  1. Good afternoon Team Grand Strand Medical, my experience was nothing short of awesome! Everyone of your teammates treated me like Family. God Bless them all!
    Mario Chapa

  2. Arrived at approximately 1pm on Wed 10/5 in ER for CT scan and stitches for 2″ gash in head. Over the next ten hours we sat and waited. EKG, admissions, blood work and CT. Finally at 9:30pm stitches and then another 45 minutes for discharge …

  3. It was the worst experience I have every had in a hospital. I was given the wrong medication, moved to the wrong location, inconsistent information about tests/procedures, and not even given a heart monitor when leaving the hospital (when I went in orginally for heart issues). These mistakes should have never occurred.

  4. I walked in at 8:47 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. appointment. They are so efficient that I was in my car at 9:00 a.m. headed to work. Very friendly, and professional, staff. Highly recommend.

  5. Well…went in to check for a blood clot in my lower right leg, they ended up doing a doppler echo cardiogram of my heart instead because they did not read the orders correctly. I even told them several times, are you sure this is what I …

  6. They will not disclose procedure prices upfront and charge ridiculous amounts! They capitalize on the fear and medical needs of their patients. Other hospitals nearby do the same procedures for a fraction of what they charge here. This hospital is run by money hungry vultures. Look up the recent news articles. STAY AWAY!!

  7. I was sent to Granstrand due to a head injury on a Saturday night. To be very honest, I don’t remember much that night, but I was told at one point that I was in ICU, but later told they were moving me to another room since my injury had …

  8. This is the worst hospital. We have been here for four hours in the waiting area with no help at all. My mom is sick and no one takes the time to listen. I need help but can’t find anyone to give a darn. The front desk lady is only worried about the nurse taking her pen.

  9. After my first review I was referred to Betsy with the Patient Access Team who provided me with an itemized bill for my visit. Betsy was great just like the staff the night my wife and I went to the ER. The service is great at Grand Strand …

  10. They took me in early on the day of Hurricane Ian so I didn’t have to drive during the peak of the storm!! Everyone there was nice and efficient. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!

  11. My husband’s experience at this hospital starting July 24th once he was moved from the ER lobby to the actual ER was atrocious. While we get that more people in the area creates a need for more medical care and that staffing is an issue, …

  12. The labor and delivery department is wonderful. I received excellent care and EVERY nurse that was assigned to me was phenomenal. It is evident that they all love what they do and truly care about the well-being of their patients. Best maternity care around!

  13. Checking in and registering for lab work in the lobby in the morning is crazy! Crowded with all the same day surgery patients and families. You need to have a lab draw service at an ambulatory location not in the hospital.

  14. I was scheduled for surgery and came in for my pre-op. They gave me a Covid test, then I was kept waiting for nearly an hour for my blood draw. Apparently my surgeon and the anesthesia MD did not communicate with each other. My surgeon …

  15. I don’t feel like I was listened to as a patient.. instead of actually figuring out what the true problem was the doctor I saw felt it was necessary to tell me my issue was I needed to loose weight and exercise more. I’m actually embarrassed to say I used to be an employee at this facility after the way I was treated .

  16. This is the worst hospital emergency room in horry county, I’ve been here several times and it’s horrible everytime. If it wasn’t for my insurance I would definitely find doctors who are not affiliated with this place. Horrible staff and …

  17. Everyone was great from the time I walked in. Very professional and caring. I cant remember all the staff that took care of me because there were a lot of taken because I had surgery, but Millie and Sakaria were 2 that stood out. They were so friendly and sweet to me.

  18. When there for a Cath Scan, waited over to get registered, was sent to radiology for 30 minutes, then to wait at the nurse’s station waiting for a free cath scan to be available, after 2 hours I had to leave because of multiple emergencies. Won’t schedule there again, this was the 3rd time this has happened there.

  19. 0 stars if I could. Make a patient wait 2 days before even getting them out of the waiting room of the ER after being send from the doc office for an infection from a procedure. Absolutely no respect for the patients or families at hand.

  20. Had an ultrasound done at Parkway and everyone was friendly and professional. I had a student who was very thorough start the procedure followed by Scott who finished my ultrasound. I am glad that a student could be part of the procedure with Scott overseeing her. Both technicians were considerate and answered my questions.

