusting attitude withholding information excusing it was due to them being busy. Very unprofessional someone got diagnosed with COVID in the waiting room not even 5 feet away from me.
DO NOT SEEK CARE HERE!!
I strongly do not recommend seeking care from Ellis Medicine. The documentation in my medical record from one visit there is full of assumptions, inaccuracies, …
Went in for ring removal. The waiting room was packed but they were able to get us in an out all in less than 15 minutes. Staff were helpful and friendly. Thank you.
These people should be ashamed of how they act. They lack any compassion, urgency, willingness to help, and regard for human decenty. Aside from the ridiculous wait time, which is semi-understandable since it is a hospital, there is so much …
I have now been here twice- once for myself and once for my toddler. I was admitted for a week and have nothing but nice things to say about all my nurses and techs. The PAs that treated my son were so great with him and very caring. We …
Worst hospital ever my mom was at ellis 7am until 7pm and wasn’t seen. She was there for 12 hrs .The did an ultrasound and put her to sit outside. 4 30 when I leave my job and went over she was sitting in the wheelchair .At 7pm I took her to …
Only reason it’s one star is because it’s the lowest I could select. Today worst experience ever. Loved one scheduled for surgery and 80+ year old wife was blocked from going to the waiting room by Ellis Security even with loved one in …
I am very frustrated and angry on the service that was given to my grandfather with a bowl obstruction and was screaming in bloody pain fainting and he couldn’t have anyone with him. The security guard was rude to my aunt and to her she has …
Ellis hospital have earned their poor reputation in this area as we found out. Their inability to communicate at any level left my wife, who is in hopsice care, in the middle of their incompetence. Ellis refused to respond to me, our …
They Just don’t listen to the patient , I feel if they listen more to the patients they will have a better outcome, I’m not saying all don’t listen yet most don’t, need to have better bedside manners to be there, Just listen cause only the patient knows how they feel.
Was somewhat helpful in helping me get to safe living situations and helping me take care of things that they found that other hospitals should have found but didnt try to find them. Some of the staff are rude but others are very nice. The neurology team is not helpful there. And when i was discharged the icu marked me as deceased.
I live very far out of state and I tried calling to get a good update on my father who is in the ICU there after emergency surgery this morning and everyone has been very short and honestly kind of rude. Definitely not afraid to let you …
They are as slow as it gets. I never seen a nurse or doctor move with any urgency. I would recommend that they learn to to provide proper patient care. No reason so many people should have to pay for poor treatment. Only place to go in Schenectady in an emergency. It is truly sad.
I was removed from my dying grandmother’s bed side by security. My grandmother passed away that day and I was not there with her. They realized their mistake and allowed me back into the hospital but it was to late the damage had been done.
On March 27, 2021,I was taken from Nathan Littauer Hospital by ambulance to Ellis, I was having a heart attack. The entire staff, cleaning crew, CNAs, Nurses, Administrators, Doctors, Surgeons and any I may have missed were TOP-NOTCH. They kept me comfortable, informed, and most of all, saved my life.
Waited 4 hours to be helped before I left. None of the staff was accommodating or helpful with my pain. Has to physically move myself through my pain for X-rays and to be given Tylenol. I’d rather go to St Peters. Avoid this place.
I had an awful experience with Danielle Kowalski, the clinical supervisor for inpatient psychiatry at Ellis Hospital. I expressed my urgent concerns for the discharge plans of somebody I am very close with, she was left with no Psychiatrist …
Ellis Hospital is reminiscent of the same level of care I received at NY Presbyterian. Attractive, orderly, impeccably sanitary, and a welcoming staff. Nurse Suzanne White has been my Angel for the passed few months. She is the ideal …
I went to Ellis for the first time today because of extreme abdominal pain and an abnormality found on an ultrasound sound. Needless to say this is the first and last time I’ll be going. They staff was extremely rude when asking if I can …

