Meadville Medical Center Reviews ( 98 )

  1. I have a broken foot and on the xray it was clearly broke and a nurse practitioner walks in and tells me its not broke. Went in 2 days later with my foot having gone cold and numb got another xray and they still said it wasnt broke. Meadville Medical Center is a joke yojr better off making a homemade brace then going there.

  2. Worst hospital I would not even take my dog here!! Worst food, worst costumer serves, only half of there nurses did there job, go to the next nearest hospital don’t come here .

  3. Moat DISGUSTING place i been.. Left my bile on the floor for few hours and walked all through it.. Bad bedside manners and non cleaning.. You wait forever for a nurse and hrs for meds.

  4. I already know Crawford County is experiencing a Covid19 surge, and you send me a postcard that has been touched by multiple people informing me!! Thanks for the germs.

  5. Did I read correctly? The staff went to a golf event dressed as Border Patrol employees? And, their caddy was dressed as a “mexican” and they had him handcuffed to their “border wall” golf cart. Disgusting.

  6. Poor management. Universal precautions not practiced. Eating and drinking in the lab with candy and snacks stashed in drawers. Same people come in late and nothing done.

  7. My most grateful respect to all nursing heroes who deal with myriads of other patient’s health issues while compassionately caring for fearful strangers while constantly on call.

  8. i took my 5 month old granddaughter there on 3-17-20 because she had to pimple like things on her face and she was sneesing well when we get to the er they checked her temp it was 102.9 they took us to room #3 and i had to wait 10 minuets …

  9. Not a place to go if you are sick. Avoid at all cost. Just to show their lack of compassion or foresight, the MMC recently awarded a group for wearing border patrol costumes while assaulting a handcuffed “illegal alien,” at a golf …

  10. The worst and slowest ER you will find. Should pay more in staffing Dr.s and nurses than all the front security, admissions people and front help. 4 hour wait with x-rays, should a went to hamot…… “MMC” come here to die should be their new slogan

  11. I was going to write a scathing review.
But with much thought I decided to say……………..
That I requested a note/just a note mind you stating the Dr had operated on me …

  12. Can’t rate zero unfortunately 🙁
I had a slice of about 1/4 of my finger missing and I bled on the emergency room waiting floor, waited an hour and a half to be admitted. I believe I was only …

  13. Be very careful, do not let this hospital and it’s Dr’s operate on you unless you are completely desperate or have no other option. Wildly varying results from surgeries reported. Do research and more research regarding any elective procedure. Foods pretty good though. Otherwise this is a disorganized operation. (pun intended)

  14. DO NOT WORK OR GO HERE! They have no regard or respect for employees at all. Management is completely and utterly incompetent and they will fire you and protect veteran employees, despite the mediocre (that is being generous) care that they …

  15. This place and their affiliates like the Barco Oncology will not permit a support person to come in…this is not acceptable! Especially when the patient suffers from mental illness 😞 Also, their communication skills are just terrible. Would not suggest this medical facility to anyone 🙄 …

  16. This place is a joke. Been dicked around for a year after being diagnosed with a severe medical issue. Go in ther today to get treatment that was promised that would be taken care of within 2 weeks. Every month multiple times per month for …

  17. My young daughter was here for a mild trauma. The staff was amazing. They treated her like family. She received thorough and compassionate care. I was so impressed and pleased with every person on staff.

  18. My parent has had 2 procedures at MMC in the last 2 years. From the surgeons, nurses, dietary team, therapy, cafeteria staff, all have given him the care and attention he has needed. He leaves satisfied and well on the road to recovery. He continues to request the teams at MMC for his joint replacements.

  19. Nastiest hospital i have ever been to. The nurses are rude and have no compassion. The food is nasty my dog eats better than what they are feeding people. The wait on a nurse to check on you is sad. I just hope that they treat elderly people who can not speak up for themselves better than they treated me!!!

