  1. (Translated by Google) Just because I need electricity otherwise it won’t use them at all all my money goes there with them and one tells them something that is wrong and they are always right and for everything they want to collect …

  2. Going to the actual building customer service there is absolutely awful. They do a discredit to the people working the lines and keeping that system up.

  3. Terrible service as well as price. For what they charge they should have service restored a lot quicker. They could care less about their customers because they would rather you complain to an answering machine then an actual person. Unfortunately not any other options.

  4. This place has no compassion they love shutting your Electric off over a couple dollars especially when it’s cold and you and your wife are disabled they charge high rates and when they have power outages takes them forever to get it fixed..not one ounce of care or to work with you or nothing

  5. During the hurricane had power. The storm passed no power. A mile up 707 have power, end of Holmes town rd have power. Try to call horry electric get a recording saying they have crews working, no kidding. Santee Cooper you call you get a person that actually talks to you. Not to happy to say the least

  6. Just wanted to say with the damage left by Hurricane Matthew in several communities throughout the area. Our power was out for almost 4 days and I was really surprised that it was back on yesterday evening! From the Top of your organization …

  7. Just left Myrtle, moved to another part of S.C. Called up and told Horry electric I haven’t received my final bill in the mail.g ot the amount over the phone. It was the biggest one I ever had. So I paid One half last week and mailed a …

  8. Horrible. These people won’t even give the balance to prevent disconnection of service if your name isn’t on the bill. I rent and the bill is in the landlords name. I shouldn’t have to go through this mess. Horry cooperative? They’re not “cooperative” AT ALL. They aren’t knowelegeable either and have cloth ears.

  9. They demand a $350 deposit to start, a deposit I have never received back for 9 years. If you are late, say $20 they’ll shut off the electric. Why not just take the money out of the deposit? Not friendly. They have rovers out just waiting to unhook people. Garbage company.

  10. Im from WV, looking for a piece of property in the Green Sea area. Have spoken to the people at Horry Electrical Cooperative. They’ve been helpful and friendly. Appreciate thiet patience.

  11. I paid my power before disconnection time and they still disconnected wanting the 9.99 to reconnect in 90+ weather. They are crooks, but not one of us are getting anywhere by writing on here. We need to go to the news and BBB with their …

  12. Power out 6am Friday prior to storm being in our area. Wasn’t even raining. Still out over 24 hours later. Called Them and their phone is not even accepting calls. How’s that for customer service! Forget us lowly, paying customers who …

  13. My thanks to the fellows that go out in dangerous situations to restore our power. In my opinion it takes a special person to do this. People.say that’s their job that’s what they get paid for. On a regular day yes but during storms these …

  14. Terrible company to have to deal with . The reviews are correct !! This company (co-op) is a joke. My electric bill is 4/500$ a month and your return on the co op 2.53$. Yeah I’m sure I’m the only one that pays that much . Ive never had my account shut off and I don’t do pre paid my credit is good and they refuse to take a check …

  15. Personnel try to be helpful, but all their answers are scripted. The rates they charge per kilowatt are double that of Santee Cooper. My electric bill for a smaller house powered by them is 3X the cost of what I was paying with Santee Cooper!! This is outrageous!!!!

  16. I called to inquiry about a transformer pole that’s directly in front of my front door. It’s in the middle of my property. I received a call from someone that told me that they can move the pole but it would cost me a lot of money to remove …

  17. This is one of the worst businesses in Horry County. There is not one single aspect of this company that is good. They are the only power company for most of Horry County and they know we have no choice but to use them if we want …

  18. Very poor service. I live in Chicago and have this place in Conway as a vacation spot. I have prepaid electric. So I came to my house and power is out. I called them and there was $2.11 over so they disconnected power from my house. I …

  19. Remember that horrible hurricane that recently hit South Carolina? Well, apparently Horry Electric does not. I own a rental property there and my tenant was forced to evacuate permanently. Tenant had just moved in right before Florence and …

  20. These are the laziest, most money hungry people I have ever dealt with! Extremely rude too! They couldn’t wait a few more HOURS till I got paid. They cut my power off (with no final notice or warning) when they know I have a sick, bedridden …

  21. Horry Electric is the most backward self-centered self-absorbed company I’ve ever dealt with in my life. If I had any other choice I would have my electricity with anyone above and beyond them. We have pay-as-you-go service and in the …

  22. My husband and I live mid Town for a couple years while we looked for a home to buy. When we found one I never gave a thought to who the electricity company would be. Then I had to go to Horry Electric and they changed me 750.00 deposit and …

  23. I called customer service to help give me some information on existing and future electric service to a parcel of land. I had lots of questions and fortunately was connected to a representative who was knowledgeable and courteous not only …

  24. THEY ARE BETTER THEN SANTEE COOPER . THEY ARE QUICK TO RESPOND TO OUTAGES . THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IF U R 1 DAY LATE THEY CHARGE A FEE, WHICH IS OUTRAGEOUS . THEY SHUT YOU OFF IF YOU ARE SHORT ON A PAYMENT BUT I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM BECAUSE …

  25. I think this company has a bunch of crooks working for it on top of that untrustworthy people who like to lie and decieve customers Had outages going on every month and they won’t take responsibility for it

  26. For a “non profit” they sure do know how to take your money every way they possibly can. If you are fortunate enough to have a choice go for Santee Cooper.

  27. We would like to express our appreciation for a job well done. The 3 men (unit 48) of Horry Electric connected our service to our garage. They were very professional—expedient —dug by hand—trenched and connected the wiring to the pole. All …

  28. We have outages CONSTANTLY. A little windy? Outage. Raining? Outage. Too cold? Outage. Please use the money that residents pay you every month and fix the root of the problem, whatever it is, and stop putting bandaids on bullet wounds.

  29. I have lived here all my life and Horry Electric has always been a part of that. I don’t know what we would do without them. They are growing, but still have a small town vibe. It’s hasn’t always been roses and we have had a few …