I was in the ER .Horrible experience especially the RN’s, lack professionalism ,was there for 12 hrs without seeing a Dr. tried to ask a RN a question about getting something to eat and she over power my voice and said we only have water. …
The folks in welcome center were so nice and very helpful. Smiling and sharing stories. The nurses in pre-op were aggressive and ” know it all” even when I said I had been through 32 surgeries and know my body. They laughed and poked me 3 …
Ellis Hospital in Schenectady truly is just AWFUL. We arrived at 230am and were put into an ER room after 35 min. 3 HOURS LATER i went to find a nurse, NO ONE knew my brother was in our room. The nurse station across from us was empty, the …
I like being at this hospital, If something happens to me, e.g., like going to a seizure, I have a history of seizures. The doctors and nurses in the emergency department take care of me. I come here by [Mohawk] Ambulance, and they also …
Having to endure 8 hours sitting in a waiting room and seeing the poor souls who have waited 10 hours.. was for me hell on earth. The most I’ll run hospital ever.. worst part is.. they care not.

I took my dad emergency in high blood pressure and left arm pain. The staff was rude and looking tired. No body was taking care as emergency services should available.
8 hour wait time and counting. Nurses and reception too busy figuring out what they want for lunch to help anyone. Security and nurses not wearing masks.
I had surgery yesterday and I’m currently on the 3rd floor waiting almost two hours for my IV to be taken out and to have someone just hand me my discharge papers that they’ve had for hours! Every single time since yesterday that I’ve hit …
I know this place sucks but I came to gett an X-ray I waited so long but I know that’s not the doctors faults. They really need to recognize some of there doctors work and start giving them help. I was treated by a doctor named Erica and …

I just spent 3 weeks in this hospital starting in the ER and finishing in the Cardiac ICU. The entire staff I dealt with were caring and attentive. A-4 was a great unit. The ICU was just about perfect.
Deplorable hospital. They don’t have staff to take care of emergency room patients. Sat there for 5 hours. They have zero organization or professionalism. I had to call 911 because a patient was out of control in the ER and they did nothing …

I do not see exceptional care at this hospital. Unless I am having elective surgery or it is a life and death situation this hospital would not be my choice.

Its like a huge meat factory, nurse at check was downright rude to me. Im sitting in er waiting room with a o2 level of 89 for 3 hrs and still not seen
I hate hospitals, but who doesn’t. At least the parking was free, and it wasn’t too depressing inside. Although I was just visiting someone.

Have waited in the ER for 7 hours before being seen. After seeing the doctor for a minute, waited another several hours for xray to come. Worst service ever. I’m sure everyone is working hard however their system is not.
they are very rude at this hospital. the workers at the front desk are rude to the sick patients. they are very unprofessional!
Staff is consistently rude, like they’re doing you a favor. Albany med or st. Peters is were you want to go.
Loved my doctor but show left to now I have a doctor I barely see but its cool overall
Don’t go there if you have a child!! I was there with a 2 year old that hit his head I waited 3 hours! I left and went to Albany med .. they took him in in less then 30 min!! They only had 2 pa’s no doctor!!! It was a terrible experience.

This Hospital needs -0 Stars !! Worse hospital probably in the whole NEW YORK STATE ! Seriously need to close this hospital and revamp with NEW STAFF !! The entire hospital staff is lazy and inadequate to do their Job !!

Worst experience I’ve ever had in a hospital. If I could give negative stars I would!
THE WORST HOSPITAL I COULD EVER IMAGINE. They don’t do their jobs right. my mom goes in with early signs of ms and they give her a muscle relaxer for the spasms dont order any tests no doctor sees her just a nurse and tech my mom tells them …

This is by far the worst hospital ever if your dying jus die cause coming here they will put you in the waiting room even if you call the ambulance
Always wanted to write something. To be fair, this is regarding my very long stay at the Big E last year for open heart surgery. Most of the nursing staff on the Cardiac Intensive care are wonderful; some a bit overworked due to short …
This hospital is horrible. I took my daughter here for her asthma because im here in Schenectady for thanksgiving weekend. So two doctors says she not wheazing , but another doctor comes in checks her and says she is and he proceeds to look …

