This hospital is legit the most retarded thing ever I went here 4 months ago and it was a retarded experience the only thing that kept me sane was the fact the food didn’t taste like cardboard.
I’ve been calling for someone that’s their and they keep lying and telling me stuff that’s not true there’s so much abuse there it’s not just not becoming please don’t send any of your friends or family members there
It is taking almost four hours for my son to be admitted ..we keep getting told only five more minutes , which is a lie …this place is so disorganized ..at 9 at night they should not be doing a physical to a 9 year old
If I could give it a lower rating I would, My best friend went there, and they told them that they couldn’t do anything else for them. DO NOT GO THERE IT IS NOT A SAFE ENVIRONMENT!

Do not send your child there. They are not providing the help they need and not only that, your child will not come out with any clothing. Somebody is stealing all the items from the facility.

I went twice and I’ll admit adolescent unit (13-17) wasn’t that great and it was very frustrating being there but the adult unit is much better and it really helped me
I was there 3 times. From age 12-13
The place is amazing. Of course not at the time. You can’t see past your own issues to see how much help you’re getting.
This place is the best hospital for adults. I always heard people say that it’s different for the children here but this hospital helped me so much. They taught me so much I needed to learn about myself.
I loved four winds it’s like a little vacation and the food was excellent and I loved the ghetto girls from the Bronx that I got the opportunity to link with. Thank you guys also for the treatment staff was dope it was like hanging with the homies.
The place wasn’t that good. All they did was make us do lame activities which barely helped us. And the never even bothered to help us with our problems. Not to mention that some of kids there are really mean and aggressive

The guy doing the intake interview laughed/snickered at me over the phone so I decided not to go , so now i am just sitting here wanting to kill myself hahahaha
Very unprofessional! I would never refer anyone to this place. Actually looking into filling a formal complaint. This is why it’s so important to read the reviews! Please don’t refer or send loved ones to such place.
They did nothing to help me. All they wanted to do is give me pills and they would get mad when I refuse them. They put you in groups and they’ll talk about nothing. It has been the worst experience I’ve ever lived. DON’T COME HERE PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!!!!!!
I personally had a ok experience but it really didn’t help that much.It was fun though. And some people are nice and you could really make friends there if you wanted to.
im 11 years old i went here about a month ago and i received lots of help i was put in the unit called gaithouse i loved it felt so comfortable the kids in my unit were so nice and very helpful the staff were so nice i loved the staff …

