LMH Health Reviews ( 167 )

  1. I came here after being severely attacked while 32 weeks pregnant. Every member of staff that I worked with was respectful, kind, and patient, and went out of their way to make sure I was as comfortable as I could be. Gwen in the OB unit …

  3. Very poor customer service! Called to check on my sister’s status and was basically given the brush off. I asked for an estimate for how long it would be until she was released only to be told they don’t know anything.

  4. LMH is a good hospital. My family member had to get chemo there and the physicians and nurses have been fantastic. Getting chemo at this hospital would be a lot more tolerable if they fixed the wifi. We hear the nurses complaining about …

  9. LMH Drive-thru COVID Vaccination extremely well organized and efficient. Arrived 8 minutes before scheduled time for check-in, received my vaccination in less than 5 minutes from arrival, then wait 15 minutes to ensure no adverse reaction. Staff all friendly and helpful despite the frigid 20 degree weather.

  10. We arrived and were quickly seen within minutes. Staff was kind and accommodating. Overall, pleasant experience for the unfortunate situation we were in.

  11. I am seeing a lot of reviews where people feel that their medical care was inadequate and Lawrence Memorial did it because people in handcuffs in Alcoholics got in to see doctors before them but I will tell you one thing triage when …

  12. Ridiculous wait times for surgery. Left in a room for hours with no clear explanations. If they can’t get you in when you’re scheduled, they shouldn’t use a schedule!

  13. Don’t go to this hospital if you can help it. They are rude and incompetent, they could care less about you untill they get there insurance cards from you. If you dont have insurance they will not treat you. They wont try to dig deeper to really find your medical problem. They will just do the bare minimum to get you out the door.

  14. Went into the er at late at night some old time to get through and into a room only issue once in a room the left blood on the floor in the middle of covid. We where there for my 4 day old new born. When we asked to switch rooms they just …

  15. I have delivered two babies with Phillip Moreano at LMH and could not have been any happier with the staff, facilities and the Doctor. Everyone was kind, compassionate and helpful.

  16. Went here for a “well-man exam” and the experience was great all around. Dr. Marcellio (sp?) is a great guy and an attentive physician. Also, staff were happy to point me in the right direction when I could not find my way to the exit! …

  19. This is the worst hospital I have ever been too. Treated me terribly. Dr Neff is rude and not very qualified. They have no regard for patients. I left there with a severe allergic reaction untreated and they did nothing. Patient …

  20. Mark Schumacher in Radiology was very reassuring and sweet to me. He looked me in the eye and smiled and said everything I was experiencing during the CT scan procedure was normal and I believed him. Thanks, Mark!

  21. This hospital is wonderful! Every single person that came to see me, even the doctors, were unbelievably kind, considerate, and very sympathetic. I would recommend this hospital any time! Thank you all for taking such wonderful care! God bless you all!

  22. Great experience in every way. The Doctors, nurses, dietary staff, and housekeeping were accomodating, compassionate, helpful and informative. We would recommend them to anyone. We are new to the area and very impressed.

  23. My wife was in LMH for a spinal stimulator surgery. The surgeon is great, the hospital is the opposite. Inattentive nurses, a cafeteria that dispenses salmonella, and a layout that forced an extensive walk just to find what you need. She will be safer at home.

  24. Poor service passed out with cramps and ect. before comming there and I’m 10 weeks along they all treated me and my unborn child with no respect a lot of them judged me for even showing up like it wasn’t important so I will definitely be finding a new ob/gyn in another hospital and that’s the last visit I’d be making there.

  25. This place is the worst ER ever!! They overcharge for billing and then sent the original bill with no CPT codes to look at pricing. Then 5 MONTHS LATER send another bill for the doctors visit. People of Lawrence I think its high time we run …

  26. Genuinely the worst ER experience of my life. Terribly slow and rude nurses. If I knew it was going to be like that we would have gone to KC for treatment.

  27. Denied entry for my elderly grandmother. They only let one person per stay period they are not up to date with the rest of the regions hospitals…Johnson County is already letting people in the hospital one person at a time in the room not …

  28. Hospital is okay but the billing department is atrocious. No one ever answers the phones when I try to make a payment. I don’t have time to be on hold all day just for you to take my money. GET A BETTER ONLINE SYSTEM OR ANSWER THE PHONE.

  29. Took my 90 year old grandmother here and sat waiting in the ER for a doctor to return. Nearly two hours went by and finally asked a nurse about the wait. The response I got was a very rude and loud “maybe there are people here sicker than …

  30. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS FACILITY FOR MENTAL HEALTH EMERGENCIES. Your very life will be in peril. They will have you speak with a social worker and send you on your way. This is NOT mental health emergency protocol. For a facility in a community with so many young people, it is truly horrifying.

