Humboldt Sanitation Recycling

Community services/non-profits, Humboldt Sanitation & Recycling

Humboldt Sanitation is a locally owned and operated family business. The Cain family purchased the company in the late 1970s and for over forty years have been providing service from McKinleyville to Orick. With the continued growth of Humboldt County, Humboldt Sanitation quickly grew from a two truck operation to a fifteen truck business with more than two dozen employees. We now have multiple generations of our family managing the business. A lot of things have changed over the years, but the one thing that hasnt changed is our commitment to quality service.

  1. Talking to folks trying to get information. They act like what you say and see must have not been as it showed. While playing the victim. They say the info is clear but it is not, I checked. Get short with you for asking information.

  2. Costs more than other local trash disposal at $12/100lbs. They require an ID for credit payment. In the past it’s been generally disorganized. They did recently build a new complex so things seem to run a little smoother.

  3. This review isn’t from my past experiences it’s from my experiences now This is why it only has one star For some reason everything in Humboldt County is open except for the recycling part of the humble sanitation I don’t get it my recycle Is piling up

  4. Best place to take your recycling locally. The only reason they lose one star, is because the exit and the line for weighing need to be separated and made clear…. always a weird exit.

  5. They tried to give me 3$ for an old 30lb aluminum beer keg, absolutely ridiculous. Then gave me nine dollars for 15lbs of aluminum cans. Needless to say I told them hell no and left. I know for a fact the beer keg is worth 50$ just in …

  6. Friendly people, fast & easy in & out. Took off one star because they require an ID when getting $ back for recycling. Ive never had to show ID at any other place I’ve recycled. They do keep it on file so you don’t have to show it each time you come which is nice but I’m not sure why they want to see it at all.

  7. Open for recycle payment and get more starsThey won’t pay you for aluminum cat food cans that we have to pay a crv fee for at store and they don’t want you to put in with tin cans cuz they want the recycle money. When they turn it in. …

  8. I miss the recycling being open. They were helpful and nice when I used to go in there. Really used to help financially. Please open it again. Everything else is open for your trash and recycling needs