i went there 2 times and honestly loved it. i admitted myself there the second time because i didnt wanna go anywhere else. present day, i feel a lot better. thank you to all the staff at Lodge for caring and helping me.
Worst place to ever send anyone if anything it made me feel worse. The first day I got there I was hysterically crying for 2 hours until someone came in to give me medication for being “disruptive” there were a couple good staff there but …
No proper treatment to transition a youth. In addition do not admit a client and then 3hrs before they get there, deny them. Thanks to you all, as a counselor I was injured by a at risk youth because of your ridiculous operation
I spent a month in north gate at this hospital and all I can say is that if you yourself or your child have the option to go here don’t. Being there opened my eyes solely for the reason that i need to take care of myself so I don’t end up in a terrible place such as Four Winds Katona.
I went there for two weeks and they would not let me go at the request of my mom. The staff turned a blind eye to a child who repeatedly threw objects at me and attempted to hurt me. When I finally got on “sepcon” with this kid the staff didn’t even know and let him harrass me when I was on my visits!
I stayed here for 11 days and there service.
Was good so far, they have activities and art stuff I heard a few rumors her and there but besides that it was good
My previous review was deleted. It is a terrible service to your child to send them here. It is not a good environment and was simply unhelpful. I was told my child would see a psychologist and they never did. The problem was not resolved and was exacerbated. there is no oversight.
This place sucks and doesn’t help at all. It made me feel worse and made me feel like I shouldn’t even be around anymore, most of the staffs are a**holes and they put you on medication that makes you sick. If your kid is going through something I suggest you find a better place to send your kid.
I’m a former patient. I was abused, neglected, and insulted by the staff the entire time. I wanted to die worse than before I was hospitalized. Do not. DO NOT. send your child here. Unless you want them to die. In which case, you’re the one who should be in a psych ward.
Didn’t feel comfortable. Couldn’t sleep at night cause people stayed up all night. talking and gossiping. they say everyone always say they love it there but im shocked to see the stars as well. I would put 1 star but I liked the food.
Absolutely horrible. All they did in the span of 10 days is 2 visits with a doctor, little to no one on one time with any social worker, multiple different medications, and the strangest rules, in which each staff member had their own version of. Super unprofessional, wouldn’t recommend.
Awful place where my son is being held hostage… Follow the money; I suppose the military’s money is too good to let go; so the young men and women stay indefinitely with absolutely NO communication with the parents. This place should …
I gave them a 1 star because the staff there were mean the staff punched me and my parents said no won gunna hurt me that was wrong. and Makayla the staff was mean she was at gatehouse but more at cliffside and I was at cliffside!!!!
It’s a one size fits all type of program that basically seemed more like a juvenile detention center than hospital(for kids anyway). While some of the staff are kind, there are a many that are immature and kind of mean. They bark orders and …
I loved it. I had lots of fun and lots of help the kids were so crazy but also so fun. I loved the staff they were so nice especially Peter S, Ezekiel nadya and so much more I loved my stay there a lot I wish I could go back to see my crazy friends
The level of respect I got here was inane. The problem with mainstream mental health treatment is that if someone says someone is following them, people will treat you like you are delusional and in need of medication. They don’t listen to …
My husband was in there about 10 years ago and seemed to finally have found a counselor there who he could connect with, after many years of a dual diagnosis. He was very enthusiastic and hopeful about his treatment there. He always told me …
It was the most traumatic experience of my life. I’m only coming to terms with the PTSD their “treatment” gave me 15 years later! Their “treatment” is a 2 pronged approach. Load up on meds until your mouth hangs open and you drool and …
They don’t give you the patient unit phone number. They refuse to let you speak to the patient on the phone until you complain. Even if your listed at the emergency contact. They have very poor medication management and absolutely no idea …

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was in four winds hospital for two weeks in the year of 2005. I’m now 28 year’s old. I was there due to control my anger and having problems expressing myself. This place should be shut down by …

Highly unprofessional atmosphere. Patients are constantly checked for being noncomplaint, while the staff gets away with total chaos. Please do not send your loved ones there. You will hardly ever get the chance to speak to staff …
Was sent here as a child. By far the most traumatic experience of my life, and I came out with a permanent fear of the mental health system and anyone associated with it. …

I don’t know how this place is still operating. They don’t offer help, they offer pills as ” help” so they can keep you longer to keep getting money from your insurance. Someone close to me voluntarily went there and they are holding him …
I was there from November 2014 to December 17 2014. Honestly with all the bad reviews below I think they may be speaking on a separate section I was in deer field and the staff were amazing. Within a week I was being evaluated and having …