  20. I candy stipe (volunteer) here. The staff provide great care. The cafeteria usually has good food. The coffee shop always is the place to go, especially for milkshakes even if you don’t have anyone to visit in the hospital. This place gave me one more reason to be a doctor.

  21. The ER is a joke…. Waited 5 1/2 hours due to them having one doctor one the floor. They had 6 patients only. not even a person coming in to check on me. They want to start a trauma unit… LOL they cant even handle six people. Do …

  22. The inpatient behavioral health unit has very nice (on the precipice of “EXCELLENT!”) eatery options. The staff seems annoyed and grumpy at times but the group therapy and 1:1 rocks. I would recommend the MMC!

  23. Some one else said it best MMC’s slogan should be come here to die! If your having a scheduled surgery you will be treated with more respect and have an ok experience. Ive never heard anyone complain about the new life unit. …

  24. Went in on a busy morning with terrible flank pain from a kidney stone. Wait time to be seen was not unusually long and everyone we interacted with were helpful and pleasant. All in all we are very pleased with the diagnosis, treatment and as pleased as you can be with having to go to the ER.

  25. I have had a horrible experience with Meadville Medical Center starting on April 16, 2016. I had my husband take me to the ER on April 16th at around 9:30 pm for excruciating pain in my back and legs. I had no idea of what the pain was …

  26. Terrible and dangerous hospital. My son was in for 6 days and over the 6 days they up his iv instead of meds by mistake, downed meds because of a pharmacy misfill label, dr says not to take a certain OTC med and discharge papers says that …

  27. Surgial experience: My mother had surgery here – my first experience with this facility. My sister and my wife stayed with my mother. They told her to come in at 9:30 a.m.; when she got there they informed her that her procedure wasn’t …

  28. I received my 1st cv 19 shot on sat 2/27 at st marys church. Every thing went like clock work from the people working the parking lot to the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and volunteers working inside.they answered the questions i ask, so I want to thank all of them for there service. Good Job MMC

  29. Come in at 8:30am for nausea and vomiting with stomach pains. I was out by 10:30am with medication and a dx nothing serious. The admission RN was very kind. My two nurses checked on me every chance they got! I enjoyed my stay there I don’t want to go back anytime soon but they are very compassionate!

  30. I will be the first to abmit. I have bashed this place before. But let me say this: this place has really turned around. They will go above and beyond. This place is 100% different. Better

  31. DO NOT come to this hospital. They are currently DENYING TREATMENT to patients who require assistance from another person. If you have any kind of disability or other issue that requires more than just you they will refuse to see you! …

  32. I have been an MMC employee for the past 4.5 yrs. I, unfortunately, got to see what it was like to be a patient, as well as needing emergency surgery. Every person that I came in contact with from, the EMS, ER nurses, drs, my surgeon, Dr. …

  33. Our mother was very sick yesterday evening and we had to have an ambulance get her to take her to the hospital. After running tests, 4 doctors came into her room and told her she had an intestinal blockage and needed surgery. She let us …

  34. They claim you didn’t pay, even when you have canceled checks to prove otherwise. They make automated calls bothering about a bills you already paid. If you value your credit stay away.

  35. Being from Pittsburgh, I know great hospitals. While this doesn’t compare to a UPMC facility they did a GREAT job. They took great care of my 5 year old and we were in and out within few hours. Dr. DeFranc listened closely and provided …

  36. Phenomenal! I’ve had more than one heart attack. The treatment at Meadville Medical Center was the best ever. The cardiologist and staff were efficient, friendly, and left me feeling so much better that previous hospital stays. Also, the followup was always encouraging.