Had mammogram performed at McClellan St. Tech informed me that if normal, I’d receive a letter in a week or 2. 3 weeks later, no letter. Took me 6 phone calls to get any info. Finally was told by radiology that report was negative. They …
It’s very difficult to believe some of these posts regarding poor service at Ellis Hospital. I am one of the MOST CRITICAL people on earth regarding poor service and I can assure anyone that I received nothing but OUTSTANDING CARE by the …
Possitively don’t bring your Loved ones here they’ll kill them out, everything including the Treatment these ppl do not Care, you might as well go Home with your Issue then Never look back they are worthless. …
The people who work here are extremely rude and dont care about people who are waiting for 3+ hours. They sent 5 people after my mother and when she approached the lady at the front desk, the security man (Indian maybe Chinese whos name i …
Go anywhere else but here. You will be know better 12 hours after first getting here. Still haven’t seen a doctor
I’m a nurse (20yrs) having 35-40 pt is normal for me, But when you have 1 R.N 1 L.P.N to …
Absolutely the worst ER that you could possibly imagine. My daughter was sent there from her school because she was ill and her heart rate was very high. The doctor came in and learned that she was ill and had been experiencing a high …
This is the most unprofessional place. My father in law was sick and they kept him for hours and then they say they can’t do more. This hospital needs closing. Ridiculous place. They are there to help not kill u.
My grandmother (5ft5 ,110 pounds), was not informed of the one visitor per day rule until after my mother had come down from the patients room. My grandma had brought personal hygiene supplies for my grandpa and was told she nor my mother …
Worst experience ever. The nurses are rude,
insensitive and have no care to help in a timely manner. They rather chat and laugh at the desk. I work in the Healthcare industry and have never seen anything …
Would rather die on my way to another hospital 🙃. Urgent care sent me to the ER room, I was experiencing chest pain, arm pain, left leg pain and jaw pain. Waited for over an hour- was never seen. The front desk also had the wrong …
The worst waiting room’s staff. Adam (security) and Eileen are grumpy and rude people. They are all disgusting.
This is ridiculous, when asking the nurse how much …
I was in the ER on Thursday Sep. 28th. The service I received was great. Dr.Clara Somoza and the other nurses involved were absolutely great. They all made my visit very easy and explained to me every step they are going to do. My visit …
Had a family member enter the ER at 1pm, he was not seen by even a nurse until 9pm after our family called to complain. he then stayed in the ER until 4 before finally being admitted. …
I had out patient surgery on my eye. They registered me quickly and I was in and out in no time. My only problem was with the billing department. I paid my bill, I got a bill in the mail and I tried calling the billing department to …

