Gut Whisperer Reviews ( 99 )

  1. Been years since I’ve starting seeing them, still can’t tell me what’s wrong. Called and left several voicemails about an urgent medical question and no response. Thanks guys! 👎 …

  2. If you go to the PA expect to wait over an hour for her to see you. Also expect to go in more then once to get her to do something. Maybe she is just really overworked but I’m still waiting for her to do something I went in 3 times for.

  3. Seriously do not go here, save your money and go elsewhere. I made an appointment they scheduled me to have a few tests done 2 months ago and hav not heard a thing. And everytime I call I cannot get someone on the phone!

  4. I have never had better care. Always checking up on me to see how things are going. Love everyone there in the office they are all very genuinely caring about how you are

  5. Watch out for the staff (especially the service up front) I don’t like writing reviews, however, my experience was uniquely horrible. Oh, and make sure you have insurance because that seems to be all they care about. Good thing I didn’t have to pay anymore then I did.

  6. I disagree with the person who commented about Darcy she is on top of getting patients getting taken care of obviously this person was having a bad day and you do realize that the phones get busy right?

  7. Dr. Karnum and his staff are fantastic! Dr. Karnum is thorough, personable, and definitely goes the extra mile to ensure that my questions and concerns are resolved. Highly recommend!

  8. After 1 hour in the waiting room, waiting 2 weeks for blood test results, as well as 2 weeks of waiting for pre authorization on a prescription, and still no test results or pre authorization, i am done with this office. Don’t go here unless you are out of options, which is unlikely.

  9. Disorganization and miscommunication seem to be the themes here. Scans were not attached to chart and reviewed before appointments, procedures such as biopsies were not communicated accurately to the hospital scheduled to perform said …

  10. Highly skilled and expert at figuring out difficult GI problems. Content provider to Up-to-date medical resource. I’m in the medical field and have seen the benefits of his care.

  11. We are so glad we found this office! They always take enough time to solve my issues. It’s so good to have a doctor with such a wide range of knowledge who puts that knowledge into practice. I just can’t say enough enough good things about our experience here!

  12. Went in for a visit this morning and saw multiple staff not wearing masks. Also had multiple people in the lobby with no masks. Seriously? What a joke. Needless to say we didn’t go inside! If they can’t follow county guidelines and take a pandemic seriously then they probably don’t take your health seriously either!

  13. Had to call 5 times to get results from a CT scan! They never returned my calls. Said my scans came back normal but didn’t care to help me further investigate why I am having pains. The scan they ordered me to get was a $4,000 scan (over $500 out of pocket). Same scan I had a few years ago. I won’t return here!

  14. ABSOLUTELY RUDE!!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINGING NEEDED!!!!!!!!
Nothing like getting a phone call from a company that has the wrong number. To make matters worse, I inform her that I don’t have someone in my office with that name and SHE JUST HANGS UP ON ME.

  15. Anastasia (MA) changed my experience from a 1 star to a 4. I was misquoted the price of a procedure and near tears making phone calls between two facilities trying to secure a rate that would save our family a lot of money. Instead of …

  16. I got a scope with these guys and went back for my results. The Nurse Practicioner Jordan sat me down and said I had celiac. I cried, and spent the next month buying expensive gluten free products and books to educate myself and cope. Then …

  17. Best Doctor ever. I was severely sick for 22 days, lost over 15 pounds. And he was able to figure out what was wrong. In other words, this man saved my life. He gives you his personal number so if you have any problems he is right there and willing to help! 😊 …

  18. A dog and pony show. First the staff trying to sell me, then the doctor, this was in 2011, back when he saw his patients. He told me the the terrible drugs for HCV, Interferon and Ribavirin, were so safe, that he would put his grandmother …

  19. the doctores and Staff are wonderful. they have taken care of my husband really well. I took a star away becouse no one ever answered the phone never!!! not one time have I called and got to talk to someone.

  20. Dr. Uma Karnam is one of the best Dr.’s I have every gone to. He’s extremely knowledge and easy to talk to. I have so much respect and confidence in him. His staff are wonderful. They are helpful and all are very pleasant. Thank you Dr Karnam for all you do for me.

  21. I would agree that the staff leaves a lot to be desired. That said, after 12 years of trying to find out what was wrong with me, Dr. Karnam was able to diagnose me in just a week or so. Because it’s a rare disease and Dr. K found it, I’m …

  22. My first experience with the front desk staff was horrible. Talked to my primary Dr who sent me here he called up the office manager and she took care of that real quick. I travel from Payson to see Dr. Karnam. He is a great Dr. On my way to see him now. We shall see how the front desk is this time!

  23. If you have an easily diagnosed problem, these are your guys. If you have something harder, go elsewhere. My daughter has had severe gut pain for 2 years and they only ever let us see a PA–we never saw an actual doctor. They did a scope …

  24. Negative -5 stars for this place!!! Please don’t waste your time and money here. I never review anything but I feel so strongly that this place should not be in business that I will give it a horrible review. …

  25. I would avoid at all cost, literally. I was seen for a 30 minute office visit and charged $300. Wasn’t even seen by a doctor, it was a PA. They provided no service other than writing me a prescription for blood work (which was already …

  26. This is the most un organized place I’ve ever been to. They send me to this hospital or that hospital for apts and labs.. every time I go to the hospital they have no record of any lab orders or I dont have an appt. And every time I go in …

  27. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go to a real hospital with a Gastro doctor. Staff is not very considerate or kind. I got charged way too much to be told something I already knew, and didn’t even get to meet …

  28. Dr Karnam is one of the best doctors I have ever had, it is very rare that you run into a doctor that will go the extra mile like he will. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because he can get over booked a lot so that wait can be long but its well worth it.