  21. Check in staff less than friendly…not rude just no eye contact… pre occupied with ipad…(hospital ipad)… 2nd ck in staff member more engaged and friendly but didn’t give good instructions for changing into gown and then where to wait…rad …

  22. Procedures were in effect to confirm my identity. A thorough inspection of my documents was made. The tecnician listened carefully to my history and answered questions. The equipment is less invasive than the old MRIs. The procedure was completed quickly and efficiently.

  23. I was not impressed with my 3 visits. My first visit I was told I needed blood work done and had to wait a week before getting blood work. I was feeling very tired and fatigue for the past 3 weeks. I was told to go home and drink water …

  28. By far, the worst ED I’ve ever been in. I waited for 12 hours just to be treated in the lobby. As a nurse, I understand staffing ratios are very poor right now and there’s hardly anywhere to put patients, but when I visited the ED they were …

  29. The ER at Grand Strand in not the place to be! I was there for over 30 hours before I finally got a room upstairs. It is not very clean. I started out on a bed in the hall starring at empty rooms. They said they had to save them in case …

  30. Staff was knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, and polite. Facility was clean, and well equipped. My only complaint was the food. It was poorly presented. Not appetizing or tasty. Needs a complete menu change.

  31. I have lived in the area all my life. This was the worst care I have ever received in my life. Staff over worked , didn’t answer call button, No nurse assessment after going to floor, stayed in ER in front of nursing stations (9:30am until …

  32. Hospitals aren’t fun places- too many sick people. But Grand Strand Regional has provided good to excellent care in each area I’ve dealt with. The full retail price of my procedures YTD is about 600k.If I had to choose between GSMC or MUSC, I’d choose Grand Strand every time.

  33. Spent 5 days at this facility. There were 2 out of about 20 employees that were pleasant in 5 days of agony. Refused to properly take care of pain. They had to move a numer of patients away from my room do to the amount of screaming and …

  36. Staff were great. The procedure went as expected (to my understanding). No issues around surgical site. Removed bandage after 2nd day with positive success. Efficacy of the procedure is yet to play a final scene.

  37. I had as best of an experience as I could considering. My nurse was wonderful, very attentive and caring. His bedside manner was helpful in my recovery from waking up after surgery and really cared about the pain I was in.

  41. I waited about 2 hours to go back. After I had my IV put in. If I was a drug user there is not monitoring of it. I could have walked out. I was in a lot of pain and really just needed to be taken care of so I stayed. Aside from that, …

  47. The ER experience was brutal. I arrived at 5:30pm and wasn’t called back until 12:30am. Once in the back things moved quickly and the doctors and nurses were great. I was in the hallway in a comfortable reclining chair. I was uncomfortable …

  57. Everyone is so helpful. Make sure you allow for time to get into the hospital and when you come on the weekend it takes longer and you have to go to main entrance for everyone.

  58. This was my 1st time at GSMC and it was a very pleasant visit. Other than the security guard, everyone was wonderful, especially my prep nurse Brooke. Over my lifetime I have had numerous hospital visits and your facility & staff are at the top for efficiency, courteous personnel, and an all-around great experience.

  73. Not sure why you have to register on iPad when you are in the system. Waste of time. Unless you are a ne patient. Lab technician can verify the insurance on computer system once you have an account like Quest Lab does.

  80. Mammograms are not typically pleasant experiences, however this was the best mammogram I’ve ever had…start to finish. The check in was easy and my technician was so kind and gentle, not to mention the warm wraps! Thank you!

  81. The employees were very nice and very professional but I think the xray images were done incorrectly. Also I think that was because my mother either moved or breathed when she wasn’t supposed to.

  82. During my last appointment, I was seen by my new resident doctor, Dr. George Wilkinson. Dr. Wilkinson was very personable and took the time to perform a thorough exam. He also provided a referral for me to see an orthopedic knee …

  83. It’s a for-profit hospital. HCA’s stock price is more important than your procedure. At 4PM, the night before (Thursday) surgery they called to tell me I was on at 8:30AM Friday. Apparently, they told every other patient the same time. All …

  84. I am having concussion symptoms and that should have been addressed before being released by the ER. No follow up from the hospital as of yet. Good place to be after a wreck for emergency care but short on follow up.

