Why don’t you have a phone line to call for outages only. Would like to be able to report them outage and hear if it has been reported.
They have always worked hard for me. Excellent service. Very friendly. worked very close with a new build, solar panels, rebates. Great group.
I wish I could put less then one star, by far worst utility I have ever dealt with. Unprofessional and over priced. If it wasn’t for monopolies, they would be out of business. Your better off going solar!
The worst electric company in the history of electric companies. They’ve refused a paymentvand then shut off my power. It’s always something.
All they care about is making money. They (the company, not necessarily the employees) are unhelpful and don’t care if the mistake made was their own. They will still punish you for it. I, like so many others, wish there was another option for electricity around here. I hate having to give them my money. Jerks.
Friendly folks, but the rates are steep and our payments have been fumbled several different times by direct billing. For a company that has monopolized San Juan county, they are doing a poor job.
Once again, I received no bill… and they call me at 3:30pm to pay. I was at work and tried to call at 4:10. The computer use to pay my bill was at home and I worked till 5pm. I woke up to the meter man trying to disconnect my electricity. I tried to call this morning at 10:30, but could not get through to anyone once again…
I think they try, but they fall short. Their customer service reps try to help and they are nice, but they are limited in their knowledge of their payment system and don’t take full responsibility when it fails.
I run a business on the 491. The power went out around 540 on 4/24. This is trapping people behind an electric gate. I can’t express how angry it makes me that there is no one to contact about this. No one or machine answers the emergency outage line.
I have worked with Empire Electric for years. These include commercial and residential projects. They have worked hard for me and provided great service. Their rates are fair and all they really expect is prompt payment. Thanks everyone!

Very very expensive. Emergency line apparently isn’t available out of regular hours. I didn’t do anything unusual other than run a fan all day, it’s strong but my bill doubled to $170 somehow. Keep in mind that I live in a 1 bedroom …

This past Monday afternoon, up the Dolores River, a large tree fell across our neighborhood road, snapping two power lines and destroying a pole. Empire workers arrived quickly and had the road open and electricity available within 3 to 4 hours. Great work!
