Marion County Utilities provides water and sewer services to the unincorporated areas of Marion County. This office location was selected as close to the geographical center of our service areas by population. The building was purchased at a cost lower than the cost of building a new office location and will likely be returned to the tax roles in the future when the value increases above the cost of a new County office building.

Horrible customer service.
Clean,good customer service.
Customer service reps are rude as hell.
Charging the customer to pay online is backwards and robbery.
Very poor set-up, process, and culture. Be prepared to be hassled and inconvenienced when dealing with this operation…. I’m disgusted.
This place has the most worst staff and disrespectful and all lies they say
Was hold for 30 minutes no one pick terrible customer service
Worst customer service ever, not trained right! They transferred me 4 times to different operators. On the phone for about 30 minutes for something so simple, very exhausting!
Employees are very nice and have smiles.
Cannot get through to pay the water bill, ever since they moved and no live person, its ridiculous!!!!! Need to go back the way it was before they moved to Belleview
Absolutely the most rude customer service ever! You call them for answers and get treated poorly by people who clearly should not be in the customer service industry!!
This is a crooked company and need to be looked into
Horrible customer service. Customer service rep got annoyed when I asked questions about my bill. It is unfortunate I don’t have a choice to switch…
Horrible RUDE service…and we have to agree to a fee to pay by phone. My last payment were not deducted from balance, not efficient. Would expect more reliable service from a utility company.
Horrible customer service!!!!!!!! They are extra!!! I have dealt with many utility companies over the years and these people are BY FAR the absolute worst both in policy, fees, and customer service. The county commissioners should be ashamed of themselves with this circus they call public utilities
From the other reviews, the phone lines are where the one-star reviews are coming from because every time I go in the actual business, everyone is pleasant and very helpful. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ …
This Utility company is very expensive ! Not even on the Covid 19 that we are passing thru they are still charging late fees! I’m pretty sure they will cut the water if you don’t pay. Is all about the money. Before moving into a house do your homework 🙁
Can’t even give them 1 star, but had to or it wouldn’t let me post it. They ALWAYS want to shut the services off 1 week or less prior to Disability checks coming out. And they refuse to give you even 1-2 days extension until check comes in. …
Customer service was pretty bad. Who ever runs that place must be a complete waste. I suggest they start over. Pretty much the worst case scenario dealing with them. I would pay good money to deal with a different company.
Horrible!! I was one the phone making the payment and was placed on hold so I asked the tech to just wait a couple minutes while my payment processed he said” it won’t post faster than I can flip this switch”. Then the lady came back on the …
Do yourself a favor and dig your own well. These people couldn’t manage getting out of a wet paper bag. -5 stars
Perhaps the most dreadful customer service I’ve ever experienced. Payments submitted at my business address credited to the wrong suite/office number. Cut off my water even though bill was always paid in full.
I have lived in Ocala for 14+ years. Always pay my water bill on time, as a matter of fact I pay more than my bill is, never been disconnected. Since they rolled out their ebill online I have had nothing but problems for the past six …
It is time a class action law suit was put on Ocala utilities. I have been paying them double every month and I didn’t even know it. They took money directly out of my bank account plus I was sending them a check. They had the nerve to …
They had an idiot running the department, who got promoted to asst. county mgr. Typical promotion for a small backwards county who will not pay the price for talented and experienced personnel. That department will just keep limping along. …
Not a good experience so far. It appears improvements need to be made here.
Update: Once initial issues were addressed, things appear (from my perspective / experience) to be a bit smoother at the moment.
Why are we forced to pay a fee every time we pay our utilities unless we go to the business that is about 30 minutes away (or more) from most of the customers they serve? …
I have never see water price so high until i move to marion county everyone affected by this we should issue a legal class action lawsuits againt this company
Understaffed horrible service construction department never answers phones pay in full up front for tap and meter 2 mths later still no meter
Awful! Every month I have to go back and re enter my credit card info. Website just as bad as the service.
This people have no common sense.
Getting billed extra gallons of water last month at the higher price because of human error. …
I have had occasion to deal with Marion County utilities on three occasions. One was for my new neighbor; moving here from W. Virginia. Two were for me personally. …
They do not know how to help customers. We have been average with our water that all of a sudden our bill went up to $200 when we do not even have an inground pool. We called to have our meter reread and they reported that we had a leak a …
We sold our house 2.5 months ago. Was told the deposit refund would be sent after 6 weeks. Still nothing, but when called, the staff says that it should have been sent already. What a miserable company that has made Ocala look bad.
I have just moved to the area.
FIRST: Beyond banker hours 8:30am to 4:30pm
SECOND: No WEB access to establish service, exit service. Sounds very podunk …
To be completely honest, if I could give them zero stars I would. They took over our old company and said they were going to do improvements to the system, we got new meters. The water actually tastes worse than before, not sure how that is possible. But what can you expect from Marion County, just look at the well maintained roads.
We are needing to cancel service because we are moving. They want us to come down, AFTER closing, to show them the warranty deed and 2 other forms to cancel our service. Or we can wait until the new owners put it in their name. There is no …