Signage in the Parking lot is a little confusing. It says “OUTPATIENT SURGERY/LAB, them down the path to has a sign that says, “OUTPATIENT SURGERY” ONLY. Please …

  86. ALL personnel encountered were kind and caring. Only docked 1-star for long waits for some pre-op assessment services and a few “student-moments” redoing needle insertions (hey, understood. they gotta learn) + shortfall in post-op PT.

  90. The last few times I’ve been in for an upper endoscopy I’ve had to wait after getting there early as I was told for 2 hours or more before my procedure is started. This has become the norm and I don’t understand. Please enlighten me.

  95. All personnel were friendly and caring. Every emergency room has issues with waiting but it is necessary to give the proper attention to their patients. I was happy with the overall experience.

  96. I was taken into for heartburn. After 7 hours of waiting (was told no rooms), and tests I was told I could go home. 7 hours is outrageous. The staff was great but there is no reason for someone to me there 7 hours. You need to improve this.

  97. I was an out-of-towner, recently in need of medical attention. Grand Strand Medical Center was the closet facility open (24/7) at that time. I’m from Michigan so I’m used to “loooong” wait times on ER visits. I told my husband to go eat and …

  98. I had a wonderful experience at Grand Strand for my surgery . Being retired nurse and doctor. I find I tend to have higher expectations of staff and I was not disappointed. From welcome to discharge we were treated with considerable kindness and respect. I would expect to use GSMC in the future without reeservation.

  99. I had a terrible experience trying to get a mammogram..the breast center called to remind me of my 7:45 appt..they said they needed an order from Dr. Huberty, I sent a note on my portal to the doctor and they faxed an order to Breast …

  105. I understand them having a mask policy, but to deny someone emergency care for not having a mask and refusing to open the door and provide one is ridiculous. For the staff to just point at their faces and sit there while my family members stood outside in the cold rain is beyond reprehensible.

  106. I brought my 7 year old grandson to the emergency room burning up with a fever, covered in a rash, body aches, severely ill and the lobby was not that full but they had us sit there from 10 am and watch literally 16 people that came in …

  108. 86 year old went in because of gallstones. Went in on Friday. 1 sandwich and 1 dinner in 3 days. Finally took to surgery tonight (sunday) at 6pm. It is 10pm and there is NO information from surgery. Starting to think we are now in socialist country. No one wants to work. The nurses have no information. This is unacceptable.

  109. Horrible care. And if your love one dies in the hospital because of their negligence but the initial problem was a car wreck. They dont file insurance. They send the bill to their lawyer in case there is a lawsuit. So they can get more …

  126. My entire visit was very pleasant. I was very scared going in, but because ALL of the staff was very friendly and helpful, answering any questions or concerns, I felt very comfortable and confident everything was going to be great. I would Definitely recommend Grand Strand for any outpatient surgery!

  127. Everyone I came into contact with was more than cordial. The doctor ?? Well jury still out on that one! She ” kinda, sorta, might have had an idea of what could be going on!”. Her words, not mine. I had more than that going in. Bless her heart. Oh….forgot…everything is VIRAL

  128. I have been there many times in the heart unit and I have to say everyone is so nice and helpful which makes your visit or stay much nicer. The stress of having to have any kind of surgery is scary but the staff puts you to ease.

  129. I had my first visit to Dr. Chetrit recently. I was pleased with the visit and the attention I received. I took off one star because the facility itself really needs some attention. The commercial carpet in the waiting room is filthy. There seems to be a lot of traffic, so a hard surface floor would make more sense.

  130. My experience with the Grand Strand was amazing. The nurses were all so friendly and made me feel at at ease. Kitty was my pre op nurse and she was great!!! The women who checked me in to surgery was also a great help, not sure wat her …

  131. I spent 24+ hours in the emergency room and was so impressed with the care I received from the nurses on duty – all of whom were phenomenal. Although the ER crowded, I did not feel neglected, but I did feel uncomfortable being treated in the hallway before being moved to a room in the ER, and later the 3rd floor.
