  1. I called to paid my bill over the phone told the lady thank you have a nice day she responded with uh huh bye so rude I only gave one star because I have too!!! Need better people working for them with better attitudes

  2. I have been a member of the Co-op for over 30 years. During part of that time, we also had an account at another location ( at a business in town) with TXU. There is no comparison between the two companies in terms of quality of service, pro-active preventive maintenance and emergency response time. HCEC wins hands-down in all cases.

  3. Terrible ive never had an account with them and never had a late or past due utility bill in my life and they decide i deserve to pay $600.00 just to transfer the electric into my name on my new house. I will be contacting BBB and finding a way to get a new electric company out there.

  4. I am extremely thankful for the crew that came out to my home almost daily to trouble shoot why my a/c was shutting off at the hottest part of the day! It is fixed now due to the diligence of the guys and their knowledge.

  5. I can’t tell you how excited I was to see these two heros. We had just arrived at our cabin and our freezer and refrigerator were thawing. Your crew showed up about 30 minutes after I called. They were so efficient and very friendly. Thank you HCEC. Color me happy.

  6. I’ve been without electricity since Sunday at 8 PM, it is now Tuesday morning 830 AM still nothing. I reported the outage at 830 PM Sunday on the website and called the next day and reported it again to a voice mail system. Feeling helpless as there are no human beings involved, just voice mail system and website.

  7. In times of quiet calm people so often forget the efforts, sacrifice and dedication you all have in “keeping the lights on”. During my time in Law Enforcement I’m often out in times of disaster, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and severe …

  8. HCEC Rocks! Every employee I’ve had contact with in the last 5+years has been courteous and efficient and shown a sincere desire to help. During the week of freezing temps, we lost power twice, but it was restored within 20 minutes of our reporting it! Highly recommend this company.

  9. My mother is 72 years old and lives on the outskirts of Crockett. Her phone works off a wifi hotspot. She has been without electricity since Sunday. I live in Dallas and after not being able to reach her for 48 hours sent a neighbor to …

  10. Updating to give credit when it’s due. The power grid failed so many other Texans in the extreme winter storm of Feb. 2021 but HCEC kept our power flowing the WHOLE time. Trying to thaw a froze water line I tripped the main house breaker. …

  11. Edit: After all the lack of confidence over the phone, the field service technician arrived early on the day requested, and was everything I could have asked for. 8 stars for the field service technician, – 4 stars for the person handling …

  12. Power outages in rural areas require better service than is being provided. Obviously we’re not equipped to deal with snow but line maintenance is not the only issue. It’s practically impossible to speak to a human during multiple day …

  13. I live on a 1 mile long private rd. with 10 customers on it. I moved here 15 months ago and have had 7 power outages lasting at least 2 hours including last winter with a 2 day and 3 day outage. There have been over 100 “blinks” and short …

  14. HCEC went above and beyond today. My 85 year old Vietnam veteran husband and I were attempting to replace the ropes on our twin flagpoles. First one went perfectly but the second one whooped us. The shredding old rope jumped the pulley and …

  15. Always quick to get power back on asap. Very friendly hard working staff that go above and beyond to respond and restore power.
Reported my outage on their user friendly app, and had a call back within 15 minutes from one of their friendly dispatchers to let me know they had crews in route.

  16. Haven’t had power for 26 hours. I bet 90% of their problems are because they don’t maintain trees and right of ways. Get a whole house generator you’ll need it. I think Venezuela has more reliable power