My Son went years ago when he was 7yrs old & the best thing that came out of it was that he was finally diagnosed on record with having Asperger’s but the actual time he spent there did not benefit him. He was only there 2 weeks & when we …
This is an horrible place. Food was horrible, I had a mental breakdown because of one of the staff and they didn’t do anything about it. One of the patients had to help me, while the staff were supposed to help you. They lose so much of …
This place changed my life for the better. I was in the adult residential program. We had group therapy session, daily one-on-one sessions to keep the team treating you up to date on how you are feeling, and meds adjusted accordingly. I do …
Great place so far. Thanks so much social worker Vanessa and staff for helping my family member going back into baseline. Clean, nice and healthy environment. I recommend. They do five a lot of medications. But the residents can go outside and wear their regular clothes.
Awful place!!!!!! I still have nightmares of this place! They treat you horribly and they heavily medicate you to the point that you can’t function! They made me into a zombie when I was a kid! Drooling on myself, shaking, constant stomach …
This place is horrible and should be shut down!! I was only 16 when I went here and they treated me and the other kids there like we were worthless. I was on the Northgate unit. They would put me in the quiet room for no reason at all and …
This hospital is terrible. I received no treatment and I didn’t feel any better. And most of the people there were rude, obnoxious, mean and just plain awful. And they’ll lock you up in this terrible room called that “quiet room” for the …
I’ll keep it short and simple. If you love your children, don’t send them here. I spent my fourteenth birthday here two years ago. I was prescribed 1200mg of lithium. I had to suffer through chronic lithium toxicity, which included …
Very unprofessional!!! services are not offered on the weekends. Not even group therapy is offered on the weekends. Services for patients on weekends should be in place before or after visiting hours just like they are on a regular …
As a parent I can say this is the absolute worst place to take your child. My child went in with one issue and came out with dozens more. The doctors over medicate the children and rush them to get to “therapeutic levels” which only cause …
At most points I would compare this place to a prison. Codes every second, worsening most peoples already existing anxiety. The staff is terrible, taking multiple days to even get in touch with your therapist who’d you often see roaming the …
not really understanding why this place has got so many bad reviews? i was 16 when i was first admitted here. yes, the first few days were nerve racking and of course i wanted to go home but that’s just all part of my anxiety. the staff …
I stayed there for seventeen days and it was… an experience. I give it three-stars because it did actually help me, but there were many flaws (some of them I chose to ignore at the time but I recognize them more now). I believe the main …

I would agree with the Ryan persons review staff always seem bored and Lazy and tired I’ve been here 3 times throughout my preteen to teenage years. I NEVER saw a therapist each time I went just one time. Some staff can be overly mean and …
Dr. Melissa Bonasera deserves 0 stars. Warning: Do NOT allow this woman to treat your child!! She is only opinionated and is a compulsive liar. Her lying and opinions results in patients not receiving the proper care. Cracker Jack box …
It was overall nice. I gave it a 3 though because it was a little dirty. There were ants everywhere and the bathrooms smelled horrible. Staff was very nice. A thing that really scared me though was while I was there someone bit another …

As a parent, received continuous updates from the staff and the psychiatrist. When my child was upset, a staff member would call his family so he could talk to them and be comforted. He stayed for a week and the psychiatrist was able to stabilize him and change his medication.
It is a very unsafe place. I have my son hospitalized and I went to leave him more clothes. I saw a girl, 3 1/4 miles from the hospital, walking alone, only with her pajamas, a sheet, and a pair of stockings on. That broke my heart. With …

My child did not go here, however the attempt at getting him admitted to recieve help was a nightmare of a process. If the actually stay is anything like the process and people at the admissions stage THEN THIS Place is horrible. I would …
Worst hospital ever. The staff are horrible and inconsiderate. On top of everything they also seem to “lose” things. How do you so called lose airpods, clothing and body products for multiple people. If I could give this place no stars I would!!!!!!!! They should NOT be having patients in there.
Went to Southgate for a suicide attempt. Food is fine, people were nice, very few incidents. Staff were nice. Unsure about how they handle meds though, since I was never on them (my mom said no). Also, it’s all group therapy. You get a therapist in there, but it’s better to wait to be discharged before getting 1 on 1.
(Scroll down for TLDR) Mattresses suck and I can only tell the time by either 1. Asking a staff member or 2. Having to go to a living room. Staff/MHW’s are really good though. Especially Cheerleader (Alexis 💙), Jake (from State Farm 😂), …

They have improved some from last year. Much more communication now between treatment team and parents. Hard to get in contact with patients during call times. No one picks up at the number provided for the unit. Other than that they seem to be making the effort to improve.
Best decision I ever made. The treatment I received here was top notch. They always made me comfortable and I never felt scared or unsafe. This treatment facility changed my life forever.

Horrific hospital. My daughter was there and the way they treated her is unforgivable. The staff is uncaring and abusive. The psychiatrists don’t care and have no idea what they are doing. My daughter came home worse than she was before she went there. Beware. Do NOT send your child there!

