I’ve lived in their service area for 15 years now. I’m impressed with how quickly they get the power back up after hurricanes etc.
We set up auto pay and they charged us an extra 149.25 saying it was past due. Disappointed in the customer service and overall service of the company.
Jones-Onslow has always shown that they put their customers first. The only thing I wish they could change is cutting all ties with Duke Progress. Jones-Onslow line crews really stepped up and made the magic happen during the worst times in our community. They definitely put Duke to shame!!!!

Have used this company for years with no problems. Always friendly and promptly respond to any issues. We also receive credits each year which can be applied towards your monthly billing. That’s always a plus.

They needed updated account information or something from us. Instead of calling or emailing to get that ahead of time, they simply cut our power off without saying anything to us, then charged us an extra $80 to reconnect it, and happily informed us that they are the only option we have for power.
Lots of negative reviews, but the reception and service I got when I came in to get my power turned on was excellent. They were quick and prompt, upfront about the costs and the average utility bill. Power goes out here more than usual then again there is a huge base here that sucks up alot of the services time.
I can’t judge the negative reviews, but our experience with JOEMC has been nothing short of great. We have lost electricity twice in two years due to storms and hurricane. Both times JOEMC crews were on the scene right away. Power was restored as soon as possible. Great job!
