Gastroenterology Associates (NY) Reviews ( 77 )

  1. Do not go to them. The rudest staff and very unprofessional. Not enough employees! And if you complain they treat you even worse. I had an appointment for a colonoscopy and had to reschedule because I was very sick. When I looked at the new …

  2. My mother-in-law sadly lost her life while in the care of this practice, and their lack of followup and escalation during the progression of her condition was astoundingly negligent.

  3. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They don’t care about patients and choose not to listen to concerns . Worst experience I have ever had.

  4. Dr. Peter D. Bloom Perform my colonoscopy very happy with his knowledge and professionalism I even had a problem four months After the procedure he called me right away and resolve the issue over the phone thanks to him I feel so much better thank you very much and to your staff

  5. My experience with this practice has so far been positive. From my care from my chosen doctor, Dr.Bartelone and his staff especially his M.A., Andrew to the care I received from the on-call Dr during an emergency to the nurses in the …

  6. I would not recommend this organization. My mother has ALS and Dr. Craig Keller did a Peg-tube surgery on her at Millard Fillmore Suburban. They discharged my mom without any syringes, supplies, and knowledge on how to use the tube yet …

  7. Professionalism is maintained from the moment you walk in until the time you leave. Receptionists, M.A.’s, Nurses, Mid-Levels, & Doctors are each there to get you through difficult procedures with ease.

  8. Appointment was at 8:15am and I was not seen until 8:45am. I was the first one in the office and was not seen until 8:45am. If I was late to see my patients some would smarten up and call the state!

  9. Very professional staff, helpful, get the task done, respond promptly to phone calls, and need of assistance, I have seen Dr. Mian for years, she is a lifesaver, excellent bedside manner, down to earth, smart, up to date, and truly caring, …

  10. Extremely friendly staff! I felt very comfortable and listened to without being rushed. Dr. Mian is great! Shes very patient and genuine and i highly recommend her!!

  11. Do not come here! I was referred here by my PCP due to blood in stool. The specialist prescribed an colonoscopy with biopsy for colon cancer. It costed me over $2000 for the colonoscopy and biopsy. There was nothing wrong and no treatment was necessary. It took me over 2 years to pay the bill off. Totally a rip off.

  12. It has been 11 days since I had a procedure done at Gastroenterology Associates LLP/ Maple St. Amherst, NY.
I’m thankful for Dr Ben Schaus, who did a great job and I didn’t present any …

  13. Very dismissive. Will run one test and if they don’t find an answer they stop trying, even when symptoms continue and worsen. If you’re looking for providers who care, look elsewhere.

  14. No stars I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. I will be filling a complaint against them and if pushed open investigation into his practice. Takes health as a joke

  15. Incredibly rude doctors that won’t even make eye contact with you or pretend to pay attention during your consult. Also, expect to sit on hold for at least an hour each time you call, regardless of the day of the week or time of the day. Go somewhere else, anywhere else.

  16. So because you had to cancel one appointment because you contracted Covid-19 and another because your trip out of town was extended means you have a “track record” of canceling appointments and you get charged $100.

  17. One of the most professional, well run medical facilities that I have ever utilzed. The staff is incredibly attentive and caring. From the registration clerk to the Nursing staff to the physicians, everoeve was kind and compassionate. I highly recommend this practice

  18. My experience with Gastroenterology Associates has been very poor, terrible really. The 2 Drs. I had experience with were scheduling time consuming, unneeded appointments that were placing extra costs to my insurance company although to my …

  19. I had a really bad flare of my condition and was expected to wait 6 weeks for an appointment even though it was an emergency. I had to be hospitalized in the interim due to the severity. When I called about which hospital to go to making …

  20. This place is full of rude and unprofessional staff. When I called before my procedure to ask questions, I got a call back with “what’s your question” as her greeting. The nurse assigned to me seemed to fee I was wasting her time. I’m …

  21. I will NEVER recommend this clinic to anyone. They are a total ripoff. I had a colonoscopy last month, no polyps, but they still charged me an extra $200.00 which I have to pay out of pocket. Why? Because I had the home test first and …

  22. After seeing some negative and unfortunate reviews about the practice I felt compelled to post a review myself, specifically about Dr. Peter Bloom, I have been seeing him for many years and it is my honest opinion that he saved my life. …

  23. I am extremely pleased with my experience at gastroenterology Associates. I have had stomach issues ever since I was a child and luckily I came to the right place when it started to get worse. Dr. Keller diagnosed me with ulcerative colitis …

  24. They are a very busy office with a huge patient base. They are all kind and get back to me in a timely manner. When I am unable to see the MD directly, I see a PA/NP instead. Have never had a problem aside from sometimes having to schedule …

  25. Very rude and unprofessional. Place was dirty and sat their very long time waiting. And then if you have any complaints whatsoever do not tell them your complaints because they’ll tell you to see another doctor. A nurse from their just told …

  26. Update: This company has seen this review and hunted down my family member who does not have the same last name as me, through social media and removed them as a client for speaking out against their poor practice. This now leaves my family …

  27. I called to make an appointment for colonoscopy, I had to spell my name 4 times and my insurance ID number 4 times, she kept on saying that my insurance is invalid. After the fifth time she finally got my name right and she could find my information. I didn’t schedule an appointment because they are very dumb.