Just wanted to say how grateful I’m of Mary !( from the Lymphedema clinic on Nott St.Schenectday)
she has been my therapist for few weeks now. She has been very caring and …
ELLIS HOSPITAL IS THE WORST!
I waited for over an hour, and was still not …
I was on the verge of committing suicide, i admited myself to their mental health facility and recieved nothing but lies. They held me there and told me i would see someone in the morning about getting on meds, that never happend. Then …
Never ever go to this hospital in emergency.Believe me you will be into more pain than you are.My wife got admitted , she waited for 4 hours in emergency care for the doctor to come and do the initial inspection. …
Asked multiple people if they could check if my insurance would cover an X-ray at Ellis Hospital prior to the service, and each person I asked looked at my insurance and said “I don’t know” which was the first red flag. I worked for Ellis …
I have had poor service with Ellis er twice. I’m suffering from chest pain, abdominal pain and food poisoning and they have refused to help me. My PCP is no better. This hospital is the worst. They help who they want to help, they are very …
The worse hospital in the capital region. Do not go here and I mean do not. Go in waited 3 to 4 hrs before I decided to leave. The nurses are nasty and rude the doctor seems like they only have one, rushes you and could care less of hearing …
One of the worst experinces. No one knows what is going on with the patient. One person does one thing another does something the opposite. There is no organization. It’s just a bunch of people hired off the street and a real nurse out …
Really a Zero stars rating, but I can’t do less than one.
Not good at all. Accompanied a friend who was told by her doctor (on staff at Ellis) to go to the ER because they diagnosed her with C-diff. Told at check in …
This is the worst hospital to go to,my family went there and was treated horribly.
While some of the staff were convinced he would soon die due to his age and we …
I avoid this hospital at all costs and go to AMC despite the long distance instead. Ellis misdiagnosed me with gastritis while I had a bleeding ulcer, misread reports and dismissed symptoms. I laid in a room for 5 hours and never even saw …
To ER at 1pm and assigned a room at Midnight is my only complaint.
WaCardiac care unit for 3 days and the stay, albeit frightful, was really …
Thinking of leaving Ellis and finding a new primary doctor elsewhere
If I could give a zero score I would, absolutely useless facility, ZERO communication between departments AND to patients. They tell you one thing over the phone and then something else happens. Or they tell you to go in for a follow up …
You can do better than this it looks like a storage room
Absolutely horrible! Very unprofessional! Was there for 6 hours in the emergency dept. Came in with severe chest pains, had a really bad cough and no voice to top it off. I was told they base you on a scale. Security is a joke. There was a …
Went to ER with sever stomach pain. The staff was very responsive. The physician was professional and attentive. Treatment was excellent and compassionate. I was moved to a holding area once the decision to admit me was made. The staff …
I will never go the Ellis ER again. Older woman at the check-in desk was extremely rude and mean to not only myself but to my fiance, the elderly couple in front of us in line and ANOTHER patient waiting to be seen. Nothing like being …
OMG!!! This place is a nightmare.I went in because my son has had a fever for 5 days with a visit prior to Albany Med which was just as bad. My son’s fever was 101.when we got there and he had tylenol prior to getting there. Nobody was in …
People need to realize that patients are prioritized by issue.
After 4 hours we left and went to Albany med where …
DO NOT EVER EVER EVER GO TO ELLIS EMERGENCY ROOM! My husband was seen on May 22nd, 2019 he is severely sick. The doctors and nurses NEVER checked his blood pressure and never ordered blood work and now my husband is worse, I ended up taking …
I would avoid this hosptial if you care about your health. Read the reviews avoid this hospital go to St Peters Albany Med but if you have a emergency I would not go here!
Would give 0 stars if I could. Actually just went to ER for the third time in the past 2 years. I guess I have to play in traffic at least 3 times to learn my lesson. I wasn’t pleased with my level of care the 1st time, the 2nd time and …
Your better off going to a veterinarian for help then this place.
If you want to live and you really have an emergency that requires quick thinking, highly skilled medical professions do NOT go here…you will die! I brought my loved one here and she died 2 days later! Do NOT go here under any …
I wish I could give it a 0 rating.
My recent stay in the mental health center at Ellis Hospital was single handedly the worst experience of my entire life. I waited over 12 hours in the ER in a room with a woman who was screaming at me, so I sat in the waiting room most of …
Ellis is a good hospital.
They don’t Care about getting you out of here they just rather see you outside in the cold
Worst hospital ever. My friends and I waited 6 hours and they never helped us.
If you suspect you are having a stroke, please don’t got to Ellis Hospital Emergency room. The doctors on staff should know that a stroke cannot be diagnosed via a CT scan alone !! Plus, I never saw a staff neurologist. They diagnosed a …
Worst experience ever they think more of them selfs then there patients
DO NOT GO TO ELLIS HOSPITAL!!!
I fell off a ladder on January 10, 2021. Mohawk Ambulance Brought me to Ellis …

Some very nice nurses but a lot just ignore you, the security guard Robert is the rudest person I’ve ever met he just straight up blows
Every time you think your expectations for hospital care hit rock bottom, somehow you can always find a hospital to lower them even more! …

If I could give them negative stars I would. This place is horrible. Staff does not care about the patients, they are rude as hell for no reason. They have people sitting in. Hotass waiting room while you have an iv drip in your arm. Jut horrible
This hospital is a literal joke! I’d rather die on the streets than to get treated here. If google gave me an option, I’d put -5 stars.
Never go here, I’ve been waiting in the waiting room for 7 almost 8 hours and all they’ve done take blood from my arm, and leave a catheter in for 2 hours before they gave me an IV, also i don’t know why but they’ve been giving almost …

Having to endure 8 hours sitting in a waiting room and seeing the poor souls who have waited 10 hours.. was for me hell on earth. The most I’ll run hospital ever.. worst part is.. they care not.

Due to VERY mixed experiences, I am editing my original 5 star review and averaging based on each significant experience. …