Not going to lie, some of the staff really didn’t care and some actually did we’re chill, and yeah it was wild every time someone would act out,but to be honest, this place really dead helped me a lot,I made new friends and also met this great …
i went there 2 times and honestly loved it. i admitted myself there the second time because i didnt wanna go anywhere else. present day, i feel a lot better. thank you to all the staff at Lodge for caring and helping me.
He always told me …
treated me terribly. hated it. everyone there was rude
I went here in 2009 and my experience was mostly good. However, my sister was hospitalized in 2013 (and was in the same part of the hospital that I had been- Lodge). Her experience was unbelievable (in the worst sense). I don’t know what …
About 11 years ago i was here. at the time i was going through so much in foster care I was sent to four winds Not by choice . But to be honest four winds was the best hospital i actually was placed in at the time. Maybe i didnt feel …
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was in four winds hospital for two weeks in the year of 2005. I’m now 28 year’s old. I was there due to control my anger and having problems expressing myself. This place should be shut down by …
I was a patient in october 2014. I recieved no therapy when my parents told them to give me therapy. The pychatrist was nice. They had many groups but many of the kids including me did not go to them. They were short staffed with violent …
Im 16 years old and I was here for about a couple weeks. I was in the unit westview, being diagnosed with bipolar, odd and depression, i got absolutely no treatment, was put on meds that gave me suicidal thoughts. The staff here dont care …
This place drove me crazy, it honestly didn’t help and just made matters worse for all the kids there. We sat in a room doing nothing for what felt like hour. Please do not send your kids here it will not help them, I recommend actually …
This place is alright. I was in one of the adolescent units a few months ago (can’t remember which one). I met a few other boys in this place who were pretty cool and made some friends. Only thing i’d say about this place is that it’s a …
I’m dead serious when I’m saying this. I was told had to choice to come here and when you choose to come to a hospital you are allowed to leave when you feel like it. But as soon as I heard the review about this place I immediately asked …
Patients were heavily drugged and badly mistreated by the arrogant staff members and unsympathetic doctors at this hospital. Certain patients had so much medication in their systems that they were twitching, shuffling, and having accidents …
They house teens with severe behavior issues with teens that suffer with depression and anxiety. So my teen had to deal with kids constant fighting, kids throwing furniture, kids running away. My kid was threatened by another teen. They …
the only benefits were the food and the staff. most of the staff were very kind and helpful and the food was better then any hospital food i’ve ever had, but that being said. i spent a week there and i’m honestly kind of traumatized. having …
I have stayed at this hospital twice in the North/Southgate unit in 2020. Most of the time it was subpar unless you were lucky enough to connect with a staff member that actually cared about their job enough to genuinely console you and see …
My son was here for a little over a week near his 18th birthday. He had a horrible experience. They initially treated him like a minor and then recognized that he should be treated as an adult. However, even after this recognition, they …
The most traumatic and terrifying experience of my life. Office and Admissions make it seem like a wonderful, helpful place. They are all manipulative liars. They told me …
In the cracks of the beds there were used band aids and used gauze pads it was disgusting. The whole place was very dirty. When you go to this hospital they give you a form to wright out, basically you answer questions, and based on these …
I am the parent of a child who spent more than two weeks at Four Winds. I was greatly disappointed by the hospital on several fronts:
1. Communications with us, the parents, was appalling. Nobody ever explained the …
If i can put zero stars i would. I am a parent of a child that was admitted in this facility. Staff here are easy to blame parents for the childs situation when they see fit. Instead of trying to communicate to my child properly and …
My son was discharged on Friday after 15 days. His time staying there was good but I kept telling them that the ADHD medication dosage was to low but they never increased it. When we would go visit him he couldn’t sit with us he was just …
So i went here. tbh yeah, its as bad as most of the comments are saying. the kids are constantly trying to run away. you dont have any real one on one therapy, so if thats what ur looking for then dont come here. i met with my therapist …
Life has been awful lately and I’m in a really bad spot again. I’m unable to think straight, get out of bed during the day, depressive thought and anxiety attacks out the roof. I now have multiple referrals to go here, and I’m begging those …
My child was here for 7 days. During those 7 days, she only spoke to her therapist once. She was also involved in an altercation that left her with concussion symptoms. I feel like the only things that did help her was the sleep and group …
I got ptsd from this place, while i was here i saw staff tease other patients/provoke reactions out of them so they’d get in trouble, their food was awful plus they didn’t even give out salt or pepper, the beds were basically prison beds, …
Excuse me for my english i am still learning.
in August of this year (2021) i was hospitalized for no reason and stayed in unit of deerfield. While some staff were nice and caring other were rude and very …
meeeh??? i stayed at woodview unit and it was ok?? people would fight and it would go on for a bit until someone did something the food was foul bro, and i met with a therapist like once for the whole time i stayed- i met super cool people their though, it was mad boring a lot of the time
After reading the horrible reviews i was so scared having my daughter placed there. I had no choice since there were no beds at any facilities around my area. I went to admissions and the staff was great they walked me through everything. …
i was in the adolescent unit november 2020. most of the staff should not be allowed near children and are inexperienced. most staff were constantly aggressive and lacked any kind of sympathy with clearly very mentally ill patients who are …
I would agree with the Ryan persons review staff always seem bored and Lazy and tired I’ve been here 3 times throughout my preteen to teenage years.
A thing that really scared me though was while I was there someone bit another …
My mother stayed here for a week for schizophrenia, during which she got very little one on one time. She hadn’t showered or changed for three or four days and staff (somewhat understandably because of shift changes) didn’t notice. They …
As a parent, received continuous updates from the staff and the psychiatrist.
With …
Do not send your loved one here, or do not go here if you are considering it. These other negative reviews are truthful, why lie and make up a bad review for a hospital if that hospital wasn’t anything but…bad? …
If I could give this place no stars, I would. My child, 8 yrs at the time, was admitted to this facility for about 1 month’s time. Due to Covid, they did not allow visit on site. I was only allowed to speak to her via telephone calls and …
I have had several Patients admitted there and I have been highly under impressed to appalled every time. Two of my patients were offered ONE 1/2 hour family session during a three week stay!!!! There was minimal individual therapy, it …

