Very frustrated drove a hour to see someone to learn was told wrong visiting hour times. I asked if we could see him for a few mins to give him a gift we brought and told we could leave at desk. I don’t think a few mins would have hurt. They need structure but also need to know someone is still there for them.
The detox is horrible. I was sent there after a one time relapse so I wasn’t actually detoxing, after the first two days I felt worse than I’ve ever felt coming down, my back was wrecked from sitting and doing nothing, drove me insane, I felt instantly better as soon as I hit the door
I was a patient there and several kids got attacked and only put the guy on unit restriction. They should’ve punished him more and kept him away from the kids than just unit restriction.
The staff at Highland Hospital are very warm and welcoming. Except for the doctors. The doctors like to feed you crap and are not really there to help the patients. I was here for 10 days and I learned nothing on how to cope or how to deal with issues. Don’t go to this hospital.