  37. I’ve had nothing but bad experiences from Meadville medical center. last spring my wife was in the emergency room three times and they ignored everything when in fact she had to be transferred to Hamot and have emergency surgery because of …

  38. I have always had 5 star experiences with MMC. (When I broke my leg in 2018, I was in and out in under an hour! And when I was having issues with mouth pain prior to extractions, I only had to spend 25 minutes there) However, today when my …

  39. My very 1st experience at meadville medical center, even though they were under a lot of stress, and busy! They did there best to keep on their toes. And very compassionate, and tried to make me comfortable, while waiting. They had a long …

  40. Not a good place to be if your a psych patient some of the nurses where nice some where nasty would be nice to let us have our phones or let psych patients use the phone to call there loved ones or someone to know where there at and what’s …

  41. Went to ER with broken back. I’m a nurse so I knew what was going on. They took my temperature and blood pressure then told me to have seat in waiting room. The girl taken before me was eating snacks and soda and playing games on her …

  42. It amazed me that even in an intensive care staff was as sensitive to not only the patient but also the family. Professional, knowledgeable are just two adjectives to describe everyone we encountered at your facility. The physicians made …

  43. I am feeling generous – hence the two stars. I have been treated so poorly, overheard more gossip, and been bruised for weeks from Trying to put in an IV – in just one of several visits to the ER. …

  44. I see my urologist here, everyone is always super friendly. They are one of the few places that is very proactive with treating IC. Most doctors aren’t even familiar with it let alone able to offer the proper treatment.

  45. The nurse in the radiology department was completely nasty and wouldn’t accommodate me with warm water for my irritable bowel syndrome and said she had none. Also the only Barium they had had Xanthan gum which is corn and I am highly …

  46. The ER here is absolutely terrible. They say they go case by case but they don’t. They have no issue taking your insurance and putting you through a metal detector but god forbid you get treatment.

  47. I ended up in the ER with severe sepsis which was quickly diagnosed by the attending physician. During my stay, all of the physicians, nurses, PAs and other hospital team members were professional, courteous and genuinely cared.

  48. The staff at the Grove Street Surgery Center are by far the best I have ever encountered. Top notch! Compassionate caring. I would rate all of you a 10+. Thank you all for taking care of me when I was there for a total knee replacement last week. Linda McC.

  49. Daughter fell and hit her nose , looks broken, went to the ER and after 6 hours still hasn’t been seen by a doctor , I guess the bleeding and swelling was not bad enough to be a priority . Go somewhere else unless you have a blister – they’ll get you right in then !!

  50. A month in the hospital with Covid . I was on a ventilator for 14 days and I have to say all my nurses were Angels!! Very helpful and very kind. My doctor’s were great. They didn’t hide anything from me . Their communication was straight forward and honest to me.I am very happy with my care there.

  51. This place is just filthy and facility costs are out of control. Do not trust MMC with anything more severe than routine illnesses. I would love for this facility to improve and stop being such an embarrassment.

  52. Horrible!!! My son and his fiancee had a baby today! My sons fiancee’s mother was allowed in and out the the room all day but after my new granddaughter was born I wasnt even allowed to go in the room to hold her or see my son and his new daughter or take pictures. What an absolute joke!!!

  53. Arrived at Meadville Medical Center ER and was under a doctor’s care within minutes instead of hours. They were more worried about my well-being than paperwork. Thanks MMC for having your priorities straight and taking good care of yours truly on my first visit there.

  54. The E.R. here is a joke. If I could give a zero stars review I would. They charge you $300 to take your temperature and tell you there are no beds available and no doctors available to see you and send you home without treatment. That’s IF they don’t leave you sitting for hours upon hours in the waiting room.

  55. Terrible, I was supposed to have a colonoscopy on September 9 , they turned me away, Not the Dr, but a registered nurse. I had 14 inches of my intestines removed, and told them I’m having trouble with my intestines, I’m being sent to Erie, If there is something wrong with my intestines, I WILL HIRE AN ATTORNEY.

  56. Meadville Medical Center you guys are a joke. You have a man come in cause they can’t breathe and having complications. And you say, oh sorry go see ur regular doctor (knowing it’s the weekend) umm our regular doctor told us to go to you …

  58. I accompanied my father for an outpatient procedure at the Liberty Street surgical center. I cannot overstate how kind, compassionate, and helpful everyone we encountered was. Though everyone was great, Jill and Ralph were phenomenal. I so very much appreciated their kindness, as did my father.