I’m not one to post reviews but if I could rate this hospital negative 10 stars I would. There have been worse hospitals like the Sagamore psychiatric center on Long Island which I would rate even worse. These places straight up abuse …
They had good
communication with my family. They gave my child the care she needed and we were part of the journey from admission to discharge.
Most of the staff simply shouldn’t be working there. They were talking negatively about the patients with each other, in front of the other patients! These are children they’re making fun of. They were unempathetic and pushy. They would …
Don’t send your child there .my daughter is back in the crisis unit after one week being home from this place. My daughter already was on medication before coming there Then they’re decided to add 2 more medications on it it seems …
I went here last year due to issues, this place made me realize how free i was in the normal world instead of having people act like they care for a paycheck, not including staff, they need to be given a raise they are working minimum wage …
My 12 y.o. granddaughter was sent to Four Winds for an evaluation and it was the worst experience we have both ever encountered. The boys and girls were in the same community setting and allowed to fraternize freely, which led to …
Therapist Crystal and Nurse Jackie need to go back to school. They spent all of a half hour with me in an 11 day stay. They wanted to keep me longer and because Crystal couldn’t get a discharge plan together on Friday, I had to spend an …
I went there a few years ago they had school group therapy and alone Therapy they would let us have fun and learn at the same time I loved it and sometimes I feel like I need to go back
I’d like to preface by saying that this is based off my recent (1/10/2023) and these are my own thoughts and observations having been a patient. This will be a very detailed review. …
Horrific hospital. My daughter was there and the way they treated her is unforgivable. The staff is uncaring and abusive. The psychiatrists don’t care and have no idea what they are doing. My daughter came home worse than she was before she went there. Beware. Do NOT send your child there!
