Gracie Square Hospital Reviews ( 53 )

  1. I was there for seven days Wonderful place with great and caring staff and I really got the help I desperately needed and clients there are very kind made some Wonderful friends thank you Gracie square

  2. Felt like a prison. Cramped with crackheads stealing.
Two years later I was at a psychiatric hospital in Washington State and the difference was staggering.
They should close this place down.

  3. Please do not send your loved ones to this hospital for any kind of treatment because there is none available. The staff is horrible and rude and make fun of the patients right in front of the patients face. When I say staff I mean all from …

  4. EVERYTIME I GET ADMITTED BECAUSE OF MY BIPOLAR THEY TREAT ME WITH RESPECT. THEY HAVE ALOT OF GROUP SESSIONS, SALAD MAKING AND EXERCISES. I STAY ABOUT ONE MONTH EVERYTIME AND LOVE STAYING THERE. GREAT STAFF, NURSES AND DOCTORS

  5. My hospital stay was great except I didn’t like the night nurses they don’t want to nothing for you so they need new night nurses but other then that it’s a good hospital.

  6. This is the worst place ever and should be shut down. They dont treat people the way they deserve. Noone shld ever have to go thru such treatment. They make excuses for everything and are totally incompetent and unhelpful.

  7. This place was a horror beyond horrors for me. They treated me like an animal and degraded me in every way possible. Not one time did anyone ask how I was doing, but they sat with clipboards observing my every move. I wouldn’t recommend leaving a dog here.

  8. The staff are very helpful kind and caring to there patients they come to work with a positive respectful mood the food is decent The hospital is very clean I had only good experiences there everybody on the 5th floor are very hard working stafff

  9. This is the worst place to be at the only person I like there is Allison she done a great job at being a social worker if you don’t want to feel imprison don’t go here

  10. My friend is in here and they do not know how to treat people with mental illnesses. Period. It is a toxic environment and makes the issue(s) worse for the patient. Also, the five star reviews with no explanation for this place seem like false reviews.

  11. My sister came out just as sick as she went in. It was so obvious when she came out. Family made several calls to speak to dr and not once did we get a call back. They should be ashamed for realizing an unstable person.

  12. I have been calling this place for the past 2-wks now and I cannot get to speak to or with anyone besides the staff that is very rude. They all needed to be retrained. I keep getting transferred to voicemail that is already filled and no …

  13. THIS IS THE WORST HOSPITAL MY SON HAS BEEN IN. THE STAFF SEEM AS IF THEY NEED TO BE THE ONES ADMITTED. IT TOOK A WEEK TO SPEAK WITH MY SON’S DOCTOR. THE STAFF NEVER DELIVERED MY MESSAGES, AND I HAVE SEEN A STAFF MEMBER MAKING FUN AND …

  14. They are amazing clean and professional. They took me in with open arms not caring about what I looked like or how I smelled on the outside. The psychiatrist and social workers there are a great team of people

  15. This institution should be renamed to Gracie Square Asylum. It definitely reminded me of Arkham Asylum after I had visited. The incompetence of the medical staff was astonishing to me. It seems like they are just trying to find any reason …

  16. I was here nearly two years ago and I felt well cared for and cared about. I was here for 48 days and received intense counseling services multiple times a week to help get me back to where I needed to be to face the world. The food isn’t …

  17. I recently left Gracie Square Hospital (yesterday), and let me say it was quite a traumatizing experience. Get ready because this is going to be a long review. I want to start off by saying that the social worker Kate is a wonderful person, …

  18. Lost my wedding ring visiting a friend who is currently a patient. So upset as I did not expect to have to place my belongings in a locker when visiting a NYPH. Security officer Burton & 2 of her colleagues as well as Mrs. Zaida on 4th …

  19. Absolutely horrible Patient Care ! They think they can abuse their patients and not answer to their families and get away with mistreatment. Trust me when I say …. GOOD ALWAYS WIN & you and your administration who turns a blind eye will learn !

  20. This place doesn’t deserve a star or any positive recognition once so ever. The staff is the main issue in this facility. By far the rudest “professionals” I’ve ever encountered in the medical field. I’ve been down this road before because …

  21. While no one wants to be in a place like this some of us have to. I just got out after a 12 day stay and give Gracie top marks, not because it was a wonderful place but because the staff worked very hard to be sure I got what I needed to …

  22. If there were inspectors looking at GS they would fine them and shut them down. Threadbare linens, non working toilets, indifferent staff. NYP doctors will falsify documents to retain pts agst their will, abuse pts w medication, ignore …

  23. This is a horrible institution. They do not listen to what the patients have to say, the nurses give you a hard time to get your basic needs met. I wish I can give the public more awareness about this place so nobody has to suffer the way …

  24. Beware of the so called social worker named Kate and the female dismissive psychiatrist.
They used family members to fish information, then they ghost you, overmedicate …

  25. A very dear person to me was admitted for depression for 5 days. Most of the staff were very helpful. The security personal great and the social worker as well. But one of the nurses at the discharge day wasn’t, she was ready to put us out …

  26. My friend was there for a week, he got thrown on the floor and the staff never want to apologize for him. Most of the staff (not all) were rude to him. I told him it’s not crazy, its Gracie!

  27. Unprofessional, will over dose you on pills! Giving u pills u don’t need and the medication has me extremely drowsy, drooling, disoriented & shaking! Than when u call they’re saying u need to come in for them to change ur dosage ! Please save your loved ones from a place like this.

  28. Nurses, esp, the Chinese nurses here are very rude to their patients. They don’t seem to emphasize with them and their needs while they stay here…they should be doing something else instead of using their cell phones all the time. Shame on …

  29. First, the staff are committed to their patients and take their jobs very responsibly. Alana, NP and Mikaela, staff nurse were extremely helpful in providing much needed insight and information to family members.Jonathan, SW expedited …

  30. I am writing on behalf of my son who was there for a couple of weeks. The staff was wonderful: the doctors, therapists, social workers, security, cleaning crew…all were very friendly and seemed to be very concerned for his well-being. Thank you to everyone!

  31. I specifically want to give a 0/5 to my former psychiatrist Dr. Gamer who was a truly appalling caregiver and has no business dealing with other human beings. This was about a year ago so I’ve had time to think about it, and I am still …

  32. While I was only here for a short period of time (4 days), I found the hospital remarkable for the help, patience and caring of all the staff — psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, everyone, and many had marvelous senses of humor. I gained …