  31. Both times I have been here I’ve been treated extremely well. Once for appendicitis and the other today for a severe allergic reaction that required an ambulance transport. Both times, the people here left a lasting mark on me. A traveling …

  33. I have been to the ER 3 times since moving to Lawrence. Each time they have been wonderfully helpful. People on here complaining about the “unprofessional” I guess I can understand. BUT I also know they are human and the job isn’t easy. I …

  34. All the staff I encountered were empathetic and friendly. Wait times we’re reasonable, pretty much what you’d expect with any hospital. The parking situation could be better. Would not have an issue going back there if I had to.

  35. My granddaughter was in ER for 2.5 hrs. With a back ache so bad she was crying. 2.5 hrs xrays and 9 dr. Zznurses ignoring and left with no answers. I bet they charge for us occupying their room for 2.5 hrs. Worse hospital ever.

  36. My visit was not unexpected but the timeline was rushed. I spent 4 days / 3 nights with the 3rd floor staff. Nicole,Mandy and Adam were so accommodating, letting me do what I could for myself under supervision. Absolutely the best staff.Thank you

  37. Performed tests that had nothing to do with the symptom and diagnosis I told them about (I knew the diagnosis because my doctor had told me). Then they sued me over $700 (over $1000 when they sued) even though I asked for help several …

  38. My 2 year old was having trouble breathing and was blue, she has asthma and weak immune system. It was late at night and I took her to here. Her oxygen was 50 and they didn’t even know how to put in a IV. I Told them to take her to …

  39. This is VERY important to know about the LMH emergency room: they reverse triage. In order to improve their official response time to ER intake, they will see the *least* sick, *least* injured, *least* critical patients first. Your only …

  40. Had to be admitted to the ER for nausea last night associated with my partner’s contraction of the Noro Virus. Was prescribed two meds that haven’t been sent out to the pharmacy. It’s been 12+ hours. How am I, 24 weeks pregnant and …

  87. Don’t even deserve one star. But couldn’t write a review without at least one. Let a drunk person and someone able to sleep in waiting room go before a 15 year old with an incorrectly implanted IUD who couldn’t sleep in waiting room. After 3 hours and NOT one single person giving af we left to find a hospital that might actually care!

  88. ABSOLUTELY waste of time. Everyone here needs to be fired or retrained or something. My cousin went in for a doctor’s appointment about ALLERGIES and the nurse practitioner not only insulted his weight by calling him anorexic which he’s …

  92. I don’t reccomend this hospital at all. Even if you think you’re going in for something that’s not high risk – your bill will be extraordinarily high as if you were. The Patient Advocacy is a joke. Their entire job is based on putting …

  93. Came to ER, got in quick and was everything seemed to be moving along, and then doctor or nurse, never followed up, for 2.5 hours, and then when they came in they told us we were released. They never looked at the wound or even addressed it.

  94. Had to pay them a visit today after taking a fall. The staff were professional, empathetic, and responsive. It was very nice not to be treated like a hassle just because I wasn’t bleeding out or in cardiac arrest. If ever have to land myself in the E.R. again, I ‘d make the drive all the way to LMH.

  97. Attempt to call specialty offices as well as locations within the hospital. Always on hold. Hold times vary from 5 min to 20 min to just talk to a receptionist to schedule appointments. Have also had times when you don’t even get to talk to a live person to ask questions.

  98. Could be better it’s about 50/50 I think the nurses in labor and delivery could be less stuck up. The pain clinic I have been going to since before they were located at LMH and they wereat LMH South. After the move to this hospital it is not …

  99. Recently had a routine coloscopy at the LMH Health Endoscopy Center. Checking in was quick and easy. Everyone on the staff was very helpful and kind. 102. It’s sad that Lawrence only has the one hospital to its name, and that so many dedicated staff have to choose between making a long commute to the next nearest hospital or working for a place that engages in extremely unethical practices. …

  103. Slammed my finger in the door. They were prompt, understanding and gentile. They were thorough and took x-rays to make sure it was not broken. They numbed my finger so the stitches wouldn’t hurt and walked me though how to care for it …

  107. Pregnant wife went in bleeding and after an hour waiting we asked to just have someone look for a heartbeat so we would know amd we were told they didn’t have one so either A. They lie to patients, or B. They lack the required equipment to run a hospital

  108. Long as wait, rooms have no noise insulation so it’s impossible to fall asleep. Overpriced like all hospitals but the wait times truly are insane. I’ve waited over 2 hours for them to just look at the xray it’s already been taken.

  109. I recently visited LMH walk-in clinic on Iowa. I had a tick bite that was showing classic symptoms of Lyme disease. I waited nearly and hour to be seen. The young women who called me back, weighed me and took me to the exam room was …

  110. I went in by ambulance. I was so out of it I had blacked out fallen and bent my ankle backwards. As far as doctor and nurses they where great. The day I left I was screamed at by a hospital social worker while she claped her hands at me. I …