  28. When I was scheduled for a procedure I had gotten a call from I believe to be a scheduler , her name was Megan and was very rude and ignorant during a time of covid, going under anesthesia, in a a hospital is stressful enough ,along with …

  29. Make sure to research the doctors, in order to choose which one you would like to see. Once you select one, you cannot choose to see any other doctors. The doctors are nice, but do not seem very knowledgeable on how to treat root cause or …

  30. After making an appointment 3 months ago I was called a day before the appointment. First they were reminding me of my appointment then an hour later they were calling to reschedule it because the doctor had something to do in the morning. …

  31. When my previous gastroenterologist passed away, I was concerned about finding another practice that could live up to his high standards. Gastroenterology Associates recently met those high standards and then some during a screening …

  32. Excellent service from start to finish. The office communicates before your visit and thoroughly explains everything. Same when you arrive, no confusion, friendly staff, and extremely efficient. The doctors, nurses, anesthesiologist, and clerical are all top notch. I highly recommend this office.

  33. I have never encountered a nicer group of medical professionals. Every nurse, the doctor, even the secretaries were respectful, kind, and helpful. My appointment time was literally exactly on schedule. I had brought a book for the waiting …

  34. I can not say enough about the staff here! From the girl who checked me in, the girl who registered me, to the nurse in preop. My anesthesiologist was awesome. Dr. Mian was just what I needed to calm my nerves right down to the nurse who got me ready to leave. Top notch service and concern from everyone I encountered today!

  35. I have to put a one star but i would put 0 . I was referred by my doctor and had an appointment made and had no confirmation or reminder call or anything . I received a 25 dollar bill that i called explaining I had no reminder for . Every …

  36. I would have put 0 stars if that was an option. I made an appointment a month ago and had to cancel it a few days after for personal reasons. I got a letter sent home today saying I never canceled my appointment and didn’t show up. I called …

  37. I was almost immediately placed on the back burner after my initial appointment and dismissed largely due to my age. I was in the ER due to the amount of pain I was in after getting the runaround, and Dr Mehboob, who was in the hospital at …

  38. I was a patient with Dr. Schaus who I’ve probably only spoke with maybe 7 times in the 10 years I have been there. I was having issues and when I went to call to make an appointment I was 18th in line ON HOLD FOR OVER 35 mins! When I …

  39. Wanted to switch gastro docs after more than 10 yrs at ecmc cause it was too far of a drive so I was referred to Dr Schaus’ practice. He had absolutely no personality or good bedside manner and I did everything he suggested except 1 thing …

  40. I was surprised to see such negative reviews. My experience was anything but negative. From the person who checked me in, to the very last person I saw, nothing but kindness, professionalism and caring. The first nurse who took me back put …

  41. Dr. Keller is a good guy. He’s kind and seemingly compassionate and believe he did want to help.
I just felt like no one listened. And after painful surgery, torturous testing, …

  42. Very rude is an understatement!! My daughter was sick and could not make her appointment so when I tried to reschedule her appointment they told me she had be released and hung up on me. They would not even give me the time to get a reason …

  43. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel at ease Before my procedure and after my procedure . The day after my procedure the secretary called me in the morning to see how I was doing and then later in the early evening doctor Garson called me and asked me how I was doing and I thought that was great!

  44. I have been a patient w/this practice for a few years and I cannot get out of here quick enough! Not only does this office not care about your well-being, but they love pushing meds instead getting down to the cause of the issue and they …

  45. This office is very disorganized and has not cared about my well-being for the majority of the time I have been a patient here. My first experience was when I threw up for two weeks straight, I saw an assistant of Dr. Mehboob and I …

  46. The doctor is great but good luck getting through to someone to actually make an appointment. You’ll never be on hold for LESS than 20 minutes. I tried calling repeatedly this morning, they opened at 8, the answering service was still on …

  47. Went here for a few years, had a good expirence at first, seemed like the doctor really cared but appointments are hard to come by, Getting ahold of the office or having someone call you back was extremely difficult even as an existing patient. Recently switched doctors due to these factors.

  48. Canceled my appointment hours before that I wanted 1 month+ for that me and my partner took time off to schedule. It takes 30+ minutes to get ahold of anyone anytime I call. It feels very disrespectful of my time and doesn’t allow me to …

  49. I’ll start by saying the only reason I’m giving them 2 stars is because, the one and only time I went there the nurses and np I saw were kind. …

  50. Just to make a basic phone call to the officer to schedule an appointment takes 45 minutes. You clearly have a lot of patients and make money. Hire more staff! No one has time for that. Then when they recommend a follow up appointment they won’t schedule it in the office and make you call in to schedule.

  51. On Friday November 18th I went to the emergency room due to severe chest pains, scared I was having a heart attack. After numerous tests, they were able to rule out my heart and instructed me to follow up with my GI doctor “Dr. Pomakov” …

  53. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a doctors office in my entire life. Appointments booking out 8-10 weeks that are cancelled days before. I never had an appointment last more than ten minutes, I never felt heard or like my …

  54. Dr. Shah, Kayla, and other personnel are awesome. I know going in that scheduling, procedure, and followup will be handled with my care in mind. The patient portal is excellent for asking questions and receiving feedback, usually in less …