  29. Negative 5 stars! We took our son here on a recommendation, after a scope they advised to have his gall bladder removed. When asked if that doesn’t help, they said then we’ll look at removing other organs. Are you serious? process of …

  30. Our family is eternally grateful to Dr. Karnam. We arrived at Dr. Karnam’s office in dire need of a miracle. Our father was awaiting a kidney transplant but had become so ill and wasn’t able to eat or drink for quite some time and had lost …

  31. Be careful coming here! I paid off all my bills with the exception of $40 and they sent me to collections, but it was for other supposed “past due amounts” that I was sure I paid off but I know that this place is fishy as hell. It seems …

  32. If I can give negative 5 stars I would. The doctor was so so rude, maybe spent 2 minutes in the room he diagnosed my husband and it was wrong….I was told my insurance covered the visit 100% for my husband and then got slammed with a bill …

  33. DONT GO TO THIS CLINIC I had Call to get the results of my blood work weeks after getting it done because no one bothered to call me. I called to ask about the result of my CT Scan and they still haven’t called me back with them. I got the …

  34. Dr. K truly is a Gut Whisperer and Miracle Worker! I went to 5 different G.I.‘a and they 🦉diagnosed me with Ibs. Dr K is the only one who took me seriously. He found a rare a complex disease that everyone else missed and he fast tracked me …

  35. I would like to thank Dr. Smith for his efforts in my three hour ordeal in cleaning out my esophagus. It was a long hard evening ,last Monday, and I thank you for your caring and skill. I appreciate your warning to stay on a strict liquid diet.

  36. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease by my doctor and my wife scheduled me. I read a few not-so-positive reviews and was very much not excited for this appointment. …

  37. Unless you have something easily diagnosable, avoid this office. The office admins are incredibly disorganized and unprofessional. The only person who cared to help me in this office was the PA I saw (he’s the reason they get 2 stars and …

  38. Dr Karnam is amazing. After over 2 years of hearing that nothing is wrong I finally felt listened to and like a doctor cared. I can finally eat again and I am so grateful to have a diagnosis and treatment plan that makes sense. I would definitely recommend this office and Dr Karnam specifically.

  39. Updated 8-30-19: Doctors are still amazing and Emily still is my go to woman! I can tell her the things she needs to know and not feel like a weirdo. However, to get an MA to call me back after a message is beyond hard. And when you call to …

  42. From the initial attempts to schedule my procedure to the actual appointment itself, I received nothing but professionalism and kindness from Dr. Karnam’s staff. Not only was I given thorough instructions prior to my appointment over the …

  43. These guys are the reason health care is so expensive. I left work to get there 15 mins early so I could fill out their paperwork. I was then roomed 15 mins late. I waited another 40 mins to see a provider which by then I had to get back …

  44. This doctor will charge you $200 just for sitting in a room and having a 5 minute chat. Then he will say you need to get either a colonoscopy or an endoscopy, or both. There are MUCH CHEAPER alternatives such as a blood stool test which you …

  45. If you’re considering going here because of the five-star reviews you see, think again. My primary physician wanted to schedul me with a specific doctor there, but they had me with someone else. The doctor they scheduled me with put me on …

  46. I have had overall a great experience with them. I’ve seen both Dr. Smith and Dr. Karnum and all of the nurse practioners. It is a little difficult to communicate outside of appointments because the MA don’t always call back however the …

  47. I believe that Phil Bowman, NP and Uma Karnam, MD (the two practitioners I saw) are trying to help as many people as possible. But they (along with many, many other doctors) have relied too much on the pharmaceutical industry to “heal” …

  48. While all the Drs In this facility are great, other staff members are not. If they say they sent out a referral you better be calling that office every single day until you hear from the referred dr because they don’t send our referrals or …

  49. And I quote: “If there’s nothing to test, there’s nothing to treat.” So choking on a daily basis is nothing because she doesn’t know what could cause it, so clearly nothing is causing it. Moron. …

  50. Dr. Karnam is a brilliant physician, not only in his specialized field of expertise, but in interrelating all fields of patient wellness, as nothing happens in isolation in the human body. He is a very quick read, with an immense body of …

  51. If I could give zero stars, I would. Not only did they preform an unnecessary endoscopy on me (that could have been prevented if they had just done an allergy test first), they also lost my allergy report and labs. There is zero …

  52. Dr. Karnam is wonderful. He’s very kind and intelligent and though his accent is strong, I could understand him just fine. BUT Jordan was the person I met with the first few times and he was…not very good. He never failed to tangent into …

  57. Been a patient of Dr Karnam’s for over 10 years. Through thick and thin with my condition, he’s been there to make sure I’m doing well. Knowledgeable and personable, two traits you always want with a Doctor. The PA staff as well has always …
